In late April, on my way back from lunch in Sengawa, I decided to do some shopping at Inageya Chofu Sengawa store. I also noticed a Fujiya store with Peko-chan inside. It had been years since I had Fujiya cakes. As I looked at the display case, I was torn between the classic items, cream puff cut cakes, whole cakes, macarons, all looking delicious. I ended up buying the following cakes: - Adult's Chocolate Cake: 520 yen - Savarin: 490 yen I couldn't wait to try them at home. The Adult's Chocolate Cake had a rich chocolate flavor with nuts in the chocolate mousse, using high cocoa content. It was a real chocolate lover's delight. The Savarin had apricot jam spread on top, on a cute brioche base soaked in rum. It was quite sweet overall, and I personally prefer it a bit more bitter. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a delightful cake shop while shopping. I wonder what I'll try next time. Thank you for the meal!

The other day, I tried the Deluxe Mont Blanc from Fujiya and it was delicious, so I was curious about the Premium Mont Blanc featured on their website. I ended up visiting Fujiya again the following week. The first thing that caught my eye was the Kasama chestnut Mont Blanc (390 yen), so I bought that first, and then added the Premium Mont Blanc (520 yen) at the checkout. For dessert after lunch at home, I had the Kasama chestnut Mont Blanc. For dessert after dinner that day, I enjoyed the Premium Mont Blanc. The Kasama chestnut Mont Blanc had a similar structure to the Deluxe Mont Blanc, but I didn't feel much chestnut flavor, instead, the milkiness and sweetness of the cream stood out. The Deluxe Mont Blanc is 520 yen, while this one is 390 yen, so maybe that's the difference with the Kasama chestnut. On the other hand, the Premium Mont Blanc, made with Kumamoto's Kuma chestnut, had an incredible chestnut flavor and was very delicious. The overwhelming presence of the chestnut cream was outstanding, living up to its premium name. Once again, I was impressed by the longstanding expertise of Fujiya. I now want to try the classic yellow chestnut Mont Blanc from Fujiya to wrap up this season's Mont Blanc adventures. Thank you for the meal. Located in Sengawa-cho, Chofu City, Tokyo, this is a long-established confectionery manufacturer that produces and sells cakes, ice cream, and Western-style sweets. It was founded in 1910 (Meiji 43). It is located inside the Inageya Chofu Sengawa store, which is convenient for customers from Chofu City, Mitaka City, and Setagaya Ward, as it is located right on the border. The tenant of Fujiya right in front of the cash register is in a prime location. There are two sales staff members who provide face-to-face service. Today's orders were Mont Blanc with chestnut cream for 390 yen and Peko-chan's Cheeks (custard) for 108 yen. The Mont Blanc, a classic from Fujiya, is small and sweet with plenty of chestnut cream. I devoured it quickly. The Peko-chan's Cheeks, which I bought for the first time, has a fluffy sponge with smooth custard cream inside. It apparently contains 10 billion lactic acid bacteria. I sometimes shop at this supermarket, so there is a possibility that I will visit again.

In the TV show "Dare to Eat!?" there was a segment featuring a discontinued menu item from Fukiya. The selected discontinued menu item was called Milky Yokan. It is a yokan (sweet jelly) with milk flavor and red bean paste inside. When I watched the show, they described it as extremely sweet, so I was looking forward to trying it. Indeed, it was very sweet. The sweetness of the Milky Yokan combined with the typical cheap-tasting red bean paste made it even sweeter. It tasted more like milk almond pudding than Milky Yokan. Overall, the lingering sweetness was quite intense.

Our cake was from Fujiya. It was a mousse cake. This year, Christmas ended up without any travel plans...(´・ω・`) ---May 31, 2021 Update--- It's been 8 years since 2013. I remember that around this time, we used to go to Mie or Aichi during the holidays near Christmas, but this year we went to Shizuoka at the last minute. It was the first time I went to Sushiro this year. Maybe it's the effect of Mercury retrograde starting yesterday, but it's nice to add to past articles like this. It brings back some memories. I think I went to Paris before going to Shizuoka, and I brought back souvenirs...and in Shizuoka, did we go to a super sento called Bijin-yu...? It's nostalgic. I was able to buy both the sold-out Corocoro Shiba-chan for 410 yen and the Corocoro Kumasan for 410 yen. Both were delicious.

Located inside Inageya supermarket in Sengawa, this bakery is quite small and tucked away. It's perfect for grabbing a cake after finishing your shopping at Inageya. Despite its small size, the bakery offers a decent variety of items. On this day, I purchased three types of macarons, a strawberry tart, and a chestnut Mont Blanc. The macarons seemed a bit small, and the cakes were average in taste.

Born in 1950, Peko-chan is the image character of the popular confectionery chain store, Fujiya, loved by both children and adults. This particular store is located inside the Inageya supermarket. They offer around 30 different cakes, with the most popular being the Milky Cream Roll, a sponge cake filled with creamy milk. They also serve soft serve ice cream, which is a must-try. Recently, I tried the Hokkaido Rare Cheese cake with strawberry, which was smooth and delicious. The Strawberry Milky Choux Cream is also worth trying, with a sweet and sour strawberry cream filling.

I bought a set of 12 small cakes as a souvenir to bring to my friend's house. Each cake was big and had a lot of volume. The set included various flavors like shortcake, Mont Blanc, rare cheesecake, and chocolate cake. It was great for when you want to try a little bit of each flavor! The customer service at the store was pleasant, and they had a quick service attitude. The cakes from Fujiya are all delicious with classic flavors, making them perfect as souvenirs!

During my first visit to Inageya on 10/17/2011, I stopped by for some cake as a snack. I wanted to have soft serve ice cream, but ended up going for the apple pie mode instead. The size was okay. The apple was a bit unbalanced. The pie crust had a strong fermented butter smell that was a bit overwhelming. It felt heavy and greasy. Even though it cost 1,000 yen, I decided to give up on it. I should have just gone for the Milky Soft serve after all.

This time, I visited a cake shop known for its milky desserts, Fujiya. The shop is located near the checkout counter at Inageya Chofu Sengawa. I purchased a Milky Cream Roll this time. It came in a cute box featuring Peko-chan. Upon opening the box, I found the roll cake wrapped in milky-themed paper, resembling a large piece of Milky candy. Unwrapping the paper revealed a roll cake with a pure white sponge, giving it that Milky touch. The sponge was fluffy and generously filled with whipped cream. The cream had a strong condensed milk flavor, reminiscent of Milky candy. While it was quite sweet, the cream melted in your mouth without feeling heavy, leaving a refined and delicious taste. If you are a fan of Milky candy, I highly recommend trying this roll cake. Thank you for the meal.

About a 10-minute walk from Sengawa Station, there is Fujiya located inside a supermarket called Inageya. The bright display window showcases a variety of cakes and sweets that seem appealing to children. I decided to try the custard cream puff with Peko-chan's cheeks. The pastry is fluffy and delicious. The cream has just the right amount of sweetness, making it easy to eat. It was on sale, so it cost less than 100 yen. The cost performance is also good.
