I went to this restaurant with my friends and their family. They took the train to Takao Yamaguchi Station, where there was a free shuttle bus available. It was very convenient as the restaurant is a bit far from the station. At night, the atmosphere with torches and traditional Japanese buildings felt very solemn. We chose the course meal option, which we were able to decide on the day of our visit. Although you can also order individual items, there may be an additional table charge. We opted for the course meal since we had a large group, and we were escorted to a private room. The room had a garden with ducks and koi fish, lantern-lit pathways, a charcoal hut, and a traditional Japanese-style setting. It felt like we had traveled back in time. Just exploring the restaurant was exciting. In the course meal, we enjoyed grilled skewers over the built-in charcoal fire at our table. There were also various other dishes like fish cake and mochi. We tried the special miso sauce with mochi, and it was delicious. The children in our group had fun grilling their own skewers. The staff, including some beginners, were all very friendly and accommodating. A veteran staff member even cheerfully cleaned up a broken glass, saying, "First and foremost, I'm glad no one got hurt." The appetizers, main dishes, and dessert, including the ohagi, were all delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for its atmosphere and service. The private room was cozy and perfect for families or groups. I can't wait to go back again!

This is my third visit. It's convenient because they have rooms where you can bring your dog. When you order a meal for your dog, they provide a bowl, water, and a toilet. The food is all delicious, but it would be nice if there were more types of dipping sauces. If you order additional items, they will be delivered promptly. The operation is excellent. The atmosphere of the room is very nice.

It feels like stepping into a fairy tale world when you enter the reception area and place your order. You are then given a map to find your room, which leads you to the garden. Upon opening the door, you find a large hearth in the center of the room where you can cook and enjoy your meal. The menu includes two courses: "Sound of the Tide" (seafood) and "Festival" (meat). For drinks, there is "Gonsuke Cold Sake". The "Sound of the Tide" course features various seafood dishes, while the "Festival" course offers a selection of meat dishes. It's a carefully selected dining experience where you can enjoy the best of both land and sea in a charming atmosphere. It's like stepping back in time and having a delicious and enjoyable meal.

I stopped by on the way back from Yamanashi for a drive. The restaurant is located along Route 20. It was hot, so we decided to avoid the terrace and chose a private room indoors. It was nice to enjoy both the fun of grilling and the pleasure of eating. The cold tororo soba was also delicious.

During the Obon holiday, I visited the grave and then stopped by GonSuke for some irori-yaki. I wanted to relax in a private room, so I dined in a separate building. It was hot in the summer, but I enjoyed delicious irori-yaki. They offer various courses. I was the designated driver today, so I couldn't drink alcohol and had to settle for pomegranate juice. Thank you for the meal. They usually give out fans, but this year I received a folding fan instead.

We visit this restaurant every May, and this is our 4th time! It's a teppanyaki restaurant that is perfect for those looking to relax, especially for those who are usually busy in the city. This time, we visited with 7 people. Each group has their own private room, so it's great for families. We were so focused on grilling that we didn't take many photos, which is a shame. You grill your own ingredients here. The meat, sweetfish, scallops, and clams were all fresh and delicious. You can choose between barley rice or soba noodles at the end, and we chose soba. Even adult men will be very full with the amount of food served. After eating, there is a large pond with koi fish swimming, so we bought feed and the kids were happy feeding them. I think it would be perfect for autumn with the fall foliage, so I plan to visit again in the fall.

Relatives came to visit, so we went to this restaurant for dinner. First, before the meal, we did something we were looking forward to. We bought food for the carp and ducks (50 yen) at the main house and headed to the pond. We hurried to the pond where the annoying carp and cute ducks were. Despite wanting to play with the ducks and feed them, the large group of carp prevented the ducks from approaching. They jumped out of the water and eerily snapped up the food. 80% of the food was stolen by the carp, but we were able to play with the ducks a little. After playing for a while, we were guided to a private room for the meal. The main house was full of customers, but the private room was quiet. We had reserved the chef's choice course, but one of our companions couldn't eat river fish, so we requested scallops instead when we made the reservation. Thank you for the flexible service. We toasted with non-alcoholic beer and had a fun meal. We had meat, fish (sweetfish), vegetables, and as usual, the portions were generous, but we finished everything. The cold tororo soba at the end was voluminous. Our favorite dishes were the local konjac miso and gon-suke mochi at the beginning. Of course, we bought the local konjac miso as a souvenir. The miso is very delicious. We would like to visit this restaurant again when someone comes to visit.

I visited a restaurant called "Irori no Sato Takaozan Myonushi Gonosuke" located on a mountain path in Hachioji City. The restaurant is a traditional charcoal grill place, and during my visit, we had a group reservation in a separate building. On the way to the building, there was a garden with ducks and koi fish, making it enjoyable for families with children. We had a course menu which included a variety of grilled skewers, appetizers like ham-wrapped cabbage, barley rice, grated yam, miso soup, and pickles. The course also came with a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option, including draft beer. We also added extras like beef tongue, sweetfish, and chicken meatballs. We finished the meal with a satisfying bowl of grated yam rice. It was a nice experience to enjoy a meal in a different atmosphere than usual. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The atmosphere of enjoying irori-yaki as if you were at a ryokan is amazing! The sashimi and horse sashimi are very delicious! The mochi was also chewy and tasty! Since the restaurant is located near Takao Mountain IC, I would love to visit again when passing by on a trip!

I love GonSuke. I use it when I want to bring important people. They come to pick us up at Takao Yamaguchi Station and also drop us off at the time we finish eating. It's much appreciated. The food is delicious and enjoyable without any complaints.

Today, after coming back from the sauna, I visited a charcoal grill restaurant for the first time in my life. The storefront had red lanterns and a pond, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. We were seated in a private room and ordered a seafood platter. The platter included abalone, scallops, blackthroat seaperch, shrimp, and more. In addition to seafood, we also enjoyed delicious beef and chicken. The meat was incredibly tasty, with a sweet richness that made you want to eat it with rice. Of course, the seafood was also very delicious, allowing us to savor the fresh seafood. Thank you for the wonderful meal once again.

After climbing Mt. Takao and enjoying the hot springs, I wanted to eat something delicious, so I made a reservation here. It was very convenient that they offered free shuttle service to the restaurant. The private, calm hearth room was even better than expected, especially in the middle of winter. Before being shown to our room, we had to order our course meal. We were allowed to choose a different course, so we went with the river fish and game course. Everything was delicious, but the fish and mochi were particularly tasty. The meat options were clearly listed and all of them were delicious as well. I thought maybe it was the atmosphere, but there seemed to be various secrets to the deliciousness, like the ingredients and charcoal. Additionally, I accidentally left my phone behind when leaving, and even though I couldn't find a taxi from the station, the staff kindly went out of their way to bring it to me. I definitely want to visit again next time I go climbing. I was extremely satisfied.

It feels more like a facility than a traditional restaurant. You can enjoy teppanyaki at your own pace in a private room. It seems more suitable for families rather than dates, with a slight theme park atmosphere. The menu is easy to understand and divided by price, so you don't have to worry too much. You can have a delicious, enjoyable, and cozy time.

The atmosphere is very nice, and the staff are all very friendly and easy to talk to. The room was a private room where we could relax for 2 and a half hours, and the food was delicious. I would love to visit this restaurant again. The charcoal-grilled dishes allowed us to adjust the cooking to our liking, which made it a fun experience for the whole family.

A grateful shop with a dog-friendly indoor area. They have a menu for dogs. They provided not only dog dishes and water, but also scissors to cut dog meat. The journey from the reception to the room was enjoyable, and the staff at the shop were kind. This shop accepts Go to Eat Tokyo tickets.

I really wanted to eat robatayaki, so I came here! I arrived at the station, waited for the shuttle bus I had reserved, and finally headed to enjoy the robatayaki! It's fun to grill it yourself, and the food is delicious. You can also season it to your liking, so I am satisfied. The private room was spacious, and I enjoyed a relaxing lunch while looking at the view! The good smell of the food being grilled already got me excited. I started with a toast with beer, and then enjoyed it slowly with sake. It's recommended for dates or families because all the rooms are private. The scallops and shrimp were plump and delicious! The round mochi was also delicious, and I ended up eating two more. Thank you for the meal.

This is a review of "Takao-san Meijin Gon-Suke" near Mt. Takao. The retro atmosphere of the private rooms is great, and the seasoning and quality of the grilled dishes are excellent, making it an overall wonderful restaurant. You can choose your preferred course, which is nice. On this day, we ordered the seafood-centered "Shiosai" and the diverse "Ohayashi" for two people. "Shiosai" ¥6,800 included seasonal small dishes, charcoal grilled dishes, a meal (barley rice or warm udon with mushrooms), and an apple sherbet palate cleanser. "Ohayashi" ¥7,000 included seasonal small dishes, charcoal grilled dishes, a meal (barley rice or warm udon with mushrooms), and an apple sherbet palate cleanser. The "Jikonnyaku Dengaku" is served warm with a refreshing sweet miso sauce and a good texture. The "Nodoguro Hitoyasumi" was small but plump with sweetness and richness. The "Awabi no Odoriyaki" was surprisingly tender and the best I've had. The "Gonsuke Mochi" was a large rice cake grilled over charcoal with a special sweet soy sauce, which was irresistible. The warm udon with mushrooms was a great choice, with flat and chewy noodles and a clear and flavorful broth. The private rooms are equipped with kerosene heaters, but we didn't need it because of the warmth from the charcoal grill. Ordering drinks is done through a karaoke box-style phone in the room. I would love to visit this wonderful and delicious restaurant again in the future.

Three of us went for lunch. It's right off the Takao Interchange, with a pretty spacious property. There are carp swimming in the pond and ducks roaming freely. There are several traditional Japanese-style private rooms scattered around, and we were guided to our private room after receiving a map at the reception. The atmosphere was already amazing. In the private room, there was a charcoal fire burning, and soon the staff brought us the course meal we had reserved. My friend ordered the game meat course, and I ordered the course that included sweetfish. Charcoal grilling brings out the true flavor of the ingredients, and it was delicious. The sweetfish was probably at the end of its season, but my friend who ordered the game meat course was so impressed that he ended up ordering more. On the other hand, I ordered additional skewers of deer and rabbit. The rabbit was tender and the deer had a distinct flavor, but the sweetfish and honbinosu clam were the best.

Irori no Sato GonSuke in Minamiasakawa-cho, Matagi, Hachioji City, Tokyo (Game Course ¥7200/1 person) is a restaurant located in a natural and peaceful area at the foot of Mt. Takao. They have a spacious parking lot and offer shuttle service from the station. You can also dine with your dog in a separate area. The seasonal small dishes include konjac dengaku, charcoal-grilled wild boar, deer loin, rabbit leg, thick-cut duck loin, pheasant leg, shiitake mushrooms, ginkgo nuts, sweet deer peppers, and GonSuke mochi rice (barley rice or kinoko hot udon). You can enjoy cooking at the hearth by yourselves and lose track of time in the pleasant atmosphere. The pheasant and barley rice were especially delicious. Highly recommended!

I visited on Culture Day in November. Two families with 3-year-old children each visited. We had reserved a private room in a separate building online in advance, which turned out to be a great decision. The tatami room was perfect because we could relax and enjoy the irori grill while the children played and danced happily without disturbing anyone. We ended up staying for over 2 hours without even realizing it. The meal started with appetizers, followed by a basket of ingredients for grilling, and we could choose between finishing with tororo rice or mushroom udon. The food was not as luxurious as kaiseki cuisine, but the portion was generous, and you could also order extras like grilled rice balls (you can order using the phone provided). The atmosphere and price of the meal in the private room made it a great value. The children especially enjoyed the miso dish prepared at the beginning, and we even bought some as a souvenir, which tasted delicious at home. The property had several separate buildings with beautiful views of the autumn leaves from the windows. On our way out, we bought food to feed the koi and ducks at the main building's reception (50 yen), which was another fun experience. The animals were eager to eat, and seeing the happy children in the beautiful garden made everyone smile. It was worth driving all the way into the mountains of Hachioji just for this. The restaurant is conveniently located near Takao Interchange, with ample parking available.

Revisited the restaurant. Last time I ordered a course meal and ended up feeling full halfway through, so I couldn't eat everything I wanted and felt frustrated. This time, I asked for a la carte menu, which is usually not allowed as they only offer course meals, but they made an exception for me by paying an additional 1000 yen for the room fee. As a result... I was extremely satisfied!! I could eat just the right amount of my favorite dishes and it made me happy! The price was about the same as when I ordered the course meal. Here's what I ordered: Wagyu steak ◎, Beef fillet ○, Beef tongue ×, Spare ribs ○, Baby chicken wings ◎, Quail eggs ○, Asparagus bacon ○, Butter-grilled scallops ○, Abalone dance-grilled ○, Grilled rice balls ○, GonSuke mochi ◎. The Wagyu steak was so tender it melted in my mouth! On the other hand, the beef tongue was very tough and no matter how much I chewed, it wouldn't disappear from my mouth... The GonSuke mochi with sweet and savory sauce was delicious! I want to eat more Wagyu steak next time. The separate private rooms have two types: tatami and table seats. I had requested my preference when making the reservation, so I was able to sit comfortably in a chair and enjoy my meal.
