Umino Chikara @ Fuchimachi (Taito Ichicho) - Two bowls of donburi and fully decorated ship
I visited here the other day and was amazed not only by the delicious ramen but also by the donburi dishes. I couldn't forget the clam broth ramen and the red squid donburi, so I came back to try them again. First, I started with the ramen. I set aside the noodles to fully enjoy the flavorful clam broth. Both the salt and soy sauce flavors were delicious, but I especially liked the depth of flavor in the soy sauce. The medium-thin noodles were fragrant and had a great texture, smoothly sliding down my throat into my stomach. Next up were the donburi dishes - the red squid pickled donburi and the honbinosu butter soy sauce donburi. I couldn't resist ordering two of each (laughs). The red squid had a sticky texture and a combination of the squid's sweetness and the simmered soy sauce made me crave some sake. The honbinosu butter soy sauce donburi was a perfect combination of clam, butter, and soy sauce - a dish that pairs perfectly with beer. Ah, it was so delicious! The creative and innovative dishes, a result of continuous effort, are a highlight here. I highly recommend everyone to try it at least once.

I finished my business in Akihabara and decided to stop by this restaurant. The female staff was handling orders one after another during the lunch rush, it was like a battlefield. I ordered the special salt ramen. I had high expectations for the scallop and clam salt soup. However, it lacked saltiness and had a mild flavor, which honestly wasn't to my liking. The presentation was excellent, so it was a bit disappointing. Perhaps if I had chosen the sea bream ramen or soy sauce, my opinion would have been different.

The restaurant is located on a main street and has a great atmosphere. There is only one staff member so it may take a little time, but it's not a big deal because of the ticket system. I tried the salt ramen and it was delicious with a rich scallop and chashu flavor. The noodles were firm and had a satisfying texture. I would love to visit this place again!

Around 12:20, there was a wait of 1 person inside the shop. It took about 25 minutes from there to get the bowl of noodles. The owner runs the shop alone and also serves tsukemen and hiyashi (cold noodles), so depending on the timing, it can be difficult to wait this long. Today, I went for the cold noodles. I learned from last time and only added a normal portion with a flavored egg topping (1,050 yen). They have a variety of rice bowl options as well, but I try to avoid too many carbohydrates as they make me sleepy. As it gets cooler, I'll try out other menu items.

On a day when I happened to go to the office, I found this shop by chance. I decided to visit again today. My goal was to try their cold ramen. Despite being a one-person operation, this shop has a huge menu. I stood in front of the ticket machine for about 20 seconds trying to find the cold ramen option. Eventually, I noticed a sign saying to buy the ticket at the top row for the cold ramen. I bought the ticket and sat down. When my bowl arrived, I found that the soup was not liquid but rather a thick gel-like consistency. The special topping, flavored egg, stood out the most in terms of taste. The other toppings were mild in flavor. The chashu pork felt a bit tough in the cold ramen. Next time, I might just stick with the flavored egg. Nevertheless, cold ramen is a great option for the hot summer days. I might come back on my next office day.

I happened to come across a shop while walking towards the long-standing homework shop Tenjin Shimokōki. I was drawn to the idea of sea bream ramen, so I entered without doing any research. I ordered the Light Sea Bream Soba for 950 yen and the Tuna Pickled Rice Bowl for 350 yen. The shop, run by a female owner, had a spacious interior with only an L-shaped counter. After waiting for 5-6 minutes, the dishes arrived. The Light Sea Bream Soba was a salt-based soup. The transparent soup looked beautiful. The toppings included shredded and grilled sea bream, green onions, chashu, yuzu, komatsuna, seaweed, and shredded red pepper. The attention to detail in presentation was evident. The soup had a slightly salty edge, but it paired well with the noodles. The pickled rice bowl had plenty of tuna for its price. The colorful shiso leaves added to the visual appeal. Not only did it look good, but the pickling was also well done. The menu had a variety of options, including chilled noodles in the summer, so it's a shop worth keeping an eye on.

I enjoyed a delicious salt ramen with a rich flavor of clams and scallops in a clean and welcoming restaurant that is easy for women to visit alone. The soup had a hint of butter, giving it a unique seafood taste different from other restaurants. The seafood salt ramen was delicious!

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I ordered the soy sauce ramen with clams and scallops, with extra noodles, and the marinated tuna bowl. It was served in about 7 minutes. The soup was well-balanced and delicious. The chashu pork was perfect with just one slice. Personally, I think it's better to stick to seafood toppings only. The marinated tuna bowl was also delicious, especially the sauce on top of the rice bowl. It was really tasty. I will definitely come back again!

The red sea bream soba for 950 yen is a full-on fish experience! I was tempted by the small bowls as well, but I was worried about not being able to finish them, so I started with the Ramen with green onions, which was normal, white onions, which was normal, seaweed, which was good, boiled komatsuna, a nice break for my chopsticks, chashu, delicious meat, shredded sea bream, with a toasted aroma, yuzu, as expected, and the noodles, a unique blend of somen and ramen, straightforward but with a distinct taste that I liked. The soup, or rather the wild seawater broth, and the clams also caught my attention. I'm also curious about the small bowls. I must go back again soon.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I ordered the special shijimi and scallop soy sauce ramen with rice. It was served in about 5 minutes. First, I took a sip of the soup... it was amazing!! Is this soup close to the pinnacle of seafood-based soups? The balance is excellent. The flavor of the shellfish is condensed and there is no off-flavor at all. I was quite impressed. This time, I ordered the special, but the chashu that disrupts the balance of seafood was a bit annoying haha. It's the first time I've felt that chashu was getting in the way of eating ramen (^_^; Next time, I will order the regular ramen and add a seafood rice bowl. Wow, I found a good restaurant. It was delicious, I will definitely come back (^_^)/

Near Taito 1-chome, there were a few ramen shops with long lines, but I was in the mood to eat quickly, so I chose this place known for its "Chikara" style (self-named). They had a variety of small rice bowls to choose from, making it hard to decide. I ordered the scallop and clam flavored egg soy sauce ramen and the roast pork bowl with green onion salt sauce. The female owner, who had a knack for efficiency, quickly served the dishes in just over 5 minutes. The clam-infused light broth paired well with the thin noodles, topped with thinly sliced roast pork and two baby scallops. It also had shredded green onions, baby leeks, komatsuna, and a sheet of seaweed, as well as a seasoned egg. You could tell that the roast pork and green onion sauce were made with care. A colleague who tried the salt ramen found it too light and wished they had chosen soy sauce instead. It was truly delicious and satisfying, both physically and emotionally, but recommending it to others is a bit tricky. It would be nice if they offered a choice of noodles.

I visited the restaurant in the evening. It's a seafood-based ramen shop that I have visited many times. I always order the "special" ramen and a rice bowl, and this time I had the special soy sauce ramen with clams and scallops for 1250 yen, and a green onion and pork rice bowl for 250 yen. The soup has a rich flavor from the seafood broth, making you feel like you're by the ocean. The thin noodles have a great texture and pair well with the soup. The dish was very luxurious with 2 seared scallops, 8 slices of rare pork, a boiled egg, spinach, green onions, and 2 sheets of seaweed. The portion size was generous and satisfying. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Near Ueno-Okachimachi, I searched for a ramen shop on Tabelog and decided to visit Uminochikara since it was close by. I ordered the salt ramen with red snapper and the squid marinated rice bowl. The female owner seemed busy managing the shop alone, but the dishes were served relatively quickly. The aroma of the fish stock from the red snapper bones was strong and refreshing, with a hint of yuzu adding a nice touch. It was a delicious meal.

Today's brunch was at "Umi no Chikara" located between Tokyo Metro Naka-Okachimachi Station and Akihabara Station. It is a seafood ramen restaurant (photo 1) that I had been wanting to visit for a while. The menu displayed outside the restaurant (photo 2) showed their opening time at 11 am. When I arrived around 11:10 am, there was already one customer inside. I purchased the "Special Sea Bream Ramen (¥1,250)" and a "Zosui Set (¥200)" using the ticket machine on the right side upon entering. After handing in my ticket, I poured myself a glass of water and took a seat. In about 3 minutes, my order arrived (photo 3). There were pepper and shrimp-flavored shichimi on the table, which I sprinkled generously. The soup was light and clean, typical of seafood ramen, perfect for a morning meal. The rice with toppings (Zosui Set) was meant to be enjoyed with the soup poured over it, and it was also delicious. While the price was reasonable, the unique flavor of the dishes made it worth trying at least once. I highly recommend experiencing this rare taste.

Ramen shop in Okachimachi. It is located within a 10-minute walk from Akihabara or Okachimachi Station. I went to the shop before, but it was closed because it was a regular holiday. I visited again and they were open this time. Visited around 2:30 pm on Saturday. There were 4 customers already there. I purchased the following food ticket at the ticket machine:
- Clam and scallop flavored egg soy sauce ramen (1050 yen)
The ramen was served in about 5 minutes. A woman was working alone, but the service was very smooth. It was a soy sauce ramen with lots of ingredients. The impact of having scallop shells in it gives it a "power of the sea" feel! The ingredients included chashu, seasoned egg, scallop, white and green onions, seaweed, spinach, etc. The soup had a strong clam flavor and the aroma of scallop butter was amazing! It was packed with shellfish essence. Also, it had kelp, dried shrimp, bonito flakes, and mackerel flakes, giving it a rich seafood flavor. They also have various seafood bowls on the side menu, which is great for seafood lovers. It was a fantastic ramen!

JR Okachimachi Station and JR Akihabara Station are about halfway between, about a 10-minute walk from either station. The area is not very crowded and peaceful. There is no waiting outside during lunch on holidays. Inside the restaurant, there is only an L-shaped counter seat, with a female owner managing the place alone. The menu mainly consists of seafood ramen and a variety of rice bowls. There is a shop card for "Hotate Biyori" displayed, so there seems to be a connection. After some thought in front of the ticket machine, I chose the tuna tsukemen with seasoned egg and the toro-taku don. Despite being short-staffed, the service was efficient. First, the toro-taku don arrived, followed by the tuna tsukemen. The noodles were thin with a slight wave, firm with a good texture. When dipped in the gentle marinated sauce with the scent of sea bream, the smoothness doubled, making it delicious. Although I chose the toro-taku don this time, there are over 10 other rice bowl options, and if the price was around 200 yen less, you could choose more varieties. It was a ramen and rice bowl that made you feel the power of the sea.

Red squid bowl (today's special) It was also a red squid bowl last time. Topped with large shiso leaves, red squid with a hint of sesame oil and soy sauce, sliced green onions with salt, seared scallops, 2 pieces of seared scallops, 6 slices of roasted pork, shredded red chili peppers, white leeks, butter soy sauce flavored komatsuna, flavored half-cooked egg. The chef mentioned that they couldn't get surf clams, so they used clam broth instead. It was delicious. The overall taste was gentle and easy to eat. Thank you for the meal.

Clam and scallop soy sauce ramen with half rice for 950 yen plus 50 yen. The lunch used to come with free half rice before, but unfortunately that is no longer available. However, the ramen here is delicious with tasty noodles and flavorful soup, which I love. The scallops were delicious. I used to enjoy the shrimp white broth ramen, so it's a shame that it's no longer on the menu.

I chose the large sea bream ramen. The noodles were very thin and had a nice yuzu flavor. The seasoned egg and broth were delicious, and the sea bream flakes were grilled perfectly, giving a crispy and fragrant taste. The shrimp seven spice added an extra kick to the flavor. Thank you for the delicious meal!
