I had been curious about this place that I often use for lunch or takeout, so I decided to try it out at night. First, I ordered the beer set for 980 yen (excluding tax). The set includes draft beer, 3 grilled dumplings, 2 pieces of fried chicken, and one dish of your choice from 8 options. I chose the stir-fried eggs, wood ear mushrooms, and pork (TKB). The draft beer arrived first, which was a relief as it wasn't slim. The TKB dish arrived with plenty of eggs, pork, and a bit of wood ear mushrooms, along with bamboo shoots and bok choy. The eggs were fluffy, and the seasoning was mild with a hint of garlic slices, so be careful if you have a date later. The fried chicken followed soon after, with a crispy batter that didn't get soggy despite being pre-seasoned with vinegar and soy sauce. Since the beer ran out, I added a highball for 280 yen, which seemed to be a popular choice among the other 7 customers in the restaurant. The dumplings were large, with a firm texture and a generous filling of meat, leeks, and minimal garlic. I had another highball refill, but the portion of food was so generous that I should have added a bottle of beer instead. As it was late and I needed to wrap up, I ordered the five-flavor tanmen for 680 yen. The tanmen had a light soy soup base with Cantonese noodles, and included small fried shrimp and baby scallops for a satisfying and filling end to the meal. The total bill came to 2,442 yen. This place is a great deal for both lunch and dinner.
