On the second day of the Tokyo gourmet tour, after enjoying a delicious soba lunch, I stumbled upon a quaint takoyaki shop called "Takobozu" in a quiet residential area while strolling towards the station. The menu included takoyaki, takosen, and shaved ice. I was surprised to find that 6 pieces of takoyaki were only 150 yen, which is incredibly cheap! They also offered a discount for larger orders, with 18 pieces originally priced at 450 yen but reduced to 350 yen, and 30 pieces for 750 yen but discounted to 550 yen. Despite my skepticism as a true Osakan that Tokyo takoyaki wouldn't be as tasty, I decided to try 6 pieces. Sitting on a bench outside the shop, I opened the container and was greeted by the savory aroma of the sauce. Memories of eating takoyaki for Saturday lunch during elementary school flooded back. The takoyaki was slightly smaller in size, with a slightly crispy exterior and a soft and creamy texture inside, likely from the use of yam in the batter. The octopus inside was decently sized and the flavor was unexpectedly delicious, with a hint of nori adding to the overall taste. Despite not being very hungry, I couldn't resist finishing all 6 pieces due to their affordable price and delicious flavor. This takoyaki shop could easily become popular even in Osaka with its snack-like appeal. Thank you for the delicious treat.

I finally visited a ridiculously cheap takoyaki shop that I had been curious about. I got 12 takoyaki for 230 yen and takosen for 100 yen. The weather was nice, so I had them served on a plate and ate them on a bench outside the shop. When it comes to making cheap flour-based snacks, the trick is to add more water, but making takoyaki with a lot of water can be difficult to cook, so it requires some skill. When done right, the takoyaki turns out with a crispy outside and a gooey inside, giving it a unique deliciousness. In the end, I believe that extremely cheap takoyaki is usually tasty and cannot be replicated at home. Even though they are small and soft, the texture of the octopus is charming. The takosen also tasted delicious, with the crushed dough being creamy and the moisture absorbing the flavor of the soup stock. Eating takosen in the autumn evening breeze felt nostalgic, like coming back from a middle school club activity. I felt happy. However, if this shop was on my usual shopping route, I might end up buying too much. It's a good thing it's slightly out of my usual area... It's nice to think that the local children are growing up with this taste. It's a great shop... Thank you for the meal.

There is a takoyaki shop in a residential area of Kameari 2-chome, about an 8-minute walk from the south exit of Kameari Station. The takoyaki here is very cheap at 6 pieces for 130 yen. I visited around 1:45 PM and ordered 30 takoyaki for 530 yen, even cheaper than the regular price. The shop has a cozy atmosphere and you can eat inside as well. The takoyaki was ready in about 7 minutes and was served hot with nori and sauce. It was a bit messy to eat with a toothpick, so I switched to chopsticks. The takoyaki stayed warm thanks to the foil lining in the container. As time passed, the takoyaki became easier to eat. It was satisfying for the price. It's a great snack for kids. Next time, I might come back with my child to try their shaved ice. Thank you for the meal.

While walking, I stumbled upon a surprising find in a residential area that only locals would know about. It was a small place offering takoyaki for an unbelievable price of 130 yen for 6 pieces. You can eat inside or sit on the bench outside. The takoyaki is small but delicious, with a gooey and hot filling. It has a nostalgic feel of a traditional snack shop. It's a great option for kids as well. They also serve shaved ice.

I stopped by Kameari while taking a walk. It's located in a residential area, so it's a bit hard to find, only locals seem to come here. It feels like eating at a regular home. I sat outside on a chair to eat. The price is 130 yen for 6 pieces!! It's surprisingly cheap. Maybe it's more like a snack. I will stop by again on my walk.

I happened to find this place on the way back from Kameari with my kids on bicycles. The kids wanted to eat takoyaki, so we stopped by. I recommend the negibouzu with soy sauce, mayonnaise, and lots of green onions. The hot takoyaki goes perfectly with it. The regular takoyaki is soft and small, just right for one bite. And the surprising thing is the price! It's so cheap that it's almost worrying. It seems like just one lady is running the place, so I hope she stays healthy because I want to keep coming back. Thank you for the meal!

When there is no one passing by in front, I tend to be attracted by the cheapness and end up stopping. Although I thought about trying a taste I haven't had before, I decided to go with the normal one that had just been made. I brought it home and tried it out! Now, as for the taste... It doesn't have the trendy crispy or fluffy texture. It has a traditional, thick floury texture throughout. Compared to the hollow, gooey takoyaki popular nowadays, this one fills you up faster but can make you feel a bit heavy. Since it's a flour-based dish, digestion is quick and there are no issues. I bought a pack of 18, so I'll try changing up the flavor halfway through. At the shop, you can add mayonnaise for an extra 30 yen, but this time I'll use our own Kewpie mayonnaise at home. Adding mayonnaise makes the floury takoyaki smoother and easier to eat due to the oil content. Personally, I prefer quantity over quality, so I'll continue trying out various toppings at home before attempting to conquer the shop's flavors.

Introducing a review of a popular spot for kids in the back alleys of Kameari, Katsushika-ku, called "Takobozu." This place sells cheap takoyaki that is a hit with the local kids. Located about a 10-minute walk from Kameari Station, Takobozu is tucked away in a quiet residential area. The prices are unbelievably low, with 6 takoyaki for only 110 yen. The shop has a space where you can eat in, resembling a nostalgic retro candy store where kids can hang out after school. The atmosphere takes you back to a time when things were simpler. I tried the takoyaki and shaved ice, which were decent when freshly made. However, the quality diminishes if you take them home as souvenirs. Overall, I recommend this place for families with kids.

This week, I went in search of cheap takoyaki again. The store supposedly opens at 1 pm, so I went around 1:30 pm and there were already a lot of customers gathered in front of the store. It was so crowded that I couldn't figure out the order, but I managed to find a gap and placed my order somehow. This time, I ordered the recommended negibouzu and cheese-flavored takoyaki. The store is really popular, with people ordering almost 30 pieces each, so even though they can cook 120 pieces at once on 4 griddles, they quickly run out during peak times. As a result, the waiting time is quite long, about 20 minutes. I mistakenly thought it was my turn when the takoyaki was ready, but it turned out to be for someone else. I ordered takosen ice cream, which I couldn't take home, so I sat on a wooden two-seater chair outside and ate it. The ice cream was only 100 yen, which seemed very reasonable. The takosen was cut in half, with one half having ice cream on top and the other half used as a spoon. The ice cream and takosen maintained their separate flavors even when eaten together. The takoyaki was taken home for later enjoyment. The cheese flavor was subtle, not overpowering, and the negibouzu had a light soy sauce taste with a hint of mayonnaise. Despite the limited amount of negi, it was still satisfying for the price. I would like to try other flavors in the future.

In a narrow alley, there is a quietly operating budget takoyaki shop! Located in a place where only locals would know, it's not a place where people would go out of their way from the station, so it's truly a hidden gem of a shop. This shop is known for its extremely affordable prices! In the past, there used to be quite a few small takoyaki shops where kids could have them as snacks, but nowadays, most places charge three to four times more for just six pieces. This shop is a blessing for those who prefer quantity over quality. Intrigued by the low prices, I couldn't help but order 18 pieces to take home and try! Now, how do they taste? They are far from the trendy textures like crispy or fluffy, but they have a nostalgic feel with a thick coating of batter. Despite the small size, there is octopus inside, and the attention to detail like lining the plastic container with aluminum foil for heat retention and brushing sauce on the foil is impressive. It seems like they offer various flavors, so it doesn't seem like you'll get tired of them easily. While they are not incredibly delicious, it feels like a takoyaki party at home could be held at this shop. For families with many kids, this shop offers unbeatable value! 🐙

Visited around 13:30 on a regular day. Purchased a pack of 24 for 450. The clams were small in size. The sauce had a hint of acidity. Overall, the flavor was mild.

Katsushika-ku in Kameari finished work early, so I made a little detour on the way home. I headed to a popular takoyaki shop in Kameari called "Takobozu". They make the takoyaki right in front of the shop, so many people buy them and go on their bikes. There is a 4-person table on the left side called the "Sunroom" for eating in. It's nice in this season, but in the middle of summer, it's more like a sauna room (sweat). The menu is surprising and has been the same price since 2009. The lady is diligently making them, so they are always freshly made. First, let's try the "12 pieces of takoyaki for 210 yen". They were just cooked, so the wait time is only 1 minute. Hot, hot, hot! The takoyaki is crispy on the outside, and when you bite into it, the inside is soft and gooey. It's so hot that it feels like your tongue is swelling, but it's incredibly delicious. Next, I ordered the shop's specialty "15 pieces of negibozu for 350 yen". This takes about 6 minutes to cook. It's a deluxe version with sauce, bonito flakes, chopped green onions, and mayonnaise on top of the delicious takoyaki. This one comes in a set of 15 pieces, so feel free to have 30 pieces if you can! Be careful with the mayonnaise as it might cause burns, but more importantly, the takoyaki itself is hot, so be cautious (sweat).

From the south exit of Kameari Station, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to a quiet spot nestled deep in a residential area, away from the bustling shopping street in front of the station. It's tucked away in a narrow street near the old residential area, making it easy to miss as you pass by. Despite the lack of foot traffic on the narrow road, a mother was busy cooking at the grill in front of the shop, even on a weekday evening. Perhaps there are quite a few local customers. There is a small bench in front of the shop, so I thought about eating there, but just before I could, a sudden shower made the bench wet. The owner kindly suggested eating inside instead. I didn't notice at first, but when I opened the sliding door facing the street, I found a cramped space with four-seater tables squeezed in. The takoyaki comes in a plate of 12 for only 210 yen! What a bargain! If you opt for takeout, it will cost an extra 10 yen, probably due to the disposable container. The takoyaki is more like a bite-sized snack than a one-bite size, similar to a mini-sized takoyaki. The price is also as cheap as 10-yen manju. Even elementary school kids can afford it with their pocket money, making it a great snack option. The outer layer and inner dough are both fluffy and soft, typical of Osaka-style takoyaki. The owner cooking them is also from Osaka. Despite the small size, the satisfaction level is high, making it highly recommended.

If you can come without getting lost from Kameari Station South Exit, it's about a 6-minute walk. This local shop is tucked a little ways back from Kame-no-Ko-do. While Higuchi is known for cheap takoyaki in Kameari, this place is a favorite among kids and teenagers, an oasis. The prices are astonishing - 6 takoyaki for 110 yen, 12 for 210 yen, 18 for 310 yen, and 24 for 410 yen. They even offer takosen for 90 yen. There is a hidden eat-in space if you open the sliding door on the right. The nonchalant attitude of the staff is comforting. Let's not get caught up in whether the taste is good or not. It's not a place you would go out of your way to visit, but it's the kind of place you'd want to bring close friends to.

Kameari is a famous area known for manga, and it was featured on the new BS-TBS program "Onna Sakaba Hourouki #007". The main highlight was the affordable and delicious seafood dishes at the popular pub called Happy, but before that, Eriko Koga visited a place called Takobozu, where you can get 6 pieces of takoyaki for 110 yen. I, being a fan of TV shows, went there right after watching it. The restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from JR Joban Line Kameari Station. From the south exit of Kameari Station, go next to Mitsubishi Tokyo UFJ Bank to Yu Road. Cross Yu Road and take the narrow alley next to the Shashin no Ie shop on the corner. As you walk down the alley, you will find the shop on your right. It's a popular spot for local students due to its location and affordable prices. Takoyaki for 6 pieces costs 110 yen, shaved ice for 110 yen, and takosen for 90 yen, making it enjoyable even with a child's allowance. When I visited on a Sunday afternoon, it was packed with teenagers. You can buy drinks from the shop's vending machine and eat inside. The shop is alcohol-free and caters to a wholesome youth-friendly environment. A box of 20 takoyaki costs 360 yen, but you can also get a pack to take home. I ordered a pack of 18 takoyaki for 310 yen and 15 negibozu for 350 yen. It takes about 5-6 minutes for the takoyaki to cook. Since the seating area was full of teenagers, I decided to take the food home. The negibozu was takoyaki with plenty of green onions and mayonnaise on top of soy sauce-flavored takoyaki. The batter and octopus inside were small but filling, and apparently, the batter contains yam. The takoyaki with sauce had more quantity than quality, but it was a nostalgic experience to enjoy takoyaki like a child again. When I was young, I was satisfied as long as the food was cheap and filling.

From the south exit of JR Kameari Station, walk through Kameari Ginza Shopping Street, cross the old Mito Kaido, enter a residential area, and head south down a one-way alley next to Shounji Temple. At the corner, you will find a shop with a quaint exterior that looks like a converted house with a window counter, marked by an aged octopus picture awning. Despite being a takeout-only shop for takoyaki, they have elegant Art Deco-style chairs set up outside. The menu primarily features "Kansai-style takoyaki," with additional options like cheese, curry, kimchi, and ginger flavors. Noteworthy is the pricing, starting at 110 yen for 6 pieces of "Kansai-style takoyaki." Even buying 30 pieces only costs 510 yen, an unbeatable price. I bought 12 pieces for 210 yen to go. Each takoyaki, though small, is packed with tender octopus, cabbage, and a gooey batter inside a thin shell, and they taste delicious. Kameari's soul food is not to be underestimated.

I had a satisfying meal at Soba-ya, but there was a place that caught my attention and I had to visit - a takoyaki shop. I had never been to a takoyaki shop in Kameari, but I heard about this place from a blog where someone said it was better than the recommended takoyaki shop by the Katsushika-born star (?) Uchiyama. I went to this takoyaki shop called Takobozu. They offered 6 pieces for 110 yen, 12 pieces for 210 yen, 18 pieces for 310 yen, and I decided to go for the affordable 18 pieces. The first 12 pieces were almost ready, and the remaining 6 pieces were being cooked as I waited. I decided to eat them at a nearby park, as it seemed a bit sketchy to eat them there. The takoyaki was delicious, with a nice texture from the yam inside. The octopus was small, but at this price, I couldn't complain. They were light and easy to eat quickly. The soft texture made it a bit difficult to eat with a toothpick. If I have the chance, I would like to take my children there.

I passed by this place and was about to walk past when I saw the sign saying "6 for 120 yen". I was surprised at how cheap it was for takoyaki. I decided to try it and ordered a takeaway for 120 yen. The takoyaki was crispy on the outside and hot and gooey on the inside, with a good amount of octopus inside. The taste was like regular takoyaki but had a nostalgic feel to it, like a childhood snack. It's a great place and I will definitely come back again.

I've been living in Kameari for a while, but I didn't notice this place until I saw it on Tabelog. It's located deep in a residential area, so it's a bit hard to find. After shopping at Ario, I went straight there. The staff was quick at making the takoyaki, and before I knew it, I had 18 pieces to take home for 310 yen. When I opened the bag at home, I found that the takoyaki was a bit small but packed full. The aroma of bonito flakes, nori, and sauce was delicious, and I finished them in no time. The takoyaki had a soft dough but you could still feel the texture of the octopus. I wish I had checked their business hours, but since it's nearby, I'll definitely go back again!
