The 5000 yen course with added favorite sake was surprisingly high in cost performance considering the spacious interior and attentive service. The maguro tuna sashimi at Yamayuki was delicious with plenty of umami. The sake was also very tasty. The seared mackerel sushi was decently good. The shabu-shabu had sweet meat fat and was delicious, exceeding its price (except for the red konjac from Omi). The curry udon as a finishing dish and the matcha pudding were also not bad.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice! We had the shabu-shabu with pork, sea bream, and bamboo shoots, and they were all delicious. Especially, wrapping the pork in plenty of leeks and dipping it in the broth was the best. I heard they have branches not only in Kyoto but also in Tokyo, so I would like to try it next time!

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant on a Saturday night in May at 8:30 pm. About 60% of the customers were foreign tourists, so I recommend making a reservation before going. Despite the rain, the umbrella stand was secure with a lock, so there was no need to worry about theft (although mine mysteriously disappeared...). The shabu-shabu was only available as a set course, and I chose the recommended Kyoto course this time. The sesame tofu at the beginning had a chewy texture with a rich sesame flavor enhanced by the light broth. The bonito with yuzu pepper had a punchy taste and was delicious, while the chawanmushi with yuba had a crab sauce topping and was very tasty. The sea grapes were tender enough to eat the stems, and the main pork dish had a sweet fattiness that paired well with the broth-based sauce. They provided a generous amount of green onions as a condiment, which made wrapping the pork even more delicious. The meal ended with udon, and you could top it with curry powder if you liked. The dessert was a strawberry and matcha pudding, which was also delicious with a mild bitterness and creamy texture. The service was excellent, but the restaurant may not be ideal for those looking for a more relaxed dining atmosphere. Thank you for the meal ☺️

I visited Kyoto Nihouto for the first time! I was excited as I entered the store. The atmosphere of the restaurant was elegant yet not at all snobbish. I arrived at 7:00 PM, right during the busy peak hours, but the staff were all working efficiently with smiles on their faces. The main dish was shabu-shabu, and surprisingly, the pot was made of paper (or at least it felt like paper when touched). I was amazed that we could enjoy shabu-shabu with this! I ended the meal with noodles and left feeling very full and satisfied.

I visited this restaurant on the first day of my trip to Kyoto. The all-you-can-drink option is available for groups of four or more. The seared mackerel was delicious, especially when it was seared right in front of us. The meat, served with plenty of green onions, was also very tasty. The crab was a bit pricey at 3500 yen for two thin legs and one claw.

This was my third visit. I was able to make a reservation for Saturday evening the day before. (Note: 7pm was fully booked, but 6pm and 8pm were available.) It's a bit of a walk from Hankyu Kawaramachi, but still within walking distance. Despite arriving a bit late, they greeted me warmly. The interior is modern with stylish tatami mats and tables. I reserved the 7500 yen course. Before the shabu-shabu, three appetizers were served, all of which were elegant and enjoyable. I added two sets of Kyoto pork to the beautiful hot spring pork. If you're a woman, I think the standard portion is sufficient without any additional orders. I was recommended the Kyoto pork, and it was delicious with a sweet taste when chewed. I forgot to take a picture of the pork... Lastly, we had udon and matcha pudding as the finishing touch. With the beautiful hot spring pork course, two sets of Kyoto pork, and three drinks, the total was around 22,000 yen. I would like to visit again when I come back to Kyoto.

Gourmet Tour Day 2. Looking for a Kyoto-style meal...! We arrived at this restaurant. We made a reservation on the same day. The exterior has a nice atmosphere and the interior is calm. We had the 5000 yen course and it was so satisfying! The sukiyaki was delicious with lots of green onions. We also got to taste Kyoto vegetables, and the meal ended with udon and dessert. We had plenty of meat as well. The young waitresses and waiters were efficient and left a good impression. Overall, very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I mistakenly made a reservation at the wrong branch, but they warmly welcomed me and assured me that it was no problem at all. Thank you very much for that. I only had a little to eat, but I ended up ordering the most cost-effective course. I was worried if I could finish it, but it turned out to be just the right amount. The side dishes were delicious and there was nothing to complain about! Of course, the shabu-shabu was also delicious, and the unlimited green onions were a nice touch! I definitely want to visit this restaurant again next time!

I had a course of dashi shabu shabu from lunchtime. It was my first time trying dashi shabu shabu, and I was surprised to find such a stylish restaurant in Karasuma. The interior was spacious with both sunken kotatsu and regular tables. The course included sesame tofu dashi shabu shabu with vegetables, shirataki noodles, meat, bamboo shoots, and fish. It also came with fresh udon noodles and two drinks. Alcoholic beverages were available. I left feeling full and satisfied - it was delicious!

I was taken out for a birthday lunch! It was really great! The service was like a ryokan and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The shabu-shabu style was eating with broth, and you can enjoy dishes that make use of Kyoto ingredients. I will definitely come back again. LOL

I completely underestimated Kyoto on Saturday from 6pm to 7pm... Every time I tried to get in, they said "We're fully booked with reservations." Really? I was feeling discouraged after a series of rejections, but I decided to try my luck at a slightly upscale-looking place, and I was able to get in! It was snowing that day, so I was grateful. What I had: - "Murasaki" for 5,000 yen: I enjoyed the sweet and delicious pork in broth, along with sashimi, dessert, and 4 other dishes. The specialty "shabu-shabu" and udon as the finishing touch were also included. Perfect for a meal with close friends or a date. The generous amount of green onions made the dish even more delicious, balancing out the sweetness of the meat with the spiciness of the onions. - "Sora" in a glass: The claim on the menu that people come specifically for the shabu-shabu broth is true. It's truly impressive. I stay in this area every time I visit Kyoto, and I'm already thinking about coming back again.

I made a reservation for the Four Seasons Kaiseki course for ¥6,500. It seems that if there are 6 or more people, you can reserve a private room for an additional fee. Since we were 5 people this time, we had a semi-private room. We enjoyed dishes like sesame tofu, yuba steamed with an egg sauce, amberjack, seared mackerel sushi, etc. For the main dish, we had pork shabu-shabu, and the meal ended with sea bream dashi chazuke. It's a perfect place for entertaining clients or guests.

For my younger brother's birthday celebration, we reserved a shabu-shabu restaurant that he wanted to visit. The atmosphere was set right from the entrance, starting with a sesame tofu appetizer, followed by amberjack sashimi, mackerel sushi, and finally the main shabu-shabu course. Each bite of the shabu-shabu with plenty of chopped green onions and yuzu pepper was amazing! The handmade udon noodles for the finishing touch were also delicious. Overall, we had a very satisfying experience from start to finish, although the staff didn't come when we rang the bell.笑

I had the lunch course at Akane. The clear broth shabu-shabu, enjoyed with a ponzu-based dipping sauce mixed with plenty of green onions, was so delicious that I felt like I could eat as much meat as I wanted. The yuzu pepper, with its spicy kick and refreshing yuzu fragrance, was perfect for someone who loves spicy food like me. The udon noodles at the end were served with a dipping sauce mixed with curry powder. I was skeptical at first about the combination of ponzu flavor and curry powder, but it turned out to be surprisingly delicious, and I couldn't help but drink the dipping sauce. The amberjack sashimi with ponzu and grated daikon was blanched and had a delicate flavor that left me wanting more. The food and ambiance of the restaurant were great, but I was a bit disappointed that there weren't enough chopsticks for everyone and that it took 30 minutes for the food to arrive even though we had a reservation. When I asked for a refill of tea, I was told to wait a bit because it had been forgotten. The restaurant was almost full, so I understand that they were busy, but personally, I was a little let down since it was a special lunch, so I'll give it 3 stars. I wanted to take photos of the food, but I was so hungry from skipping breakfast that I ate everything quickly, and all I have are pictures of the vegetables I took while waiting, haha.

I came to Kyoto and wanted to try a dish with dashi or Kyoto vegetables, so I visited this restaurant for lunch. I had pork shabu-shabu in a modern and traditional Japanese atmosphere. I upgraded to Kagoshima's delicious pork for an additional 500 yen. First, I put vegetables and wheat gluten in the pot, waited a bit, then added the pork. The broth had plenty of green onions, and when eaten together, the sweetness of the pork, the texture of the green onions, and the refreshing aftertaste all combined to make it delicious. For the finishing touch, I added fresh udon noodles to the broth with curry powder, creating a light curry udon. I enjoyed the soup with plenty of pork flavor from the pot, and the portion was just right.

I visited the restaurant as my partner made a reservation for my birthday. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely and charming from the moment you enter. You have to take off your shoes right at the entrance. We ordered a course menu which included sesame tofu, sashimi, steamed egg custard with sauce, and different types of meat - pork and beef, each with a different dipping sauce. Eating them with green onions was delicious! The broth they were served with was so flavorful that it made my face light up. To finish, we had udon noodles with the same broth, and they also provided curry powder for a unique twist. It was a wonderful restaurant experience, but unfortunately, a family with noisy children arrived at the same time. The parents ignored the children running around and kept chatting loudly. It was a bit disappointing as this is not a family-friendly restaurant, and some people did not seem to understand the appropriate behavior for the setting.

I want to have a leisurely meal in Kyoto, so I came here. The elegant dashi-based shabu-shabu is delicious and you can eat as much as you want. The appetizers are just the right size, using luxurious ingredients like caviar and shark fin. The Kyoto-style shabu-shabu with wheat gluten was very delicious. The carefully selected pork shabu-shabu was thinly sliced and very tasty. I think this restaurant is perfect for entertaining guests.

A shabu-shabu specialty restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Karasuma Station. The interior has a calming Japanese atmosphere with completely private rooms, giving off a luxurious feel. During this visit, we ordered the course with Omi beef shabu-shabu. The broth, made with kombu and bonito, was delicious on its own. It was nice that we could add more to it. The meat had a rich umami flavor and a sweet taste from the fat, and when we added plenty of Kujo green onions, the balance was perfect. Not only the meat, but also the vegetables like shiitake mushrooms were delicious. The atmosphere and service were also good.
