It's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. It faces Shichijo Street, but it's a quiet and calming place. I had hotcakes and an Americano. Since there weren't many other customers, the order was served in less than 10 minutes. The hotcakes had a traditional look and a subtle sweet aroma. They were clearly cooked with care. Butter and maple syrup were served separately, so you could enjoy them as you liked. I wanted to savor the sweetness of the batter itself, so I had it plain at first. Later, I added butter or poured maple syrup on top. The hotcakes were moist rather than fluffy, and I got so absorbed in eating them because they were so delicious. I visited this time because I wanted to eat hotcakes, so I somehow didn't notice the variety of coffees available and ended up with an Americano. It was also delicious, but next time, I definitely want to try other coffees. The atmosphere inside the shop was really nice, and it's a place I'd like to visit regularly if it were in my neighborhood.

I had some time off starting today, so I decided to visit this place that I had heard was delicious before. It had been 8 years since my last visit to Kyoto, as it always feels close yet far away. The shop is located in a traditional townhouse a little ways from JR Kyoto Station. I ordered hotcakes and a café latte. The hotcakes had a slightly castella-like sweet batter, fluffy and nostalgic, which paired well with the café latte. Since I was here, I also added freshly baked scones and Darjeeling tea. The scones were crispy and very tasty, and I was happy they came with cream and jam. The unsweetened Darjeeling tea went perfectly with them. I couldn't talk to the owner this time, but I hope they are still running the shop when I visit again. ★Payment with PayPay accepted ◆Hotcakes and Café Latte (Set) 1,080 yen tax included ◆Scones and Darjeeling Tea (Set) 680 yen tax included

I found a cafe near Kyoto Station for a snack time. I ordered hotcakes cooked on a copper plate, and they were very fluffy and delicious. Adding the maple syrup and butter provided made it even more special! I enjoyed a relaxing time in the lovely interior of the cafe.

This is a cafe located in Yoneyamachi on Shichijo Street. They offer self-roasted coffee and light meals such as hotcakes, and are popular among the locals. They opened in September 2012 and are about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. You can find them by turning left at the intersection of Karasuma Shichijo and heading straight, one block before Horikawa Street. Nishi Honganji Temple is nearby. I visited in the morning and was drawn to the self-roasting machine near the entrance. The seating includes tables and counter seats in a cozy and quiet space. The cafe is run by one master, who may get busy when orders pile up but still maintains a good atmosphere. The menu includes coffee, espresso, latte, tea, hotcakes, chiffon cake, scones, and toast. I ordered hotcakes, an egg and tuna open sandwich, and the Hizuru blend coffee. The hotcakes were delicious on their own and even better with butter and maple syrup. The open sandwich was made with mayo-mixed egg and tuna on toasted bread. The Hizuru blend coffee was light with no acidity. I spent about an hour there, enjoying the tasty hotcakes and cozy atmosphere. I will remember this cafe as a nice and calm spot near Kyoto Station.

I stopped by for a snack on my way back from viewing cherry blossoms at Umekoji Park. The interior had a cozy, at-home feel, and I enjoyed a coffee and hotcakes in a relaxed atmosphere. This time, I tried ordering a café au lait, and it had a great aroma and tasted delicious!

⭕Hizuru Blend (¥500) - There is only a bicycle parking lot. Google will lead you to turn onto Uzumasa Street, but the shop itself faces Shichijo Street, so be careful. Start by warming your hands with the small cup. The coffee is hot at first. Then a flat taste comes, followed by a bit of aroma. The acidity is subtle in the aftertaste. Overall, it's a very mild and light coffee. The backmost seat is noisy due to the air conditioning, and people keep ordering coffee beans at the counter. A salaryman comes in without saying a word and automatically orders an iced coffee before falling asleep. It's a very cozy and relaxing place. ⭕Combo Plan with Nishi Hongan-ji - If you've come this far, might as well check it out. Budget (+¥0). The Ryukoku Museum exhibition is also worth seeing, as well as the building itself. Budget (entrance fee +¥550).

I visited for lunch. The exterior is mint green and the side is covered with green ivy, creating a refreshing appearance. The interior has a counter and bench seats with gentle-colored wooden furniture, relaxing background music, and a natural calming atmosphere. The owner looks cool and mature but speaks in a very kind tone, adding a sense of healing to the serene space. I chose the dry curry from the lunch menu. It's a dry curry where the rice and curry are separated! The curry is full of minced meat and very delicious. The side salad is made of warm vegetables, which seems good for the body. A drink is included, so I chose iced coffee. Thank you for the meal! (-人-)

[Ratings] The atmosphere is cute and calming, and the pancakes and tea were delicious. The owner was very kind. It was nice to see them chatting happily with regular customers, showing their good personality. It's a bit far from Kyoto Station, but it's a good place for a break after getting off the Shinkansen. ★3.5 [Reason & Purpose] I got off at Kyoto Station from the Shinkansen and was looking for a cafe. I searched on Tabelog based on the number of reviews and decided on this place. [Location, Waiting Time, Seating, Atmosphere, Customers, WiFi, Toilet, Smoking, Stroller, etc.] About a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, near a large temple (forgot the name). They close around 5 pm, and I visited around 3 pm. The cafe has about 4-5 tables and a counter. The atmosphere is cute and welcoming. It's cute but also suitable for coffee-loving businessmen or older men, creating a comfortable environment. There is enough space for a stroller, and if there are few customers, you can connect tables to have a comfortable meal even with children. [Food] (Order, Taste, Portion, Waiting Time, etc.) - Pancakes cooked on a copper plate (¥650) - Ice Royal Milk Tea (¥600) The scones looked delicious, but I decided to try the pancakes cooked on a copper plate since it seemed to be a specialty of the cafe. They were simple but very delicious. Sharing one pancake between two people was just right. The Royal Milk Tea was also very tasty! It may be a bit pricey, but we had a relaxing and enjoyable time in the calm atmosphere. Thank you. [Service] The owner was very kind, and it was clear that they were a good person. A regular customer, a businessman, also came in and chatted happily. [Overall Rating at the Time of Posting] ★3.46 Reviews: 38 Saved: 3677

Hizuru Cafe at Nijo, Kyoto. I felt like enjoying a relaxing and heartwarming cafe time, and this place came to mind. This shop takes pride in their own roasted coffee and hot pancakes baked fresh upon ordering on a copper plate. Located near Nishi Hongan-ji Temple, it's a perfect spot for a break during sightseeing. Inside the shop, there is a small but dignified roasting machine. The master skillfully spreads butter on the copper plate, drops the batter, and keeps an eye on the pancakes while doing pour-over coffee. It's a luxurious feeling to have someone put in effort just for you. Hizuru Blend and the hot pancakes with their deep aroma are comforting. The pancakes, baked on the copper plate, are soft and fluffy, melting in your mouth. They go really well with the coffee. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered: ・Hotcakes ・Hidzuru blend coffee Price: Around 800 yen Review: The location was within a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. It was run by a couple, and the number of seats in the store felt surprisingly spacious. The hotcakes were fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness, and tasted delicious with honey and butter. The blend coffee was slightly strong but easy to drink, with a taste leaning towards Brazil and Colombia.

Walking east from Koshoji Temple along Shichijo Street, you will find a quaint coffee shop with a serene atmosphere. The shop is surrounded by small shops and residences, creating a peaceful setting. Inside, the cozy ambiance allows time to pass slowly. All the coffee on the menu is freshly roasted in-house. I tried the signature blend coffee, which had a natural aroma and a smooth flavor profile with hints of richness, acidity, and bitterness. The coffee was not too strong, but it had a pleasant and soothing effect on my body. It was a unique experience, similar to the feeling of enjoying high-quality dashi at a Japanese restaurant. This coffee truly comforted my body and soul. In the midst of international coffee chains expanding in Kyoto, it was refreshing to discover this authentic Japanese coffee experience. Grateful for the opportunity to try the Hizuru Blend coffee and the baked cheesecake.

The pancakes are simple and have a good balance of saltiness and texture. The scones for ¥200 have a strong flavor and texture. In a market filled with dry and bland American-style scones, I was satisfied with these. The coffee is clear and smooth, overall it's worth a revisit. However, as someone who is slim with no cushion on my bottom, the hard seat can be a bit uncomfortable, which is a downside. It reminded me of a pasta restaurant in Kitayama that was very delicious but also left my bottom sore.

I really wanted to eat pancakes, so I went to this cafe. The area around Kyoto Station is always crowded, so it's hard to find a cafe. It was a holiday afternoon, so the cafe was full, but I was able to get a seat after waiting for about 10 minutes. The cafe seemed to be run by a couple, and their child was doing homework at the counter. I ordered pancakes for 480 yen and Darjeeling tea for 500 yen, while my friend ordered chiffon cake for 400 yen and matcha latte (with a 100 yen discount for the cake set). At first, we sat at the counter, but then we moved to a table in the back that became available. It was a nice gesture. The pancakes had a nostalgic, simple taste and aroma. They were nicely browned and served with butter and plenty of maple syrup. The pancakes were not too sweet, so the maple syrup complemented them well. The pancakes were cooked on a copper plate, which I couldn't see, but I would have liked to watch. The tea was average, but the matcha latte had latte art and seemed to be a specialty. I have a coffee allergy, so I couldn't try their coffee, but they seemed to have a variety for coffee lovers. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make this cafe a nice place near Kyoto Station. The prices are reasonable, almost too good to be true. I definitely want to go back for the pancakes.

I arrived in Kyoto and went there right away because I had some time. It was not crowded during lunchtime on a weekday. Although it looks like hotcakes, it was actually fluffy. It was delicious.

I visited after a long time. The owner is always smiling and friendly. I tried the blended coffee. Personally, it feels a bit light, but it is still delicious. You can immediately tell that the roasting is fresh. Thank you for the meal.

I found the coffee from Guatemala to be very easy to drink and extremely delicious. The pancakes were also cooked to my preferred level of firmness.
