A small shop with a counter and three tables. The oden was delicious with rich flavors! The menu is focused on oden (with a few side dishes), so you can try various types. I especially liked the enoki mushrooms. The southern fried chicken was new to me, but I enjoyed the texture and want to try it again. The octopus with salt and sesame oil was a great combination. The potato salad made with oden eggs was also delicious.

This is Kyoto. In Kyoto, there is a restaurant located a little down from Teramachi, just off Takatsuji Street. A friend who had been wanting to come here for a while finally visited with me. Inside the restaurant, the colorful and cheerful owner guided us to the counter seats at the back. We ordered a draft beer and left the food choice to my friend. We had potato and thick fried tofu in oden, as well as shumai. The oden was cut into easy-to-eat sizes and served with a choice of condiments like hot mustard and yuzu pepper. I also recommended the potato salad made with boiled eggs and potatoes from the oden. However, I realized that it was redundant with the potatoes in the oden. But the atmosphere changed significantly, so it was okay. We also ordered the tomato oden, which my friend absolutely loved. They were surprised by how well the acidity of the tomato matched with the broth. The tomatoes were quite large, so for those with smaller appetites, it might be better to order it early and eat it at the beginning.

This is a quite difficult-to-enter restaurant. I'm not good at making reservations so I usually just show up, but I often get turned away. I've tried a few times and finally got in on this day, so I took some photos. The oden here, which is easy to avoid carbohydrates, is excellent. The flavor is light and refreshing. It's transparent. However, it's not suitable for crowded places. It's important to consider how to use this place carefully.

The landlady is very friendly while the owner seems a bit intimidating. The prices of drinks are written, but the prices of oden are not listed. It's hard to predict the total amount until the bill comes. The atmosphere is nice, but it's uncertain if we really get along well with them.

When it's this cold, oden is definitely delicious, but the taste and atmosphere of this place make it irresistible even in the middle of summer. Of course, the quality of the food is always reliable, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for Kyoto. We ended up ordering more than the young people around us, including some wine. The only downside is that it's always crowded and hard to get a seat.

It's still cold, so I feel like eating oden. Last time I came, many items were sold out, so it's time for a rematch. Can't miss the potato salad and Minami Seki fried chicken. The first time I tried Minami Seki fried chicken, I was amazed at how delicious it was. This time, I was amazed again. I've never heard of Minami Seki fried chicken anywhere else. The potato salad made by mashing the potatoes from the oden has a rich flavor, is fluffy, and addictive. I tried avocado oden for the first time, and it was really delicious. Avocado and oden go well together. The oden here is really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It's Kyoto. Kyoto, Gojo. A little down from Teramachi, there is a shop here. It popped into my head for a Kyoto drinking session after a long time. I should have called ahead before taking a taxi from the hotel to visit the shop, as it was full. Regretting, I gave my phone number to the staff and waited a bit at a nearby store. After about 30-40 minutes, the shop called and when I arrived, a seat was prepared at the counter. I started with Japanese sake right away. I asked for boiled bamboo shoots as a side dish, which were boiled in oden broth and then mixed with butter. The combination of oden broth and butter was excellent, and it paired really well with the bamboo shoots, so it was incredibly delicious. I quickly ordered another round of sake and chased it with cider, while adding the classic oden as well, which was also consistently delicious. If you visit Kyoto, this place might be a must-visit.

Next to Menya Inoshishi, a restaurant that always caught my attention because it was always full, I found a place called Daikon. The menu included Daikon (radish), Changja (Korean-style pancake), Sausage, Potatoes Salad, Minami Seki Age (deep-fried chicken), and Pork Shabu-Shabu. I don't know the prices of each dish, but with a beer, a Biwamin Chuhai, and a half bottle of Tamba wine (white), the total came to around 3,000 yen per person. The Potatoes Salad was made with eggs and potatoes from oden, and it was delicious with the flavor of the broth soaked in. The food and drinks take a while to come out after ordering, but it's a perfect place to relax and enjoy your drinks.

All the dishes I ate were delicious! The potato salad made with oden broth had a unique taste that I had never experienced before. The food was served quickly, and the drinks were brought out promptly as well. I think this restaurant is perfect for small groups or couples!

Located a short walk from the bustling street, this place caught my attention because of the rave reviews about their delicious potato salad. The storefront had quaint, slightly retro lanterns hanging outside. Inside, the restaurant was cozy and clean, with a friendly atmosphere. I sat at the counter and quickly placed my order. I started with the potato salad, which was made with boiled eggs from the oden pot, giving it a rich yet gentle flavor. I could see why everyone raved about it – it was truly delicious and I couldn't stop eating it. I also ordered tomatoes, rapeseed blossoms, and something called "Nankansen-age" based on the waitress's recommendation. The Nankansen-age had a unique texture and was surprisingly tasty. Despite the generous portions, I finished everything quickly. The octopus had a nice flavor from the sesame oil, and the rapeseed blossoms were mixed with chopped pickled radish and grated yam, creating a dish that I had never tried before. You can enjoy oden here that you can't find anywhere else. I would love for this place to become my regular spot in Kyoto. I want to explore other restaurants too, but for now, I'm happy to have landed here. I really enjoyed my visit.

Yes, this trip's most memorable and amazing restaurant! The level of deliciousness was mind-blowing! I was craving for it! I will definitely come back. The oden is delicious overall, but there are some specific oden dishes that are truly delicious. For example, the octopus oden with sesame oil and salt, the bread oden with cheese and seaweed - these may be dishes you've tried before, but they are delicious! I love the octopus flavor so I had seconds. The most memorable for me was the spring cabbage oden with herb salt and western mustard - this was seriously delicious. It was a taste I had never experienced before. I also tried avocado with herb salt and olive oil - it was amazing! The regular daikon oden and pickles were also delicious, and I will definitely come back again. Plus, it's affordable. I will definitely come back.

Kyoto night. I wanted to visit various places, so it was a ladder night. Daruma and Kingyo-san were said to be full early, but around 8:00, they might have some availability, so I decided to try my luck. After waiting for about 5 minutes, we were able to get in as they had an opening. My friend said they are always full and often get turned away. It's a popular place. This is an oden restaurant. The daikon and thick tofu were incredibly soft and soaked in flavorful broth. The daikon was so tender and didn't fall apart easily, making it easy to eat. We ordered a half bottle from the Tanba Winery. It was a sweet type of wine. Besides oden, the menu is limited. I heard it was popular, so I also tried the potato salad. It was incredibly delicious! I think the potatoes and eggs are cooked in the oden broth and stretched out with oden broth. I don't think they use mayonnaise. It was delicious. The shumai was also oden style, with mushrooms, grated yam, and broth. It was also excellent. Everything was delicious thanks to the flavorful broth. I wanted to try all the types of oden.

Kyoto. Located in Shimogyo-ku, Kyogoku-cho. This shop is a bit down from Takatsuji Street and Teramachi. It had been a long time since my last visit. Inside the shop, there was a very traditional Japanese atmosphere, but the funky-haired female owner greeted us energetically. The shop was quite busy even though it was early, so making a reservation was a great decision. We were guided to the counter seats at the back and started with a draft beer. We ordered the special egg and potato salad, as well as tomato oden. When we asked for the spring vegetable oden, it was delicious as always. Especially the potato salad exceeded our expectations and was devoured quickly. The tomato oden used large, high-quality tomatoes with the perfect balance of tomato acidity, sweetness, and oden broth. If you find yourself near Kawaramachi or Shijo in Kyoto, I definitely recommend stopping by again.

Let's have oden for dinner. I called and they said there's a table available, so I'm heading there. The female owner is cool and the atmosphere is nice. The oden is light and elegant, but the broth is rich and delicious. The oden ingredients are big, especially the chikuwa. Everything was tasty, but I especially liked the thick fried tofu. And the potato salad probably has boiled eggs in it, which goes well with drinks. I drank a lot, ate heartily, and finished the meal. Thank you for the meal! Ψ( 'ч'♡ ) ===========

On the 9th of October, my fifth activity♪(´ε` ) It's been a while since I stayed overnight, so... now that "that" has been lifted... Kyoto night♪ Let's aim high♪(´ε` ) Hmm... I found a nice-looking shop on Tabelog♪ Daruma to Kingyo-san♪ But well... there are a lot of regular customers here... (laughs) I called in advance just in case, but they were full and the estimated wait time was about 2 hours... They said they stay open late, so I made a promise to be contacted if a spot opens up, and then wandered around Kawaramachi for a while... and before even 30 minutes had passed, I got a call♪(´ε` ) Lucky me, I entered the shop♪ There were counter seats and table seats, and the atmosphere was nice♪ There were a lot of couples and groups of girls as customers... and I was... all alone♪(´ε` )b I ordered a highball... of course, aiming high♪ It's been since July? VAT69... probably my first time trying this whisky♪ It has a manly taste, I like it♪ I ordered potato salad, oden with Minami Seki-age, and shumai♪ First, the potato salad♪ It was surprisingly warm and fluffy♪ A warm potato salad♪ They said they use oden potatoes and eggs♪(´ε` ) It's gentle, warm, and delicious! The skin of the potatoes is also included, which is nice♪ I'll eat it with the mizuna on the side♪ Minami Seki-age... the age-san on the counter of the shop, seems to be from Kumamoto prefecture... It's not very thick, but it's firm... It has a unique texture that you can't easily chew through, and the broth is delicious♪ I'll dip it in a little yuzu pepper♪ The shumai is oden shumai♪ It's about twice the size of a typical shumai? The broth is flavorful♪ I wanted to order daikon and potatoes too, but my stomach can't handle much right now, so I'll save those for later... (。>﹏<。) Eggs and edamame... I thought the edamame in oden would be... but it was just plain edamame♪(laughs) However, they were lightly boiled and then stir-fried with butter, and the beans were slightly firm type♪ They told me to hold them vertically and eat them, but when I didn't pay much attention and tried to eat them... they didn't go into my mouth, instead, they flew the other way... (laughs) In the end, I had three highballs♪ But this place seems to be popular... customers keep coming in every 10 minutes... and they are politely turned away because it's full... The phone keeps ringing too♪ I was just lucky to be alone... (´ε` ) Haha It might be better to make a reservation in advance or contact them before coming♪ I'd like to come again sometime♪ Thank you for the meal♪(*´ω`*)(First visit on 10/09/2021)
