I ordered the sukiyaki set meal and the shabu-shabu set meal. The meat was so delicious that it seemed to melt in my mouth. By the way, I added an option of ponzu sauce and sesame sauce for an extra 300 yen, so I tried both. I don't come to Kyoto often, so when I do, I definitely want to try Kyoto's sukiyaki. I'm from Kyushu and prefer sweet flavors, so I thought it could be a bit sweeter, but I was able to taste the elegant flavor of Kyoto here. The rice was also very delicious. During a trip to Kyoto with my spouse, we visited the main store of "Jyuhantei". Located in a street lined with tea houses, the historic Japanese house had an aura that seemed intimidating to first-time visitors. I had seen it introduced on a certain railway-related YouTube channel as the birthplace of shabu-shabu, and it looked incredibly delicious, so I decided to give it a try. I had made a reservation in advance, so we were escorted to a private room after giving our names. We enjoyed shabu-shabu made with specially selected Kyoto beef for \10,000 per person, the most expensive lunch I had ever had. The meat was delicious, but so were the vegetables, sesame sauce, and rice - everything was amazing, and I was impressed with every bite. It may sound bad, but it made me realize that in this world, money really does matter. If you're willing to spend, you can enjoy such delicious food. I would like to try sukiyaki next time.

Beautiful dishes, antiques, and hanging scrolls add to the traditional atmosphere ❤️ The meal was a sukiyaki course. The meat was tender and easy to eat, with plenty of Kujo green onions. Usually sukiyaki gets heavy towards the end, but this one was very easy to eat and satisfying ❤️❤️❤️ I would love to visit again (^^)

◎Lunch and Drinks at Gion Hanamikoji in Kyoto◎ To enjoy a meaty lunch with some drinks in Kyoto, I visited the "Juni Dankya Honten" located on Hanamikoji in Gion. The restaurant is a charming two-story building with a traditional atmosphere. Despite being a popular spot for tourists, it was relatively calm during my visit due to the reduced number of inbound travelers because of COVID-19. I ordered the Black Wagyu Steak Bento, Beef Sukiyaki Set, and Dashimaki, all of which were delicious. Although the prices were a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food, especially the dashimaki and the meat in the sukiyaki and steak, made it worth it. I found the overall cost performance to be quite good considering the ambiance of the place. I look forward to revisiting during a more picturesque season in Kyoto, combining it with sightseeing and enjoying the delicious food at this restaurant. 😊

I went to this restaurant on the first night in Kyoto. There was a line outside the store, and the reviews on Tabelog were very good, so I decided to dine there. I ordered the tempura bowl with large shrimp. The shrimp itself was big and juicy, which was delicious. However, the other tempura items were very greasy, and the rice was also greasy. The shrimp tempura had too much sauce on it, making it greasy and overall, it was too much to eat. The rolled omelette that came with it was also mediocre. This meal was not worth the three thousand yen.

The restaurant Juunidan-ya is located a little off the main street of Gion Hanami Koji. It is a renowned original shabu-shabu restaurant. The exterior blends in with the traditional town scenery, with a history of about 150 years. The interior has a charming atmosphere, with masterpieces subtly displayed like in an art museum. I was led to a private room on the second floor, where I could relax in a calm Japanese-style setting. The lunch set menu (2300 yen) includes dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette), agadeshi tofu with yuba sauce, tempura, simmered beef, miso soup, and pickles. The tempura includes 3 shrimp tempura, and the agadeshi tofu with yuba sauce has a refined and Kyoto-like flavor. The simmered beef goes well with rice. The pickles include Shibazuke, Akakabu-zuke, and my favorite Nara-zuke, which made me happy. The highlight here is definitely the dashimaki tamago, which is exquisite! I kept coming back to the Marutamachi branch just to have it. It is fluffy and soft, and when you bite into it, the sweetness of the egg spreads along with the dashi broth, creating a blissful moment. This lunch set allows you to enjoy the traditional goodness of Kyoto's dashi, and I left completely satisfied.

The restaurant that was featured on TV, my husband who was watching the program said, "Let's go for lunch!!!" so we went to Kyoto☆☆☆ The restaurant is located on Hanamikoji in Gion, a place with many tourists from overseas! The restaurant is near Ichiriki-tei and is conveniently located. We arrived before opening time. We lined up behind those who were already waiting. The restaurant is in an old building with a traditional atmosphere, which is nice♫ We took off our shoes at the entrance and went up the stairs. We were guided to a room with a sunken kotatsu table☆☆☆ The room was decorated with various items, making it a very lovely room. My friend ordered the Jōteishoku for 2,300 yen, while I ordered the Ooebi Tendon for 2,300 yen. I love shrimp, so I didn't hesitate to order the Ooebi Tendon (*^^*) The shrimp in the tendon was really big and surprising!!! The freshly fried shrimp was crispy☆☆☆ The shrimp inside had a perfect tender texture, and it was really delicious (^_−)−☆ I usually don't eat a lot of rice, but thanks to the shrimp, I ate a lot this time, so my friend asked, "Are you okay?" and worried about me♪ The restaurant's specialty, the Dashimaki Tamago, had a rich and delicious bonito broth☆☆☆ Currently, the area facing Hanamikoji is under construction, so we entered the restaurant from the side street.

My daughter and her husband invited me to lunch. The restaurant is located on the east side of Shijo Hanami Koji, near the intersection. There was no reservation for lunch, so I arrived before the lunch rush. It was a prestigious restaurant in Kyoto. We were guided to the second floor up a narrow and steep staircase. The atmosphere was wonderful, typical of Kyoto. I ordered the beef sukiyaki set meal (2800 yen), which came with rice, sukiyaki, rolled omelette, miso soup, and pickles. I was happy to have sukiyaki as that's what I wanted to eat. The taste was as good as it looked. There was a lot of oil in the meat, which I'm not a fan of, so that was a bit disappointing. Otherwise, I was satisfied. I was very happy to have the sukiyaki I wanted to eat. By the time we finished eating and left, the restaurant was fully booked.

We had a company banquet in Gion with a majority vote for sukiyaki. We chose a restaurant with a traditional Edo to Meiji era atmosphere, full of charm. We dined in a private tatami room on the second floor and enjoyed a sukiyaki course. The meat was cut into large pieces, providing a satisfying meal. The appetizers included 5 dishes using Kyoto vegetables, offering gentle flavors. The delicious sukiyaki was prepared with care. Although a bit pricey, it's a memorable experience worth visiting again on a special occasion.

I wanted to go to a certain restaurant but couldn't make a reservation, so I tried lining up, but by the time I got to the front, they were already sold out. Feeling disappointed, I walked around and couldn't find any open restaurants for Sunday lunch. After much deliberation, I decided to try a place that didn't have a line and looked delicious. It turned out to be an amazing restaurant in Kyoto! The atmosphere was great, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious with great value. I couldn't decide between sukiyaki or something else, but because I took so long to choose a restaurant, I wouldn't have time for the traditional Japanese sweets experience I had planned afterwards. So, I opted for the sukiyaki set meal, and it was incredibly tasty. I definitely want to come back for the sukiyaki next time!

[Kyoto] Delicious Sukiyaki at Juundanya For lunch, I went to Juundanya for a slightly luxurious meal. I enjoyed a tender and delicious sukiyaki bento. The tamagoyaki was fluffy and delicious with a rich dashi flavor. The room was a private tatami room where I could relax. Thank you for the feast!

The meat is delicious! I didn't have to wait in line to eat, and this place is a hidden gem. The portion size is also good. It cost 2,500 yen. With Chimi ♪
