The storefront and atmosphere inside the restaurant were personally to my liking. An elderly couple was running the place, and the wife was using a fan because it was hot inside (laughs). We went near closing time, so many menu items were sold out, which was a bit disappointing. The highball glass was big, and I felt more drunk than usual.

Visited with my family. The assorted sashimi was delicious! I was impressed by trying whale for the first time in my life! I wanted to have seconds of just the whale♡ It was rich and chewy, kind of like the texture of horse sashimi... I really liked it! The grilled fish in Kyoto style was also tender and rich, making me want to eat it slowly (*^^*) We had a variety of fish dishes. I think we ordered about 10 dishes in total. We also had beer, but there were rare types of sake available, so my family, who loves sake, was happy to order different kinds. When we kept ordering the same brand for a refill, the landlady said, "This sake is expensive, are you sure?" But I wonder how much it costs haha It was a very easy-to-drink and delicious sake♪ It was fruity with a mellow aroma that spread out, but it went down smoothly in the throat, which was wonderful ^ ^ (I forgot the name of the brand! I'm sorry haha) We ate and drank with 5 people, and in the end, we ordered salmon roe bowl and various other dishes haha It was surprisingly cheap, totaling around 20,000 yen! I was full and happy✨ It was a delightful meal♪ I want to go again✨ Thank you for the meal (*^^*)

On this day, we went to Chidori Bridge. There was a certain izakaya that caught our attention, so we decided to go for a girls' night out. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:00 PM. The restaurant is located about a 3-minute walk from Hankyu Chidori Bridge Station, along Kitahama Street. I walked from JR Nishikujo Station and arrived in just over 10 minutes. The restaurant had a traditional izakaya appearance, with a counter with about 4 seats in the front and two small tables for 2 people each. The back area had tatami rooms with 4 tables for 4 people each. We were seated in the tatami room. The menu seemed to change daily based on the ingredients available, and there was a handwritten menu to order from. When we tried to order from the menu, the staff insisted on getting the assorted sashimi platter instead of individual items, saying, "You came all the way here in this heat, so please have the assorted platter!" in a somewhat forceful manner. Next, when we tried to order tempura, we were told, "You should have simmered or grilled dishes first before tempura," and we had to comply. We ordered grilled fish and meat. Finally, we had tempura and a rice bowl for the finish. The unexpectedly strong insistence from the gentle-voiced proprietress left us all surprised, but sometimes, this kind of restaurant is nice, isn't it? Overall, it was a delicious meal. <Food> - Assorted sashimi platter (price unknown) - Whole dried mackerel (580 yen) - Wakasa guji salt-grilled fish (580 yen) - Beef fillet steak (1,980 yen) - Iwashi (sardine) tempura (280 yen x 2) - Myoga tempura (280 yen) - Salmon roe and rice bowl (880 yen x 2) - Sea urchin rice bowl (1,880 yen) <Drinks> - Bottled beer (500 yen) - Lemon shochu highball (300 yen)

Stepping off at Chidoribashi Station for the first time... our destination is the popular izakaya "Sakasenbo Kansei." As we opened the door at the reserved time, the landlady greeted us with a smile, saying "Welcome, thank you for coming in this hot weather." At the counter, the regular customers were already enjoying their drinks. Today, we were looking forward to a girls' night out. We were guided to a cozy sunken kotatsu-style private room at the back. We started with a bottle of beer for a toast. Looking at the menu, we consulted and placed our order. When we mentioned "whale and mackerel sashimi," the landlady quickly suggested a mixed platter. She insisted that the mixed platter was the best option. It seems like the landlady's kindness in wanting us to enjoy delicious food. The sashimi platter included sea bream, octopus, salmon, ark shell, scallop, bonito, and whale skin. The courses continued with the landlady's kindness. After the sashimi, she mentioned that the next dish would be grilled and simmered. We enjoyed grilled mackerel one-night dried and salt-grilled Wakasa guji. The fillet steak we wanted was also served without any issues. The Chateaubriand steak at this price is wonderful. It was delicious with wasabi. We then switched from bottled beer to lemon shochu highball. The refreshing and delicious lemon shochu highball was perfect for summer. Tempura was also served smoothly after the grilled dishes. We had sardine tempura and myoga tempura. The sardine tempura was reasonably priced for 2 pieces. It was crispy and delicious without any fishy smell. The myoga was also cheap. The myoga seemed to be locally sourced. For the finale, we shared ikura bowls and uni bowls among 5 people. The ikura bowl was reasonably priced, and the uni bowl had an entire plate of sea urchin. M-chan divided it for us. Of course, it was incredibly delicious. It turned out to be a very enjoyable girls' night out. Thank you so much, M-chan. To all the members of the girls' night out, it was the best time spent together. Osaka, Osaka City, Konohana-ku, Umeoka 3-26-11. Phone: 06-6461-0164. Opening hours: [Weekdays] 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, [Sun/Holidays] 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Closed on Mondays and the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

On this day, we arrived at Chidoribashi thanks to my friend who made a reservation for us. The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Chidoribashi Station. I walked for about 20 minutes from JR Nishikujo Station to get there. We were guided to a sunken kotatsu table in the back of the restaurant. We started with a toast with bottled beer! Cheers! Bottled beer 500 yen, Lemon Chu-Hi 300 yen. Now, what should we order? As we were discussing, when we tried to order "whale's song and mackerel sashimi," the landlady said, "Since you came all the way, I'll bring you a sashimi platter!" and a sashimi platter was brought to us. And then, when we tried to order "sardine tempura," the landlady said, "After sashimi, you should have a simmered dish or grilled dish!" Everyone was surprised. The sashimi platter included octopus, salmon, whale's song, ark shell, scallop, sea bream, bonito, and mackerel sashimi. They were all delicious, but the prices were not listed on the menu so I'm not sure. Grilled dried horse mackerel 580 yen, Salt-grilled Wakasa gudgeon 580 yen. Both were delicious. The grilled fish was so tasty that we even enjoyed the bones. Beef fillet steak (Chateaubriand) 1,980 yen. This volume and price are quite cost-effective. It was tender and juicy, and went well with wasabi. Sardine tempura (2 pieces) 280 yen each. Two pieces for this price is very cheap. The crispy batter was delicious. Myoga tempura 280 yen. It was my first time having myoga tempura, and it was also delicious. Uni and ikura rice bowl 880 yen, Uni rice bowl 1,880 yen. A friend shared the Uni and ikura rice bowl with me. Thanks! We were able to share, so it became a luxurious bowl of Uni and ikura. The Uni rice bowl is served in a boat, which is interesting. It was also very delicious. The cost was 4,300 yen per person, which was cost-effective. I wished there was more freedom in ordering. I am grateful to my friend for coordinating and making the reservation. Thank you! Thank you for the meal!

On this day, we made a reservation for 5 people at Kinsei-san and visited at 5:00 pm on a holiday! When we arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes early, the curtain was already up, so we entered and saw that there were already customers at the counter! I love restaurants that open early, it's great! We were guided to a spacious table in the back, with two tables for 4 people each! We started with a toast and were about to order various dishes that caught our interest, but then something unexpected happened - we were basically forced into a set course menu. We ordered a sashimi platter (around 1,000 yen), but when I tried to order individual items like mackerel and whale, the owner insisted that we must have the sashimi platter. We ended up with a large platter that I didn't really want. Then, when a friend mentioned wanting to try horse mackerel tempura, we were told that we had to have simmered or grilled dishes first. It was quite surprising and we ended up ordering grilled items first. We ordered grilled mackerel (580 yen), grilled whale (580 yen), and fillet steak (Chateaubriand) (1,980 yen). The grilled dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. The fillet steak was also very tender and tasty. We also ordered mackerel tempura (280 yen for 2 pieces) and myoga tempura (280 yen). Despite not ordering simmered dishes, we were able to order tempura, which was a relief. The tempura was cheap and came with a dipping sauce for each person. Lastly, we ordered salmon roe bowls (880 yen each) and sea urchin bowls (1 box for 1,880 yen). We wanted to save these for last, but due to the owner's insistence, we couldn't. Luckily, there was only one sea urchin bowl left, and both dishes were delicious and worth the price. Overall, it was a surprising and enjoyable dining experience, and we look forward to coming back again! Thank you for the meal! ♥

I went to Kansei for some delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were friendly. We ordered a variety of dishes including pickled water eggplant, sashimi platter, simmered fish head, black beef fillet steak, conger eel tempura, mochi tempura, sea urchin bowl, salmon roe bowl, and butterbur stalk simmered dish. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. The portions were good and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant's name comes from an old restaurant in Matsushima. Overall, a fantastic dining experience at Kansei. Highly recommended!

I rode a train I've never been on before and got off at a station I've never been to, so I just followed everyone else laughing. All for the sea urchin bowl ♡♡ The restaurant had a somewhat intimidating appearance, but I'm grateful to be invited. What I ate↓↓ Nuka-zuke pickled water eggplant Assorted sashimi Chateaubriand Braised geoduck Eel tempura Mochi tempura Simmered butterbur Sea urchin bowl Salmon roe bowl Honestly, I only came for the sea urchin bowl! But... the pickled water eggplant was the most delicious I've ever had, and the sashimi even had whale song in it, making me realize it was totally different from your average izakaya. More delicious meat and fish came out, and just when I was waiting for the sea urchin ♡, I was already pretty full ^^; And there were two sea urchin boards on the table (⊙⊙)!! Does that mean... we share one board between two people!? We used half of it to complete the sea urchin bowl, and at that point, we even got some from the table next to usヾ(*ΦωΦ)ノ I was so focused on the sea urchin that I forgot to take pictures of the salmon roe and such. And on this day, I even received a celebration for my recovery from my kind friends. Grateful for such kind companions (。> <。)

It was a Mogumogu-kai event we had sometime ago. When we entered the entrance, it felt like we had reserved a private tatami room at the counter in the back. The dishes were recommended by the landlady, and the finale was the delicious sea urchin with salmon roe! It was amazing! By the way, we had to take a bus from the station to get there, and it was hot and humid. On the way back, it started pouring rain. Thank you as always! It was a feast!

After enjoying pig's feet at the famous Tonkotsu Chuka restaurant in Senbayashi, I took the Hankyu train to the main venue of the day. The next stop was "Sakasenbo Kinsei" located in Chidori Bridge. I had visited this place a few years ago but at that time, I couldn't try their famous sea urchin bowl. This time, I had pre-ordered the sea urchin bowl and Chateaubriand, but just before arriving, the hostess informed me that they might be running low on sea urchin. We were seated in the back private room, with two tables for four people each, ensuring proper social distancing. Once seated, we were informed that they were able to secure some sea urchin, which was great news. Sea Urchin Bowl (2700 yen) was presented beautifully with a whole piece of sea urchin on top of the rice, allowing us to scoop as much as we wanted onto the rice. The sea urchin melted in my mouth, it was incredibly delicious. The price has gone up to 2700 yen due to the high cost of sea urchin, but it's still worth it. The Salmon Roe Bowl (880 yen) was also a visual treat with plenty of salmon roe. We combined it with the sea urchin to create a Sea Urchin and Salmon Roe Bowl. The Chateaubriand was perfectly cooked, rare on the inside and crispy on the outside. The contrast in textures was fantastic. The sashimi platter was served individually on small plates, showcasing the kind hospitality of the hostess. It included Firefly Squid, Whale Song, Mackerel Sushi, Tuna, and Salmon, all with a delicious fatty flavor. The Water Eggplant from Senshu and the Gashira simmered in a sweet sauce were both gentle and flavorful. The Eel Tempura was crispy and delicious, while the Rice Cake Tempura was addictive. With a total bill of around 5500 yen per person, the cost performance was excellent. Despite it being seven years since my last visit, the attentive service of the hostess and the chef's dedication to the cuisine remained unchanged, making it a wonderful dining experience.

There are many regular customers. The prices are considered to be very reasonable for the quality of the food, so many people visit frequently. They offer a variety of dishes such as sashimi, grilled dishes, and simmered dishes, as well as seasonal items. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance when you have time. The husband is in charge of cooking, while the wife serves the dishes, so it may take a little longer. The restaurant closes early, so it is best to make a reservation and plan for only one seating.

The quality of the sake in this restaurant is top-notch, the dishes are reasonably priced, and the taste is exquisite. The sea urchin bowl is incredibly delicious, to the point where I almost don't want to tell anyone about it. The restaurant, which was featured on a TV show hosted by Imakura-san, seems to be bustling with regular customers. I recommend making a reservation.

A restaurant run by a married couple. The husband cooks, and the wife serves. They both manage the place together. The restaurant has a decent number of seats, so it may take some time to serve the food or take orders. Be patient... If you like places where you can raise your voice or call multiple times, this is the place for you. There is a call button at each table for that purpose. Everything is "more than worth the price." The sashimi platter looks beautiful. This time, we ordered just the salmon because we have our child with us.

Basically, the main customers are regulars. I think it would be unfortunate for both the restaurant and the customers if someone only comes for the salmon roe bowl or sea urchin bowl. It is mainly an izakaya, so those who know how to enjoy an izakaya can eat, drink, and have a good time affordably and deliciously. There are people who order "salmon roe bowl and water," but that is against etiquette. Let's enjoy ourselves while following proper manners.

All menu items are worth the price... You wouldn't find these prices at the supermarket. Cheaper than eating at home. I think the profit comes from alcohol. I come here once a month, but this time I passed on the tempura... I recommend first-time visitors to order modestly as the portion size may not match the price.

The restaurant had a lineup of famous sake brands, including Echigo and Gakushi Masamune. They also had new sake available, which was surprising. The food options were similar to before. Due to the state of emergency, they closed at 8 pm, so we left quickly.

The place is not in a good location, which is a sign of a good restaurant with regular customers at the counter. Everything is cheap and generous in portion... It offers a sense of value and satisfaction. There are plenty of sake bottles in the fridge, including high-end brands without price tags... You can enjoy it if you have knowledge of sake.

Ikura don, uni don are famous here. Basically, whatever you order, it's like "Is this really the price?" So, if you try to estimate the quality and quantity of the food from the price, you'll be off. For sake, it's a self-order style where you pick a bottle from the fridge and hand it to the staff. They have brands like Juyondai, Tatenokawa, Eikimai, Gikyo, Kyuhei-ji... There are many. If there's no price tag, you might think it's not for sale, but feel free to ask. It's probably for sale. There are some amazing brands... but I haven't dared to try them because of the prices.

I happened to pass by and decided to drop in! It was really good! I started with vinegar pickles for 380 yen. They served a small assorted sashimi plate, which was delicious. It's nice to be able to try a little bit of everything. I also had an eel tempura for 380 yen, which was a classic and tasty choice. Next, I tried the silver grunt for 580 yen, which had a deep and rich flavor. It was a unique menu item that really hit the spot. The simmered eggplant was a bit on the sweeter and richer side, reminiscent of what you might find at a traditional inn in the countryside. It paired really well with Japanese sake. I also had a sea urchin roll for 280 yen, which was surprisingly good quality for the price. Even though I had a non-alcoholic beer today, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the sea urchin roll!

It's been a while since I visited, I wish I could come more often like I used to, maybe once a week, but I haven't been able to. Today's recommendation is the grilled mackerel, it's a taste of summer! There are a lot of small bones but it's really delicious, and surprisingly cheap! It feels like being treated by a relative who is good at cooking. Surprisingly, they have a great selection of drinks, including various wines. You can't underestimate their sake either.
