From tempura to Baumkuchen, this tempura restaurant offers a variety of menu items. With many counter seats, it has a casual atmosphere that makes it easy for individuals to dine alone. While the tempura was delicious, personally, I found the pork kimchi to be especially tasty. The pork was juicy, and the kimchi combined with the batter's grease created a flavor that was hard to describe but delicious. Additionally, the asparagus, which is becoming a staple, was also delicious. I appreciated how it was cut into thirds instead of being fried as a single spear, making it easier to eat than it may appear.

For a late lunch during my trip to Osaka, around 2 PM near Shinsekai, I decided to eat kushikatsu. When I arrived at the restaurant, a customer who had just finished eating told me, "The food here is delicious." I was able to enter the restaurant without waiting in line at this time. I sat at the counter and wrote down my order on a piece of paper. I ordered kushikatsu, pork fillet, pork belly, wiener, mochi, shishito peppers, cheese-filled fish cake, and ginkgo nuts. The first thing that came out was, of course, cabbage. I dipped it in sauce and enjoyed it while waiting. After a short wait, the eagerly awaited kushikatsu arrived. The batter was crispy, not greasy, and perfectly seasoned. It was delicious. My favorites were the kushikatsu and the mochi. If you ever visit Osaka, be sure to try it out.

I stayed in Osaka for one night and two days. For my final meal, I had kushikatsu. I visited the restaurant after watching a high school baseball game. There was a 60-minute wait at Tsutenkaku, and there were many foreign tourists in the area around Shinsekai. It was lively. There were many options, but I chose this restaurant based on intuition. It was a bit hidden away. There were tatami rooms in the back, and the main seating was at the counter. You order by writing on a piece of paper and handing it in, which is the opposite of recent digital systems. It's nice. My daughter was looking forward to the rule of no double dipping in the sauce, but here you pour the sauce on, so you can dip as many times as you want. There were dozens of types of kushikatsu to choose from. Prices ranged from ¥100 to ¥250 per skewer. You can order without worrying about your wallet. The kushikatsu, pork fillet, shrimp, and mochi were especially delicious. Also, the garlic. Garlic was tasty but very strong in smell. Still, it was delicious. There were no disappointments, and any skewer you order should be satisfying. We finished with grilled rice balls. Thank you for the meal. Both tourists and locals were dining at the restaurant. It was a great place.

After the Yodogawa fireworks, on the way back to the hotel, we decided to make one last stop for a drink. We were already quite drunk, so it was more of a casual drink. We ordered a highball and a tomato chu-hi. For food, we got two orders of deep-fried skewers - camembert, quail eggs, and wiener sausages. The beef cutlet was surprisingly good for the price, with a generous amount of meat inside. The wiener sausages were also larger than expected and very satisfying. We had a great time and would definitely consider revisiting this place for a fun night out. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Visit time: 14:40, Sunday Wait time: None Menu: A la carte + Takeout After enjoying a light snack of oden at Fukagawa, I moved on to Shinsekai and visited Hanamichi. There were hardly any customers, which made me worried, but the kushikatsu was fried perfectly with a crispy texture and incredibly delicious. The ingredients were also generous, and the cost performance was excellent. It was so tasty that I ended up taking some home. Keep in mind that the crispy texture diminishes when you take it home, so it's best to eat it fresh at the restaurant. I will definitely come back to eat here again. Thank you for the meal.

After a long time, I visited Hanamichi-san in the new world. I was able to enter without waiting. The skewers had a good volume and the coating was crispy, which I like. I also ordered takeout because my children are waiting for dinner at home. Thank you for the meal.

While enjoying a Taiwan baby castella from Sen'ya Coffee, I stumbled upon a new kushikatsu restaurant nearby called "Kushikatsu Hanamichi." For lunch, I decided to try it out. The kushikatsu at Hanamichi is known for its thick and crispy coating, delicious taste, and large portions at an affordable price. The ginger pork rolls were especially delicious. I also enjoyed some beer with my meal. I definitely want to come back again.

Second stop on the New World Tonkatsu Tour. After 9 o'clock, the options become quite limited. Popular places are likely to be sold out. Since the last place was a chain, I decided to go for a more unique, individual restaurant. The breading on the tonkatsu was very crispy and well-fried, giving it a homemade feel. The pork cutlet with curry sauce on top was interesting. The mochi peeking out from the breading was a cute touch. The cozy night in Tennoji is slowly coming to an end.

I found a shop in the new world that is not geared towards tourists. It was a local favorite with a bustling counter and a great atmosphere. My friend and I had one bottle of beer and each ate about 6 or 7 skewers of kushikatsu, totaling 2000 yen. It was fantastic. The kushikatsu curry skewers were incredibly delicious.

I often go to Shinsekai, and one of my favorite places is Hanamichi, a hidden gem in the fierce competition of kushikatsu restaurants. I believe this is the most delicious place in Shinsekai. The kushikatsu here has a crispy coating and flavorful fillings. You can eat to your heart's content without feeling too full.

Today, I went to a place I've been curious about by myself in the new world (lol) ^^ I ordered from a nice motherly figure here: Draft beer for 420 yen... Many people have become draft beer refugees due to Corona, right? The desire for draft beer has increased even at Bunka! Shrimp for 240 yen... The texture is crispy and fried perfectly - the sunlight shining through is perfect! Bottled beer for 520 yen... They had Kirin and Asahi. Octopus for 110 yen... It's a bit watery, but the strong flavor from the extract is delicious ^^ Squid for 110 yen... It also has an extract, but there's no unpleasant smell and it brings out the umami. Okra for 100 yen... I thought it would come as a whole, but unexpectedly, it was sliced into rings and fried!? There's no green smell, and it's delicious ^^ The coating is crispy, and the oil is light ^^ The sauce is a fruity Worcestershire type with a good acidity. I think this level of acidity goes well with skewers ^^ This is a popular Osaka-style casual skewer cutlet that Bunka loves ^^ They take their business seriously, so there are many regular customers, right? Thank you for the meal~

I went on a quick tour of Osaka with my seniors, and we ended it with some kushikatsu here. We arrived, sat down, and ordered at 8:15 pm (the place was about half full). The food arrived around 8:30 pm. Overall, even though we didn't do any research beforehand, the food was really delicious. There was a great variety of meat, fish, vegetables, and creative dishes, all of which were excellent. The garlic was especially pungent but incredibly tasty. If you can handle it, you should definitely try it. It's a bit sad that they don't offer shared sauce anymore, but it's just the way things are these days. The three of us foodies spent a little over 7000 yen, and honestly, I thought it would be closer to 10,000 yen. Here are the details of what we ordered: - Kushikatsu (skewered cutlets) for 110 yen (first photo): Pork cutlet with a firm texture. - Pork fillet for 110 yen (second photo top): Large and refreshing pork cutlet. - Pork kimchi for 130 yen (second photo bottom): Pork and kimchi roll, surprisingly delicious. - Smelt for 110 yen (third photo middle bottom): Crispy coating with fluffy meat inside. - Shishamo smelt for 150 yen (third photo left bottom): Whole smelt with roe, delicious. - Chicken for 110 yen (third photo top): Tender and different from pork. - Asparagus for 200 yen (second photo right): Three asparagus skewers, creamy and delicious. - Lotus root for 150 yen (fourth photo bottom): Thick and fresh lotus root. - Quail eggs for 120 yen (fourth photo right): Two quail eggs, delicious creamy yolk. - Conger eel for 220 yen (third photo right): Long and thin skewer with mild white meat. - Taro for 110 yen (fourth photo top): Thick and tasty taro. - Garlic for 110 yen (second photo left): Strong-smelling but delicious garlic. - Cutlet curry for 150 yen (fifth photo top): Thinly sliced cutlet sandwiched in curry. - Pickled ginger for 110 yen (fifth photo bottom): Delicious pickled ginger.

For the second round of drinks in Osaka at night, we headed to Shinsekai for some food hopping. First, we aimed for Horumon Dojo. Unfortunately, it was full, so we headed to Nonkiya. But that was also full, so we tried Etugen. But that was closed. Finally, we ended up at Hanamichi in front of Etugen. We ordered some draft beer and a variety of skewers. Cheers to the night in Osaka! The beer was delicious and the skewers, especially the fillet, were only 110 yen each and quite large and tender. We didn't try the shrimp this time, but they were also large for 220 yen each. The lotus root was also delicious. We also ordered something called Katsu Curry, which was pork belly wrapped in curry-flavored rice. The batter was crispy and the sauce had a slightly spicy kick to it. The portion was generous with plenty of cabbage. It was a great restaurant.

When it comes to Osaka, you think of kushikatsu! And when you think of kushikatsu, you think of Shinsekai! So, I took a friend from out of town to Hanamichi in Shinsekai. Unlike other places with long lines, this shop is relatively easy to get into. But the taste is unbeatable! The hot kushikatsu goes perfectly with bottled beer! I couldn't help but eat too much... They also stay open late at night, so it's reassuring.

Night in Osaka. I am drinking in Shinsekai. I left the first place feeling a bit unsatisfied, so I am looking for a second place to drink. In the lively streets of Shinsekai, I found this restaurant a little down a side street. It has a flashy yellow sign typical of Shinsekai, and displays autographs of famous people. However, compared to other shops, it has a slightly calmer atmosphere, which caught my interest and led me to enter. The restaurant has a long and narrow layout, with a casual izakaya atmosphere. There are counter seats and table seats in the front, and it seems there are tatami seats in the back. The place is about 80% full, so it seems quite popular. As a solo customer, I was seated at the counter. I started with a draft beer and ordered skewers. I ordered skewers of chicken, octopus, sausage, quail eggs, and beef cutlet. The beef cutlet skewer was thick and satisfying, made with bread crumbs that were crispy and the sauce was tangy and spicy. I also ordered additional skewers of yam, pork cutlet curry, garlic, and pork belly. The yam was cut thick and had a crispy texture that surprisingly went well with the tangy sauce. The highlight was the pork cutlet curry, where pork and curry rice were wrapped and fried. It was a unique but delicious skewer. The shop had the master, the mistress, and a young female staff member. The master was quiet and focused on frying the skewers. The female staff were friendly and warm. The homely atmosphere, combined with the taste of Kansai dialect, added to the experience of enjoying skewers. Despite eating and drinking quite a bit, it didn't cost me more than 3000 yen. Considering the taste and quantity, the cost performance is quite good. I did a skewer crawl in Shinsekai, and realized once again that there are both good and not-so-good shops. Encountering a good shop like this by chance is one of the pleasures of traveling.

After leaving the Hormone Dojo and heading towards Koshigen-san, we encountered a long line. Koshigen-san doesn't have many seats, so it seemed like it would take a while. Since we were already quite full and a bit tipsy from the first place, we didn't feel like waiting in line. Suddenly, I noticed a nearly empty kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) restaurant right in front of Koshigen-san. In Osaka, kushikatsu is usually around 100 yen per skewer, but here they had a variety of options for over 200 yen each. I ordered a few skewers. The frying was crispy and the quality was evident, like the shrimp for 220 yen. The pork fillet was surprisingly large for just over 100 yen. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making our experience at this restaurant a pleasant one. It was a good decision to come here while a bit drunk! :-)

The interior of the restaurant is not exactly clean, but when it comes to taste, it's top-notch. The bread crumbs on the skewers may be a bit rough compared to the popular kushikatsu places for tourists. It's a great place to enjoy kushikatsu slowly with a beer. It's located in a slightly hidden alley, but that adds to the charm of the Shinsekai area.

This time, I visited Kushikatsu Hanamichi in Shinsekai. The restaurant is located in a narrow alley off the main street, a bit hard to find. I decided to go there based on the recommendation of the manager of my favorite bar. Inside the restaurant, nostalgic music was playing, creating a calming atmosphere. I had heard that their pork fillet is excellent, so I ordered two pieces for myself along with a few other skewers. The batter is thin and the breadcrumbs are coarse. It's not greasy and you can keep eating more. The recommended pork fillet was indeed the most delicious! It was very tender, had a good portion size, and was great value for money. Thank you for the meal.
