Until 7:00 PM, they offer a happy hour where you can get ¥200 off a pint, which is a very generous service. There is no cover charge. I was impressed by the authentic British pub style of standing and drinking while enjoying a Kin-oni.

Food log rating ☆3.25 *Visit date: June 2023, Weekday, Evening This place offers a variety of craft beers and various whiskies. They operate on a cash-on-delivery system, and you can also pay with PayPay. The interior is standing room only. On this day, I tried two types of craft beer. The types of beer available often change, but personally, I love that West Coast Brewing's beer is frequently available, so I would like to visit again. Well, this will be the last post of 2022 here. As always, the main choices are either a highball, a strong beer, or a bitter one, but lately I've noticed that pilsners and lagers are becoming more common in the lineup. Personally, I find this very welcome *\(^o^)/* I thought about adding some food for this final post of the year, but decided against it due to trying to watch my diet (>_<) I can't reduce the amount I drink though (bitter smile). I'll share my thoughts on the beer in the caption. This will be the last post of the year. Despite the somewhat biased lineup, I am grateful for all the likes, comments, and saves from everyone ☆ Next year probably won't be much different, but I would be happy if you could continue to follow along. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year (*´∇`*)

There is a small sign on the way from the west exit of Iidabashi Station to Tokyo Daijingu that is easy to overlook. It says something like "Hop...Scotch?" It seems to be a shop for craft beer and obscure whiskey. When you open the door, you are greeted with a rock music-filled atmosphere similar to a live house. I ordered an IPA, but unfortunately, they ran out of the keg and gave me a half-pint in a regular glass. Nonetheless, I ordered another IPA from a different brewery for a nice comparison. It was delicious and definitely better than going to Starbucks. Craft beer is the way to go for a good time.

After work, I went to Ikebukuro for the first time in a while. The place I headed to is a bar that I have posted about several times before. They have a wide selection of craft beers, with a focus on bitter and strong ones (as the name suggests, they also have whiskey). During happy hour (weekdays 4-7 pm, Saturdays 3-6 pm), you can get a pint for 200 yen off, so you can enjoy a little benefit even after work (laughs). On this day, they had a pilsner, so I started with that. American pilsners are often recommended for their crispness (think of a biscuity flavor derived from malt). From the second pint onwards, I switched to bitter and strong beers (laughs). I had a refreshing IPA and a delicious hazy IPA that I haven't had in a while. It's a standing bar, and it's not particularly cheap (although those who often drink imported beers said that it's not easy to find this price for imported beers). Nevertheless, the place is always bustling. Perhaps it's not just the rarity of the beers, but also the atmosphere of the bar that attracts people. Payment is cash only, so you can use it for various purposes, from deciding on just one drink to settling in (even though it's a standing bar). I'll definitely visit again. *\(^o^)/*

I usually drink in the Kagurazaka area, but sometimes I search for different shops and this time I found a beer bar near Iidabashi Station! I went there right away. It's cash on, so you can easily go for just one drink. I thought so at first, but when I looked at the tap lineup, I found that they had space beer connected! So I ordered the "Space LAND" first. Hazy. Slightly oily aroma, like passion fruit. It starts with sweetness and then grapefruit-like bitterness, very juicy and creamy. The hop bitterness and creamy mellowness can be enjoyed in a long aftertaste. Happy hour for 1300 yen! The food menu is on the wall, and the beer menu is written on a blackboard above the counter. I ordered some homemade jerky to nibble on. It's a soft beef jerky that goes well with another beer I had. I've probably had over 100 different beers a year, but this one had a strong alcohol taste that didn't quite agree with me, so I decided to leave after drinking it. I didn't expect to find space beer on tap around here. I'll definitely check it out again! Thank you for the meal.

This day, I visited a place in Iidabashi after a long time. They have a selection of Japanese beers as well as many foreign beers. They don't usually have light beers like lagers or pilsners, but they had Helles this time, so I started with that. It's easy to drink, perfect for the first drink, but the taste might be a bit too clear. Next, I tried an IPA. It has a strong bitterness but doesn't linger, a nice balance. I liked this one. I also had some food - gravy cheese potatoes, a calorie bomb (laughs). Well, I hadn't eaten lunch, so it's okay, right? I also tried a sour ale. I prefer ones that are not too sour, and this one was quite good. The coffee had a nice aroma, not so much about the taste. Interesting. Lastly, a hazy double IPA. I think I've had enough hazy beers for now. It's still a popular genre among craft beer lovers, but I prefer clear IPAs. If you go early, they have a happy hour with 200 yen off a pint. It's not cheap by regular standards, and it's standing room only, but the place is always lively, maybe because of the rarity of the beers and the friendly owner. I'll definitely visit again.

I knew about the restaurant, but I had no idea they offered lunch curry only on Wednesdays. After seeing a delicious post of katsu curry last week, I became curious and decided to go try it out. The result... it was incredibly delicious! At first, it didn't have a striking appearance compared to katsu curry, and I thought, "Is this just normal?" But as I continued eating, my mouth started to feel refreshing, maybe from cilantro or parsley, and then a gentle spiciness from green chili peppers kicked in. The more I ate, the more delicious it became. It was a chicken curry, so it wasn't greasy and went down smoothly. I wanted to have seconds. Also, since it's originally a beer place, I was envious of the people next to me enjoying curry with beer (I had to go back to work...). The curry seems to change weekly, so it's a shame that I won't be able to enjoy today's delicious curry again, but I look forward to discovering new curries in the future!

A few years ago, I found out that there was a curry lunch limited to Wednesdays at a beer bar in Iidabashi. However, I couldn't seem to make it there due to timing issues, and when I finally did, it was sold out or something. Finally, I was able to go this time. The menu changes weekly, or rather daily, and on this day, it was a meat x meat curry with chicken cutlet and pork nihari. I ordered it with less rice. Nihari is a stew dish from the Indian subcontinent, but this nihari here is more of a nihari-style curry within the realm of spiced curry rather than the authentic nihari cuisine. It's sweet and spicy, and quite delicious. The chicken cutlet was freshly fried. It's also delicious when you dip it in the curry. There are no side dishes, but considering the price of 1000 yen, it's a good deal. It was a high-quality katsu curry experience.

This is a beer-centric bar with a focus on IPA. They offer both domestic and international beers, including draft and canned options. They also import beers from countries like the USA, so you may come across some unfamiliar breweries, but the owner will gladly explain the flavor profiles. While they may not always have pilsners or lagers on tap, there are other beer bars in Kagurazaka if you're looking for variety. If you make it in time for their happy hour until 7 pm on weekdays, you can enjoy a pint at a discounted price of 200 yen off.

From Kagurazaka Exit of Iidabashi Station, it's about a 5-minute walk. The entrance is a bit hidden in the back of a building, so it's easy to miss at first. They have a cash-on system for clear payment. A pint costs around 1000 yen. I saw on Instagram that they just tapped the Milky Way by Uchu Brewing yesterday, so I had to go try it. It's not too coconutty and not too sweet, very delicious. It's a great place to relax and enjoy your drink, especially during the early hours!

When I come to Iidabashi, I usually end up heading towards Kagurazaka, so I decided to explore the other side for a change. I found a craft beer bar near French Yakitori Brochette Iidabashi, tucked away a bit inside a building with standing and seated counter seats. The walls were covered with various stickers and bottle labels, giving it a pretty American vibe. I realized I haven't been drinking much craft beer lately, so I thought it's time to try something new. I ordered celery sticks with blue cheese dip as a snack and tried Industrial Arts Wrench NE IPA and DevilCraft Coffee Milk Stout. The place had a hardcore rock and punk music playing, which added to the overall experience. It was a great feeling to just enjoy the beer without having to think too much. The atmosphere was so cool, even though it was playing such heavy music. It's amazing that they manage to maintain a no-smoking policy in such a hardcore environment. I had a blast rocking out to the IPA in my head, without causing a scene. It's a beer pub where you can have a great time and really get into the spirit of things. I'll definitely bring my friends next time!

Near Iidabashi Station, there is a beer bar that offers craft beers mainly from America with 8 taps. The bar has a casual standing style, making it easy for customers to enjoy. After attending an event at Nippon Budokan, I had some time to spare and stumbled upon this promising place. I decided to check it out by myself. The bar has a counter against the wall and a few standing tables, creating an American-style atmosphere. The staff, particularly the friendly bartender, added to the welcoming ambiance of the place. It was a Saturday night around 8 pm, and the bar was almost full. Customers kept coming in, but as a solo customer, I managed to find a spot to stand and enjoy my drink. The clientele included regulars who seemed to be beer enthusiasts, engaged in lively conversations about beer. I found myself getting caught up in their discussions and ended up having a great time. The menu offered a variety of snacks that paired well with the beers available. The drink menu featured 7 American craft beers on tap and a rare find from Uchu Brewing in Kitamimaki, Yamanashi. The excitement of discovering a local brew in Tokyo was palpable. You could purchase drinks and food separately as you go. Drinks were served immediately, while food was brought to your spot. I ordered the following: - Yubari King Hazy IPA 1/2 950 yen - Head Full of Dynamite ver.7 Hazy IPA 1/2 950 yen - Uchu Gold Hazy IPA 1/2 950 yen - Coleslaw 300 yen - Homemade Beef Jerky 500 yen Total: 3,650 yen Here are my thoughts on the drinks: - Yubari King Hazy IPA: Refreshing and fruity with a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Delicious. - Head Full of Dynamite ver.7 Hazy IPA: Fruity and flavorful, with a slightly higher alcohol content but still very enjoyable. - Uchu Gold Hazy IPA: A fruity and delicious beer with a great balance of flavors. It stood out even after trying American IPAs. The Coleslaw had a crunchy texture and a delicious taste thanks to the mayonnaise and black pepper. The Homemade Beef Jerky was not too tough and had a great meaty flavor that paired perfectly with the beers. Overall, it was a great experience at this bar. It's a perfect spot for a casual beer drinker looking for a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend it to beer lovers. Plus, you might meet some cheerful beer enthusiasts there. I casually started with the undercoat. Standing and enjoying Hop and Malt at a round table and on the wall counter board. First, I wet my throat with an American IPA. I could enjoy plenty of grapefruit flavor, it was a luxurious throat moistener. Looking at the counter, the hemp sparrow series, which means mahjong, is lined up. I wanted to drink the 8,000, 4,000, 6,000 next to the k846, but I drew the five bamboo right in front of me! The label is Wusoe, but the contents are the heavy peated Bunnahabhain, which was dearly loved by the late 43rd President Bush. Tasting it straight, the iodine taste is not too strong. You can also catch a glimpse of Bunnahabhain's characteristic honey sweetness, and there is a hint of vanilla somewhere in the distance! Thank you for the meal. A nice standing bar where you can enjoy real single malt like Wusoe!
