I have been to this restaurant many times and once again, I went with three friends. The payment is done separately for each item, and you leave the money in a cup at your table for the staff to calculate. This time, we had: [First dish] Thai Shirako with Konbu Seaweed - This was a real hit! The Thai shirako was surprisingly delicious, with a nice texture and a slightly acidic Japanese sake pairing perfectly with it. [Second dish] Assorted Appetizers - Potato salad, Nanban-zuke, and boiled chicken intestines (as the staff jokingly called it). All of them were high quality and delicious, especially the Nanban-zuke. [Third dish] Assorted Sashimi and Uni on a board (half portion) - The sashimi assortment included salmon, stonefish, amberjack, octopus, bluefin tuna, and mackerel, all fresh and tasty. The Uni on the board was a must-try, with a great umami flavor. [Fourth dish] Assorted Fish Offal - A unique dish with fish liver, boiled intestines, and other parts, all seasoned with ponzu sauce. A must-have for sake drinkers! [Fifth dish] Grilled Fish with Salt - I chose this over the Thornhead, and it was amazing! The meat was tender, perfectly grilled, and seasoned just right. A great value for its size at 2000 yen. [Seventh dish] Salted Pork and Kimchi - A classic dish at this restaurant, featuring tender pork belly and kimchi. A perfect combination that brings happiness with every bite. [Eighth dish] Spicy Yakisoba - Thick noodles with a good amount of spiciness and firefly squid. The spiciness complements the sake well and makes it a dish worth ordering again. [Sake] Asama-yama and two other types - The Asama-yama sake stood out with its fresh aroma, balanced acidity, and a hint of sweetness from the sediment. The restaurant has a wide selection of sake, making each visit enjoyable. This restaurant is very popular, so reservations are a must! It's more suitable for hanging out with friends than for a date. We visited around 5 pm, and it was relatively calm, but by 7 pm when we left, it was packed! I will definitely be going back!

For the second stop, I went to Ura Namba at Shin Kawa Nishiya. I had the assorted sashimi and chilled autumn deer. These two only cost 1000 yen with no extra charge, which is great. They used to serve a 10-piece sashimi platter for 500 yen back in the day, but the tuna was still delicious as always. Had a few more drinks and called it a night. It was nice to see the head chef and the staff, bringing back nostalgic memories. This place has been popular for 20 years. #ShinKawaNishiyaRestaurant

I used this place for the first time. You put some money in the cup in front of you, order, and then the staff deducts the amount from the cup each time you order. I couldn't resist ordering the Tanshichu next to me because it looked so delicious (lol). It was delicious! The assorted sashimi platter is definitely a must-order because it's so cheap! They have a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes, but I couldn't order more because I was already full. I will definitely visit again. Please note that they are closed for the month of August.

I have used this place several times! The payment system is prepaid, so if you decide to spend a certain amount today, you won't spend more than that, which is reassuring! The service is average, the taste is average, and there is a wide variety of seafood. They bring out the dishes quickly without checking the pace. Smoking is allowed, so it can get quite smoky. However, it's open late, which is convenient! The menu is extensive, so it's good for the first, second, or third stop. The drinks are cheap, so it's cost-effective! I will visit again if I have the chance!

Once again, I received a request to see my review, so I called to check if there was a seat available. It turned out that a seat would be available right when I arrived, perfect timing! This was my fourth visit to Nishiya-san's restaurant, and each time they have a different special menu which keeps things interesting. There are always more options than the usual menu, making it impossible to try everything. My favorite from the regular menu is the avocado with mentaiko mayo. I'm looking forward to the next special menu. Lastly, make sure to have enough cash on hand as they only accept cash for orders. An idol group's live performance was held at Yanmar Stadium, so I visited because a friend came from Nagoya. There were strict restrictions on subway boarding, causing me to arrive much later than planned, but my seat was still reserved. There was a piggy bank-like container on the table, and the system involved a staff member taking the payment for each order. It was interesting, but after having a few drinks, it became hard to keep track of who paid how much, so it may be more suitable for those who don't mind the details. The cuisine leaned towards Japanese food with creative dishes as the main focus. I followed a map to get there, but the entrance was hard to find, and the interior was quite narrow, so it may not be suitable for those who are bothered by these things. The food was delicious, but due to the system and atmosphere, I personally gave it a slightly lower rating. Thank you for the meal!

It's quite difficult to go bar-hopping on a Sunday night in Osaka. Despite being known as a foodie city, the options are limited after 10 PM on a Sunday night, with most good restaurants closed. However, I recommend this hidden gem in a bit of a back alley in Namba! The sashimi and other seafood dishes here are really delicious. The restaurant is cozy and the seating is close together. Payment is cash-only and you pay as you go. If you need a receipt, prepare a larger bill like 10,000 yen and get the change back. If you go with a group of friends, you can all chip in at the beginning and use the remaining money for an automatic split payment system. The sashimi and simmered dishes were delicious! Definitely a hidden gem. Thank you for the meal!

Nankai Namba Station, close to Takashimaya. Visited for the first time with a colleague. Showa retro facade with a small entrance that looks like a back door. A sign in big letters saying "Open!". We didn't have a reservation, but they let us in if we finished within 2 hours. The interior had an old feel with red pillars and beams adding to the atmosphere. The system was cash on delivery, where you put money in a cup-like container in advance. We started with 6000 yen. The menu had a variety of fish dishes, with some meat options too. We ordered a sashimi platter, black rockfish and cod milt in butter soy sauce, Yamato chicken and Mehirari fried, pickled horse mackerel, and konjac with fish roe. The raw, grilled, and fried dishes were all excellent. We had beer first, followed by sake. Tried "Ho-o Mitaka" after a long time, but it was sweeter than expected. Next, we had the refreshing and dry "Dan" from Yamanashi, which paired better with the food. The bill came to over 8000 yen, exceeding the initial 6000 yen budget, but it was still reasonable for the quality. Overall, we enjoyed the meal very much.

I was looking for a late-night restaurant and hesitated because it was far, but I decided to go! At Nishiya-san, I had my first ever experience of eating "kue" (cutlassfish)♪ I always associated kue with hot pot, but my first time trying it was as sashimi and grilled with salt♡ The grilled kue came out whole, which was surprising, but at 2500 yen, it was a steal! The texture and the right amount of fat were so satisfying that I couldn't stop eating! I became a fish expert, meticulously picking apart the bones and flesh until I realized I had finished the entire fish!! (lol) Every other dish was also delicious♡ The menu changes each time you visit, so I think it's a place where you can enjoy coming back for more ѱ(❁´ч`❁)ѱ *Payment by cash only☝️

It seems like a bit of a hassle to go to a new restaurant, so I opened the map on Tabelog to check my location while heading there. I ended up passing the restaurant like normal, haha. It was truly a hidden gem! When I opened the low sliding door and entered, the interior looked old and a bit cluttered, creating a unique atmosphere. However, the friendly female staff made me feel comfortable. This place is a cash-only establishment, so I put some cash in the tabletop money holder and started drinking. I started with a draft beer (Super Dry, medium size, 400 yen tax included) and cheers! I ordered: - Assorted sashimi (1000 yen): salmon, octopus, sea bream, tuna, flounder, and striped jack. The staff explained each piece in detail when serving, and the sashimi quality was quite good. - Izumisano eggplant (450 yen): a favorite side dish of mine. - Steamed and grilled red sea bream bones (1200 yen): perhaps it was cooked too much, as the red sea bream was a bit dry. Despite it being a quick drink session, the menu is extensive, so I may come back again. Thank you for the meal!

This time, the Osaka expedition was a solo drinking trip. The first stop was Nishikawa Nishiyasan in Namba. This restaurant is known for its seafood dishes and is quite popular, making it difficult to get a reservation. Before the 5:00 pm opening, there were already several groups waiting outside, building up anticipation. The interior of the restaurant was smaller than expected, and I was a bit worried about how close the seats were. After ordering drinks, I was instructed to put money into a bottle on the table for payment, and the same process applied for each dish ordered. We ordered several dishes, but the standout was the grilled nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) with salt. It was a bit pricey, but absolutely delicious.

It's quite rare, isn't it? This place is known for its delicious sashimi, so it's a must-order. You might think everyone orders it because it's that good. The atmosphere is nice, with many couples and women. This time, two middle-aged men went, so we stood out a bit, but it added to the charm. The counter is cozy and a bit narrow, but it's calming. It's a favorite restaurant that I often visit. I'll post some photos together. They're open until morning and even at 3 a.m. it's crowded because it's so popular. It's a hidden gem in the back streets of Namba, a bit away from the main area. Among the recently increasing restaurants in the back streets of Namba, this place has been around for a while and is a classic. You can enjoy fresh fish and the cost performance is excellent. There are many daily changing and regular menu items, but everything is delicious. The regular items I always order are the assorted sashimi and grilled fish bones. The daily special includes grilled fish collar and kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot), which I always order. The kamameshi is cooked from raw rice, so you need to order it at least 40 minutes in advance. It has a rich flavor and the rice is glossy and fluffy, really delicious. The grated yam and minced wasabi that come with it also complement the dish well. Oh no, thinking about it now makes me crave kamameshi again. You pay cash each time, and the prices are low considering the quality and complexity of the dishes. The entrance is narrow, giving it a hidden gem vibe that I love. Another day of being full and satisfied!

I was taken to this hidden gem of a restaurant by a friend. We were seated at the counter, where we had to pay for each drink and dish separately by putting money in a container provided at the counter. It was a unique system that I found quite enjoyable (lol). The food was delicious and I would love to visit this restaurant again!

It seemed popular, so I made a late-night phone reservation and went. When I arrived and peeked inside, it was indeed popular. And small. You put your money in a small cup-like container and the staff take it. Splitting the bill is a hassle. The sashimi platter was delicious, although I forgot to take a photo. It had a variety of preparations and I was satisfied. Other than that, it was just average. Maybe because it was late at night, the food menu was like, huh? Is this all? The spicy yakisoba might appeal to some people. Otherwise, the tamagoyaki and potato salad were just average. I had high expectations, but it was just okay.

I've been to this place many times. It seems like I haven't posted about it before. They made a reservation for me and I visited. It seems like they are always fully booked and you can't get in without a reservation. It's a restaurant where maintaining social distance is difficult. They operate on a cash-on system where you leave money on the table. I ordered a sashimi platter, a three variety platter, shirako with ponzu sauce, and curry spring rolls, but I don't have a photo. I started with a tomato highball and then switched to sake. The shirako was pink!! I wonder if there are pink ones too? Is it because they are fresh or is it a different type? I don't know, but it was delicious. Apparently, the cost performance used to be better in the past...
