O-san's schedule dictated that we take the Keio Line from Fuchu to Takao-Sanguchi on the way there. On the way back, we decided to have a drink in Kokubunji (^O^)/C□, so we transferred to the Chuo Line at Takao Station (^ー^* )♪ However, unfortunately (ノ◇≦。)!! O-san had other plans for the evening and couldn't join us. As a housewife, I couldn't exactly kidnap him, so I sadly bid farewell at Kokubunji Station (/・、)/~~
Exiting from the south exit of Kokubunji Station and turning left, you will see the Tachigaya Todai Garden on your right as you go down the slope. Turning right at the intersection of Nanchome 2, you will enter Kokubunji Kaido, and about 100 meters on your right hand side is SAPO. We arrived around the opening time of 18:00. There is space for about 3 cars to park in front of the store, and I saw a family with an elderly person in a wheelchair being helped by the staff to enter the store. Wow, what a barrier-free izakaya (゜∇^d) Good!!
Upon entering, the restaurant had a seating arrangement of 2 round tables that can accommodate 4-6 people each, 1 square table, and a counter with 7-8 seats. Although it is called an izakaya, the cuisine is based on Italian dishes. While the menu is not extensive, the dishes are prepared with care and are much better than what you would find at chain izakayas, making it wallet-friendly (o^-')b !!!
Light appetizers range from 300 yen to a cheese assortment at the highest price of 700 yen. Pasta, pizza, and other dishes are priced between 500 yen and 800 yen, making it very affordable (o^-')b !!!
We started with two Heartland beers (550 yen each) and a bottle of Valdo Cabernet for 2400 yen. The wine list includes three types of full bottles (red and white) ranging from 1900 to 2600 yen, with glasses priced at 400 yen and decanters at 1200 yen.
We ordered various dishes including a potato and mixed bean salad with cream cheese flavor for 550 yen, curry-flavored fried chicken wings for 500 yen, a sea bream carpaccio salad for 750 yen, a zucchini, scallop, and asparagus pizza for 800 yen, a sausage assortment for 800 yen, a blue cheese pizza for 800 yen, an oyster and spinach cream gratin for 800 yen, and a smoked salmon and mushroom marinade for 550 yen. We also had linguine with clams and tomato cream sauce for 800 yen.
We enjoyed a bottle of Novembre Sicilia 2007/Kuzmano for 3800 yen, which was a Novello wine from Italy, as well as a smoked salmon and mushroom marinade for 550 yen. Overall, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming.
