Today I am at Hozonji for a work dinner. It's a business meal, more like entertaining. I found a delicious yakiniku place that fits our budget, so today there are a total of 5 of us at Hozonji. The restaurant is located near Mizukake Jizo. Upon entering, we informed them of our reservation and were directed to the second floor. We went upstairs to a semi-private room. We took off our coats and hung them on the coat rack outside the room. Then we sat at a table with a kotatsu-style heater. We ordered a course with a variety of meats to enjoy. We started with a toast with beer. We were served thick-cut tongue first. The tongue here is thick and very satisfying. We started grilling it right away, dipping it in sesame. The unique light juiciness and texture of the tongue, combined with the flavor of sesame, was delicious. We enjoyed the tongue for a while. Next, the recommended set A arrived. It included loin, belly, top harami, top teppan, akasen, top mino, top tsurami, kokoro, tantora, vegetable grill, and sausage. We started by grilling what seemed to be belly meat. The beef here had a moderate marbling, making it tender and high-quality even in its raw state. The loin, belly, and harami were all tender and each had its own enjoyable characteristics. The vegetables included shiitake mushrooms, bell peppers, pumpkin, onions, carrots, eggplant, and potatoes. The sauce was clear but flavorful, bringing out the umami of the meat. We switched from beer to shochu. Our stomachs were starting to settle. Eating yakiniku and tonkatsu really makes us feel our age. We changed things up with sausages and hormone. We grilled them slowly and enjoyed them as a drinking snack. For the finale, after some consideration, we ordered a stone bibimbap to share. It was the right amount and delicious, with a good amount of crispy rice. The quality of the meat, the preparation, and the cost-effectiveness of the yakiniku meal were all excellent. However, there was an incident with the service. The following conversation is about one staff member on the second floor... They handle additional drinks and menu orders over the phone. At first, it was normal, but then it became a bit rough. Well, there's no point in writing more about it. The food was great, but the actions of just one person... left a sour taste. Lately, I've encountered situations like this often, and dining out has become a bit tiring. Feeling exhausted, we left the restaurant. I'm not sure about returning. Thank you for the meal.
