On this day, I went to watch the annual Osaka Grand Sumo Tournament with my partner and nephew. Before the match, the three of us had a meal together. We decided to revisit a place we had enjoyed last year. I ordered the Fisherman's Explosion Bowl for 1,300 yen. The bowl contained tuna, sea bream, and yellowtail, with finely chopped cucumbers and glass noodles adding texture. When I added a little soy sauce, it was delicious! The wasabi had a strong kick, which I liked. Even if the sashimi and sushi are tasty, bad wasabi can ruin the overall impression, but this one passed the test! The yellowtail that came on a separate plate was mixed with sesame sauce for a nice flavor variation. You can eat it as it is or put it on top of the bowl. The grated Japanese yam (tororo) was also good. The meal also came with chilled tofu and pickles. Just like last time, I left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

In the back streets of Namba, there are many charming shops. This time, I visited the authentic robatayaki restaurant called Hitomukashi. I had tried to come at 1:30 last time, but they were already closed, so this time I arrived at 12 o'clock. The inside of the restaurant was already full, with 2 groups waiting outside. They use a waiting list system where you write your name on a list. After waiting for 20 minutes, I was seated and placed my order. The menu was filled with delicious items, but this time I was drawn to the limited special seafood bowl, the "Bakudan Donburi". It was topped with a mound of salmon roe and a generous portion of negitoro, making it look very luxurious! As I ate, I could taste the finely chopped sea bream, octopus, yellowtail, and more, enhancing the texture. The taste was, of course, delicious! I finished it in no time. There are other menu items I want to try, like the shrimp fry set meal and the pork cutlet set meal, so I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

In Ura Namba, there is a popular robatayaki restaurant where it's difficult to get in on weekends without a reservation. Everything from the appetizers to the soy sauce is delicious, and I feel like there are no bad choices no matter what you order! The staff are also friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy!

After the calm of the coronavirus, I met up with friends who I hadn't seen in years, and we hadn't decided on a restaurant. We happened to stop by this place. Although the seating was originally for two people, they set up an extra chair for us and apologized for the tight space, but it wasn't a problem at all. The food was really delicious, starting with a cute little appetizer served in charming dishes. I couldn't post any photos, but there was a big case with sashimi and other items inside, presented with smoke as if opening a treasure chest. I was excited from the moment it arrived. My friends love alcohol, so we enjoyed the recommended sake, beer, and more from the staff. We left completely satisfied. I definitely want to visit again when I come back to town. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Before moving to the destination, I had an early lunch. I found a place that opens at 11 am and it looks promising. It seems to be a nice Japanese-style izakaya. The lunch menu has a lot of seafood options, but there is also a Tajima chicken menu. I have a weakness for limited quantities, so I ordered the special seafood bowl and abakudan bowl for 1300 yen. You can choose between white rice and mixed grain rice. I chose white rice! After a short wait, the dishes arrived. The abakudan bowl had plenty of salmon roe on top. There are instructions on how to eat it. First, pour the dashi soy sauce. It is a light and elegant dashi soy sauce. Under the salmon roe, there are various ingredients like grated yam, small pieces of sea bream, yellowtail, octopus, green onion, cucumber, imitation crab meat, and a little bit of glass noodles. The sweet yellow pickled daikon is a nice touch. Seasoned seaweed and shiso leaf are also good. This is delicious! I started by eating it as it is, then I tried adding the sesame sauce sashimi on top for a different taste. Even though it's delicious on its own, I followed the instructions. It's nice that it comes with sea bream as well. Adding the mellow sesame sauce to the abakudan bowl is also good. The strong sesame flavor can overpower other tastes though. Lastly, I had some grated Japanese yam. This is real Japanese yam, sticky and slimy. The yellow color is from... egg yolk? I see, it's egg yolk. Japanese yam goes well with salmon roe, so I finished it all in one go. When the bowl arrived, I thought it was small, but it was deep and filling. I would like to come back for dinner as well. I came to "Honkaku Robatayaki Hito Yumekana" to try the "Bakudan Donburi (1300 yen)" dish. I arrived a little after 11 o'clock and there were no people waiting. The restaurant had just opened and there were already customers inside. I barely managed to get the last seat available. The rice in the Bakudan Donburi was 16-grain rice. There were various ways to enjoy the dish, so I had a great time.

Hidden in Ura-Namba, there is a quiet Japanese restaurant. My top recommendation is the Bakudan Don, with plenty of fatty tuna. You can enjoy changing the taste with grated yam and sesame sauce sashimi. I discovered this Japanese restaurant with a non-Ura-Namba-like atmosphere. Even though I passed by the front of the shop many times, I didn't notice it. What was I doing! The highlight is the Bakudan Don, with a huge portion of negitoro and plenty of salmon roe. The negitoro includes finely chopped squid, swordfish, and cucumber, giving it a different texture and taste from the typical negitoro. The actual dish is very voluminous and irresistible for seafood lovers. The sashimi with grated yam and sesame sauce allows you to enjoy changing flavors until the end. You can choose between white rice or sixteen-grain rice. The atmosphere at the counter and the staff were very nice, so I would like to try it at night as well.

Today, I met up with my former senior colleague from my old workplace for the first time in about 3 years. Since they are all good middle-aged men, we chose a mature restaurant. Despite the lively surroundings, the atmosphere inside was calm. The food was delicious and satisfying. Being a robatayaki restaurant, it was great to have a variety of dishes to enjoy. We had a variety of dishes including assorted appetizers, mashed edamame, sashimi platter, grilled baby corn, vinegar-marinated oysters, red sea cucumber with ponzu, snow crab, special gratin, deep-fried shrimp sandwich, and salt-grilled blackthroat seaperch, all paired with delicious Japanese sake. The sake selection included ZAKU, W Yamadanishiki 45, Tsushima-ya, and Setoichi, all of which were to my liking. The dishes were all delicious and beautifully presented, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Personally, the blackthroat seaperch was the winner for me. Every dish went perfectly with the sake, which made it hard to stop eating and drinking. I will definitely be adding this restaurant to my list of places to revisit. Thank you for the wonderful meal! At lunchtime, I entered a quaint alleyway in Namba and walked through the noren curtain into the restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Nanban set at the calm counter. The Chicken Nanban, tartar sauce, salad with watercress, soy sauce for the sashimi, perfectly cooked rice - everything was of high quality. The cost performance for lunch was also excellent. This is definitely a restaurant I will visit again. Next time, I will try ordering fish.

There are various shops on the west side of Namba's Do-guya Street, but there are few that offer lunch. For 1100 yen, I think it's a satisfying lunch! I rate based on taste alone. A restaurant I want to go back to is not just about the taste. There are restaurants that I don't want to go back to even if the food is delicious. I live to eat.

The appetizer assortment and creamy sweet potato soup were cute. The sashimi assortment comes in a box like a treasure chest, with dry ice that creates a fun effect when opened, so be sure to take a video. The sashimi itself was satisfying. The salad was packed with vegetables, even though they weren't visible due to the dressing, which contained 15 different types of vegetables. The famous gratin was rich and creamy. The grilled rice ball exceeded expectations. Delicious pickles were also served. The staff provided excellent service. Dessert included strawberries. The drink menu was extensive. They offer a limited quantity "bakudan donburi" for 1,300 yen, which comes with sashimi, small dishes, pickles, grated yam, and miso soup. The donburi consists of minced tuna mixed with fish offcuts topped with salmon roe, creating a luxurious explosion of flavors. The crunchy texture of pickled daikon, the aroma of shiso leaves and seaweed, and the option to change the taste with sesame sauce and grated yam make it enjoyable until the last bite. The food was delicious and the staff were very kind. The assorted sashimi had each piece seasoned delicately and had a subtle flavor. There was no fishy smell, and even though it was a fish-focused restaurant, all the dishes were delicious. I would love to go back again!

Visited in December 2022. Went shopping in Namba on this day. The crowded feeling in Namba is different from Umeda, lacking a sense of direction, so I often get lost. There are many one-way streets, so when I drive there, I sometimes miss my destination and usually don't come here. Since I came all the way to Namba, I decided to eat something delicious before going home. While walking down a side street, I stopped in front of this shop that looked welcoming. I didn't even check reviews, it was just a sudden impulse (I was lured by the winter limited edition fried oysters in front of the shop). Now, I entered the shop. It was a weekend lunchtime, but there were empty seats available, so I was seated right away. However, there were people who were turned away due to the shop being full right after. It seems to be a popular place. I decided to stick to my initial plan and ordered the Fried Oyster Set for 1,400 yen. I listened to other customers' orders, and it seemed like a variety of dishes were popular. Among them, shrimp tempura and seafood bowl (it was called "Bakudan" on the menu) were ordered frequently. You can choose between white rice and 16-grain rice. I chose the red one without hesitation. After a short wait, my order arrived. There were five large fried oysters! I immediately dipped them in tartar sauce and took a bite. Delicious! The plump, large oysters were so tasty. The chewy texture and milky flavor were irresistible. It also came with sashimi and you could get a rice refill. Eating rice with fried oysters is a taste of happiness born in Japan, something you rarely experience abroad. It was a big hit at this shop I randomly visited! Thank you for the meal. ☆

The shop was bustling with regular customers and had a confirmed delicious atmosphere. I entered and noticed that most customers were eating fish teishoku. "Hmm, it's a restaurant with delicious fish," I thought. I had just finished sweating at the gym 30 minutes ago, so I was very hungry. Before I knew it, I had ordered "Black Pork Tonkatsu and Ebi Fry." I recommend everyone to try the seafood teishoku (set meal) (laughs). However, both the tonkatsu and ebi fry were a big hit. Even when squeezed with lemon, they remained crispy and satisfying. They must be using good oil because there was no greasiness at all. I have visited this restaurant twice already! The fish is really delicious. When I went last autumn, I had the matsutake mushroom steamed in a pot, and it was so delicious! The shirako was creamy and bouncy! I was completely satisfied from the appetizers to the end. If you want to have a little drink and something to eat, definitely give it a try! (*^^*)

I visited around 1pm on a weekday. I ordered the half-sized set meal of Tajima Umami Chicken thigh, which is slowly grilled using charcoal. The chicken has a rich flavor and is nicely grilled with a crispy texture from the charcoal and pepper. The side sashimi is incredibly clear and fresh. The option of mixed grain rice is also a nice touch. All of this for just 1,000 yen for lunch is a great deal. I definitely want to visit again.

If you're looking for a delicious lunch in Namba, there's no better place than Hito Mukashi in Ura Namba. They have seafood bowls and tasty set meals! The restaurant's guidance is also very detailed. Today, I ordered the Anago Tempura Bowl from Izumi Province. You can choose between white rice and 16-grain rice. It also comes with sashimi and tofu. Definitely worth a visit!

I searched for a restaurant near Ura-Namba on Tabelog and ended up eating there. The restaurant has a new appearance, but I heard it has a long history. The dishes were well-prepared and the taste was good. However, what stood out the most was the alcohol at this place (laughs). If I had to choose, the staff (maybe the manager?) who is knowledgeable about alcohol will select a drink for you. There are also several other restaurants in the same group nearby, and they seem to be working hard in Ura-Namba. Thank you for the meal.
