Since the start of the pandemic, I have been using takeout exclusively, but finally, as things have calmed down a bit, my family and I visited the restaurant for dine-in for the first time in 3 years. It was past 6 p.m., and on this day, the back floor where we were seated was still quiet. Each of us ordered our favorite pasta dishes and shared a Caesar salad for 680 yen (tax included). I chose the recommended pasta dish, the Nordic-style cream pasta with cod roe, flying fish roe, and dill for 1,200 yen (tax included). First came the Caesar salad, a menu item I used to order every time I visited before the pandemic. It had lettuce, romaine lettuce, watercress, purple cabbage, topped with cashews and shaved cheese, and generously dressed with Caesar dressing. The price had gone up a bit from before, but the volume and taste remained the same, and we enjoyed it. Next was the main pasta dish. Despite being named "Nordic-style cream," the cream was quite subtle, more like an oil pasta. The colorful toppings of cod roe, flying fish roe, dill, and purple cabbage on the pasta were vibrant. Dill was a herb unfamiliar to me, but I found out that it has been widely used in European cuisine for a long time, especially in fish dishes, hence it's also called the "herb of fish." I vaguely remember having dill leaves as a topping on a fish dish in a restaurant before. The taste was similar to regular oil pasta, lacking surprise but still delicious. It had been a while since we dined in, and having hot, freshly made food was a nice change from takeout. Recently, there had been some issues with the takeout service from this restaurant, causing some stress, so it was a relief to dine in without those worries. I hope the pandemic settles down soon so we can continue to dine in without any problems.
