I visited the shop "Chalet Suisse Mini" located in a residential area close to Nishi-Nippori Station. The building and garden are well-maintained, giving a feeling of being in a different world. I ordered the cheese fondue set which included salad, appetizer, dessert, and coffee (total 4730 yen including tax). It was my first time having authentic cheese fondue at a Swiss restaurant, so I was excited. The staff explained how to eat it, like using bread to scoop the cheese from the pot. The blended cheese was rich and delicious, with a strong hint of alcohol (maybe that's the authentic taste). They mentioned that they combine several types of wine in it. However, the bread was a bit dry and lacked freshness. It may be intentional since it's meant to be dipped in cheese, but having a better quality bread would enhance the experience. After having the strong cheese, the cheesecake dessert tasted a bit bland. My colleague had the chocolate cake which was rich and tasty, so it may vary by item. The cost performance was a bit questionable, but I think it's worth visiting at least once to experience authentic cheese fondue. I would like to visit again when I'm in the area.

The restaurant, owned by someone with connections to Switzerland, uses authentic Swiss ingredients like Gruyère cheese in a building reminiscent of Switzerland. The garden is also lovely and charming. The cheese fondue requires a reservation. I definitely want to go back.

This café offers Swiss dishes such as salads, soups, cheese sandwiches, raclette, and fondue. I tried minestrone, salmon salad, chicken and grilled vegetable raclette, coffee, and strawberry tart. The minestrone was refreshing with a strong flavor. The smoked salmon in the salad was just right, not too overpowering. The chicken in the raclette dish was perfectly cooked and juicy, pairing well with the flavor of the cheese. The strawberry tart was delicious, with a tasty crust. There is a rabbit hutch in the garden with a black rabbit named Noah. Children were feeding leaves from the garden to Noah, who ate them eagerly. Although I couldn't enter, it seems like the café's second floor is used for classes or exhibitions. I will definitely revisit when I crave cheese dishes.

During a break in my errands in Sendagi, I took a short walk and had lunch at this cozy restaurant near Nishi-Nippori station. The charming mountain lodge-style restaurant caught my eye, nestled quietly in a residential area with a small garden on the premises. The interior has a slightly exotic atmosphere, offering dishes like cheese fondue and raclette cheese. However, since I visited for lunch, I ordered a croissant sandwich and French toast. The croissant sandwich came with two croissants filled with your choice of ingredients - I chose egg and ham, a simple yet delicious combination. The egg was generously overflowing from the croissant, making it a hearty meal. The French toast was served with caramelized apple slices and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a sizzling skillet, providing a comforting treat. Although both dishes were tasty, I regret not trying a cheese menu item. It was my own oversight, as opting for something like raclette hot dog could have enhanced my experience at this lovely restaurant. The second floor serves as a gallery, featuring whimsical illustrations of a fairy-tale girl on the day of my visit. The restaurant also sells Swiss-inspired goods, adding to the alpine charm. Overall, it's a rare find in Tokyo where you can experience the ambiance of a mountain lodge. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

On a holiday afternoon, I headed towards Yanaka. Near the Asakura Choso Museum, I could see a mountain hut. That's where I went. I had known about it before and had seen it featured on TV, but it was my first visit. The interior of the store was full of Swiss atmosphere. My friend had a croissant sandwich with soup, which felt like a morning set. I had apple French toast. Both were very traditional and delicious. Especially the French toast, which I hadn't had in a long time, with caramelized apples and simple vanilla ice cream on top, was really tasty. After eating, I visited the Asakura Choso Museum and was amazed by the building itself.

Hello and good evening! This is a review from Tabelog with a rating of 3.44 (October 2022) about a bread-loving experience in Nishi-Nippori. On the way from Yanaka to Nishi-Nippori Station, I stumbled upon a cafe. The location was great, and the cafe had a well-maintained garden with a nice terrace seating area.
- Arrival (3:30 PM) -
No other customers at the time. The interior had a cozy mountain cabin vibe reminiscent of Zermatt. I felt like ordering cheese fondue or raclette. The background music was Swiss folk music, with accordion or harmonica sounds, and occasionally yodeling.
- Serving (3:40 PM) -
I ordered the Croissant set. It looked impressive with pumpkin potage and yogurt on the side.
- Enjoying the Food -
The Croissant sandwich was generously filled but a bit hard to eat. The lettuce, cucumber, and tomato were fresh, and the seasoning of the egg was delicious. The tuna was also tasty.
- Easy Swiss Travel Experience -
It felt like a quick trip to Switzerland. The croissant was light, and I managed to finish it. Thank you for the meal!

- Topped with chocolate ganache and cocoa powder
- The chocolate ganache is quite sweet
- The cannele itself is not overly sweet
- The shop is extremely cute, with a cozy atmosphere like a cottage in Canada
- A hidden gem with hardly anyone around, highly recommended

This is a time-shifted post. I went to a lovely wooden shop called "Chalet Suisse Mini" in Nishi-Nippori, which looks like a Swiss mountain hut. "Chalet" means mountain hut in French. The location is near the Dojinzan side exit of Nishi-Nippori Station, up the slope on Suwa Street next to Nishi-Nippori Park. In the middle of a residential area, a Swiss mountain hut appears. The Swiss flag is also displayed. Since it was getting warmer, we sat on the terrace. The garden was beautiful with a pond. There was even a swing on the terrace, and a little girl was swinging on it like Heidi, forgetting the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoying a peaceful atmosphere. In addition to water, warm herbal tea was served. This herbal tea had a refreshing flavor made from lemongrass grown in the garden. I ordered: ⭐️Strawberry Parfait 1,000 yen - A parfait overflowing with spring strawberries. It's packed with strawberries and the illustration drawn in chocolate on the plate is cute. Ingredients: White chocolate, strawberries, berry sauce, vanilla ice cream, croissant rusk, whipped cream. ⭐️Raspberry Float 650 yen - A refreshing float that is light and refreshing. I leisurely enjoyed these treats while experiencing a foreign atmosphere in the mountain hut-like shop.

I visited the restaurant on May 5, 2022, at 11:30 am. The place was almost full when I entered. It is located in Nishinippori, Arakawa-ku, Tokyo, about a 7-minute walk from JR Nippori Station, in a residential area. The restaurant is housed in a single-family home and has around 24 seats. It feels like a different world, truly Swiss. The owner seems to be Swiss, which is probably why the restaurant has an authentic Swiss feel. They offer a wide range of items like morning sets, herbal tea, cakes, and wine, with cheese fondue and raclette available by reservation only. Cheese fondue seems to be popular on social media. The sandwich set in a basket costs 1,210 yen. The interior has a nice Swiss atmosphere. While the sandwich set doesn't have a strong Swiss feel, it is delicious. I wish it had more Swiss elements, maybe the cheese fondue would be a better choice. I'm also curious about the cakes and herbal tea. The garden is well-maintained in a Swiss style, very beautiful. If you want to enjoy Swiss cuisine in a single-family restaurant in Nippori, Shalé Suisse Mini is the place to go.

Weather: Sunny
There were no customers when I visited, but by the time I left, the place had gotten busier and there was a sign outside saying "Fully booked by reservation." It might be better to make a reservation if you plan to visit for lunch. I ordered the soup and drink set for an additional 550 yen from the food menu. First, the corn soup arrived. It was so delicious with lots of corn kernels that you could tell were freshly shaved. And it was a nice surprise to receive a warm herbal tea afterwards. I ordered the Raclette Hot Dog for 1,100 yen with an iced coffee. The carrots on the salad were cut into the shape of cows. I chose this menu because I wanted a light snack, but honestly, the cost performance is not that great. However, the exterior and interior atmosphere of the place really gives off a Swiss vibe (although I've never been there), so maybe it's worth it. They also sell bread, so I bought a croissant to take home for 200 yen. It's a typical croissant, and they also offer croissant sandwiches at the shop.

Café "Chalet Suisse Mini" is located a little deep in a residential area from Nippori Station, and it opened in 1998. The café is designed to resemble a mountain hut in the Lake Geneva region of Switzerland, where the owner is from. It has a terrace with a garden, fitting well into the low-rise residential area of Yanaka. The café also hosts language and culture schools, serving as a space for social interaction. They bake bread on-site, filling the café with a delightful aroma. When it comes to sweets, you might crave something with a doughy texture. The Mont Blanc dessert is a popular choice, with a chestnut-flavored paste on a tart base. The sweetness slowly spreads from the dough, complemented by the texture of the flour and a pleasant richness from the thick oil. The café also sells herbal teas and local goods, creating a seasonal atmosphere with decorations from Switzerland. The warm and cozy space, with its wooden interior, offers a comfortable and inviting ambiance. It seems to share a common spirit with the Japanese in valuing wood, making it a place worth visiting during a stroll in the neighborhood.

I stopped by Café Schrannen in Mini, Switzerland. It's my third visit today, and I really like the calm atmosphere in this quiet residential area. I ordered an iced café au lait, but the parfaits, ice cream, and other desserts are delicious too. I will definitely come back again.

"Chara Swiss Mini Nippori is a cheese specialty shop located in Nippori. The shop offers authentic Swiss cheese fondue made by a Swiss owner. The cheese fondue course includes appetizers, salad, cheese fondue, and dessert. The main cheese fondue has a nice balance of white wine acidity and flavor. Swiss wine is also available to order in small glasses. At the end, they turn the hardened cheese into cheese crackers. Overall, a delightful experience."

There is a cute little shop located right in the middle between Nippori and Nishi-Nippori. As I turned the corner, a charming shop resembling a Swiss mountain hut suddenly appeared. The shop specializes in buffet-style parties, with cheese fondue as their signature menu. Since I don't eat dairy or meat, I consulted with the organizer, and they agreed to add more vegetable dishes for me. The staff at the shop seemed to have put a lot of thought into it, as there were several dishes prepared for me on the buffet plate. There were dishes like mixed bean and hijiki salad, salad with glass noodles, tofu dishes, pickles, ratatouille, and more. The tofu dishes and ratatouille were delicious. While everyone else was served vegetable raclette cheese, I was given vegetable spring rolls and a vegetable plate (served with olive oil and salt). I was truly impressed. The drinks included rare Swiss beer and wine, herbal tea, and juice, all-you-can-drink. It was a pleasant gathering, and I left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

Looking back, before the pandemic, we were able to enjoy cheese fondue together. It was a great memory. Thank you for the fun time. I would love to go again. On this day, there was a preschooler who enjoyed dipping and eating the cheese by themselves. It was so delightful to see them happily eating. I realized that having a grandchild is a feeling that warms the heart.

The shop is cute. Delicious. They also have miscellaneous goods, and the staff is friendly and fun. A frozen raspberry topped with ice cream, drizzled with chocolate and eaten crispy. Personally, I felt the portion was large, but I finished it. They also sell bread, so I bought it as a souvenir. They have a garden too. It feels like a trip to an extraordinary place, a power spot where you can refresh.

A friend told me about a café that looks like a Swiss mountain hut, with cute dishes and all, so I decided to check it out. Wow, I never knew there was a café like this here. It really does have that mountain hut vibe, making me feel like I'm in Switzerland. I later found out that the word "chalet" in the café's name means mountain hut in French. I was wondering why French, but then I learned that Swiss German doesn't exist, which I didn't know. It's amazing that they have so many official languages like German, French, and Italian. Most of the items were sold out, but they also sell freshly baked bread. I love bread, so that caught my interest, but I opted for tea and sweets. I chose the cake set, picking the "strawberry milk pudding" from the display case, and paired it with coffee. The coffee cup and dishes were really cute. They're so adorable that even kids would love them. They must be Swiss items. The milk pudding was quite generous in portion, topped with a thick strawberry jam-like sauce. The overall atmosphere, including the cups and dishes, is really nice. I'll definitely come back for lunch next time.

【Gourmet】ReddoVinitalia (Red Vinitalia) | Top Page February 8, 2019 (Friday)【Gourmet】ChaletSwissMini (Chalet Swiss Mini) I had known about it before, but never had the chance to go until a dinner with colleagues. We went with 4 people and shared 2 servings of cheese fondue and 2 servings of oil fondue. Here is a brief introduction with photos. Appetizers: cheese, smoked salmon, and prosciutto. It was simply delicious. Salad: fresh and tasty. In the back right, you can see the bread for the cheese fondue (I think there were 2 types). Croissants were also served separately and were quite delicious. (But actually, when I bought a different kind of croissant and had it the next morning, it wasn't as good... Maybe it had to be the original croissant). Cheese fondue: Oh, it's so delicious. The cheese didn't separate (unlike the time at home when it did and was unpleasant). We all enjoyed it. I had drunk a lot of coffee before going, which helped me control myself, otherwise I would have eaten a lot more. Oil fondue pot: It's different from cheese fondue, even from the pot. Well, there's hot oil inside. You skewer the meat on the stick (only the handle is visible) and let it cook. Oil fondue: Dip the fried meat in your favorite sauce. There were three sauces: cream, tomato, and curry. Curry goes well with anything. Sauce and mini pasta: Very small macaroni was served as a side dish. We dipped it in the sauce and ate it. Dessert and coffee: You can choose from cakes or ice cream for dessert. You can also choose between tea and coffee. It's all-inclusive. Brownie: Coated with chocolate on the top and sides, it's hard (laughs). The inside was a typical brownie, full of chocolate flavor. All of this cost about 4500 yen per person. The restaurant was quite busy, but with few staff, so sometimes we had to remind them to bring water (laughs). Despite that, we had a fun and delicious dinner. Wine lovers would enjoy it even more with wine, and it would raise the excitement level.

I entered a log house restaurant and was greeted by a pleasant smell of cheese. The cheese fondue and chocolate fondue seem to be popular here. This time, my friend had cheesecake and iced coffee, while I had chocolate brownie and iced tea. The smell reminded me of the time I lived in a log house and overseas, bringing back nostalgic memories. The cheesecake was moist, and the chocolate brownie was good, but I prefer something sweeter. I look forward to trying the fondue next time.

In the hilly area between Nippori and Nishi-Nippori in Bunkyo Ward, there are many temples and a spot called Fujimi-zaka where you can see Mount Fuji. To get to "Chalet Suisse Mini," besides the route from the police box near Nishi-Nippori Station on the Metro side, you can also take the tunnel by the bicycle parking between the sports clubs NAS and Dynam on the east side, head towards Yanaka, climb the shrine, and go from Surugadai Street. The highly recommended menu item is definitely the cheese fondue. The Swiss owner suggested adding lots of black pepper for better taste, and he was right. The cheese fondue is incredibly delicious!
