My intuition was right on point. This restaurant was the one that caught my attention the most among those featured in magazines or found through online searches. Despite the slight wait due to its popularity, I was determined to try it out. Initially, there were about 5 groups ahead of us in line, but after a while, we became the second group. The staff efficiently took our orders to reduce the waiting time, and although we had to wait a bit inside, it didn't feel like a long wait. We sat at the counter seats where we could see the food being cooked live, which was quite enjoyable. Since I wasn't very hungry, I decided to order smaller portions of the signature dishes, the Mitsuno-yaki and the Seafood Mix Modern-yaki. When the food arrived, I took a bite and was blown away by the incredible taste. It was unlike any okonomiyaki I had ever tried before. Additionally, when my husband accidentally dropped some food on his clothes, the cook immediately handed us an alkaline wet tissue to clean it up, which was very impressive. The attention to detail was outstanding. Another touching moment was when the owner, or perhaps the head waitress, asked if we were okay with ordering smaller portions, considering we had already eaten some kushikatsu. And at the end, she kindly reminded us to come back for kushikatsu next time. The staff at the grill were a few young, handsome men. Despite being a popular and busy restaurant, it had a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Today I was in the mood for "negiyaki," so I decided on "Mitsuno" after looking through various playlists. I was excited because it was my number one must-try dish after seeing it being cooked last time (about a 30-minute wait). The menu includes options like pork spicy yaki for 440 yen and a mixed negiyaki (pork, squid, shrimp) for 1,300 yen, plus a set with bottled beer. The sight of multiple negiyaki being cooked at once is impressive. The negiyaki is made with thick green onions piled high on a thin crepe-like batter, sandwiched with grilled pork and a generous amount of ingredients. There is almost no batter, just a lot of green onions. It is finished with soy sauce and optional mayonnaise on top. The aroma of the sweet and savory grilled green onions fills the mouth. The negiyaki is unlike any I've seen before. It is difficult to cut due to the long green onions, but the taste is exceptional. It feels like having the incredibly delicious grilled green onions at an izakaya all to yourself, with plenty of hot ingredients. Satisfaction guaranteed! This is a common experience with okonomiyaki and negiyaki – once you have one, you always crave the other.

First visit. I wanted to eat okonomiyaki in Osaka, so I researched a few other restaurants besides Mitsuno-san before visiting. Actually, I went to other restaurants first, but there were over 30 groups waiting in line, so I gave up and visited this restaurant. It was after 3:00 PM, but there was still a line of over 10 groups... I braved the wait and was seated after about 30 minutes, ordering Mitsuno-yaki, negiyaki, and more. The okonomiyaki, cooked in front of me at the counter, was exquisite. I was extremely satisfied with the unexpectedly delicious taste. Thank you for the meal!

On Sunday at 4:00 PM, I entered the restaurant in less than 10 minutes. The customers were about half Japanese and half foreigners, with many white people. I was curious if okonomiyaki would suit them. I chose the pork and squid okonomiyaki. It arrived in about five minutes. It was smaller than I expected, tasty but not impressive. If I had waited for an hour for this, I would be disappointed, but since it was served quickly, it was okay. I don't plan to revisit because I want to try other places.

This is a store that can be said to be worth stopping by Osaka to visit. I haven't been able to find anything like this in Tokyo. I've tried various okonomiyaki in Osaka, but everything else seems like it can be eaten in Tokyo as well. This yam okonomiyaki is the only one made without flour, but still tastes delicious! The texture is fluffy and irresistible. Even though there was almost an hour wait due to inbound customers, I easily finished one by myself!

I was surprised to see a long line already before 11 o'clock. I couldn't get in at the first lot, but I was able to enter around 11:45. Since I had pre-ordered, the food came out quickly. The yam cake was fluffy and delicious. I really liked the scent of yuzu.

Today, I went to my second restaurant of the day. Since there is no Bon holiday system, I decided to make good use of my time instead of just drinking at home, so I braved the long line at "Mitsuno" restaurant. I used to come here 4-5 times before the pandemic, but recently I have been avoiding it due to the long queues. It's hot even though it's inside an arcade. The line is full of exotic atmosphere. It took 45 minutes to get inside from the "we won't accept any more customers" sign. They take your order while you're waiting in line, so by the time you sit down, your food is almost ready. The person grilling the food doesn't even have time to stop, they are constantly cooking. I ordered the following:
- Yam pickles: 330 yen
- Minced meat and shrimp mix okonomiyaki: 1,045 yen
The yam pickles were cold and refreshing, highly recommended! In this hot weather, pickles as a side dish really bring a cooling sensation to your mouth. I chose a less popular menu item, the minced meat and shrimp okonomiyaki. It was a simple combination of two ingredients that I wanted to try. The texture was interesting, with the vegetables being crunchy and the dough being fluffy. The sauce was not overly sweet, with a nice spicy kick. The dough melts in your mouth, while the vegetables remain crunchy, creating a unique texture. The minced meat makes it a bit difficult to pick up with chopsticks as it tends to fall apart when cut. The combination of ingredients, dough, sauce, and cooking, was all good, but personally I prefer a simpler taste. However, many people love the complexity of flavors at this popular restaurant. I enjoyed it and finished it quickly. Moving on, I really want to try the "negiyaki" at "Mitsuno" next time!

Today, I visited Mitsuno, a popular restaurant near Dotonbori, to try their Mitsuno-yaki and Doton soba. It was a bustling entertainment district with a unique atmosphere similar to a festival. Mitsuno is a long-established flour shop founded in 1945, and when I arrived around 3 pm, there was still a line of 10 people waiting, which surprised me. The Mitsuno-yaki I had today contained six ingredients: pork, minced meat, squid, shrimp, scallops, and octopus. It was delicious with the chewy noodles and sweet and savory sauce. Mitsuno's specialty is adding minced meat to their okonomiyaki and soba, which enhances the sweetness and umami flavor, making it incredibly tasty. The rich sauce complemented the dish perfectly. I would love to come back here again when I'm near Dotonbori. The total cost for today's meal for two people was 4,325 yen. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I arrived around 5:30 on a weekday! There were about 20 people waiting in line for about 40 minutes! The pleasant customer service system where they take orders in advance! I heard that the yam okonomiyaki is delicious, so I ordered the yam okonomiyaki and the Mitsuno-yaki Modern-yaki! Be careful, as you cannot add more orders later! The yam okonomiyaki with yuzu was delicious, while the other okonomiyaki was just average! Thank you for the meal!

I went to the okonomiyaki restaurant "Mizuno"! The restaurant had a good rating on Tabelog, so I decided to check it out. The turnover rate was good, and I only had to wait for about 20 minutes before being seated at the counter on the first floor. I ordered yam okonomiyaki and a beer. Since it's a popular spot, you have to order outside and can't make additional orders inside. Despite waiting outside in the heat, the beer was delicious! The yam okonomiyaki had a unique texture, being very soft and gooey due to the yam. It was my first time trying this kind of okonomiyaki, and it was delicious! Thank you for the meal. ★★★★★ - I definitely want to go again! Highly recommended!

There are a lot of foreign customers riding on the Michelin, so you can't order a second one, but you can order drinks. Okonomiyaki comes out one after another, so you have to eat fast to avoid burning it. The turnover rate might be fast, but I wonder if Tokyo residents want to eat slowly.

I usually go to Amino-ya, but it was closed, so I came here. There were many foreigners lining up, even on a weekday around 1 pm, and I waited for about 50 minutes. I ordered a Mitsuno-yaki and a ginger ale. By the time I sat down, the okonomiyaki was already done, topped with sauce, etc., and I could eat it right away. When I took a bite, I was like, "Huh, not delicious, really?" It felt different from Amino-ya, where they make it from scratch in front of you. It seemed like they focused more on efficiency. It looked delicious, but...

I was feeling a bit hungry so I decided to search for okonomiyaki. It was around 3 PM so there wasn't a long line like usual, and I was able to get the second most popular special okonomiyaki. I usually go for the pork okonomiyaki, but this time I tried the seafood one for the first time in 20 years. The amount of seafood was decent, and it was cut into large pieces with a good texture. The pork was thinly sliced and blended well with the flavors of the dish, creating a semi-soft type of okonomiyaki. Overall, it was delicious.

I will report on a popular restaurant that was selected as one of the "Top 100 Okonomiyaki Restaurants" on the food review site. The 23rd installment is "Okonomiyaki Mitsuno," a long-established restaurant in Osaka Minami. The restaurant was founded in 1945, making it a representative okonomiyaki restaurant in Osaka with a history of 78 years. It has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand every year since 2016, making it a popular spot in Osaka Minami. The restaurant is located at 1-4-15 Dotonbori, Chuo-ku, Osaka. After visiting Osaka Castle, we took the subway to Nipponbashi Station on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line. We walked about 5 minutes to reach the restaurant. Upon arrival at 5:50 pm, we saw a line of about 15 groups of people waiting outside. The menu is available in multiple languages to cater to both Japanese and international visitors. We ordered the popular dishes: Yamaimo-yaki with pork belly and shrimp, Mix-yaki with seafood, Modern-yaki with pork and squid, Western-style Modern-yaki with pork, bean sprouts, and konjac noodles, and Sweet and Spicy Yakisoba. The dishes were cooked quickly and efficiently by the young staff members. The final presentation of the dishes was artistic, with a signature swirl of sauce, mayonnaise, and seaweed. The ingredients are sourced mainly from the nearby Kuromon Market, ensuring freshness and quality. The okonomiyaki was delicious and satisfying, showcasing the expertise of Osaka's culinary professionals. We left the restaurant at 7:30 pm, and the line outside had grown even longer. It is recommended to visit before 6 pm to avoid long waits. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience at this renowned Osaka restaurant.

I lined up around Sunday afternoon, and was told there would be about a 1-hour wait. Surprisingly, I was able to get in after waiting for about 30 minutes. The okonomiyaki was fluffy and had a solid flavor with a hint of nostalgia. Definitely worth trying when sightseeing in Osaka!

It was a weekend night, and even as closing time approached, there was a constant line of customers, showing that this place is truly popular. The operation of the restaurant seemed well-managed due to its popularity, and the turnover rate appeared to be good. The top 3 popular menu items all caught my eye, so I decided to order a set to try them all. I ordered the set, mini yam omelette, mini Mitsuno-yaki, and green onion pancake. The staff prepared the food right in front of me, creating a fun atmosphere even before I started eating. In terms of taste, they were all delicious, with the yam omelette being especially amazing as the top-ranked item! If I have the chance to come again, I will definitely order the large yam omelette without a doubt. ◎

I arrived after 7 PM and lined up, as I couldn't eat here last time and wanted to give it another try. I waited for about an hour and managed to get in before the closing time at 9 PM, so I ate in a bit of a hurry. I tried the fluffy yam cake and the classic "modern" cake, both of which were delicious. The sauce was especially tasty. It was worth the wait!! I was also able to use a coupon I got from the Osaka travel discount.

I have tried to visit this place multiple times over the past 10 years, but there was always a long line. Two weeks ago, I came on a Tuesday evening around 5 pm and was told the wait would be an hour, so I gave up. I decided to try again from Shizuoka for revenge on Friday around 1 pm and only waited 20 minutes to get in. While waiting in line, I looked at the menu and placed my order, so the food arrived promptly after I sat down. I ordered the Hozenshi Set (for 3-4 people) as there were 4 of us. It was a great deal as we got to try a variety of dishes. The items we ordered were: Yamaimo Yaki (pork belly, scallops), Negi Yaki (green onion with pork and kimchi), Mini Mitsuno Yaki (mix of 6 popular okonomiyaki), Modern Yakisoba (with pork and squid), Yakisoba (with pork, squid, and mushrooms), and Oolong tea. Everything was delicious and I'm glad we waited in line. It was worth coming to Osaka.

"Mitsunoyaki" is a popular restaurant located a 5-minute walk from Namba Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line. It is known for its signature dish, the "Mitsunoyaki MIX Modern" which includes pork, squid, shrimp, scallops, octopus, and special minced meat toppings on a fluffy egg and flour base. The restaurant has 38 seats, with 12 at the counter and 26 at tables. On weekdays, arriving at 10:30 am puts you around 14th in line, with around 40 people waiting when it opens. Orders are taken verbally, and the restaurant does not provide table-side condiments. You can find more information on Google Local Guide and Instagram.
