On the third day in Osaka, while heading to Namba Parks, we stumbled upon "Namba Udon" restaurant. Despite having a hearty breakfast at Hotel Hillarys Shinsaibashi, I couldn't resist the urge to try their udon as a Kagawa prefecture resident. The menu board outside displayed prices starting from 240 yen, which was very affordable and made me happy. We quickly bought our meal tickets from the machine, with me choosing the Tempura Udon and my companion choosing the Oroshi Bukkake Soba. The restaurant had a simple counter seating arrangement, with a few other customers including a foreign couple. The Tempura Udon arrived with shrimp tempura, green onions, and shredded seaweed on top of thin, white noodles. The broth was delicious and had a subtle sweetness. The tempura soaked in the broth added to the overall flavor. The Oroshi Bukkake Soba was topped with lemon, green onions, shredded seaweed, kamaboko, grated daikon, and tempura scraps. While the noodles lacked chewiness, the broth was tasty and not too sweet. Despite the lack of firmness in the noodles, the affordable prices, delicious broth, and overall atmosphere left us completely satisfied. The sight of other customers quietly enjoying their meals and swiftly leaving added to the charm of the experience.

[Namba Shomin Udon's Kofuku] Tempura Udon 350 yen. It's nice that it's not standing eating at this price. The counter is in a "Co" shape with 11 seats. There are 3 ticket machines, quite a lot haha. The broth is sweet, with plenty of green onions, soft and slightly thick udon noodles. The restaurant even has an Instagram? QR code. It's located on the north side of Takashimaya and the south side of Marui, with the square undergoing renovation. I hope this place survives even as development progresses.

If you're from Kansai, you probably know about "kizami udon." Recently, the prices at udon shops around here have been going up frequently. Every restaurant is forced to raise prices because of various reasons. The tempura udon is delicious. It's priced at 350 yen (as of September 2023), which may not be high, but it doesn't feel cheap either. Maybe the prices were too low in the past? It's sad, we may never return to the days when a cabbage yakisoba in Namba was only 100 yen.

The noodles are cheap but delicious! I recommend the beef udon with slightly sweet broth, thin and soft noodles, and tender beef without any unpleasant smell. It's unique that they include onions in it, right? My family had the plain udon, but the broth tasted different. The Chinese soba also looked delicious.

After a long time, I went to Namba Udon. As someone who has known it for about 20 years, the fact that the kitsune udon now costs 310 yen is kind of disappointing... Well, it's still quite cheap, but as a user from the time when it used to cost less than 200 yen, it's a bit of a letdown, haha. The taste is still the same though.

There are quite a few udon restaurants like this in Osaka, right? I was surprised when I felt satisfied after eating at one in Shinsekai. I liked the simplicity of it. This time, I tried to follow that example. I had kake udon, which is pretty common, and there's nothing particularly special about it. But when you encounter a gentle broth, it creates a sense of satisfaction. It's really surprising that these kinds of restaurants are everywhere. Thank you for the meal.

After visiting Namba Grand Kagetsu, I felt a bit peckish before dinner and decided to have some udon as a snack. I had the Kishimen for 310 yen, which came with sliced fried tofu, green onions, and bonito flakes as toppings. Even without any extra options, the toppings were plentiful. The light-colored dashi broth, unique to the Kansai region, was a nice touch that reminded me that I was in Osaka.

I am "Noronori," who mainly walks around eating lunch in Sakai. Every time I pass by this place, there is a nice smell of broth. I always enjoyed the scent as I walked by, so I finally decided to go in. As soon as you enter, there is a ticket vending machine. I bought the 340 yen mountain vegetable soba and sat at the counter seat. The water is self-serve. The mountain vegetables and green onions were plentiful and delicious (`ー´)ノ It's like station soba, which I really like. Thank you for the meal.

I was impressed by the high ratings on Tabelog for this standing udon and soba shop right in the middle of Namba. I was planning to go to Futami's pork bun shop nearby, but I knew just eating pork buns wouldn't fill me up, so I decided to visit this place for the first time. I opted for the buckwheat soba this time since I plan to eat pork buns later. The service was fast thanks to their quick turnover. The soba they served had a nice aroma of dashi broth. When I took a sip of the broth, I was surprised at how delicious it was, especially for a dish that costs around 200 yen. The flavor of the soba matched well with the broth, creating a great combination. The broth was served hot, so those with sensitive tongues need to be careful. Thank you for the meal!

I became a lunch refugee and visited after 2 PM. The famous okonomiyaki restaurant was bustling with inbound tourists, but this place seems to be more of a local favorite with an old-fashioned atmosphere. I was happy to find chairs as I was tired. You hand over a food ticket and eat here. The soup is rich and the noodles are soft, similar to Fukuoka udon. I would like to visit again.

Today, I went on a food tour in the Namba area♡٩( 'ω' )و For the second stop, I visited "Namba Udon," a famous standing-eating spot just a 1-minute walk from Nankai Namba Station. Although it is known for standing and eating, you can actually sit down here♪ Many of my fellow foodies have also visited this place. - Tempura Udon: 310 yen You get your food in just 2 minutes after sitting down. The hot broth has a gentle Kansai-style flavor. The large tempura is the dry type, but you can still taste the flavor of dried shrimp. Surprisingly, the tempura doesn't get soggy even when soaked in the broth. The noodles are the smooth and soft type typical of Osaka udon, and I quite like them. The portion was satisfying, almost as if there was more than one serving in the bowl. In the past, the cheapest kake udon (soba) used to be 170 yen, but it has been raised to 240 yen... ( ノД`) Despite the price increase, the portion size is still generous, so it's relatively high in cost performance. The restaurant is open from 6 am to midnight, which explains its popularity. I didn't see the famous owner that my foodie friends had mentioned. Maybe it was just a quiet day... (*¯艸¯) ===========

I visited in the evening. I was torn between ramen and udon, but I was attracted by the low prices here. - Tsukimi Udon 230 yen The udon arrived in just 1 minute, so fast. It was hot with plenty of broth. The broth was rich and the udon noodles were soft and chewy. When you mix in the egg, it becomes half-cooked because the broth is hot. This taste at this price is the best. The person next to me ordered a parent and child bowl, which was huge. I want to try that as a set next time I come. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Namba Udon, a popular restaurant located right by Namba Station. Although the curry udon is said to be popular, since it was my first time at the restaurant, I decided to try the tempura soba. You buy a meal ticket from the ticket machine and your order is ready in no time. The tempura, shaped like a leaf and generously topped with green onions, goes well with the rich and delicious broth. It has the typical taste of standing-eating soba in Kansai. I would like to try the highly-rated curry udon next time.

The nearby stores may change, but Namba Udon has always been at this location. The parent and child bowl set with minced udon costs 530 yen. The bowl comes with chopped seaweed and pickled radish. The set is a good deal and very satisfying. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will visit again.

I was nearby due to work and decided to look up somewhere for lunch. This place was close by. It was lunchtime, so there were quite a few people, but places like this have a quick turnover. I ordered curry udon. It was simple and delicious! Curry udon can be surprisingly good, or not so good, but it's usually not a big miss. Curry seems to never be a big disappointment. Udon also tends to be pretty good. However, curry udon can sometimes be disappointing. But this place served a delicious one!

"Namba Udon" - I tried the Tsukimi Udon for 230 yen. It is definitely cheap. However, I felt that the quality of the udon was not that high. The noodles were a bit rough and the broth was a little weak. Still, at this price, you can't expect too much. The high rating on Tabelog (currently 3.53) may have raised my expectations.

Regular kake udon is ¥200. Marugame Seimen charges ¥290, so it's priced at 2/3, and the taste is decent. The ¥60 kitsune age is also cheap. The discussion point here is not about what tastes good, but about the extreme pricing strategy. However, I don't think the restaurant is thinking about that at all.

After drinking in Minami, what I crave as a finishing touch is the soba here. I insert 260 yen into the vending machine, fill up water myself, and take a seat at an empty table. When I hand the food ticket to the staff, they take out the soba from the bag brought from the noodle factory and start boiling it with a timer set. The tanuki soba, topped with large sweet and spicy fried tofu, costs 260 yen. The fried tofu spread across the bowl looks delicious. Despite the recent price hikes, they are trying their best with a surprisingly low price. And you can sit down and enjoy your meal, not just stand and eat. The soba lacks firmness but comes with a rich and tasty soup. The clear soup is rich in flavor. Located at 3-2-14 Namba, Chuo-ku, Osaka City.

I visited the restaurant "Namba Udon" for lunch that day. It is located just across the pedestrian bridge in front of Nankai Namba Station. This place, which has been operating at surprisingly low prices in this location for a long time, is a true Osaka udon shop bearing the name of Namba. I bought a ticket at the ticket machine inside the shop and sat at the available counter. I ordered the "kitsune udon for 260 yen", which is a large sweet udon topped with a big piece of Osaka-style fried tofu for only 260 yen. The broth is Kansai-style and very easy to eat, making it perfect for when you're a little hungry or in a hurry. The turnover rate at this shop is also impressive, with a diverse customer base including middle-aged men, salarymen, and couples. This place is probably popular due to its location. It is the shop that sparked my personal Osaka udon shop boom. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant on a weekday night in August 2022. I arrived a little after 8:30 pm and purchased kitsune udon and a topping voucher from the ticket machine. I sat at an empty counter seat and handed the voucher to the staff, requesting a topping of egg. After a short wait, my udon arrived. The broth was delicious as always, and the udon, seasoned aburaage, and the richness of the egg combined to make it very tasty. I finished every last drop of the broth and all the flavors today. Thank you for the meal!

I've been craving for curry udon for a long time, but I still haven't been able to go. In addition, I keep reacting to the posts of my favorite reviewers, so my list of places to visit keeps growing (laughs). Alright, it's a break in the rainy season, I should go. I usually go out alone, so it's okay. If I go with my wife, she'll probably say, "Why do I have to go along with your hobby..." From JR Namba, I walk to the place. I know the location and have passed by it many times, but I've never actually been there. I order curry udon with extra noodles and an egg for a total of 540 yen. It's a bit of a splurge. It's 1:30 pm, so I avoid the peak hours, but it's still full. That's okay, it will clear up soon. There are three staff members, one of whom is a non-native speaker, her voice is a bit soft. If she speaks with more confidence, it would be better. I wait for a while, and then my order arrives. The portion is huge! It's like having two regular bowls. The balance of onions and pork slices is good, but there's a bit less meat. The price is fair. However, the udon noodles are a bit thin for Osaka udon. It would be better if they had more chewiness. Overall, I think I prefer kitsune or kizami udon over curry udon. Thank you for the meal!
