The other day, I saw a fellow reviewer grinding wasabi and it made me crave some too. So, I decided to visit "Shuhari" in Sennichimae. Despite the morning rain, it was still hot and humid, so I opted for a light soba dish. I ordered the "Ten Mori Soba" with standard 80% buckwheat soba. Shortly after, I was served with wasabi, soba dipping sauce, and green onions. It's always nice that they provide extra soba dipping sauce upfront! I grated the wasabi in a circular motion and it was ready. First, a platter of assorted tempura was served. It came with tempura dipping sauce, but I prefer salt. The tempura included shrimp, eggplant, okra, pumpkin, water eggplant, ginger, burdock, carrot, bell pepper, lotus root, and shimeji mushrooms. Each piece was small but the variety was delicious! Now, onto the soba. I started by eating it with salt. Despite the season, the soba had a great texture and smoothness. The flavor was a bit subtle, but still delicious. After enjoying it with salt, I added wasabi on top and dipped it lightly in the soba dipping sauce. The combination of wasabi's flavor with the sweet dashi broth was delightful. Slurping the soba and savoring each piece of tempura, it truly felt like happiness. Finally, a rich soba broth was served, which was enhanced by the initial soba dipping sauce. It was a delicious meal. Thank you!
