Each branch of "Suage" offers a different soup selection strategy, and the Kichijoji branch introduces a Tokyo-first green soup to its menu. A must-try is the Fresh Lamb Vegetable Curry with Green Soup. The green soup, made with spinach, is different from green curry and has a refined umami flavor that complements the vegetables and meat well. The tender fresh lamb soaked in the green soup is a delight. Don't forget to order the Guarana, a popular drink among Hokkaido locals. Suage, a popular soup curry restaurant in Sapporo, has been steadily expanding its presence in Tokyo, with the latest addition being the Kichijoji branch. I ordered the signature crispy Shiretoko chicken and 7 vegetable curry. While there are exclusive soups available at the Kichijoji branch, I opted for the regular one. I chose the spicy level, and the deep, comforting flavor beautifully complemented the spiciness. The meat and vegetables skewered in the curry added an interesting twist, and the deliciousness accumulates as you eat. In the curry world, it's common for the taste to vary between branches or for the original taste to deteriorate with expansion, but I think they are managing it well here, maintaining the essence of the original taste.

Around 12:30 on a normal day. There were a few customers already, but I was seated quickly. I ordered the Chicken Leg Curry. I chose the fried option for the chicken leg instead of stewed. The curry had a gentle, flavorful soup base. When paired with rice, it made the rice's sweetness even milder. The chicken leg had a crispy surface and a satisfying texture. The meat was tender and easily fell apart with a spoon. I enjoyed a delicious soup curry.

I was able to get in without waiting at 11:30 on Saturday. I ordered the sesame curry. I chose a spice level of 3 (medium spicy), but I think I could have handled a recommended level of 4 spicy! I got a small portion of rice. Overall, it was delicious. I particularly liked the Inca Awakening dish.

I've been curious about Soup Curry Kichijoji since it opened. The interior is cozy and easy to enter even for solo diners! I had the Vegetable Curry level 4 spicy with cheese topping and plain lassi. The curry had lots of vegetables and was very delicious. I think I can handle level 5 spicy next time!

Zangi soup curry After walking around looking for a place to have lunch in Kichijoji, I stumbled upon this place while waiting at a pedestrian crossing. I decided to try the zangi (Hokkaido-style fried chicken) option. The fried chicken was very juicy, with a crispy texture where it wasn't soaked in soup. The soup was more like a spiced broth than curry. The large vegetables had a strong presence and paired well with the soup. I tried adding lemon to the soup, and the added acidity made it refreshing and delicious. However, as always, I find that soup curry tends to be a bit pricey at most places.

I visited this restaurant because even though I went to Sapporo, the famous local shops had long lines and I couldn't visit them easily. It was late evening on a weekend, but I was able to enter without waiting in line. I ordered the "Zangi Curry" and my friend ordered the "Shiretoko Chicken Curry." The "Zangi Curry" I received had two large zangi pieces, but the vegetables were the highlight. There were big cylindrical carrots, whole Inca's Awakening, eggplants, lotus roots, pumpkins, and more, all with strong and sweet flavors. The zangi was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, just like the one I had at a famous zangi shop in Sapporo. The soup soaked into the zangi, creating a new deliciousness. I chose the second spiciest level, "Piri Piri," for the curry base. It wasn't too spicy, but my neck was sweating a bit, showing the power of the spices. You can also add cheese topping to the rice, which enhances the flavor. I tried a piece of the Shiretoko Chicken from my friend, and it had a firm and flavorful texture. I'm grateful for being able to enjoy the taste of Hokkaido in this convenient environment. If I ever want to reminisce about Hokkaido again, I will definitely come back here.

I happened to come across a restaurant in Kichijoji and decided to drop in. The restaurant is small with a few tables and counter seats. The ordering system involves choosing a soup, spiciness level, rice, toppings, etc. The photos below show two dishes: - Homemade Zangi and 7 kinds of vegetable curry - Tomato and herb summer vegetable curry Although the recommended spiciness level is 4 out of 6, I chose level 3. The soup was light and delicious. Even at level 3, it was mildly spicy, so those who are not fond of spiciness may want to choose level 1 or 2. The curry had plenty of vegetables, making it seem healthy. Squeezing the lemon provided with the rice added a nice touch. It was convenient to be able to pay with QR code.

This time, I had the "Luxurious Curry". Looking at past photos, it used to be 1,530 yen until 2 months ago, but now it's 1,730 yen, a 200 yen increase. Luxurious indeed. The Chishimachicken and pork belly are crispy, and the carrots are big yet tender. There's also sweet potatoes called "Inca's Awakening", eggplant, pumpkin, shiitake mushrooms, boiled egg, watercress, and bell peppers. If you want to enjoy the best parts of the menu, I recommend choosing this one. I also ordered "Imomochi" for 150 yen, although it wasn't shown in the photo. It was placed on top of the watercress in the curry, so I had to use a spoon to avoid it. It would have been better if it was served on a separate plate. The Imomochi is made with Inca's Awakening, fried to be crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It's sweet and delicious. It would probably be popular if sold as a snack while walking around.

I have been going to this soup curry restaurant since last year, and I just can't eat anywhere else after trying Suage's curry. I love it so much. I visited this place for the "Soup Curry New Year" and as always, I chose the Suage soup, with a small portion of rice and topped with braised pork and 2-3 other toppings of my choice (usually broccoli and some other vegetables). The softness of the meat that falls apart easily with just a fork and spoon is irresistible! For some reason, I feel strangely calm at the counter of the Kichijoji branch. The service is quick, and I will continue to visit this place in the future.

The interior of the restaurant had an American atmosphere. I ordered the raw lamb soup curry with crispy Shiretoko chicken topping, and cheese on the rice. The cheese topping on the rice was delicious as the cheese was grilled and fragrant, and it didn't harden until the end, so I definitely recommend this topping. As for the soup curry, the raw lamb and Inca awakening potatoes were really delicious!

I visit Kichijoji for an event every 1-2 months. Today, I decided to try Suage for the first time because I was craving soup curry. I ordered the spicy rice with lamb and 8 kinds of vegetable curry, with medium rice portion, and the monthly special strawberry lassi for my drink. I hate to say this, but the soup curry tasted kind of like a chain restaurant... It was neither good nor bad, lacking in uniqueness. On the bright side, it's easy for anyone to eat since it doesn't have a strong flavor. I chose a medium rice portion, but if you want to mix all the curry soup with rice to make curry rice, it's better to go for a large portion. The medium portion was enough for me. There are counter seats for solo diners, and for some reason, there are solo seats facing the back like in a school, which I found a bit tough... but I guess it gets crowded. Oh, the strawberry lassi was more like a shake than a lassi, very rich. Thank you for the meal.

It's natural to respect the main store more than the local one. I don't watch TV, I'm not interested in idols, actresses, or entertainment in general, so I don't really understand what it's all about. But the desire to sell is clearly conveyed. Since it's a combination of seafood and plenty of vegetables in green curry, there should be a lot of enjoyment packed in it. I made the right choice by ordering the "Seafood Green Curry that makes you fall in love with curry" for the protein enhancement, and the Zangi (Hokkaido-style fried chicken) that came with it. This green curry is green like spinach. Despite the watery soup, it has a creamy texture on the tongue, which is a skillful finish. The large shrimp and scallops give a seafood flavor and are very delicious. And above all, the bowl full of deep-fried vegetables, as advertised, "all the blessings of Hokkaido in one dish," is irresistibly delicious and satisfying. The price is high, but Suage provides a sense of satisfaction that matches the price. As a curry restaurant counted among the top 100 in Japan, Suage fully demonstrated its brand value with a dish that was truly enjoyable. Soup curry is really great in the cold season. I visited Suage for the third time, this time at the Kichijoji store. I don't usually eat soup curry, but this is my favorite place so far! I tried the limited edition Zangi this time, and it was juicy with just the right amount of spice in the soup. I want to eat it again!

Soup curry with plenty of chunky vegetables that have been well simmered is delicious. I went there on a weekday evening after 5 pm. It may be a little hard to find from the street. You have to go up the stairs to the second floor. I was seated right away. I ordered the Spicy Level 5 (Extra Spicy) Lamb and Vegetable Curry for 1380 yen. I also added Pumpkin Mochi for 120 yen as recommended on the table. The dish arrived shortly after. Despite the menu name being "lamb," there was quite a lot of well-cooked lamb meat. There were also thickly sliced carrots and potatoes, along with plenty of vegetables like pumpkin, okra, eggplant, and baby corn. The deliciousness of the cooked vegetables was evident. The carrots were particularly tasty. The Pumpkin Mochi consisted of fried pumpkin puree mixed with chewy mochi. The texture was interesting, although the oil from the batter was a bit heavy. Considering the price of 120 yen, it was acceptable. The Extra Spicy level was indeed spicy. They also offer an even spicier option for those who enjoy heat. The lamb meat may have been overcooked as I didn't really taste the expected flavor of lamb.

I visited the restaurant around 1 pm on a weekday and was seated immediately without having to wait. I was directed to a counter seat, but as there were no available seats, I was asked to sit at a single seat by the wall which seemed like a counter seat as well. The menu was explained to me as a first-time customer. I ordered the Crispy Shiretoko Chicken and Vegetable Curry (spicy) and a Mango Lassi (free with LINE registration). The curry had a lot of vegetables which I was happy about. They were all sweet and delicious, especially the Inca's Awakening. The carrots were thick but soft, and the fried shiitake mushrooms were crispy and flavorful. The curry was moderately spicy, so it should be fine for those who don't like very spicy food. The Shiretoko chicken wasn't as crispy as I expected and looked smaller than in the photos. The portion of rice seemed small, but with all the vegetables, it was actually a generous amount, especially for women. I was full! My husband had mentioned that the pumpkin mochi was delicious when he visited before, but I was too full to try it. The service was good, with one very friendly staff member and one average staff member. It was convenient to have the restroom inside the restaurant, and it was warm inside.

When I visited Hokkaido, I was so moved that I decided to visit the Kichijoji branch. I added seseri and topped the rice with cheese. The broth was still flavorful and delicious. But I feel like the one in Hokkaido left a more delicious impression.

I had a bit of a luxurious curry for 1,530 yen with a side of broccoli for 150 yen. I went to a soup curry restaurant in Kichijoji. It was crowded on the weekend when they opened. If you're torn between chicken or pork, go for the slightly luxurious curry. The soup curry came with broccoli, and I added extra broccoli on top. The soup was plentiful and delicious.

I felt like having soup curry, so I came here. I don't eat pumpkin much, so I haven't had soup curry that often. I like eating rice soaked in soup, though. I ordered the Luxury Curry for 1530 yen, but I asked them to leave out the pumpkin. It would be nice if they offered the option to change the ingredients. The ingredients were skewered in a mysterious way. It wasn't as luxurious as I expected, so I think the default option would be better. By the way, I prefer to put the rice in my mouth first before eating the soup.

In September 2022, I visited a new soup curry restaurant in Kichijoji that had recently opened to avoid the usual long lines at Samurai. The place was called SAMA, and it was located on Inokashira Street. The restaurant had a cafe-like atmosphere, making it welcoming for solo female diners. I decided to try their lamb curry with medium spiciness, and it was served with a variety of vegetables like carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, baby corn, eggplant, okra, and boiled eggs. The curry had a light and flavorful soup base, and the vegetables were sweet and delicious. The lamb was a bit tough, but overall, the dish was satisfying and healthy. I didn't have to eat the rice because of the generous vegetable portions. The spiciness level was just right for me, but I would like to try the spicier option next time. The restaurant was popular among young women, and the meal left me feeling like I had eaten something good for my body. I look forward to trying their chicken curry with extra spiciness on my next visit.
