In the museum, there is a souvenir shop that is more like a museum shop rather than having Ghibli character goods in the vicinity. The overall items are a bit pricey, but they are carefully crafted. The only souvenir snacks available are cat-shaped candies, cookies, and winter limited edition chocolate. I went to buy the cookies, which are made by Yu... It must be good if they are making them! The coat of arms cookies cost 2160 yen (tax included). The cookies have cute designs like crosses, and come in plain, cocoa, tea, sesame, and the highlight - the museum's coat of arms sablé. It tasted just as good as I imagined, with the addition of almond powder giving it a fragrant taste. It was my favorite! Since they are not individually wrapped, once you open them, you have to finish them, but that's just how it is!

Received on August 21st, these are souvenirs from the Ghibli Museum gift shop in Mitaka, for my daughters who are tourists. The name "Mamma Yoot" is quite clever, inspired by the air pirate gang in "Porco Rosso". In Japanese, it would be "Help me, Mom!!", not a name you'd expect. It's a bit ironic that the voice actress for Madame Gina, Tokiko Kato, imagined real air pirates during the 1995 Hakodate Airport hijacking. She had to do a different job at the time due to the high-ranking officials being on standby for the emergency response. (laughs) - Ghibli Museum Original Crest Cookies These Morozoff-made cookies feature a crest inspired by Mitaka City and Inokashira Park, designed by Hayao Miyazaki. It's playful, but the meaning is at a dad joke level. The crest is embossed on small round cookies, with patterns and drawings. You can recognize Totoro and the airplane (air pirates), but what about the chick? Is it from "Spirited Away"? It's not that chubby. And the chair? Maybe from "The Secret World of Arrietty"? It's a bit too challenging. - Ghibli Museum Original Cat Candy Made of assorted candies. It's quite a fun item, with the face of the boss of the Mamma Yoot gang (laughs) intricately depicted. Totoro is easily recognizable. It's still living in the bottle. Enjoying them deliciously. Thank you for the meal.

This is the museum shop inside the Ghibli Museum. I stopped by after having lunch at the Straw Hat Cafe and going through the exhibits. The shop's name "Mamma Aiuto" refers to the air pirates in the movie "Porco Rosso." I was asked by my daughter to record "Porco Rosso," but since I haven't seen it, I have no idea. I think fans of Ghibli would be excited to visit this shop. They mainly sell food souvenirs, and I bought cat-shaped candies (842 yen) and cookies this time. They also have plush toys, which I was also persuaded to buy. They can be quite pricey. The cat-shaped candies are individually wrapped with cute characters drawn on them. They have a nostalgic sweet taste. My daughter enjoyed having one as a snack every day. There were plenty in the package, so it was nice to be able to enjoy them for a long time. (2019/08)

In June 2018, after about 5 and a half years, I made a dash to Mitaka~♪ I spent some time in Inokashira Park and arrived at the Ghibli Museum before the reserved entry time. Since it was my second visit, I'll skip the details. I had soft serve ice cream at the cafe "Mugiwara Boushi" and bought souvenirs at "Mamma Aiuto" before heading home. This was my first time writing a review since the souvenir shop was not registered during my previous visit. I think I bought typical items like the "Glowing Flying Stone" last time, but this time I purchased the "Ghibli Museum Crest Cookies". I also couldn't resist getting the Ohmu. When I got home, I tried the Ghibli Museum Crest Cookies. The cookies were decorated with a large Ghibli crest, Makkuro Kurosuke, a plane, a chick, and more, with flavors like almond, black sesame, black tea, maple, chocolate, and others. The cookies had a nice crispy texture and rich flavor. They were delicious. Thank you for the meal~

On the morning of June 29, 2018 (Day 1), I left rainy Shin-Osaka by Shinkansen and arrived at "Ghibli Museum, Mitaka" before noon. I was able to reserve the hard-to-get tickets online right when they were released, and entered at 13:40. I tried to visit the "Straw Hat Café" inside the museum, but it was too crowded, so I ended up buying a "Valley of the Wind Beer" and a "Straw Hat Hot Dog" from the takeout corner and had a light meal on the terrace. Now, let the museum tour begin, entering the world of Hayao Miyazaki! My top 3 Ghibli films are 1) Laputa: Castle in the Sky, 2) My Neighbor Totoro, and 3) Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. The first place I headed was to the rooftop of the museum, climbing the spiral staircase to meet the robot soldiers from "Castle in the Sky". They were even bigger than I expected, and I wished there were butterflies flying around! There was a cube-shaped wall from Laputa nearby, and I almost felt like shouting the spell of destruction, "Balse". Inside the museum, I explored the various exhibits in the permanent exhibition room and saw the "Cat Bus" that kids were playing around. Unfortunately, photos were not allowed inside, so I couldn't capture the Cat Bus on camera. In the screening room on the first floor, I watched a 15-minute short animation called "Mei and the Kittenbus", depicting the world of a newborn tiny kitten. Although there was no dialogue in the film, all the voices and sound effects were done by Tamori, making it really enjoyable. Finally, I did some shopping at the Museum Shop "Mamma Aiuto", which was bustling with many foreign visitors. I bought the following items, all tax-inclusive: ◆ Ghibli Museum Original Cat Candy Bottle - 842 yen ◇ Baccarat "Castle in the Sky" Levitation Stone Pendant - 27,000 yen The "Cat Candy Bottle" looked like a cat crouching down, filled with candies made using the technique of "kumiame" (layered candy), with various characters drawn on the colorful candies. It had a smooth sweetness, perfect for snacking while working on the computer. And I finally got it! The Baccarat "Castle in the Sky" Levitation Stone Pendant (^o^)/ I had been wanting this so badly. I held it in my hand and shouted the spell of destruction, "Balse". If only all nuclear weapons and missiles would disappear from this Earth! After about a 2-hour museum tour feeling like a mischievous boy again, I took the yellow city loop bus to Mitaka Station. It would have been even more fun if this bus was the "Cat Bus" (lol). I returned to Tokyo Station on the JR Chuo Line, and tonight's accommodation is at the "Tokyo Station Hotel" for the second time in three years. Bon appétit! (●^o^●) ===========

"Mamma Yoot," the souvenir shop located on the 3rd floor of the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, offers original Emblem Can Cookies for 1,728 yen. The shop features various Ghibli merchandise, but when it comes to food souvenirs, options are surprisingly limited, with this can of cookies and candy sticks being among the few choices. Inside the emblem-designed can, you'll find almond cookies shaped like the emblem itself, along with round maple, chocolate, Earl Grey tea leaf, and sesame cookies. The maple and chocolate cookies are adorned with familiar Ghibli motifs like Totoro and planes. The cookies are slightly crunchy and on the firmer side. While the cookies are made by Morozoff, the natural taste may be due to the ingredients and shapes. Despite the shop mainly offering stationery and miscellaneous goods, this can of cookies was selling like hotcakes among visitors, including foreign tourists. Souvenir snacks are easy to buy and share, so it would be nice to see more original snacks at a more affordable price. How about items like "Totoro Chocolate Crunch," "Arrietty's Herbal Tea," "Chihiro's Salted Rice Crackers," or "Ponyo Instant Ramen"? Thank you for the meal.

I received a gift set of cookies sold at the Ghibli Museum, and it is a well-rounded product. The large cookie in the center had a nice balance of sweetness and buttery flavor. The surrounding cookies added a nice texture and were not too sweet.
