I went around 6 o'clock on Friday. It was a bit intimidating before entering the restaurant because it only allows groups of two or fewer, but once inside, the atmosphere was really nice and calming. The food was delicious and I was very satisfied, but what surprised me the most was how cheap it was. I thought we spent around 5000 yen, but it was less than 3000 yen, which was amazing! I definitely want to come back to this restaurant.

I visited a standing bar for solo diners where only up to 2 people are allowed in! I felt nervous as I entered alone. When I went, they squeezed me in. The interior was dimly lit and had a stylish atmosphere, which was nice. The turnover of customers was high, so whether you can get in or not depends on the timing! __Order__ - Nori Cheese Mille-Feuille ¥330 - Yuzu Namero (a type of fish dish) ¥480 The Nori Cheese Mille-Feuille was cute. The Yuzu Namero was delicious too. I'm curious about other dishes as well. Thank you for the meal!

After finishing work, I met up with my junior colleague in Namba and decided to have a light drink before heading home at the standing bar, Otoro. Even though it was before 7 pm, we were lucky that it was not crowded probably because of the bad weather that day. We started with a Heartland beer to quench our thirst and my colleague ordered sashimi. We had Yoko and Yari Ika sashimi, which were incredibly delicious. I'm not a fan of lamb, but I do like the Squid Innards. We paired the sashimi with a glass of Ho-oh Bita, a Japanese sake. It was a perfect standing bar experience! We then had Hotaru Ika and red turnip pickles with Yamamoto sake, followed by a glass of Matsunotsukasa to finish off the night. It was a great way to recharge for tomorrow! Delicious drinks and food, thank you for the meal! We ended up going to another place after, but that's another story!笑

This is also a place I've always wanted to go to! It's a quiet place for up to two people to drink, and many people come alone, so the atmosphere inside is calm. The menu is a bit hard to read, which is a downside. Also, if you're not a fan of sake, there's only chu-hai to drink, haha. The food was as expected! Great dishes to accompany drinks, with flavorful small plates. The shirako and sashimi were also good seafood options. The staff are beautiful. It was a shame that the seaweed feuille I often saw on Instagram was sold out. All seats are standing-only, probably non-smoking? I would like to go again if I have the chance! The prices are reasonable.

This is a place where you can enjoy delicious snacks and drinks by yourself in a cozy atmosphere. I use it occasionally. It is a sister store of Ushitora, but if you want to drink in a relaxed atmosphere, I recommend this place. There is a relatively wide variety of dishes, so there is the enjoyment of ordering something different every time. There is also a rotation of various brands of sake, so you can use it without getting bored.

I had been bookmarking this place for a while, thinking "I should go someday," but when I heard it was a place for "1-2 people to quietly drink," I hesitated because I couldn't bring my chatty girlfriends. It was my first time going and I was surprised. Despite being in a quiet, obscure area, there was quite a long line. About 8 people were waiting. A standing bar with a line? Even though it's a place to drink quickly while standing, we had to wait? I don't like waiting in line, so I suggested going somewhere else, but my companion really wanted to go, so we waited... The whole place was packed. Cheers with Shiraoi and Miyamakirin! They have good sake here. 400 yen per glass. I was blown away by the seaweed mille-feuille. It's time-consuming, delicious, and beautiful. What is this! Each piece has different toppings. I think no matter how many times I come here in the future, I will always order this. The beef tendon dish, I forgot the name, is also excellent as a rich side dish. I keep eating. Keep drinking. However, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was lively and noisy. I had imagined a bar-like, dimly lit, moody place, but it was not as quiet as I had expected. It was just a regular standing bar atmosphere. The inside of the restaurant was clean, and the two waitresses were friendly, which left a good impression. The total bill for the two of us was 1550 yen. I was most surprised by the very reasonable bill on that day!!!

I really wanted to go to Toratora, a restaurant that allows solo dining or up to two people only.✔︎Bonito seared sashimi 450✔︎Mozuku seaweed and pork shabu-shabu with yuzu pepper dressing 350✔︎Nori cheese mille-feuille 350✔︎Eel and silk bean scrambled eggs 450The pricing and portion sizes are great for solo dining, and the food is just delicious♥ Each dish was carefully crafted and simply wonderful. Especially the mille-feuille was amazing... I definitely want to become a regular at this place! The staff was friendly too. I went just a little after opening and it was already full, so I recommend going early or during transition times!

Namba, second stop, Koto. I happened to come across this place that was recommended by a follower a few years ago when wandering around as Ankeraso was closed. I hesitated a bit because you couldn't see inside from outside, but the result was a big hit! The distance between customers and staff, the overwhelming deliciousness of the food, a type of restaurant that you don't find in Tokyo (well, maybe I just didn't know about it). 1) The grilled squid was so rich in flavor that I spilled some. Yes, I spilled it while drinking sake. 2) The pickled radish and pork miso were so tasty and easy to drink with. 3) Snap peas and boiled chicken breast, a gentle flavor that I like. I was thrilled. You can enjoy a mature atmosphere at the standing bar Toratora. Each homemade dish is delicious, like the taste of a warm mother's cooking. The dishes I had this time were: - Oyster gratin - Komatsuna and shirasu namul - Mozzarella cheese and trefoil salad - Sashimi of sea bream - Chicken thigh and taro stew - Potato salad - Om soba - Fried chicken wings - Grilled nagaimo and pork miso The potato salad had lots of ingredients. The komatsuna and shirasu namul is perfect for drinking. The atmosphere and the food were excellent.

I visited in the evening on a regular weekday. The place was crowded, but the customers were leaving, so I was asked to wait for a bit. I was able to enter soon after waiting. I started with a bottle of beer. For snacks, I ordered bonito sashimi. It was delicious bonito. The snacks at this place are always tasty, so I am satisfied. However, today there were three customers who were getting loud and rowdy, not caring about the people around them. They were also noisy last time, so it seems like it's becoming a trend. I had two highballs afterwards, along with potato salad and grilled duck skewers. But since the atmosphere was not conducive to quiet drinking, I decided to leave the restaurant.

The entrance was open and inviting, making it easy to enter. The interior of the restaurant was crowded, but there was depth to the space, with plenty of room towards the back. I ordered a Takodra and looked at the menu on the blackboard. It was a bit hard to read, but I could make out a few items. I ordered a few dishes and enjoyed them with some sake. I had a cup of sake in a teacup. You can order either a full cup or a half cup. While there was a menu, they also had Japanese sake not listed, and they would help you choose based on your preferences. The swordtip squid with lemon, salt, wasabi, and soy sauce was delicious. The seaweed had a firm texture and was plentiful. The dish at the bottom was possibly cow stomach, with a subtly different texture and sweetness. The lemon and salt were a nice touch. The way the swordtip squid and white onion were cut created interesting textures and the lemon juice collected in the grooves, creating a unique flavor. The aroma of the white onion and its crunchy texture were irresistible. I paired this with Hakuryu sake, which was dry, sharp, and refreshing. It was perfect for cleansing the palate after various dishes. The stir-fried clams with butter had a crunchy texture and rich flavor. I paired this with Koki, but I think it would have been better with Hakuryu. As I finished my standing meal, some customers ahead of me started paying, so it was a good time to do the same. When I asked for the bill, it was only 2,000 yen with change left over. I was surprised, and I received more coins than expected. It was quite reasonable. After paying, I heard another customer order the Densuke anago, and I thought, "Oh, I wanted to try that." I now have a reason to come back, but you never know when that will be.

I sat at the counter and ordered a highball first. For food, I ordered potato salad and amberjack sashimi. I wanted to come to this restaurant to drink slowly after the last place was very noisy, but here also the staff and customers were talking loudly, which seemed to go against the atmosphere of the restaurant. When my highball ran out, I switched to sake, but the amberjack sashimi was forgotten. I had it changed to grilled horse mackerel with vinegar miso sauce. In any case, since this place is also noisy, I have decided to leave. Although this restaurant does not allow groups of two or more customers, the atmosphere was not conducive to quiet drinking.

I visited the restaurant in the early evening, and it was almost full. I ordered a bottle of beer at the counter, specifically Heartland beer. I was secretly happy because Heartland beer is one of my favorites and many places seem to have it now. For a snack, I ordered grilled conger eel with plum paste, which was quite ordinary. After the beer, I decided to have a highball and added meatballs and tomato stew with turnips. It was delicious, and it paired well with the highball. I had another highball before heading home. This time, there were mostly solo customers, and everyone enjoyed their drinks quietly and leisurely.

I peeked in a few times but it was always full, but luckily I was nearby just after opening time so I visited for the first time. I left the choice of sake to the staff and had 3 half cups. They recommended dishes that would go well with the sake. I had suzuki and shirasu with grated daikon, Ikemitsu Ichikenmai which was quite rich, so the hirame no shirayaki was a perfect refreshing dish! When I asked about Tōyō Bijin, they kindly explained it to me. As expected, it had a plump texture and went well with wasabi and sansho. The white grape salad was a unique choice, like a white dressing instead of cream cheese. It was quite bold but it paired well with the slightly sparkling cloudy sake! Everything was a perfect choice! The operation by the two beautiful ladies was flawless. They occasionally checked on us and it was a nice gesture. I wanted to enjoy more but more customers kept coming in, so I left. It was a relaxing and enjoyable time drinking alone.

I visited the restaurant alone this time. There were 3 other customers already there. I sat at the counter and ordered a highball. For snacks, I ordered negitoro and grilled Atka mackerel. The negitoro came with seaweed, wasabi, and you had to wrap it yourself with the seaweed. It was delicious with just the right amount of fat. After a while, the grilled Atka mackerel was ready. It had a good chewy texture and a lot of flavor, which paired well with beer or highball. However, the atmosphere was not quiet as the customers and staff were talking loudly, so I left the restaurant quickly as it was not the calm drinking atmosphere I was looking for.

I also ordered some bonito sashimi as a side dish. I always enjoy the bonito at this restaurant, and today's was delicious as well. As more customers started to come in, I finished my beer and switched to cold sake, "Jokigen". They served me a half cup. I also added grilled red sea bream with sauce. It was a bit tough, but as I chewed, the flavor came out and it was delicious. It's a dish that goes well with alcohol. I decided to end my visit here today and head to my next destination.

I went to Torotsu-san for the first time in a while. It's a stylish standing bar with a dim atmosphere and delicious, elaborate small dishes. The sake selection is not too assertive, making it great for pairing with food. Everything was delicious this time as well! I sometimes visit a shop near Nihonbashi Station. It is a suitable place for when I want to drink quietly alone. Most people are alone, but sometimes there are couples too. However, there are hardly any noisy people. I visited early this day, so it was relatively empty. I started with a beer. The beer at this shop is Heartland, which I like, so I am satisfied. I ordered sashimi of yellowtail and chicken and tofu egg stew as snacks. Yellowtail during this season is delicious with good fat content. The egg stew has a relatively light taste, but it is perfect for drinking. When my beer ran out, I switched to a highball. I also ordered a macaroni salad with curry flavor. This is also a good snack to go with a highball. I added another highball and enjoyed my drink slowly.

Time-traveling Old Man On January 10th, 2020, the old man returned to this shop once again... It has been a whole year since he last visited on January 10th, 2019, but since there was no January 10th in the first year of Reiwa, it feels like he has slipped through time. The dimly lit alley leading to the shop remains unchanged. With a grunt, he opens the door and enters the shop, where he is guided to a counter seat near the entrance and handed a drink menu. However, the old man already knows what he wants to order. He requests a Heartland beer in a medium bottle. As he waits quietly, the beer is soon poured into a glass and handed to him. He glances at the menu hanging on the wall, which includes items like sashimi, beef and shishito pepper stew, and cabbage and egg salad. He orders all of them and continues to sip his beer. Last year, there was a tough-looking male owner, but this year, the staff consists only of women, maintaining the quiet and calm atmosphere of the shop. The old man enjoys the delicious dishes that arrive in front of him. He contemplates trying all the menu items, but as a traveler who cannot stay in one place for long, he knows he must move on to find the next tavern. Happy New Year, everyone! I hope to continue working hard as a superstar reviewer on Tabelog this year. This review was actually completed last year, but I had not found the right time to share it until now. The Ebisu Festival, which I look forward to every year, is coming up soon. I had already taken time off and was excited to attend, but unfortunately, with the number of COVID-19 cases in Osaka not decreasing, I will not be able to go even if the event takes place.
