I had been interested since before 2020/12, but because I often buy sweets elsewhere, I didn't have the chance to visit until now haha. The place is right near the south exit rotary of Koiwa Station. The sign is a bit faded, so I didn't realize it was a cake shop even though I passed by many times, but once I noticed it was a cake shop, it started to look like one haha. Inside, there aren't many types of cakes, but there are various cakes like those you'd find at a local cake shop. It has a retro feel, with cakes cut and wrapped in silver paper, which is rare these days. Personally, I don't mind it. The customer service for packing the cakes is fine. The boxes are efficient, suitable for cake sizes without the need for extra dividers or fixings. However, the silver paper easily sticks to the cakes because of the material, making the cakes fragile and prone to breaking. The Tart Orange (430 yen tax included) has a tart base soaked in syrup, topped with orange-flavored mousse and plenty of orange pulp. The tart base doesn't assert butter or wheat flavors, completely dominated by the orange syrup. It's innovative and good. It feels like having a savarin without the alcohol, and I like it. The mousse has a hint of creaminess along with the orange flavor, thoroughly infused with orange. The top fruit pulp is full of orange with a slightly bitter taste, making it rich and delicious. It has retro elements and stands out from the typical orange cake, firmly embracing the orange flavor, which I, a fruit lover, thoroughly enjoyed. The price is incredibly reasonable and wonderful. The Fraze (M size, 460 yen tax included) has a fluffy, slightly airy genoise and a slightly liquid chantilly layer. The genoise has a coarse texture but is light and fluffy. The chantilly has a traditional cake shop-like rich taste, which I personally like for its retro feel. In the middle layer, there are roughly cut large strawberries, giving a real strawberry-eating experience. The strawberries are not fully ripe yet but have a decent flavor. The chunky strawberry texture is a unique feature. At this price, it is quite reasonable. It's a retro cake, but surprisingly, the taste and character are clear, giving a sense of the shop's philosophy. Although modern cutting-edge cakes are great, being able to enjoy these old-fashioned cakes is a blessing in my opinion.

There is another popular cake shop near Koiwa Station. The shop has a worn-out, faded sign, but the interior is normal with decent cakes on display. The cakes look slightly over-the-top, but the taste is very standard with no special features. However, there are no bad-tasting cakes, just a mix of different flavors due to the variety. I bought an apple pie and a cheesecake, both of which were surprisingly delicious despite their simple appearance.

I found a shop while passing by the station where local people frequently visit. I chose and tried some cakes among the many in the shop. "Sachertorte ¥480" had layers of chocolate with a hint of orange, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. "Mont Blanc ¥490" had multiple layers resembling the Mont Blanc I had before, delicious but not my favorite due to the chestnut flavor. "Apple Cinnamon Tart ¥460" had a balanced cinnamon flavor enhancing the rich taste of the apple filling. The tart had a thick yet soft texture, allowing you to fully enjoy the apple. "Strawberry M size ¥510" was amazing. The shortcake had a gentle sweetness of fresh cream, smoothness, and a soft sponge that melted simultaneously. It was so soft that it couldn't hold its shape when cut with a fork. This was also delicious. Even when I finished buying, local people were still coming in. It's truly a popular shop.

Sometimes, I decided to buy a cake for the house, so I got off at Koiwa Station and went straight to Pascal near the south exit. There used to be one at the north exit as well, but old stores are gradually disappearing, which is sad. Despite it being Friday night, there were quite a few cakes available, and I was a bit overwhelmed with choices, so I ended up buying a strawberry roll cake. Unlike chocolate cakes, a cake with strawberries and cream is something everyone can enjoy, so I think my choice was quite good. The price was also reasonable at 1300 yen including tax. When I got home and sliced it for dessert, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the strawberries were. The roll cake itself had a decent taste, nothing too special or unusual, making it easy to eat. It's nice that the cake tasted just like how I imagined it in my head. There are cake shops at Chiba Station as well, but the taste tends to be slightly different, so I would like to continue using this one depending on my mood.

Pascal is a cake shop located just a short walk from the south entrance of Koiwa Station. Although the Koiwa South Exit shop does not have a cafe, you can still enjoy light meals in addition to sweets. They offer a variety of desserts such as cream puffs, strawberry shortcake, fruit tart, and a new item called "Wakaba" which features layers of strawberry mousse, cream, and pistachio on a beautiful display. The desserts were delicious, especially the strawberry shortcake with its rich cream and tangy strawberries. The fruit tart was colorful and had a soft, easy-to-eat crust. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

Pascal, a cake shop with strong support in Koiwa, used to have a Western restaurant at the north exit where their cutlets were delicious. I would always order a cake for dessert after a meal, especially on special occasions. The restaurant is no longer there and has been replaced by a shop selling cakes and pastries at the south exit. Feeling nostalgic, I entered and debated whether to order the Fraisier Chocolat, which I always used to order. Instead, I bought the Halloween limited edition Pumpkin Pudding. It was rich and had a gentle sweetness from the pumpkin, but I slightly regretted not getting the Fraisier Chocolat. Next time, I will definitely buy the Fraisier Chocolat! ♩

I visited the shop around 6 pm on a weekday. I had a Black & White cake for 410 yen and a Delice Chocolat cake for 400 yen. The shop is conveniently located near the station, making it easy to stop by. There were many types of cakes to choose from, but I decided on these two because the chocolate cakes looked delicious. I had the Delice Chocolat, which had a rich chocolate flavor and was very tasty. It had a dense sweetness that children would enjoy.

It had a certain weight when held in the palm, and the cream puff also seems to have changed from a chewy texture to a rough one. The business hours have been shortened by an hour, and the north entrance has been gone for a few years, making the connection a little weaker. I used to enjoy the morning with fresh fruits, boiled eggs, crispy breadsticks, and milk-filled coffee at the north entrance store, but if they offer the same at the main store, I would like to go there despite the distance for the nostalgia. Over 10 years ago, when the "smooth pudding" was lined up at the store, I, a newcomer, mistakenly thought it was the famous pudding from that famous store and bought it for a while.

I have used this place several times, but this time I received a gift from a friend. This cake shop, which has been popular in the local area for a long time, is known for its pudding. The cakes are also delicious in general. The store on Shibamata Kaido offers a cafe and light meals, and you can also see the cake workshop. The banana cake I used to buy often was really good. Nowadays, with various patissiers opening their shops, it's hard to find something special. There are many standard cakes, so it's safe to say it's safe. It's tough in the dessert industry, with fierce competition every day! It's not something you eat every day, but keep up the good work!

The variety of cakes is the same at both the north and south exits, but at the south exit shop, you can also enjoy soft serve ice cream in the summer. Pascal's cakes are truly simple, both in taste and appearance, with a naturalness that is not dressed up. They use a lot of Western liquor, try unusual combinations, and the designs are not elaborate. If trendy beautiful women were models for delicious cake shops in Tokyo, Pascal's cakes would be like natural beauty without makeup. All of them are delicious and have a taste that is sure to be loved by everyone. No matter how refined and delicious cakes you eat, you will always want to eat the cakes here.
