I visited the restaurant for lunch. It is easy to find as it is located in the office district with a traditional building. I was guided to a tatami room instead of a table seat. I ordered the meat sukiyaki with 150g of meat, which cost 2300 yen. The meat was Japanese beef. It seems that they use miso as a secret ingredient in their sukiyaki here. In the evening, they serve Matsusaka beef and Kobe beef sukiyaki. My impression after eating was that it was incredibly delicious. The meat was tender and had a unique seasoning that was delicious. I think 2300 yen is cheap for this quality. The portion size was also quite substantial. The fu soaked in dashi was delicious too. I plan to go back again.

It was the first time drinking in Osaka with my high school friends. We decided to splurge a bit and visited this place. We enjoyed some delicious sashimi first, then moved on to our second or third round of drinks. The main dish, Kansai-style sukiyaki, was a rare treat and we were satisfied. I filled up on the meat and skipped the rice. My friend even ordered more meat, and despite being the same age, they out-ate me completely! 😄

I am currently serving as the acting vice branch manager of a certain organization's Osaka branch at Kawachiya. I have been entrusted with this role since this spring. I can't help but feel my age catching up with me. Even professional baseball managers may be younger than me. There were two members in the branch who had something to celebrate, so we decided to hold a celebratory feast. When the branch manager is in charge of choosing a restaurant, the sky's the limit. Therefore, I was asked in advance to subtly steer the conversation towards me making the decision. The branch manager even joked, "If you're the one making the decision, it'll be fun." He then asked me where I was considering. So, I listed three restaurants, including this one. He should be familiar with two of them. But I wonder about this one. If that doesn't work out, I was also considering a restaurant near Kitahama, which is quite expensive at the main branch but more manageable at the branch. As expected, he was intrigued by this particular restaurant. Alright, but it's been about 15 years since I last visited Kawachiya. Back then, I thought, "I can rely on this place if anything happens," but that's a memory from 15 years ago. To confirm, I took my wife on a lunch date to scout the place. We strolled from Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line Kitahama Station. On this slightly cool day, my wife walked without complaining. We found the restaurant. It had a seasoned, traditional exterior. We visited during lunchtime without a reservation, and luckily there were available seats. I had my eye on this bento box from the start. Shingen Bento @3,080 yen (tax included). It was a neatly arranged bento box. I opened the lid of the soup. At that moment, I decided on this restaurant. The aroma was amazing. I slurped a bit of miso soup. Mmm, delicious! The miso soup had a rich flavor. Delicious. Tofu dish. It's a traditional dish from Osaka. The flavor is a bit strong, but that's what makes it delicious. Three types of sashimi. Definitely okay. The portion for lunch is sufficient. This restaurant is famous for its sukiyaki. They also offer a special lunch set. In addition to the bento box, the "Hantsuki Bento" @1,980 yen (tax included) is also popular. For a little luxury lunch, you can enjoy sukiyaki, teppanyaki, sashimi, and other set meals. There are also eel rice bowl sets available in one or half portions, surprisingly at a reasonable price. After the meal, I made a reservation for about 20 people with the staff. We will be using the second-floor hall. I'm looking forward to it.

Visit date: 12:30 on a weekday Wait time: None Menu: Sukiyaki set meal (200g of meat) for 3,850 yen I visited this restaurant for lunch, as I had been curious about it for a while. I ordered the Sukiyaki set meal. I opted for 200g of meat as I wanted to have a generous portion. The meat used in the Sukiyaki set meal is Japanese black wagyu beef, which is cooked in a sweet sauce and is delicious. There were two eggs provided, so I enjoyed dipping the meat in them. The meal also included vegetables and tofu, making it more filling than I expected. You can also get a refill of rice, so next time I visit, I think 150g of meat would be just right. Thank you for the meal.

I had to work for 4 days, including today. Tomorrow, I will head directly to Oita City and back, so I will only be at the office for 3 days. The department manager asked me to have lunch together, which I had pre-booked. I feel bad about it. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the office. The deputy manager from the next group also took off his shoes and we went to a private room. The sukiyaki set meal was delicious, with plenty of meat and packed with vegetables. However, I couldn't eat it quickly due to a burn in my mouth. I managed to finish it all in the end. I am grateful for the treat. I need to think about what snacks to bring on my last day of work. The food was delicious.

I went for lunch and ordered the half-moon bento. It was a beautifully presented adult-style bento that made me excited for lunch. It had luxurious side dishes like simmered dishes and sashimi. Unfortunately, the bento tray was warped and kept wobbling during the meal, so I had to put one side of the tray on the edge of the table while eating.

The eel bowl lunch is a must-try! The fresh eel and elegant sansho pepper were amazing. And most of all, the portion was just right. It remained delicious until the end, and I was very satisfied. There are private rooms, so you can relax. It might be a good reward for a tiring day, or for the day after something unpleasant happened! ^_^

The taste was good. Overall, it had a flavor similar to a traditional Japanese bento box, but it passed. However, the problem is the price. 1980 yen. This seems way too expensive, a more reasonable price would be around 1200 yen. At most, it could be 1400 yen. By the way, the yellow round thing is onion.

Sakaisuji Honmachi◇ Sukiyaki◇ [2-chome Kawaramachi, Chuo-ku] Located at the second street on the right corner of Sakaisuji Kawaramachi 1 intersection heading west, you will find the long-established restaurant "Edogiku" founded in 1914. I decided to have lunch here. It was 11:10 am on a weekday and there were no other customers. I was seated at a table on the first floor. Here is the lunch menu: ◆ Hangetsu Bento (1800 yen, excluding tax) ◆ Sashimi Teishoku (1500 yen) ◆ Inaniwa Udon Teishoku (1500 yen) ◆ Shingen Bento (2800 yen) ◆ Sashimi Zan (4000 yen) ◆ Unaju Teishoku (3500 yen) ◆ Sukiyaki Teishoku (2000 yen〜) ◆ Sukiyaki Zan (4000 yen〜) Should I go for eel or sukiyaki? What do you recommend? ◆ Sukiyaki Teishoku 150g (3000 yen) Served in 10 minutes "Let's eat." I cracked an egg and took a bite of the meat. It was quite sweet and flavorful even with just 150g. The dish was filled with tofu, green onions, enoki mushrooms, chrysanthemum greens, wheat gluten, and Chinese cabbage. I was satisfied with the generous portion. "Thank you for the meal."

Memo. Visit date unknown. Had lunch, which was sukiyaki. The restaurant exudes a sense of history and dignity from the exterior. Expecting the unchanged deliciousness of tradition and dedication passed down through generations. The quality of the sukiyaki meat was excellent! The special broth served to complement its flavor was outstanding. Rich and flavorful. A truly authentic sukiyaki that enhances the umami of the meat even more. A restaurant backed by tradition and authenticity! Delicious ⭐︎ Tasty ⭐︎ It takes time to prepare after ordering, so it might be tough for a quick lunch break. But it's a place that makes you want to visit for dinner! (^^)

I had a delicious sukiyaki meal at Edo Kiku, which was established in the 3rd year of Taisho era! Sukiyaki is not something you can easily find to eat out (maybe I just didn't know where to go, haha), so I was very happy. They even have private rooms, making it perfect for important occasions or business meetings. Highly recommended! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Osaka Sakaisuji Honmachi. Today's destination on a quiet street in Kawaramachi is "Edogiku". This long-established restaurant with a black wall exudes a nostalgic atmosphere, founded in the Taisho era. Today, I visited for a farewell party with my company. Upon entering the entrance and climbing the staircase lined with crimson carpet, we arrived at the private room called "Setsugekka". The tatami room has a calm atmosphere with a table set up in the center. Once everyone was gathered, the banquet began. We enjoyed the appetizers and sashimi, and then it was time for the main dish, sukiyaki. The beef served on a large plate is A5 grade Matsusaka beef. It is marbled with fine fat, creating a tender and flavorful roast meat. The cooking is all left to the waitress. The special miso sauce for sukiyaki, served in a large pot, is a specialty of the restaurant. The meat dipped in beaten egg is provided, combining the rich miso flavor with the umami of the raw egg. The moment when the flavor of the meat and fat come together is truly a blissful experience. While enjoying sake, we also had a bowl of white rice. Confirming that sukiyaki with rice is indeed the best. After savoring two large pieces of roast meat, we enjoyed the simmered vegetables, frozen tofu, grilled tofu, white konjac, shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, and udon with rice. After dessert, the dinner party came to an end. This farewell party marked the departure of half of the members. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious memories. Thank you for the meal.

Luxurious sukiyaki lunch ( ´∀`) I visited a long-established sukiyaki restaurant that I had been interested in, Sakai-suji Hommachi - Edogiku, for the first time today. I splurged on the sukiyaki lunch at the restaurant and ordered the Matsusaka beef A5 rank marbled meat. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations this time... Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at the restaurant after 6 pm and was seated on the second floor in a room called "Tsukinoma." I chose the sukiyaki course without hesitation from the three course options available, and started the enjoyable meal with a glass of draft beer. The meal started with a dish of vinegared dish with sweetfish, followed by sashimi. The sashimi was delicious! After a refill of draft beer, I switched to bottled beer. Then, the highlight of the meal arrived - the meat! We were served 8 slices of meat each (150g per slice) on a beautiful pink plate. The meat was Matsusaka beef, and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. It was my first time having sukiyaki since I made it at home during New Year's. The meat was so tender and melted in my mouth with its sweet and rich flavor. The marbled fat on the meat was also sweet and delicious. And all this for a price of 12,400 yen per person for Matsusaka beef! After enjoying another slice of meat, we were served vegetables, including udon noodles. Normally, this would be the end of the meal with dessert, but we couldn't resist and ordered more meat - 2 slices per person. In total, we enjoyed 500g of Matsusaka beef per person! The staff at the restaurant, dressed in traditional attire, took great care of us, serving the meat, appetizers, sashimi, and drinks. We skipped the rice as we ordered extra meat, and ended the meal with some fruits for dessert. It was a truly satisfying and delightful dining experience. Thank you very much. It was a feast!

Located north of Sakaisuji Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line, just outside exit 17, this restaurant is a longstanding sukiyaki establishment founded in the third year of the Taisho era. Despite being situated in the heart of the business district of Gofukumachi, the restaurant boasts a solid two-story traditional Japanese building. The interior matches the impressive exterior, with table seating on the first floor and tatami rooms on the first and second floors. While there are various options for lunch, the recommended choice is the "Sukiyaki Teishoku." The price varies by gram, but even with just 100 grams, you can experience the satisfaction of indulging in quality meat. Despite its elegant atmosphere suitable for official occasions, this restaurant offers the taste of a longstanding establishment at a reasonable price.

I ordered the domestic black wagyu sukiyaki set with 150g. I was surprised when it was brought to me in a quiet manner instead of bubbling in a pot, but it turned out to be piping hot when I tried it. It's true that if you cook it too much, it can become tough. The meat had no unpleasant smell and was safe to eat. The vegetables and wheat gluten were well-flavored, although I usually prefer a sweeter taste at home, I realized that a less sweet flavor keeps it from getting boring. Even with just 150g, I was already full! I ended up leaving some rice. Sorry about that! I'd like to try the Hangetsu Bento next time. I stopped by Kannou-san on my way home.

【Overall】Located right in the middle between Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station (Osaka) and Kitahama, this is a long-established sukiyaki restaurant founded in 1914. Their specialty is the luxurious sukiyaki made with Matsusaka beef, but they also offer more affordable sukiyaki options for lunch. While it may not be Matsusaka beef, you can still enjoy the reliable taste of this restaurant (^_^) The dignified atmosphere unique to long-established restaurants can be experienced here, and indulging in this kind of small luxury from time to time is quite nice. ----------------------------------------- In the competitive dining area of the Dojima district where old and new restaurants coexist, Edo Kiku is a long-established sukiyaki restaurant with over 100 years of history, with a cultural heritage-like appearance of tiled roof and plaster walls. The interior is calm and has many table seats, with counter seats at the back with a fish tank. The atmosphere is nice with women in kimono managing the hall like a typical long-established restaurant (^_^) Their specialty is the Matsusaka beef sukiyaki, suitable for banquets and business entertainment, but they also offer various lunch options. Apart from sukiyaki, they also serve Makunouchi bento, sashimi set meal, and Inaniwa udon set meal, all of which are popular. Of course, they also serve sukiyaki, with prices ranging from 2000 yen to 6000 yen depending on the beef rank and gram amount (^_^;) Having Matsusaka beef sukiyaki for dinner can be quite expensive, so I tried the regular sukiyaki for lunch. ・Sukiyaki set meal with 150g of meat - 2484 yen They use domestic black wagyu beef, although the beef rank is not indicated. Still, considering the price, they probably use good quality meat. The other ingredients besides beef are tofu, Chinese cabbage, leeks, etc., typical of sukiyaki. The sweet soy sauce is not overly sweet like the Kanto style. The beef is slightly firm but the taste and aroma are good. It's not melt-in-your-mouth, but it's definitely delicious beef (^_^) Sukiyaki is definitely better with rice than with alcohol. Mixing it with plenty of raw egg makes it the ultimate rice companion. This goes really well with rice... The meat is satisfying and there are plenty of vegetables, so even with 150g of beef, it felt quite substantial. ----------------------------------------- 【In conclusion】Enjoying sukiyaki in a calm and sophisticated atmosphere typical of a long-established restaurant was a satisfying small luxury for lunch (^_^) While I was quite satisfied with this lunch, I think the true value of this restaurant lies in the Matsusaka beef sukiyaki. Since this evaluation is based on the lunch sukiyaki, those who think "I am the one!" should definitely try the dinner menu (^_^;) Thank you for the meal.

I received a birthday present from my daughter at a high-class, long-established restaurant. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly. On our way out, we even received a gift of Dassai Sparkling. Everything from the appetizers to the sukiyaki was delicious. I would love to go back again if I have the chance.

Wow, delicious. It's my first time at a sukiyaki restaurant where the waitress cooks it for you. The flavor, sweetness, and aroma of the meat are indescribable! Sukiyaki is the best! The appetizer sashimi was also delicious! I feel so happy! The happiness of having it cooked for you is something you can only experience when dining out!

I had the Sukiyaki set meal for ¥1800. It was served already cooked. The meal included slices of meat, two pieces of grilled tofu, and two pieces of wheat gluten, which provided a decent amount of food. The flavor was rich and delicious, with a strong taste due to the combination of soy sauce, sugar, and miso. The meat was a bit tough, as if it had been simmered for too long. When compared to the Sukiyaki at Kadoya in Kitashinchi, this restaurant falls short in terms of cost-effectiveness and sophistication. However, it may be more appropriate to compare it with Hariju or Kitamura for dinner rather than lunch.
