I had the pork cutlet rice bowl. It seems to be a popular menu item at the restaurant. The price is on the cheaper side, so it's easy to feel the value for money. ・The pork cutlet in the rice bowl was delicious. It was hot and juicy, with no toughness. The egg was cooked just right, giving a nice creamy texture. You can't get this texture in convenience store or supermarket pork cutlet bowls. I don't eat fried food often, so I'm not an expert, but I thought it was delicious. Considering the affordable price of 800 yen, it seems to maintain the reputation of a local specialty shop (sorry for being condescending). ・The miso soup had fried tofu in it. More fried food? Whether by chance or design, I'll try it next time. The flavor was a bit lacking in impact. ・In addition to miso soup, I also got cold tofu and pickles. It's nice to have both cold tofu and pickles. The cold tofu had condiments on top. While the pork cutlet bowl was on the cheaper side, the shrimp fry was 1,400 yen, and other higher-end fried foods were priced quite boldly. The sauce looked delicious in the pot, but according to other reviewers, it didn't meet expectations. I'm curious to find out the truth with my own taste buds. There were some regular customers there, and they seemed quite flexible. They might even allow you to request Worcestershire sauce instead of their homemade sauce. I didn't have high expectations based on the appearance, so I was pleasantly surprised and quite satisfied. On the other hand, if your expectations are too high, you might be disappointed. I think the best approach to Wako-san is to "eat a normal pork cutlet bowl normally." It will truly shine in everyday moments like shopping or on the way to the public bath. ◼︎Service ・There was no wet towel service, but there were tissue boxes on the tables. ・The tea was not very tasty. ・The shichimi pepper on the table was in a Zenkoji Temple can. Maybe they have a preference for condiments and sauce? ・The landlady was very friendly and communicative with the customers, and even chatted with me, a first-time customer. ・The regular-looking customers were receiving dishes not on the menu. Being flexible gives them an advantage over chain restaurants. ◼︎Interior I didn't have high expectations from the exterior, but the interior had a certain charm. You can see traces of the craftsmanship of the mid-Showa era. The wall with a small window cut out that connects the counter space and the tatami room is elegant. However, there are some signs of aging, but overall, it had a certain "flavor." According to other reviewers, it was said to be smoky, but I didn't smell any cigarette smoke at the time I went in, which was before 6 p.m. There were only two customers, me and a regular. After the meal, I could faintly smell the oil from the pork cutlet on my face and head. Come to think of it, today is Christmas Eve. There were only a few people working overtime at the office. Unlike me, eating pork alone, everyone else is probably having chicken or something. The regular customer also said he was going to have a Christmas party in Kamata at 6:30 p.m. and left. Even though no one was there, I could hear the TV from the tatami room. It's the Shimomaruko shopping street. ◼︎Other It seems that takeout is more than 20% cheaper. Fried food is tough on my weak stomach, making it hard to move after eating.
