THE FRONT ROOM
Whipped Butter and Maple Syrup French Toast ¥1320
Sometimes you just crave French toast, right?
I heard about THE FRONT ROOM, which opened in September, and decided to try their drinkable French toast.
Served in a skillet, the French toast was hot and delicious.
The brioche dough was soaked in the egg mixture, about 7 cm thick, with a crispy and fragrant outer layer and a soft and fluffy inside.
When you pour maple syrup over it, it oozes out and mixes with the slightly salty whipped butter, creating a meltingly delicious combination.
The center of the dough has a pudding-like, soft and bouncy texture, making it sweeter than your usual French toast.
This French toast was incredibly delicious.
Located a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Station Marunouchi South Exit, it is directly connected to the station.

I visited a restaurant that opens a little earlier for brunch on weekends. The location is on the 1st floor of Maru Building, right next to the event space. It is directly connected to the station via an underground passage, so it's convenient. When I arrived around 10:30, there was already a line in front of the restaurant with about 20 people. The morning service ends at 10:30, and after that, they start serving lunch from 11:00. I was finally able to get a table at 11:15. The restaurant has a spacious layout, with a cozy atmosphere in the back and plenty of natural light coming in from the skylight in the front. The seating is on a 90-minute limit and they only accept cashless payments. The menu offers a variety of options for both breakfast and lunch. I ordered a croque-monsieur and for dessert, a French toast with seasonal shine muscat. The French toast was served on a hot skillet with a generous amount of whipped cream and muscat grapes on top. The brioche toast was thick yet light and fluffy, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It was not too sweet, complementing the muscat grapes perfectly. The croque-monsieur was topped with a creamy béchamel sauce and filled with thick slices of ham. The crispy outer layer of the bread contrasted nicely with the soft interior. The accompanying potato fries were thin and crispy. Overall, the food was delicious and I would love to visit again to try more items on the menu.

Arrived at 9:50 a.m. on the Sunday of a three-day weekend. There were 25 people waiting in line. Many people had suitcases with them. Entered the restaurant at 10:30 a.m. Ordered the French toast, which is said to be delicious. It was as tall as half a loaf of bread, fluffy, and piping hot. It was loaded with butter with a hint of salt. I devoured it in no time.

I had a lunch of salad and French toast. I chose the salad lunch and the salad was delicious♡ I also enjoyed the bread and Tom Yum Goong soup that came with it. Although I heard the French toast was delicious, I found it to be just average. The lovely sofa seating made my time there enjoyable.

THE FRONT ROOM, located on the 1st floor of Marunouchi Building in Tokyo Station, is a popular restaurant known for its drinkable French toast. There is usually a long line, but on this day, there was no wait. We were quickly seated at the counter by a staff member. We visited for lunch at 11:30 on a weekday. I ordered the seasonal Shine Muscat French toast for 1980 yen and a Frozen Shine Muscat Slushie for 990 yen, totaling 2970 yen. Payment was by card only. After a 15-minute wait, a hot and fluffy French toast with Shine Muscat was served. The toast was over 5 cm thick, easy to cut with a knife, and melted in the mouth. The abundance of Shine Muscat was sweet and juicy. The Frozen Shine Muscat Slushie, with plenty of Shine Muscat and a hint of mint, was a refreshing drink. It was a delicious Shine Muscat experience. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered Basque cheese and coffee, which was just the right amount of sweetness and had a light taste. It was perfect for a post-meal dessert! The coffee seemed to be freshly brewed in the shop. I had a lot of luggage, but thanks to being guided to a sofa seat, I was able to relax and enjoy my time. The interior of the shop had a stylish atmosphere, and I was able to relax so much that I forgot I was in Marunouchi. The service from the staff was also good.

I was intrigued by the drinkable French toast I saw on TV, so I decided to give it a try. However, lunchtime reservations were fully booked for the next three weeks, so I made a reservation for the earliest available time at 3 pm. I arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes early and there were about 5 groups ahead of me in line. Although I made a reservation for 2 people, we were seated at a sofa table in the back of the restaurant that could accommodate 6 people. I was surprised by the luxurious use of space, but it was a bit too fancy and I couldn't quite relax. Since I hadn't eaten lunch, I ordered a BLT sandwich, this week's pasta (clam and mushroom butter soy sauce), French toast, cafe latte, and cappuccino. It seems like during lunchtime, the drinks are included in a set which is a good deal. First, the sandwich - the freshly baked bread was fragrant, the lettuce was crisp, and the bacon was flavorful. The bacon in this type of sandwich is usually too salty, but this one was not at all. Just be careful because it can get quite messy. The pickled cabbage side dish was also delicious. Next was the pasta - the clams were plump and tender, and they paired perfectly with the shiso. The pasta was probably tagliolini, thin flat noodles. It was incredibly chewy! The butter soy sauce had a strong flavor but wasn't overpowering! And finally, the much-awaited French toast. It was fluffy and soft just as advertised, but it was extremely hot so I wouldn't recommend drinking it right away. The maple syrup was served in a separate cup, but the whipped butter and French toast itself were already flavorful enough even without it. Despite using plenty of butter, it wasn't heavy at all and I finished it in no time. The prices are a bit high, but all the dishes and desserts were delicious, and you can truly enjoy the luxurious atmosphere. I don't often have reasons to be in the Marunouchi area, but I would definitely want to come back to this cafe. Thank you for the meal!

The burrata caprese, serrano ham and mandarin orange salad (small size), beef steak (forgot the name), and whipped butter and maple syrup French toast were all delicious. The burrata was more like mozzarella, but the tomatoes were tasty. The salad had a good balance, including the cheese, and was delicious. The meat had a strong mushroom flavor, so those who don't like mushrooms might want to avoid it. The French toast had more beef than eggs, was light and fluffy, and was easy to eat quickly. The whipped butter was very tasty, and I think the simple classic version is the best. The prosciutto and ricotta options are also appealing, but the small round table for two was a bit narrow and inconvenient (laughs).

I was looking for a cafe near Shin-Marunouchi Building and came across this place. We lined up around 2 PM and there were about ten groups ahead of us, but we were able to get in after waiting for less than 30 minutes. The shop is spacious with plenty of seats, so I think they open early. We ordered pudding and French toast. The desserts were surprisingly large for the price, so I thought it was a great value. The taste was also amazing, especially the pudding which had the perfect balance of firmness and smoothness, ranking high among those I've had before. However, they are quite filling so I recommend going there on an empty stomach. LOL

I arrived at the shop around 2:15 in the afternoon on a regular day. There was a decently long line formed, and since there were no chairs, I had to stand and wait for 35 minutes before being seated. I ordered the French toast with whipped butter and maple syrup, along with an iced café latte. While waiting, I noticed a sign at the entrance of the shop that read "drinkable French toast," which piqued my curiosity, so I decided to try it out. The French toast arrived promptly, and it was quite thick. The outside had a beautiful golden brown color, and when I cut into it, I could see that the egg mixture had soaked through to the middle. Upon tasting it, the outside was crispy and the inside was fluffy and moist. The brioche bread used gave it a rich flavor. Although I couldn't drink it, the texture was smooth and delightful. The generous serving of whipped butter had a rich taste of dairy fat, but because it was whipped, it had a light and smooth texture. Unfortunately, the maple syrup provided was quite limited. The iced café latte had a strong acidity, which personally was not to my liking. The staff's service was good, and they approached me at just the right times. Since the French toast seems to be their specialty, I recommend trying it if you're a fan. Just be aware that they do not accept cash payments.
