There is a curry shop called MASARA in Umeda near Hankyu Umeda Station, where a new Umeda food alley with various eateries is located. It's similar to the vibe of the dining area in the New Shinbashi Building in Tokyo. In this area, MASARA offers stand curry. Although there is also a stand curry place called Spicy Masala in Kyoto Station, they are not related. When I visited around 3:15 pm, there were no customers in the shop. Inside, there are fixed chairs and the menu includes popular items like Katsu Curry, recommended Masala Beef Curry, value Ebi Fry Curry, and must-try Choido Curry. I chose the popular Katsu Curry for 900 yen. It took a bit of time as they fry the cutlet freshly. The curry turned out to be more of a Western style rather than a spiced curry, but it complemented the cutlet well. The curry was flavorful enough that no extra sauce was needed. The cutlet had just the right amount of curry on top, allowing its original flavor to shine through. The pickled radish was placed on top of the curry, giving it a unique touch. Overall, I enjoyed a delicious Katsu Curry in the afternoon at this stand curry shop in the food alley, and I believe they will continue to thrive in the area.

On Saturdays, there are a lot of tourists and the area is always crowded. I chose a seat at the counter, thinking it would be quicker. The owner was running the place alone. Fried dishes take some time, so I waited for about 10 minutes. The freshly fried tonkatsu was absolutely delicious, and the rice was a large serving for free, which was quite satisfying. The flavor had a deep richness to it. I was satisfied with both the cost performance and the taste.

When you feel like having pork cutlet curry for lunch in Umeda, Masara is the place to go. Their moderately spicy and simple curry is truly delicious. I keep coming back for more without getting tired of it. Until 2 pm, you can get a free extra portion of rice. I also appreciate that they serve both pickled radish and mixed pickles on top.

There is a curry stand quietly located next to the very popular takoyaki shop across the road from Osaka Station. The shop opens at 12 o'clock, but it's okay to be a little late. As soon as they open, you should go in. The katsu curry is fried after you order, so it takes a little time, but it's enjoyable. The crispy katsu and simple curry sauce were delicious and I enjoyed it slowly.

After finishing fishing for gobies in Mukogawa, I was hungry! For lunch, I went to a long-established curry stand in the "Shin Umeda Dining Street". It's a small shop with 10 counter seats. I visited around 1 o'clock, with only one customer before me. There was a female owner managing the place alone. I ordered the "Tonkatsu Curry". She asked if it was okay for the tonkatsu to take some time to fry, and I said it was fine. It came out in less than 10 minutes. The tonkatsu was quite thick. I took a bite and thought, "Hmm! Delicious!" It's a typical Western-style curry, with a gentle sweetness, rich umami, and a moderate spiciness. It's one of the best Western-style curries I've ever had! I used to think that a thin tonkatsu would go well with curry, but the thick tonkatsu here is delicious on its own! It's tender and juicy! I wanted more, but I finished it and I was extremely satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal.

First visit! I had the Sausage Curry for ¥850. I chose pickles as a side dish! The sausage was well sautéed and piping hot, so be careful! The curry was slightly spicy and went perfectly with the rice! I always have trouble deciding in the new Umeda dining area, so I'm glad I found a good restaurant! I also received a point card, so I will visit again ☆☆

Friday curry is super mild European style! Curry shop MASARA (Umeda) Masala curry, large serving (rice & roux) + double pork cutlet. The shop name is Indian-like but the spiciness is mild and sweet. Plus eggplant and egg, extra Fukujin pickles, no spicy leeks.

I visited after a long time. I ordered pork cutlet curry. When asked if I wanted fukujinzuke and rakkyo, I chose fukujinzuke. When the curry arrived, they said, "You wanted a large serving, right?" Was there a promotion for a large serving when I last visited? I was confused. But the spiciness of the curry stood out and it was delicious. When I showed my loyalty card at the checkout, I got a discount for my fourth visit and a new loyalty card. I will definitely come back again.

Located in a corner of Umeda's new food street, this restaurant was recommended to me for their time-limited menu. I wanted to try the pork cutlet curry, but ended up ordering the sausage curry instead. It was a classic Western-style curry with a mild flavor and a hint of spiciness. The open layout of the restaurant means it can get quite hot in the summer, especially with curry and a table fan. Next time, I would like to try the curry with fried toppings when I have more time. It was very delicious!

The interior of the restaurant is only a counter. I ordered the pork cutlet curry. It takes about 10 minutes to fry. I asked for fukujinzuke and pickled radish on the side. During lunchtime, you can get a free extra-large portion of rice. The pork cutlet in the curry was too big to cut with a spoon, so I had to take a bite. The curry was not very spicy and tasted delicious, with a European-style flavor.

It takes time because they fry the cutlet fresh. Imagine a hot and crispy cutlet, and that's exactly what you get. The crunchy coating makes a sound when you bite into it, but the meat inside is tender. The curry, rice, and cutlet combo is perfect. I ordered the most popular cutlet curry. Despite the name Masala, I expected a spicy curry, but it was a delicious, familiar curry. The curry has a complex and deep flavor from the spices. I was impressed by how they generously poured the curry over the cutlet. It felt like eating sushi, savoring each piece. I also grew fond of the side dishes like fukujinzuke and rakkyo. They offer free extra rice until 2 PM. Curry Shop MASARA.

I love the curry here! A kind lady runs the place by herself. This time, I ordered the pork cutlet curry! I finished it in just over 5 minutes. The spiciness and aroma of the spices were just right, and the atmosphere of the counter-only shop was also nice. I always rely on this place during lunchtime. ❤️

Minced cutlet (with cheese) for 900 yen. It's not very spicy. If you don't like spicy food, you might feel it's a bit spicy. If you order curry, draft beer is only 400 yen. They also offer curry roux for takeout, 2 servings for 900 yen. The lady running the place alone was friendly and had a nice interaction with customers, creating a cozy atmosphere in the restaurant.

This is a curry rice restaurant located along the south side passageway of Shin-Umeda Food Street. It's the perfect place to end your Umeda bar hopping night. When you're rushing to finish a large bowl of udon and your stomach is about to protest, this is the spot to take care of your liver with some curry. The cozy restaurant has a long counter along the passageway, with a friendly mama-san running the show. I chose the Menchi Katsu Curry from the lineup of curry dishes. The mama-san prepares each order with care, and the freshly fried Menchi Katsu was served piping hot, making me crave a beer. Despite the usual pattern of never-ending food adventures, I managed to resist and finish my meal. My stomach was definitely full by the end. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Recently, when it comes to curry, CoCo Ichibanya is the go-to place. But when I find a stand curry that I can eat quickly when I'm hungry, I can't help but go in. Masala curry! The plain one is 700 yen and with beef it's 750 yen. For a 50 yen difference, I always go for the beef! Inside the shop, there are signed posters, maybe from the Japan national rugby team? I wonder if this place is unexpectedly popular... Anyway, let's dig into the beef masala curry! It's not too spicy, slightly sweet, and the beef is there but not overpowering. Easy to eat and finished it quickly! Ah, it's nice to be able to eat casually like this. Whenever I eat curry, I feel like going to a cafe afterwards (laughs). There's a retro cafe nearby, so I'll have some tea before heading home. Thank you for the meal!

Curry restaurant located in Shin-Umeda Food Street. Visited for the first time on a weekday night. A small shop with a counter of 10 seats. - Masala Curry (Beef) 750 yen Medium spicy, Western style. Beef chunks that are tender. Served with Fukujinzuke and pickled radish. Rice is Japanese-style white rice, generous portion. - Minced Cutlet (Cheese-filled) Curry 900 yen Topping: Egg +50 yen The minced cutlet is soft and fragrant. The egg helps to reduce the spiciness. It was very delicious. Enjoyed it crisply.

I used it for lunch on a regular day. I arrived around 12:30 and was able to enter without waiting. I ordered the large serving of pork cutlet curry rice. It seems that the fried food takes about 7 minutes to cook. If you're short on time, you can get your order faster by not adding fried food as a topping. The curry was delicious with a moderate spiciness and a hint of sweetness, in a Western style.

I found a curry restaurant in Osaka that made me feel nostalgic and reassured when I ate there. It was located on a street called Omoide-dori, which seemed quite deep and interesting. There were many tourists with suitcases, and popular takoyaki and okonomiyaki shops with long lines. I chose this curry restaurant, and I must say it was very delicious. The restaurant had only one staff member and a counter for seating. I ordered the most popular katsu curry, but many other customers were ordering the "Choi De" curry, which had katsu, eggplant, and sausage on top - it looked delicious too. The mention of "Nasubi" (eggplant) made me feel a bit of Kansai vibe, which made me happy.笑

Had lunch in Umeda. I knew of its existence, but I love the Indian curry nearby too much to come here. Visited out of curiosity. Ordered the Masala Curry Beef. The food was delicious and the mother running the place efficiently. Thank you for the meal.

I completed two lessons at the sports club, then canceled the Pilates session and went for lunch. Luckily, there were no other customers when I arrived, but by the time I started eating, the restaurant was almost full. I ordered the classic pork cutlet curry. The curry sauce was spicy and paired well with the hot cutlet. It was delicious. However, it got cold quickly because it was a cold day. Thank you for the meal.
