Visit date and time: 2:00 PM on a weekday Waiting time: None Menu: Hot spring lunch set 1,200 yen + Chilled soup 150 yen + Mixed grain and red bean brown rice 150 yen I had some business in Honmachi and searched for a place where I could have lunch. I found Fuzen, where I could still have a meal at 2 PM. The fish lunch set was already sold out, so I ordered the somen lunch set instead. I changed the rice to onigiri and brown rice, and also added a chilled corn soup. The lunch set uses carefully selected ingredients. I was sweating when I entered the restaurant, so the chilled corn soup was deliciously cold and sweet. The somen noodles were topped with grated daikon radish and fried vegetables, making it very tasty. All the side dishes seemed to be good for the body. Everything was so delicious that I ended up eating too much. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I visited this restaurant for lunch. The menu always has interesting choices and it's hard to decide what to order. Today, I went with the sardine and vegetable croquettes. It was my first time trying sardine croquettes. I thought it would be minced sardine, but it was actually whole sardines mixed with vegetables and fried. I dipped it in sauce and surprisingly it was light and easy to finish. This restaurant always serves carefully prepared dishes, which makes me feel like I should treat them with care as well.

In Honmachi, there is a cafe called "Kazensui" located at Honmachi 4-chome in Chuo Ward. It is situated on the right side after crossing the first traffic light to the west of the intersection of Honmachi Street and Midosuji Street (Honmachi 3), next to Jo-to Curry. They offer a lunch menu for 1200 yen, including options like A: "Awakening of the Inca" with Norisan Farm's new chicken mince croquette, B: Young corn and cheese breast chicken roll with tomato sweet chili sauce, C: Tai leaf fry with tartar sauce, and D: Sauteed tai with Hiroshima lemon and fresh tomato sauce. Upon climbing the stairs to the table seats facing south, you can enjoy the bright sunlight coming in through the window. The background music playing is from the album "True Colors" by Olivia Ong, a female singer from Singapore. After ordering the croquette from option A, it was served in just 10 minutes, with a crispy texture but lacking a crunchy sensation. The side dishes of komatsuna, bitter melon, and snow peas showed attention to detail, and the miso soup was delicious. Overall, the experience was enjoyable with around 10 customers, mostly women, entering the restaurant within the first 10 minutes of opening.

I could tell that they carefully consider a balanced and healthy set meal. Although the main dish was mentioned as daily special, I couldn't quite figure out what the side dishes and dessert were, but they were delicious (*^^*).

This is a rice shop in Honmachi! I went there for lunch. There were a few female customers in the store. The meal seemed homely, with a combination of avocado, tomato, and fish that I haven't tried before but it was delicious! You can have a healthy meal here!

The opening time seems to be a bit late, as it is often not yet open when passing by. I visited this place for a late lunch. The cafe is located on the second floor, and when you open the door, it's a sudden natural country-style cafe that doesn't quite fit the business district of Honmachi. It seems to be run by women only. Since it was late, some of the side dishes were already sold out. I settled for croquettes. I wanted to try the chestnut rice from the menu below. For an additional 150 yen, I changed it to chestnut and mugwort rice. A large tray of various side dishes was served. I was looking forward to the chestnut rice, but there were only about 1.5 chestnuts in it. Well, that's how it goes with chestnut rice. And it turned out the rice was not sticky rice, but regular Japanese rice. The croquette was Inca Awakening minced meat croquette. When I cut it open, it was made of yellow sweet potato. The minced meat finally appeared. I remembered that it was supposed to come with a mini rolled omelette when I changed to chestnut rice. So, I asked about it, and it was brought out. A mini rolled omelette. I felt a bit suspicious today, as I was given the wrong change at another store earlier. The vegetable side dish had a healthy taste. The miso soup also had a healthy taste, maybe it was homemade miso? The dessert seemed to be a starchy, kneaded-like substance. The total bill was 1350 yen for the 1200 yen lunch set and the 150 yen for changing to chestnut rice. It was a simple and healthy homemade-style lunch. The cafe was cute as expected from a natural cafe. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch at a calm cafe on the second floor of a building. The customers are mostly women, and the daily specials seem healthy and good for beauty. The menu allows you to choose from two options and add toppings. I chose the sardine and shiso leaf fry without any toppings for 1200 yen. The fry consisted of sardine and seasonal vegetables (green pepper, eggplant). The special tartar sauce was very delicious! The set includes rice, miso soup, 4 small side dishes, and dessert. Everything tasted light to me personally, but seems good for the body. I think it's a nice place for women.

This cafe, which is quietly tucked away, is always crowded with women. Despite being a popular spot for women, the cafe offers generous portions of food, so it's a favorite place of mine. The menu includes Purple and White Cabbage with Mushroom Nut Chicken Roll Cutlet (served with chickpea hummus), Chicken and Three-Colored Daikon (red, green, black), and Saury with Sweet Potato and Lotus Root Tempura, all priced at 1200 yen each. I ordered the Purple and White Cabbage with Mushroom Nut Chicken Roll Cutlet (served with chickpea hummus). The plate was filled with plenty of vegetables and freshly fried chicken cutlet. The salad dressing seemed homemade and was very delicious. The three side dishes were also vegetable-rich and satisfying. Despite the price of 1200 yen, I didn't feel it was expensive because everything was meticulously prepared. The meal also came with dessert, making it a satisfying experience, which explains why there were so many women at the cafe.

I rushed to the restaurant because they offered a limited special of sea bream ochazuke. I tried the fresh sea bream with sesame sauce for the first time, and it was firm and chewy. In addition to that, there were plenty of tempura and other dishes, so I couldn't make it to the sea bream ochazuke due to being full both in my stomach and in terms of time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

During work breaks, a comforting lunchtime at a cozy place in Osaka Honmachi, looking out from the second-floor window at the street. The lunch is served promptly without taking up much time, with thoughtful service of bringing the tray quickly and allowing a smooth departure without the hassle of change. I hope they continue to do well in this business district during the pandemic, and I support this restaurant.

I like set meals with various side dishes. It's hard for me to prepare multiple side dishes on my own (lol), so I often choose restaurants where I can have a well-balanced meal for lunch. This time, I revisited a hidden café I went to a few years ago and I would like to introduce it to you. "Fu-sen" is located within walking distance from Hommachi Station on the Osaka Metro. It is located on the second floor of a building on Honmachi Street, between Yotsubashi-suji and Midosuji. You might not find it if you don't know about it. There is a small sign on the first floor with the lunch menu written on it, so you can go up the stairs, open the door, and enter the restaurant. It feels like visiting someone's home, truly a hidden gem. The lunch menu changes daily. A. Seafood Turnip Stew Baked in the Oven B. Hamburger with Grated Daikon, for 1000 yen. Additionally, you can change the miso soup to kasujiru for an extra charge, and you can change the rice to aged brown rice or chirimen sansho rice for an additional fee. +200 Winter vegetable-packed kasujiru +100 Aged brown rice with red beans or homemade chirimen sansho rice This time, I chose the A lunch with aged brown rice. This is the aged brown rice. It has a chewy texture that is its characteristic. This chewiness is addictive. It's delicious! The main dish is Seafood Turnip Stew Baked in the Oven. It is served piping hot. Wow! It looks like gratin! It is filled with big chunks of ingredients. Turnips, shrimp, squid, scallops, it's full of ingredients that I love (o^^o)♪ The side dishes are colorful. A plate of purple cabbage. A salad that looks like ratatouille with micro tomatoes. They are so tiny and cute! The miso soup is also gentle in flavor with plenty of vegetables. It was a very satisfying lunch. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

From exit 5 of Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, head west on Hommachi Street towards Watanabe-suji. You'll find a cafe that opened in 2011. To the left of the curry shop, take the stairs up to the second floor through the entrance with a curtain. Inside, you'll see antique furniture against white walls with a plaster-like finish. The atmosphere is bright and airy with large windows. The lunch menu offers three daily specials, each served with rice, miso soup, three side dishes, and fruit. The "Sauteed Natural Sea Bream" comes with a generous portion of pumpkin cream sauce. The food has a homely taste that will make you feel cozy. It's an urban oasis where you can relax and unwind.

Considering my health, I decided to try a healthy lunch at a place I had never noticed before. The entrance was narrow, but once I went upstairs, I was surprised by the large door. The interior of the restaurant was stylish, with high ceilings and a layout that provided a sense of openness. The soothing Bossa Nova music playing in the background added to the relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived at 1 pm, only one of the three menu options was left, so I ended up ordering the "Chicken Dumplings and Lotus Root Cream Stew." The dish was visually appealing and seemed like it would have detoxifying effects. However, the portion of the main chicken dumplings was a bit small, and I felt like there wasn't enough side dishes to accompany it. The salad with a well-balanced acidity and mayonnaise dressing, the miso soup with plenty of cabbage, and the dessert that looked like yogurt with jam but turned out to be something entirely different, all contributed to a unique dining experience. Although I had high hopes for the Koshihikari rice from Uonuma, I was a bit disappointed by the cooking. Overall, the restaurant had a great atmosphere, with many female customers, so I might consider going back again in the future.

Located about a 3-minute walk from Honmachi Station, this cafe bar is a hidden gem that is quietly popular. I visited at 6 pm and ordered the "Herbal Sangria" hot for 500 yen. The sangria comes in a small glass, and when you bring it close to your nose, you can smell a subtly spicy aroma. It's packed with various ingredients. It's evident that it's been soaked in red wine with fruits and spices, as it gently warms you up with each sip. It's more refreshing and easy to drink than typical spiced hot wine, with a fruity taste. I had been feeling really cold lately, so my body was craving it. They also offer herbal chai and specialty coffee, making it an excellent cafe as well. I originally planned to just have coffee, but once alcohol is involved, you start craving snacks. I tried the "Homemade Mock Eel in Ankake Sauce" for 680 yen. The appetizers that came first were "Simmered Chicken Liver and Daikon" and "Simmered Turnip (with miso)". The chicken liver was seasoned with a strong flavor, slightly spicy. The daikon and onions were also very tasty. And then, when I started to feel a little tipsy from the sangria, the mock eel was just amazing. I forgot to write a food review and devoured it. The freshly fried batter was fluffy and soft, the lotus root had a crunchy texture, and there were small pieces of carrots, leaves, and various other ingredients. The ankake sauce had a subtle yuzu fragrance, and I drank it all up until the last drop. It was incredibly delicious, especially the outer batter part! As my body began to warm up, I didn't want to leave yet. I ordered an additional rice ball and miso soup. The rice balls come in a set of two for 500 yen, so probably around 250 yen each. The miso soup was an additional 200 yen. After a short wait, the adorable rice balls and piping hot miso soup arrived. The turnip leaf and tofu miso soup had a strong dashi flavor and a light miso taste. I think it's purposely made to be light for the finishing touch. The rice balls were seasoned with yukari. The pickles served with it had a unique taste of sansho pepper, adding an accent to the simple rice balls. It's a cozy Japanese-style cafe playing pop songs like "Last Christmas" and "When Christmas Carols are Playing". Both the drinks and the food are excellent. They also serve a 1000 yen lunch with the same quality during lunchtime.

I was curious about the lunch at Fuzen-san a while ago, so I tried the Salmon Fry with an extra 200 yen to change the miso soup to pork miso soup. The salmon had a crispy coating and was delicious, while the pork miso soup had a strong miso flavor that stood out more than the broth. I'll try the miso soup next time!
