This time, the restaurant is "Wagyu Yakiniku Gokan" located in Osaka's Kita-Shinchi area. This is a well-established yakiniku restaurant with 50 years of history that recently relocated and opened in Kita-Shinchi last October. The restaurant is just a short walk from Kita-Shinchi Station, located along the Torii-Suji Line on the 2nd floor of the J Pride Building. It was around 6 pm when I arrived. The restaurant has a clean and cozy atmosphere, fitting for a night out in Kita-Shinchi, with a touch of casual charm. The friendly owner gives off a vibe of a dapper gentleman from Kansai, which is quite charming. As we enjoyed some drinks and snacked on kimchi and white tripe, the meat arrived shortly after. It was my first time seeing a smokeless roaster. Apparently, there are still few restaurants in Kansai that use this method, which involves slowly cooking the meat using a stainless steel water-cooled grill and natural ceramic far-infrared rays. The owner explained the process and cooked the meat right in front of us. There was no sound and no smoke. I thought, "There's no way it's cooked," but when I flipped it over, it was perfectly cooked. It was a mystery. Similar to the trend of low-temperature cooking, the meat was cooked slowly, resulting in a beautifully pink and shiny texture. It looked delicious. Let's dig in. Report: - Kimchi Assortment: A selection of 4 types of kimchi - celery, yam, radish, and Chinese cabbage. Slightly spicy kimchi that pairs well with drinks. The celery kimchi was an interesting twist. - White Tripe: White tripe that has been carefully prepared until it turns completely white. It has a nice texture and goes well with the special sauce, which adds a good touch of acidity. This white tripe dish was surprisingly delicious and had a unique texture. - Matsusaka Beef Yukhoe: A luxurious yukhoe made with 100% Matsusaka beef. The sweetness of the meat combined with the slightly sweet and savory sauce and rich egg yolk creates a perfect harmony. It's the kind of yukhoe that you would want to mix with white rice. The richness of the meat in this dish is unparalleled. - Premium Tongue Wrapped in Salt and Green Onions: Thick slices of premium tongue wrapped in green onions. The tongue, cooked in the smokeless roaster, retains its juiciness, resulting in a fantastic texture. The combination of the juicy meat, chewy texture of the tongue, and the flavor of salt and green onion is indescribable. - Premium Harami: A thick cut of premium harami that resembles a steak. Cooked slowly, the meat oozes with juiciness with each bite. It has no strong flavor, just pure umami that is elevated to perfection. - Matsusaka Beef Sukiyaki: Sukiyaki made with beautiful Matsusaka beef. Dip it in plenty of Ran-oh eggs and savor the rich flavor. It's incredibly delicious, with a mouthful of umami, sweetness, and a chewy texture that makes you want to savor every bite. - Gokan Cold Noodles: Classic light cold noodles. The thin noodles are easy to eat, with a slurpy texture that is very satisfying. - Choice of Gelato: Choose one from the selection of about 10 gelato flavors. My friend couldn't decide, so the generous owner offered us both. I chose black honey kinako, and it was incredibly delicious. My friend was also very satisfied. Epilogue: The quality of the meat was outstanding, and the smokeless roaster really stood out. Since it doesn't produce any smell, it could be a convenient yakiniku restaurant in Kita-Shinchi. There are also private rooms at the back, making it a versatile dining option.

Located on the second floor of a building in Kitashinchi!! When the elevator opens, you are greeted with a chic atmosphere and private rooms, making it a great place for business dinners, dates, or dining with friends. They use smokeless roasters so your clothes and hair won't smell like barbecue, which is a plus for Kitashinchi. On this day, we ordered a variety of dishes a la carte: Kimchi platter with 4 types of kimchi for 1,420 yen, seared Matsusaka beef tataki for 2,290 yen, fresh liver sashimi for 1,690 yen, premium thick-cut salted tongue for 2,990 yen, Matsusaka beef yakiniku for 3,290 yen, and premium harami (skirt steak) for 4,290 yen. We also had a half portion of refreshing cold noodles for 990 yen. The beautifully presented seared liver sashimi is a must-try, with a texture reminiscent of yokan (sweet bean jelly). The yakiniku, lightly seared on the surface, was so tender and delicious, true to Matsusaka beef quality. Despite the chic ambiance, the staff is friendly and welcoming, giving the place a cozy feel. It's said that baseball players and celebrities often come here for the delicious meat. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I decided to take a little break from the Bon festival holiday and treated myself to some gourmet food the day before and on this day. It's not a bad idea to unexpectedly indulge in some luxury. I made a reservation after narrowing down the options based on the location and price range, and it turned out to be a great choice! The restaurant is located on a side street next to Sugi Pharmacy on the south side of Osaka Station Building No. 3. I was expecting it to be difficult to find in an area with many buildings named "Building," but it was easy to locate. The heat and fatigue had been building up, so even though I usually like fish, this place was all about meat! I made it there safely. Let's start with a beer to cool off from the heat. Thanks to a sudden rain shower, the ground felt humid, but the wind became somewhat cooler after a while. The visibility was good! This time, they mentioned that they could serve dishes in a different way than usual, and the timing was on my side. Let's start with a kimchi platter with four varieties (celery, yam, Chinese cabbage, and hakusai). The celery was unusual, and the Chinese cabbage was also good. Let's enjoy picking and eating in between. The beautiful white senmai was next. It was beautifully arranged and looked very soft. The special sauce also added a great flavor. Then came the Matsusaka beef raw yukhoe, which was even more visually striking. "Wagyu Yakiniku Gokan" has been a popular yakiniku restaurant in Osaka for 50 years and recently relocated from Asahi Ward to Kitashinchi. Known for its fresh and high-quality meats and offal, this restaurant has been trending. We sat in a seat by the back wall facing towards it. We started with a toast of plum wine soda and a kimchi platter with 4 varieties. The kimchi was not too spicy and easy to eat. The seared fresh liver sashimi was a delight, even for those who are not fans of raw liver like me. The seared Matsusaka beef tataki was delicious and melted in the mouth. The thick salted tongue of the special selection was superb, and the special selection harami was surprisingly tasty with just the right seasoning. The Matsusaka beef yakiniku shabu-shabu was a treat, as it is a favorite of mine. The Gokan cold noodles were delicate with a refined broth. For dessert, we had gelato with a variety of flavors to choose from, a surprising and delightful addition to a yakiniku restaurant. I chose rum raisin, which was refreshing and delicious. The whiskey selection was extensive, and I enjoyed a second glass of Yamazaki with soda to finish the meal. One of the highlights of this restaurant is the smokeless roaster, which is still rare. On a holiday in Kitashinchi for dinner. My friend found a delicious looking yakiniku restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. This restaurant has a "completely smokeless roaster" installed on the table, so there is no smell on clothes or hair. The modern and clean interior is spacious and has an open atmosphere. The chicness of this yakiniku restaurant is so exciting!! We ordered: - Kimchi assortment (1,090 yen) - Beauty white beef tripe (1,390 yen) - Matsusaka beef raw yukhoe (2,490 yen) - Special tongue salt and green onion wrap (2,990 yen) - Matsusaka beef special top loin (3,790 yen) - Matsusaka beef yakiniku (3,390 yen) - Half cold noodles (990 yen) - Today's recommended ice cream (790 yen) It was my first time eating meat cooked on a completely smokeless roaster!! The far-infrared rays cook the meat at low temperatures, giving the meat a thorough cooking. Excess fat drips down, adjusting the moisture content, resulting in juicy meat. There is no sizzling sound when grilling the meat, making it great for dates or business meals without interrupting conversations. The kimchi assortment includes Chinese cabbage, cucumber, yam, and celery. Each piece is large and full of volume. The perfect spiciness makes it a great accompaniment to drinks. The beauty white beef tripe is crispy and chewy, and the miso sauce enhances the flavor. The combination of lemon acidity and deep miso flavor was delicious. The raw yukhoe with egg yolk on top is shiny and rich. The tender yukhoe has a good balance with the sauce, making it delicious. The special tongue is filled with white onions. It is thick but tender with a good bite. The crunchy texture of the white onions was also good. The Matsusaka beef top loin is enjoyed with a special sauce. The fermented yakiniku sauce adds a vegetable umami and sweetness to the light flavor. The harmony with the meat was good, and the flavor spread as I chewed. The yakiniku slices are a part between the inside and outside of the thigh. The fluffy texture is comforting, enveloping you in gentleness. It was tender yet had elasticity. It was thinly sliced but had a good amount of fat, and it was delicious when mixed with egg yolk and sauce. The beef bone and clam cold noodles have thin noodles with amazing elasticity!! The light mouthfeel is followed by a rich flavor. It is full of fried burdock, chashu, and kimchi. For dessert, we had Amaou strawberry and black honey kinako ice cream. It was delightful to eat with an ice cream spoon. The flavor was rich and delicious, and I was very satisfied! I was able to enjoy Matsusaka beef cooked on a completely smokeless roaster. The exquisite cooking allowed me to savor the delicious taste. The friendly owner's hospitality was also delightful, making it a memorable and enjoyable time.

A new yakiniku restaurant opened in Kitashinchi last year. The interior of the restaurant is stylish and does not look like a typical yakiniku place. It has a chic design and is a space geared towards adults. It seems to get busy later in the evening due to its location. This restaurant pays attention to details such as the dishes, interior, and roaster. The grill is made of water pipes, and when the fire is lit, the water quickly reaches 100 degrees, followed by far-infrared rays. This method slowly brings out the deliciousness of the meat like cooking with body temperature. And the best part is, there is almost no smoke or smell! This is very convenient especially if you are taking the train back home. The menu for the day included a kimchi platter with four types of kimchi - Chinese cabbage, nagaimo (Japanese yam), komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), and mung bean sprouts. Each kimchi had a slightly different seasoning and all were delicious. The Chinese cabbage had a savory flavor, the komatsuna was the spiciest, the nagaimo had a balance of spiciness and sweetness, and the mung bean sprouts were crunchy and tasty. The fresh seared liver was incredibly sweet and melted in the mouth. It paired perfectly with the sesame oil and salt sauce. This was also made from Matsusaka beef. The Matsusaka beef tataki had beautifully sliced meat. The balance of firmness and tenderness was excellent. The homemade sauce was also delicious. The thick-cut salted tongue was grilled by the owner himself. He used to specialize in Japanese cuisine, and his attention to detail was evident in the presentation and cooking of each meat. The tongue had a great balance of chewiness and tenderness. The grilled shabu-shabu was made with tender meat and homemade ponzu sauce. The smooth ponzu sauce complemented the tender meat perfectly. The special selection harami tareyaki was another delicious dish. The meat had a perfect balance of chewiness and tenderness. The yakiniku sauce was a homemade sauce that has been passed down for 50 years. It was fruity and refreshing, and we enjoyed it with wasabi. The Gokan cold noodles were made with beef bone soup and clam broth. The thin noodles paired well with the rich yet refreshing soup, and we could eat as much as we wanted. The gelato for dessert was also delicious. We forgot to ask if it was homemade, but it was milky and very tasty. All the meats were delicious, and it was a yakiniku restaurant that paid attention to presentation and eating style, not typical of a yakiniku place. Coupled with the owner's fun personality, it was a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. There was really no smell on our hair or clothes. This is a restaurant we would like to visit again. There is a shop located just a short walk from Kitashinchi Station where I had some really delicious meat! The shop is on the second floor of a building, and when you open the door, the friendly and cheerful manager greets you warmly. The first meat I tried was the Matsusaka beef Yukhoe, which looked very fresh and delicious. It was topped with egg yolk, but I enjoyed half of it just as the flavor of the Matsusaka beef. Next, I had the special thick tongue with salt, which was cut very thick but still easy to chew. It was delicious with red salt and lemon. I also tried the Tomo Triangle, Ichibo, Sasami, and Harami, and they were all very tasty, but if I had to choose, the Sasami was my favorite. It had a soft texture and just the right amount of fat. For dessert, I had the cold noodles which were made with beef bone and shijimi clam broth, and they were also quite tasty. You can easily enjoy delicious meat here even if you're dining alone, so I definitely want to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I finally had the chance to visit Gokan, a place I've been wanting to go since last year! The atmosphere, quality of the meat, taste, and service were all very pleasant. I especially loved the original barbecue sauce - I would definitely buy it if it was available for purchase. This time, I reserved a course meal, but next time I want to try other menu items a la carte! I look forward to visiting again on a special occasion.
