I went to a Korean restaurant called "Kanraku" in front of Kamata Station. It's a 2-minute walk from the west exit of Kamata, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant is very cozy with around 26 seats. They have a wide variety of classic Korean dishes on the menu. We started with some lightly salted Korean seaweed, perfect for a starter. Of course, we also had some Chamisul for a toast! A Korean-style steamed egg dish was served in a stone pot, with a fluffy texture and gentle flavor. The crispy seafood and vegetable pancake was also delicious, with a generous amount of ingredients and a great match with the sweet and spicy sauce. The Cheese Tteokbokki with gooey cheese was impressive, and the chewy tteokbokki had a spicy kick that paired well with the richness of the cheese. Lastly, we enjoyed a spicy stew that warmed us up from the inside. Eating Korean food with friends is always delicious and fun. The friendly conversation with the owner also added to the warm atmosphere. It was a satisfying meal!

Thanks to the master's personality, I visit this place about once a month. The appetizers are not just one pattern, and you can enjoy yourself plenty until the main dishes arrive. The kimchi is homemade, and although the master was modest about it, it was delicious, Mama. I often drink alone, so the samgyeopsal here is just right for me. If there are 3 or 4 people, sharing a large plate of grilled meat is good, but for about 2 people, it's ideal here. As for the menu, I usually go for sundubu-jjigae or chijimi, but today I chose the leek chijimi. I couldn't finish it all, so I took one-third home, but the crispy texture was excellent, and the sauce was refreshing, making it a perfect match.

I went to a recommended restaurant by a friend who is a Korea enthusiast! The entrance was small and hard to find, but the owner, a friendly and energetic old man, made me feel welcome right away. I ordered seafood pancake, beef ribs, sundubu, and a kimchi assortment. The flavors were authentic and delicious! I also enjoyed drinking fresh makgeolli and had a fun conversation with the old man in broken Korean. After a while, he went to sit with customers at other tables and chatted with them. It was a popular spot! The cold noodles were also delicious, not too chewy. Highly recommended!

The amount of appetizers is generous and tastes amazing, almost like a main dish. Overall, the portions are large and the prices are very reasonable, making it great value for money. This Korean restaurant is down-to-earth, with a friendly Korean owner. I would definitely want to go back multiple times.

I had chapchae and pure tofu jjigae. The jjigae is delicious!! It has plenty of shellfish, so the broth is really good. It's comforting ( ̄▽ ̄) but spicy (lol). The portion size is big, so be careful when ordering (lol). Unfortunately, I couldn't finish it all (sweat).

A cost-effective Korean restaurant. The taste may vary slightly depending on the day. The pancake is crispy, with squid even if it's not seafood, which is nice. They wrap up the leftovers for you. They don't have bossam, but boiled pork with leeks is a similar dish. The way the leeks are cut is a bit sloppy, but the sweet and spicy seasoning lingers. The pork is belly meat, but the fat is not a concern. Japchae has a mysterious taste. It's also sweet. Sweet like sugar. But delicious. Be careful if you don't like spicy food, as there is green chili in it. The hand-length octopus hot pot has small octopus, chunks of beef soup meat, zucchini, bean sprouts, mushrooms, udon, etc. It's moderately spicy and delicious. Located on the second floor of a deep alley building, it's a small popular restaurant so it's advisable to make a reservation.

A cozy Korean restaurant with a homey atmosphere. When we ordered drinks, we were served cucumber salad and rolled omelette as complimentary appetizers. I wanted to try the bossam, but couldn't find it on the menu, so I ordered boiled pork and leek salad instead. The leek salad was delicious, but I wish the boiled pork was a bit more tender... and it would have been perfect if it came with boiled cabbage! The smoked pig's feet had plenty of collagen and meat, although the smoky flavor was not very strong. The cheese potato pancake was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, like a pizza. The kids loved it! Since it was cold, we ordered the kamjatang (spicy potato and tail meat stew), but it was a bit bland. After simmering and adding some spicy miso, it turned out just right. The potatoes, tail meat, and perilla leaves were very tasty. The best dish we ordered was the water dumplings! The soup was rich and gentle, almost good enough to drink on its own. The dumplings were delicious too. We were a group of three adults and two kids this time, so we couldn't try many dishes, but I look forward to trying kimbap and other items next time.

It's been a while since I added photos. I haven't stopped going, but I always order the same menu items and don't try new ones. The bibim noodles are delicious. Probably around 800 yen.
I added photos in November 2014. I regularly visit and tend to stick to the same items. There are still many menu items I haven't tried yet.
Added photos in August 2013. Tried domestic pork makgeolli, which was slightly rich. I prefer it over the Kuksoon Dan makgeolli. I hope they bring back the pork makgeolli. Also tried kamjatang for around 2500 yen. It was not too spicy, just normal. The wasabi radish pickles taste like Korean wasabi.
Note: Some reviews from another restaurant with the same name are mixed in. Please be aware.
Added photos of octopus and vegetable salad, pindaettok (mung bean pancake), whole garlic deep-fried, and tofu kimchi. I haven't tried sundubu jjigae yet, but the topokki is large and delicious. Also, added photos of cheese topokki, Korean-style onion slices, samgyeopsal, yangnyeom gejang, and tofu kimchi.
This is a Korean izakaya I've been frequenting recently. The entrance may be a bit hard to find, but once inside, it's a cozy Korean izakaya. There aren't many Korean restaurants that serve small dishes suitable for a small group, but Kanraku (Mr. An's shop) has a range of dishes priced from 200 yen to 980 yen (excluding hot pots), making it easy to enjoy food and drinks even when visiting alone. All the dishes are generally delicious. There is also a wide variety of drinks to choose from. Mr. An and the staff are friendly and approachable, making it a comfortable place to relax. The level of crowding may vary depending on the day, so it's advisable to make a reservation to secure a seat.

On the second day of my business trip, the stifling heat continued. My body craved some spice, so I headed to "Kanraku" in Kamata. When I opened the door, the crowded restaurant was buzzing with energy. Despite the chaos, it felt strangely comfortable. Korean star posters adorned the walls. I started with Tteokbokki. It was so spicy that I had to gulp down a whole glass of beer. Tropical nights call for beer. Then came Chapchae. I can't go to a Korean restaurant without ordering Chapchae. It always makes me crave rice. And the seafood Pancake recommended by my friend who guided me in Kamata this time. It was a generous portion. The seafood flavor and texture were excellent. It was delicious. Each dish was so tasty, but the portions were too big. I was full after ordering just three dishes. I got a little something for takeout. The service was friendly, yet the flavors were bold and unforgiving. This Korean cuisine is truly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I have been coming to this place from a long time ago! It's a genuine Korean restaurant where even Japanese people can enjoy delicious food. The male Korean staff (maybe the owner?) speaks in a very cute and friendly manner. The appetizers and meals are delicious, and they have a variety of drinks. I always order wasabi daikon, chijimi, dumplings (or steamed dumplings), tteokbokki, salad, and more. This time, I also tried some rice dishes (slightly spicy). The makgeolli is reasonably priced and easy to drink, so I ordered a bottle. Even though it had been a while since my last visit, the staff remembered me.

I went the other day. The staff seemed to be Korean. As it got busier, I was asked to move seats and they provided Korean-style service. I ordered Bulgogi, Kimchi pancake, and seaweed rolls. The Bulgogi was 2300 yen and the portion was quite large for two people. The taste was a bit strong... The staff took care of the grill, and for some reason, they put a lot of salt, which made it a bit too salty... But aside from that, it was delicious. The Kimchi pancake was tasty! The seaweed rolls were average. It took a while for the order to arrive, so I couldn't finish everything because I was already full. The meat being grilled next to me looked really delicious, so I want to try something different next time.

I ordered shochu and "Tteokbokki" for 700 yen. Tteokbokki is a Korean dish made of cylindrical rice cakes called tteok, stir-fried in a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce. I love rice cakes, and I think Korean cuisine is delicious. Surprisingly, my favorite dish is not the pancake, kimchi, or bibimbap, but this dish. Honestly, I could eat this every other day. The version at this restaurant is loaded with vegetables and goes well with alcohol. It lives up to its name "Flaming" with a high level of spiciness. I sweat gently while eating it. As I enjoy the Tteokbokki with more shochu, I wait for the arrival of "Gamjatang" for 2200 yen. Gamjatang translates to "potato (gamja)" and "soup (tang)". It is a spicy soup made by simmering pork spine for a long time with chili, garlic, and ginger, and adding diced potatoes. To eliminate the smell of pork spine, lots of green onions and perilla leaves are added. The main way to enjoy this dish is to savor the meat on the pork spine. The soup, rich in pork bone and vegetable flavors, is delicious. And it's seriously spicy. If you have room in your stomach, I imagine it would be a challenge to eat this soup with rice. I spend my time with tears in my eyes and a runny nose, thinking about it.

You may be surprised to find a Korean restaurant in such a place... The entrance may look suspicious at first, but once you step inside, you'll feel like you're in Korea. The dishes, including the specialty dishes, are all delicious and worth the price. With a wide variety of menu options, it's perfect for a group outing where you can try a variety of dishes. The hot pot is especially recommended in the winter.

I visited a delicious Korean restaurant in Kamata that my friend recommended. It's located less than a 3-minute walk from JR Kamata Nishiguchi Station. It's just off the main street where "Katsuya" is located, on the second floor to the left. The entrance has a wooden door with a unique doorknob style that you turn to the right. We ordered a variety of dishes including Namul assortment, Oi Kimchi, Japchae, Seafood Jeon, Naengmyeon, Jangajji, and Korean seaweed. The Japchae was on the sweeter side, while the Seafood Jeon and Naengmyeon were delicious. We also enjoyed plenty of Makgeolli. The total cost for three people was around 15,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

Visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend's mother. Was a bit hesitant because the entrance looked like an apartment staircase, but was pleasantly surprised. The walls were covered with posters of Korean stars, including Yon-sama. The staff were Korean but spoke Japanese fluently and provided great service. In addition to the extensive menu, there were also recommended dishes on a board. The Chapchae was the most delicious. A great place to casually enjoy Korean cuisine.
