I casually entered a yakitori restaurant because I felt like eating yakitori. The interior was fairly spacious with a counter, table seats, and tatami seating. I went on a Saturday at 6 pm and there were enough seats available, so it seems suitable for families with children. The yakitori was priced at 180 yen per skewer, which was cost-effective. The taste was average. It's a good place for a casual drink.

Today I had a half day off in the afternoon. I watched a movie in Nihonbashi and then got off the train halfway on my way home. Why? Because I wanted to eat the lotus root tempura here. It was after 8:30 pm and the restaurant was about half full. Since I was alone, I was seated at the counter. I felt like eating a variety of things today, so I ordered a few dishes without getting too full, along with sweet potato shochu on the rocks. I decided to skip the mega highball. I started with the lotus root tempura, which is my favorite here. Then I had pig's head, harami (skirt steak), and negima (grilled chicken and green onion skewers). The flavors were consistent and delicious. Towards the end, I had cold tofu topped with plenty of bonito flakes, which was also very tasty. In the end, I had four glasses of sweet potato shochu and the total bill was just under ¥3,000. I was very satisfied with the meal. It was a shame that I couldn't try the quail fry and that the smashed cucumber was no longer on the menu.

After finishing work, I stopped by at Chikuzenya in Kasai for a quick drink before heading home for dinner. It seems like I visited this place over 10 years ago, but I don't remember it at all (lol). Today, I came here for a casual drink and was pleasantly surprised to find out that if I downloaded their app, I would get a free drink. So, I downloaded the app and got a glass of draft beer. I started with their recommended dish, low-temperature cooked liver, which was quite good. Then, I ordered three skewers and another glass of draft beer. I tried the limited items, which were toro tan (fatty beef tongue), shiro (beef tongue), and teppo (beef tripe). It had been a while since I had grilled tongue, and it tasted really delicious. The toro tan was especially amazing! The shiro and teppo with sauce were also very good. I enjoyed dipping them in the spicy miso. The sauce here has a great flavor, and the quality of the meat is good too. I just made a quick stop, but the total bill came to 1,419 yen. Oh, and one more thing, they don't serve any appetizers, which is nice. I was quite satisfied with my meal. Chikuzenya is actually pretty good, huh?

Chikuzen-ya is a chain restaurant known for its yakitori. I wanted to go to a yakitori restaurant, but since they were closed, I ended up going to this place. The skewers cost around 120-180 yen each, and other dishes are also reasonably priced. I had a lot of delicious items like chicken skin, chilled liver sashimi, and tongue. Thank you for the meal!

Local meeting with dad friends to plan a Mt. Fuji climb. It's a chain restaurant, but it's cheap and not bad (more on the tasty side), so it passes with flying colors. They have a wide variety of drinks, including mega sizes, and it's good value for money. The interior has both booth tables and tatami seating, making it convenient. A wallet-friendly local gem.

At the end of November 2018, around 9:00 PM on a Friday. It's been a while since I last patrolled. The menu has changed a bit. They introduced Iburi Gakko cheese ❤️. This is a delightful menu update. I often pass by the front of the restaurant, and it's always crowded. If you want to drink at Chikuzenya, making a reservation is a must. In spring, the cherry blossoms in front of the restaurant bloom beautifully, and in summer, they open the doors, creating a very open atmosphere. Oh, they started a happy hour? It's only at the Kasai branch. Was it always there? No, I've never seen it before. It must be a new addition. To have a cheap izakaya with a happy hour is amazing! They usually serve mega jugs of drinks, but since it's our second stop, I felt like having some makgeolli, and when I asked if I could order a bottle, they said "OK." I finished it in no time (^^). The dessert has also changed. There were young customers, and a group of Asian tourists were also enjoying their meal. It's nice to see a little change when patrolling after a long time.

Before the pandemic, I used to go to this restaurant often, but this time I went after a long time and I was a little disappointed. I understand that there is a shortage of staff, but the time it took for our order to arrive was unbelievably long. Also, the quality of the food has decreased significantly, which was disappointing. The staff seemed apologetic and were bowing their heads around the restaurant. I think they should come up with better solutions. It's possible that it was just this particular day, so I apologize if that's the case.

I haven't been to this place during the pandemic, but I used to go there often. The charcoal-grilled skewers are really good! I wonder if they still have the "Bakamori" potato, salad, and fried chicken. I think kids would love it.

Early August 2017. It had been a while since I visited Chikuzen-ya. I was pleasantly surprised by the thickness of the Toro-tan. I had a good "oh?" moment when I saw it. I didn't expect such thickness at this kind of izakaya. However, opinions on this might vary. The cabbage with salted kelp was served in a slightly smaller dish, but the portion was still generous. Hmm, the salt and pepper seasoning seemed a bit strong today, maybe because it's summer? The "Shirokoro Hormone" skewers had a strong hormone aroma but were tender. The richness was balanced out by the wasabi served on the side. The "Mega Jockey" size beer was impressive, and if there's a bar with larger jockey sizes and better pricing, I'd definitely go there. I don't order them anymore due to my age, but the ridiculously large vegetable salad, fried chicken, and potato dishes have a strong presence and are a hit when shared with a group. Overall, I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

This is my first time marking "visited" on Tabelog, but I'm actually a heavy user here (≧∀≦). Among the many restaurants, one of my favorites is this place. The food prices are cheap but the portions are generous, and the taste is good enough for an izakaya. They have interesting menu items like "Stupidly Large Potato," "Stupidly Large Fried Chicken," and "Stupidly Large Vegetable Salad." Definitely worth a try. For adult drinks, if you're looking to relax with family, one mega jug will put you in a good mood. It's usually crowded early on weekends, and sometimes you can't get in, but on Christmas Eve it was about half full. There were a couple of large families enjoying their Christmas party here. Usually, many solo diners sit at the counter and relax. Now, my recommended orders are... ▶︎Cabbage Platter (with salted kelp) I make this at home too. Easy to replicate and delicious. A whole cabbage disappears in no time. Loved by people of all ages ❤︎ ▶︎Tonkotsu Ramen The soup is creamy and apparently delicious, according to my family. ▶︎Ginger Highball (Mega Jug) It comes with a big slice of ginger (rich in fiber, often used as a condiment) and it always blows me away. I drink this every week in winter, and I think I won't catch a cold if I chew on ginger. ▶︎Others like grilled chicken with yuzu ponzu, onion slices, etc., are all good. I haven't tried all the varieties, but I have never encountered something like "this is bad." The pork belly was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I'll be back for the Ginger Highball.

This izakaya is cheap and delicious. I have already reviewed stores like Chikuzenya Nishikasai and Chikuzenya Honhachiman. This time, I visited the Kasai store with a friend. Here is what we ordered:
- Pork and green onion skewers
- Hakata-style fried chicken
- Super delicious fried rice
- Tuna bits
- Stir-fried spinach and bacon
- Spicy cod roe
The dishes were all consistently delicious. There are no fancy dishes, but you get exactly what you expect in terms of taste. The alcohol flowed, and the conversation was lively. The food was delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. I hope this kind of restaurant continues to thrive. Thank you for the meal!

This chain is bustling everywhere (≧∇≦) and this place is no exception (^-^) The balance between price and portion size is perfect (^ ^) The atmosphere is like a tavern, not too cheap or too expensive... They even have dishes like raw pork hormone, and the menu lineup is excellent (^-^) This time, I tried the grilled ramen for the first time and it was quite delicious (^ ^) The portion size was good too (^ ^) The service was not great, but it felt like they were making up for it with the atmosphere... Still, I will go back again (≧∇≦)

Around 6:00 pm on a regular night, I noticed that both the yakitori and yakiton (grilled pork) shops were quite busy. I decided to choose this shop this time. For the grilled items, I ordered "chicken liver skewers for $1.80", "chicken tail for $1.80", "liver for $1.20", "heart for $1.00", and "Hakata miso sauce for $1.80". In addition, I also ordered "fried octopus for $3.80" and "plenty of wind dumplings in soup". The grilled items were a good match for beer. I especially liked the "Hakata miso sauce". The "fried octopus" had a generous portion and the flavor of the octopus was well condensed, so ordering it was the right choice. The "dumplings in soup" also had a generous portion and the dumplings were delicious. I wish I had more room in my stomach to try the motsu nabe (offal hot pot). I think it's a good place for a casual pub that is easy to enter.

One of the always crowded shops in Kasai. The shop is always close to full despite being spacious, which is surprising, so I decided to try it out. As I entered, I noticed many rough-looking young people and salarymen. The shop smelled of cigarettes. The staff were polite and courteous, likely part-time workers. Looking at the menu, I thought it was extensive and reasonably priced. This might be the reason many people are drawn to this shop. They also had Japanese sake like Yamahai and Ichinokura, which I enjoyed a glass of. The cabbage miso pickles, chorogi salad, negima, tsukune, yamaimo wasabi soy sauce, motsunabe for two, potatoes, and black bean ice cream were all delicious. I ate quite a bit, but it came to around 2000 yen per person. The shop doesn't have doors and has an open terrace vibe, which may be nice for eating and leaving. However, the flavors are more geared towards casual izakaya dining, and the only thing I would want to eat again is the tsukune. If I have the chance, I would like to explore other menu items as well.

The other day, I was invited by a friend and decided to go! When I entered the restaurant, I was impressed by the lively atmosphere with many customers! It seems like a community-oriented establishment, right? The staff and customers seemed to get along well, creating a nice vibe! The food was quite delicious for the price, although I felt that the overall cost was a bit on the higher side, making it not a place I can frequent easily. However, the dishes, drinks, and staff all contributed to a well-balanced dining experience! This is just my personal opinion!

The restaurant is a 3-4 minute walk from the station and is always crowded. The yakitori is extremely delicious and you can eat as many skewers as you want (lol). The Chorogi salad comes in a large plate which was surprising (lol). It would be nice if there were some red-colored ingredients like tomatoes for better presentation. The dishes range from 280 to 380 yen, so even if you eat a lot, it will cost around 3,000 yen per person. The interior allows smoking, and there seem to be many smoking customers. If you don't like smoke, it might bother you a little.

Upon entering, the restaurant gives off a vibe of a Showa-era popular izakaya (a type of Japanese pub) with a spacious layout. It's almost full, mainly with groups of 3-5 middle-aged salarymen, creating a lively atmosphere. It takes a bit of time for the server to come and take drink orders due to the crowd. I order a draft beer, which comes with about 1/3 foam. The cabbage dish I ordered as a starter is small, about a quarter of a cabbage, but tasty when dipped in miso. The pork and leek skewers were delicious, but the grilled chicken skewers were a disappointment. It seems like this place is better for grilled pork dishes. We ordered a few side dishes, which were decent but the cooking and presentation were a bit sloppy. The portions were good for sharing among a group. The second beer, a 1-liter mega jug, also took a while to arrive. It was a large glass, but probably closer to 800ml than 1000ml. The rice ball was large but fell apart easily, like it had been microwaved. It would be fine for rice porridge, but not for a rice ball. The prices for the food were cheap, but the beer was slightly more expensive compared to other izakayas nearby. The staff seemed a bit understaffed, leading to slow service, especially with drinks. Overall, it's a good place for a casual and affordable drinking session with colleagues, but it's not my preferred choice. I probably won't be coming back.
