I felt like having sushi for dinner, so I stopped by casually. I ordered the special course, but since I don't like scallops, they replaced it with salmon roe for me. I wish they had a series with seared sushi too. I'm so full. It was really delicious. I will visit again! Thank you for the meal.

I had to transfer at Nippori Station, so I decided to have lunch here. I was lucky to get a seat at the counter. I ordered the premium sushi set with a glass of beer. Looking back, I should have gone for the premium lunch set (laughs). It included 11 pieces, including two pieces of conger eel, so maybe it was actually 12 pieces. The rice was a bit on the larger side, but it was good for a lunch portion. The conger eel was plump and delicious. Overall, everything was quite tasty. It's nice to be able to enjoy this kind of sushi quickly when you're short on time.

In the corner of Ecute inside Nippori Station, there is a sushi restaurant. There are 7-8 seats at the counter where you can watch the sushi being made in front of you. I ordered the seafood bowl for lunch because it was reasonably priced. In just a few minutes, a colorful seafood bowl was placed in front of me. It had tuna, shrimp, scallops, eel, egg, squid, flying fish roe, gizzard shad, and sea bream(?). The lunch price was a great deal for this quality. The chef was also efficient and had a good vibe. I will definitely come back next time to try the sushi!

I used it for dinner. The restaurant was quite crowded with foreign customers, probably because it was located inside the station. I ordered sushi and sake, and added a fatty tuna roll. I thought it was a place where people eat quickly and move on to their next destination due to its location.

Negitoro Donburi for 550 yen. Today, I had breakfast in Nippori. I tried to debut at Ichiyusoba, but there was a long line. Since this stand-up soba shop is open 24 hours, I can come back when it's less crowded. So, I decided to skip it today. I returned to Nippori Station and found a place inside the station where you can have sushi for breakfast. I entered at 7:15 am, there were 2 customers already seated, and no one else came in after me. The breakfast menu had two options: Negitoro Donburi for 550 yen and a sushi assortment for 750 yen. I ordered the Negitoro Donburi and it came out in about a minute. It was topped generously with negitoro, with a little bit of pickled ginger on the side. I poured soy sauce over it and enjoyed it. The miso soup with tofu and seaweed was also good. The portion size was just right for someone like me who has a small appetite. I then took the Joban Line to Ueno Station. It was a delicious meal. Used for breakfast on June 30, 2023. Rating: 3.28

I came to Nippori Station because I heard that you can have sushi for breakfast starting at 7 am. There is a place called Sushi Koji Kyoto inside the EKIMISE, but the sushi costs 750 yen. It seems to be run by Kyoto Taru. The quality of the sushi matches the price. The miso soup was the most delicious part. With the entrance fee, it cost me 900 yen in total. Other than being open from 7 am, I didn't find any other reasons to revisit.

A small restaurant with counter seats inside Nippori Station. They offer a negitoro bowl with miso soup for only 550 yen until 10 am. The bowl has plenty of rice and generous portions of negitoro. While it may not compare to high-end sushi restaurants, the taste is still good. The service is quick and the staff are friendly. I saw a foreign customer asking to microwave their negitoro bowl, and the staff kindly accommodated the request. I was surprised to see a foreign customer there, but it's a nice and accommodating place. It's great for a quick meal before moving on. Definitely worth a try for a high-value breakfast option when you need a boost!

I used this sushi restaurant when transferring at Nippori Station. It's quite rare and convenient to have a sushi restaurant inside the ticket gate. I ordered a seafood bowl at the dining booth next to the takeout shop. It was okay, not as delicious as I expected. It felt like conveyor belt sushi. The convenience is good, so I might use it again if I have the chance.

I arrived early at Ecute inside Nippori Station for some morning shopping. When I tried to have coffee, I noticed a sushi restaurant tucked away in a corner. They had a morning special of nigiri sushi for 650 yen! It turned out to be a Kyoto Taru restaurant, and the sushi was made right in front of me with tea and soup included. It was amazing to have sushi for breakfast at this price. Thank you for the meal.

Kyotaru, an Ekinaka sushi restaurant operated by a traditional Kaiseki cuisine restaurant in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. Despite the uncertain management situation similar to Yoshinoya changing its parent company to Sushiro, the cost performance was high. I ordered the seafood bowl and it was delicious. If I come to Nippori again, I would like to visit here.

I visited the restaurant during a weekday while waiting for the Skyliner. It's a small place with only counter seats. I ordered the lunch nigiri set for 840 yen. As you can see in the photo, the sushi toppings are quite ordinary, but I also enjoyed the maki rolls, tamagoyaki, and steamed shrimp which I don't usually eat. The miso soup that came with it was also delicious. For this price, having counter sushi made me very satisfied. I think the other menu items are reasonably priced as well. There were also elderly regular customers, and I could feel the thoughtful service of understanding their preferences, which is typical of a local sushi restaurant.

I couldn't come to this restaurant often because it's located inside a JR station, and it's usually crowded with commuters in the morning, making it a hassle to move around inside the station. The interior with only counter seats is clean and surprisingly cozy. The staff brought me hot tea, and I ordered the following: - Negitoro Don (480 yen) The staff started preparing my order promptly and also activated the miso soup machine to serve both the donburi and miso soup at the same time. The appearance of the dish was worth more than its price, and the vinegared rice was just right in texture. The negitoro topping had a good flavor and went well with the rice, making me want to eat it all up. The tea and miso soup were piping hot, and although the amount of rice was a bit too much for my appetite, I enjoyed every bite and left the restaurant feeling satisfied.

I visited around 8:00 on Saturday and had a negitoro donburi for 490 yen. There was one customer before me and no customers after me. There was one staff member in the eat-in area, but including the person making takeout orders, there were three staff members in total. It is a part of the Kyoto Taru Group, so I felt very reassured.

◆Morning Negitoro Donburi 490 yen (tax included) I had been wanting to visit this brand operated by my favorite restaurant, Kyoto Taru, and my expectations were met. The environment is perfect for enjoying a refreshing breakfast. The staff, all women, provided excellent service. The hot tea was a nice touch. The negitoro donburi arrived promptly, accompanied by miso soup. Despite being tube-style negitoro, the portion was generous and delicious. The combination of vinegared rice and negitoro was excellent. The miso soup was flavorful with Wakame seaweed and fried tofu. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of the food and the affordable price of 490 yen. I look forward to visiting again, perhaps for dinner next time.

I discovered a new concept by the Kyotaru Group inside ecute Nippori on a regular morning. I arrived around 9:40 and noticed that there were 7 seats at the counter in the eat-in area. I was lured in by the limited-time offer of "Morning Sushi Assortment for 638 yen" until 10:00, and before I knew it, I was seated at the counter. On the table, there were soy sauce, chopsticks, soy sauce dish, and a paper towel already set up. After sitting down, hot tea was served. So, this time, I ordered the "Morning Sushi Assortment for 638 yen". The food was served over the counter in about 5 minutes. On the sushi geta, there were 7 pieces of nigiri and a negitoro roll. The quality was much higher than expected, pleasantly surprising! With miso soup with seaweed and wheat gluten included in the set for 638 yen, I think it's the best cost performance for breakfast! Whenever I use Nippori Station before 10:00, I feel like I'll end up repeating this experience every time. By the way, the head chef and the staff's service were also very good. I'm looking forward to the future of Kyotaru, which has joined the Sushiro Group, at Sushi Kojiro Kyoto. Please visit at least once!

Sushi restaurant inside ecute at Nippori Station (inside the ticket gate). They have a counter for eating in and open from the morning. They offer a variety of takeout options that you can buy without waiting. --- I had to take an early trip on the Joban Line for some errands. It was before 7 am, but the sushi restaurant inside ecute was already open. I thought they only did takeout, but they also had seating for dining in. I tried the morning sushi set for 638 yen, which included 7 pieces including ikura gunkan and hosomaki, along with miso soup. The sushi was on the smaller side, but the toppings were a bit thick. The rice had good stickiness and the grains stuck together well. The pickled ginger was tangy, and the vinegar on the shad had a bit of sweetness. Overall, it was a great option for affordable sushi in the morning.

I had a morning sushi assortment for 638 yen at the sushi restaurant inside JR Ecute, called Kyoto Taru. The chef is from Kyoto. Thank you for a pleasant morning. They also offer takeout. I learned that Kyoto Taru used to be part of the Yoshinoya group but is now part of the Sushiro group.

On the last day of my business trip to Tsudanuma, I finished work early in the morning and on my way back home on the Keisei Line, I had lunch at Nippori Station. I remembered seeing this restaurant on my way back from Tsudanuma last time and thought it looked delicious. I visited around 11:30 am on a weekday, and the place was already full of customers. I waited for a while as they cleaned up. I sat down, looked at the menu, and ordered the lunch seafood bowl with extra rice. It arrived quickly, and it looked very good. It seems that the company managing Kyotaru and Misaki Port is running this place. So I was a little worried about whether it was authentic sushi. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The scallops, tuna, and shrimp were all tasty. And for 858 yen, it was quite a deal. I also found out at the time of payment that the extra rice was a complimentary service. Even though the portion was a bit small, it was satisfying to have a quick and delicious meal in the station during my work commute. I was curious about the 5-piece shellfish assortment.

Attracted by the high cost performance, I had two days of gratitude and combined reviews! Wallet-friendly but high-level sushi. As expected from the Kyotaru Group (^ ^)v Nowadays, cheap sushi is lined up at supermarkets and such as a matter of course, but the quality of the fish is just average... It may not reach the level of a local sushi restaurant, but having this level in the station area is a delight. Takeout options are also abundant, and here, without miso soup, it's even more affordable. Yesterday's order: Tuna assortment with miso soup ¥1,078 (tax included). Today's order: Tuna assortment with miso soup ¥1,078 (tax included) + Single item: Fresh baby sardine gunkan sushi ¥220 (tax included). I thought having tuna assortment two days in a row was a bit much, but it's delicious so why not, I thought as I glanced at the pickled ginger. I added a single item of fresh baby sardine gunkan sushi for a palate cleanser. With improved distribution, you can now eat fresh baby sardines without having to go to Shizuoka. I'm grateful for that too. Isn't it amazing how the level of delicious food you can eat in the station area has been rising recently? In these times when it's difficult to travel, it was a moment to feel a small joy. Thank you for the meal. I'll be back!
