I came here after a long time. It's a popular place, so sharing a table is inevitable. The reason why it's popular here is probably because smoking is allowed, which is rare. Everyone here seems to be smoking, but these days electronic cigarettes or smokeless cigarettes are more common. Well, I just came here because I love the food. Let's eat quickly. Just keep in mind that it might take a bit of time for the food to be served due to its popularity. - Curry Fried Rice ¥650 I ended up ordering this again. I came here for this dish. The sunny side up egg is looking at me with an erotic gaze. Today, there is a faint taste and aroma of ketchup. I can slightly taste the flavor of chicken rice. Wasn't it like this with the Curry Fried Rice before? Maybe just using garam masala would be enough. The rice has a lot of moisture. Breaking the yolk of the sunny side up egg and letting it run over the rice. It goes well with the spices of the rice. But I still can't help but notice the taste of ketchup. Thank you for the meal. As I was about to leave after finishing my meal, a new customer whispered to the owner, "With curry sauce on top." Curry sauce? What's that? I stood up with the intention of paying and walked towards the wall menu at the back of the restaurant. The owner seemed flustered. Looking at the menu... ah, this one! Half rice, half spaghetti with curry sauce on top. It was there. Next time, I will definitely order that. Decision made.

I tried the omuspaghetti. It wraps soba rice in an egg, and the ratio of soba to rice is perfect. The portion size may be a bit small, but it's a great deal for 650 yen. They are smoker-friendly and you can smoke both regular and heated cigarettes at your seat. They are open from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm, and it's relatively easy to find a seat after 1:00 pm. Be sure to stop by!

Great value for money. For 650 yen, you get a serving of pasta and rice with two eggs. The taste is reminiscent of curry from a Showa-era coffee shop, giving it a nostalgic flavor. It's a smoking-friendly place, making it a rare find for smokers. Definitely worth a try!

Located behind the 11th building of Ohara Gakuen along Mizutobashi Nishi Street is the café Delica Hobnob. Inside the café, there are 3 tables (4 seats, 6 seats, 4 seats) and 2 counter seats facing the road on both sides of the entrance. The counter seats have glass windows, making them look like terrace seats from the outside. I visited the café early in the morning at 7:30 am to try their morning set. Despite just opening, there were already 5 solo customers inside. The café was full, so I hesitated, but the owner gestured for me to share a table with 6 seats. On the table, there were condiments such as Tabasco, salt, Parmesan cheese, sauce, and soy sauce. The menu was hanging between the kitchen and the dining area, with drink menu, food menu, and morning set menu. The morning set menu allows you to add items like toast, sandwiches, rice balls, fried eggs, and salad to your coffee or tea for an additional cost. I ordered coffee (200 yen) and ham toast (180 yen). The ham toast consisted of two slices of toast with ham, cucumber slices, and mayonnaise in between. The crispy toast was cut into squares and was delicious. The coffee was light and not bad. The café had a nostalgic feel of old-fashioned student cafes, although all the customers at that time were middle-aged men.

I learned about this restaurant from Tabelog runner Fabriano. It is located right next to the popular TGS restaurant "Uchisoba." It is a cafe that opens at 7:30 am. When I arrived at 7:38 am, there were already two customers inside. I ordered the "Curry Spaghetti" (550 yen), "Egg Toast" (180 yen), and "Hot Coffee" (200 yen). The curry spaghetti reminded me of my mother's cooking, with a slightly thick and medium-spicy curry. The egg toast was generously seasoned with salt and was surprisingly affordable at 180 yen. The coffee was a traditional style coffee. The regular customers who came later ordered a unique combination of ham and eggs with ice coffee. Another reviewer friend ordered a dish with half rice and half spaghetti topped with curry and two fried eggs. As the restaurant started to get crowded, I paid 930 yen and left. The master quickly cleaned up the table.

This café is known for serving meal menus starting from 7:30 in the morning. Spaghetti, fried rice, omurice... classic café menu items are available, and the master efficiently prepares them quickly. I was initially hesitant to order something like Napolitan in the morning, but there was no need to worry. The Napolitan here has a gentle flavor, with a mild taste of ketchup. The chewy noodles, moderate amount of bacon and onions, all for only 550 yen, which is quite reasonable. The carbonara available in the morning leans towards a white sauce flavor, but has a unique taste to it. This dish also comes with plenty of diced bacon for 550 yen. Despite being able to order pasta in the morning, this café is not all about heavy meals. You can also order a regular morning set. Additionally, there are various single item menus priced below 200 yen, allowing you to customize your morning set. You can choose from 200 yen coffee or tea, toast starting from 130 yen, sandwiches from 220 yen, and even onigiri for 110 yen. The egg options include ham and egg, bacon and egg, and scrambled eggs. The egg toast has a slightly soft filling and is quite filling. The tea is served in a pot with enough for 2.5 cups, and the cup is warmed before serving. The coffee is light and easy to drink. The tea here seems to be a good deal. This café is great for hearty meals in the morning as well as for lunch. The daily lunch specials feature Western-style dishes like hamburger, fried food, and ginger pork. The original omusupa here is a dish where noodles and rice are mixed and wrapped in egg. The sauce flavor is similar to sobameshi but with a different texture. The taste is lightly seasoned and satisfying. The fried rice is more like a homemade dish rather than a Chinese-style one, and it has a good flavor. The curry is a classic Japanese taste, not like a ready-made pack, and is well-prepared. The curry and meat sauce can be mixed with rice and pasta, making it a carb lover's dream. When you order the mix, you also get two fried eggs, making it a great deal. Overall, this café offers quick service, affordable prices, and consistently good flavors. You can even get a large serving for an extra 100 yen. Highly recommended for those who want a hearty meal.

A cafe located in a small alley near Yasukuni Street, between Suitengumae and Jinbocho. It's more of a smoking-friendly oasis than a typical cafe. The interior is clean with counter and table seating, and a neat kitchen. They open early in the morning, offering a surprisingly wide range of food options. The Tarako Cream Spaghetti is delicious with a well-balanced flavor. The service is quick, almost as if they soak the pasta in water. It's nice to see the various efforts put into this independently-owned shop. The attitude of the owner, or whoever runs the place, is also charming!

Delica Knob @ Nishikanda Park (Nishikanda 2-chome) is open from 7:30 in the morning. I have passed by countless times before, thinking it was just a coffee shop. However, I recently discovered the word Delica in the store name. In my generation, when you say Delica, the first thing that comes to mind is the Eurasian Delicatessen in Roppongi. It was a wonderful shop. I remember enjoying a large serving of spaghetti with meat sauce there. The elderly couple who run the place are busy cooking up the spaghetti in a sizzling pan. The appearance of the dish is impressive, perfect for a student town. The fork, reminiscent of "Flamenco," is a bit tricky to use, but the meat sauce with tomato front is likely pre-made, which doesn't matter because this kind of meat sauce is just how it should be. I have a particular fondness for this kind of dish. The restaurant allows smoking, but you can easily check for any smoke nuisance from the outside thanks to the glass facade. Next time, I'll try the curry spaghetti with an additional fried egg on top!

A popular restaurant among men, serving fried rice and one-plate meals. The narrow counter allows diners to watch the street while eating, making it a unique experience. I decided to try something different since I rarely visit such cafes. I ordered a dish with half spaghetti and half rice topped with curry for 650 yen. Although I received a meat sauce version with two fried eggs on top, I was quickly brought the curry version. The curry was rich and flavorful, possibly with cheese mixed in. It paired well with both pasta and rice, and the two fried eggs added a nice touch. It was a moment where you can truly appreciate the greatness of carbohydrates. I wish they had included some slices of bread as well. This cafe has proven that even soft spaghetti can be delicious. I wonder what their fried rice tastes like?

During the release of the review for the pickled dish, I was wandering around trying to decide where to have lunch and came across this place. It seemed quite popular and crowded, so I decided to visit. I found a seat at the counter facing the street and placed my order. I ordered the curry fried rice. The dish came with two sunny-side-up eggs on top, which made me happy. The visual presentation was all brown with no vegetables, giving it a homely taste like a cafe. It was not exceptionally delicious, but the price of 650 yen was reasonable. I enjoy this kind of homely cafe lunch.

Countdown to summer vacation, but work is still busy as usual. Managed to squeeze in a lunch break. Lately, I've been going towards Suidobashi Station, so this time I headed towards Jinbocho. It's a 6-minute walk from my office to a coffee shop. Despite passing by the shop many times, this was my first visit. I arrived at 11:30. There was one group of 3 customers already there, and 2 groups of 6 customers arrived after me. The shop is small and narrow, with only 3 tables that can seat 6 people each. There are also 4 counter seats facing the window, but it's a bit cramped to eat a meal there. I chose a table for 6 near the edge. The menu is not displayed at the entrance or on the table, only on the wall between the kitchen. I had seen photos from a reviewer beforehand, so I knew what to order. I ordered the fried rice for 550 yen, which was surprisingly cheap. I could hear the sound of the wok from the kitchen. The fried rice was served in about 3 minutes. It was light in color with eggs, ham, and lots of onions. It was a generous portion, different from the fried rice at a Chinese restaurant. The taste was light, with a moist texture. The onions were soft and well-cooked, adding a sweetness to the fried rice. It was easy to eat and had a good amount of volume. Unfortunately, it didn't come with soup. I thought about ordering an iced coffee for 200 yen, but I felt like I should head back to work soon, so I left after finishing the fried rice. The lady in charge was very kind, noticing my empty water glass and refilling it without me saying anything. I asked for half a glass, but she poured a full glass (laughs). It was a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the coffee shop, and I hope they continue to operate for a long time. Thank you for the meal.

Today's special: Curry Fried Rice for 650 yen. I decided to try this place because it was already late for lunch and they serve food throughout the day. As I entered, I saw people enjoying their afternoon nap at individual four-person tables. Some were reading newspapers, manga, or playing with their phones while leisurely smoking cigarettes. It felt like a nostalgic coffee shop atmosphere. The place had a clean and comfortable ambiance without feeling too old-fashioned. They offer a variety of menu items from morning till night, including toast and sandwiches. Their recommended dishes like Omurice, omelettes, and Napolitan looked tempting, but I couldn't resist ordering the Curry Fried Rice when I saw it on the menu. I love curry and fried rice, so why not try them together? Two sunny-side-up eggs on top of the dish caught my attention immediately. It looked almost seductive. The Curry Fried Rice underneath was delicious, although it wasn't as spicy as I expected. The taste of curry powder wasn't prominent, and it leaned more towards turmeric fried rice. The half-cooked eggs added a mildness to the dish, balancing out the flavors. While I had imagined a fried rice with a stronger curry flavor, this dish was still undeniably tasty. I will definitely come back, maybe next time to try their popular Omurice. There are many good restaurants in this area, including Hobnob. I might also try their toast sandwich next time. Nearest station: Jimbocho Station (Chiyoda Ward) Visit time: 13:40 Waiting time: 0 minutes

It's a popular Western-style set meal restaurant among salarymen and students. The portions are surprisingly large, especially for women. The omu-spa rice dish was incredibly hefty, probably equivalent to about three bowls of rice. The price was around 500-600 yen, which is a great deal for the amount of food. I also had coffee during a break, which cost around 200 yen for an iced coffee. They allow smoking, making it a relaxing spot for salarymen. The restaurant closes at 4 pm, catering to that customer base.
