I got off at Nakano-Sakaue Station before noon. I walked to a building with a restaurant area on the right side after exiting the ticket gate, and went to Marugame Seimen. There were about 5-6 people in line, but I joined at the end and it only took about 5 minutes until I paid. I ordered a kake udon, tempura, and inari sushi on a tray, which cost 690 yen. My sore throat was getting better, so I added plenty of ginger and green onions for their anti-inflammatory properties before eating. The tempura was big and satisfying, with onions as the main ingredient. When I put it in the udon bowl, it almost covered the whole thing. The broth was a bit on the light side. The ginger dissolved in the soup, giving it a slightly punchier flavor. The noodles were chewy and delicious. If you're looking for a quick lunch in Nakano-Sakaue, this place is a good choice.

I wandered around looking for a place to eat after finding out my intended restaurant was closed. Feeling hungry and wanting something to warm me up, I stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. I think it's been about five years since I last visited a chain store like this. I ordered the egg and ankake udon, which was made right in front of me by the waitress boiling the noodles and pouring the broth over them. I also got a side of kashiwa tempura, all for only 660 yen, which is a great deal. The noodles had a great texture and the tempura was deliciously soft. The cost performance was excellent. I always admire the efforts of chain stores. I left feeling satisfied.

The meat and egg tempura with sauce was delicious, especially the large portion. The tempura with shrimp and chicken were also tasty. Marugame Udon is the best udon place I've been to. The meat was plentiful and well seasoned, and the sweet flavor went well with the green onions. I added a lot of green onions to the leftover soup, and it didn't overpower the spiciness of the onions. Personally, I felt like I was eating vegetables. The tempura broth dispenser was not in its usual place, but when I told the staff, they gave it to me.

I hadn't been to Marugame Seimen in a while, so I went there recently. I ordered the Tomatama Curry Udon that they were promoting, as well as the cold Bukkake Udon with tempura. The Tomatama Curry Udon was spicier than I expected, but quite delicious. The cold Bukkake Udon had a good texture and the flavorful sauce was consistently tasty. The tempura, especially the chicken, was freshly fried and hot, which made it very delicious!

During a break from work, I decided to try the curry udon at Marugame Seimen that I had been curious about. I also ordered croquettes and my favorite chikuwa isobeage as side dishes. The isobeage turned out to be a half portion, which was smaller than I expected. The curry was pretty good, but it would have been easier to eat with a spoon or fork, which I couldn't find. The noodles were soft, which I think worked well with the curry. The Tomatama Curry Udon came with a side of mini rice. Overall, the Tomatama Curry Udon was 690 yen, croquettes were 120 yen, and the half portion of chikuwa isobeage was 70 yen.

Visited for lunch on a Saturday. Located in a building directly connected to Nakano-Sakaue Station, I had never been here before. Around noon, the restaurant was filled with business people on their lunch break. I ordered the Tori-Tama Udon for 490 yen, with Chikuwa and Squid Tempura as toppings. They have chopped green onions available for you to add as much as you like, which is nice. The noodles didn't have a strong firmness, but it reminded me of the udon I had at a local shop in Kagawa, so I assume it's the average firmness for authentic udon. Tempura goes really well with udon. It was delicious. For those who want to quickly enjoy tasty udon near Nakano-Sakaue Station, this place is a convenient choice. Since it's close to my home, I would like to visit again when the opportunity arises.

Saturday, 6°C, sunny. It's 11:50 and the office building is empty, so I thought it would be a good time to visit. As expected, it's empty. They don't have "meat udon" or "oyster and egg over rice". I ordered "egg and sauce over rice for ¥460". Do you want chikuwa tempura for ¥70 or burdock tempura for ¥70 on a plate? I added some self-serve green onions and now I'm ready to enjoy. The egg soup is warming me up. Since it's in the basement of an office building, they don't offer complicated dishes here.

Just a 30-second walk from Nakano-Sakaue Station! On rainy days, you can quickly escape the rain and enjoy Marugame Seimen in the Nakano-Sakaue Sunbright Twin Building. I used to frequent this place around 3 PM for lunch when I worked nearby. The photo shows the Kake Udon (290 yen). You can add green onions and tempura flakes at the self-service corner. The udon noodles have a nice texture and are delicious. It's so affordable and convenient to eat quickly in between busy work tasks.

After a long time, I went to the popular and affordable Marugame Seimen for some udon noodles. [Ordered Dish] - Taru Chicken Tempura Udon (Large) for 800 yen I tried the all-time No.1 favorite dish at Marugame Seimen, the Taru Chicken Tempura Udon. It came with 4 pieces of chicken tempura and a rich tar sauce on top, offering a satisfyingly large portion. The noodles were the usual chewy and springy type, which paired perfectly with the chicken tempura.

For lunch, I decided to go for udon noodles and walked to Nakano-Sakaue Station. The original shop I wanted to visit was closed until the 15th, so I ended up going to this place instead. It was around 12:20 pm on a weekday and there was a long line of about 20 people, but I knew it would move quickly so I decided to wait. Five minutes later, I was inside the shop ordering the special menu item: Butter Soy Sauce Kamatama Udon (large) (570 yen) with mentaiko (70 yen) and kashiwa tempura (150 yen)! They also served complimentary tempura bits and plenty of green onions on top. The udon, being large, was quite filling with a nice chewy texture and stretchiness. It was better than some other udon places I've been to. The rich aroma and flavor of the butter, along with the mentaiko, were a great combination. The freshly fried kashiwa tempura was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, very delicious. I finished my meal in about 10 minutes and when I left, there were only 3 people waiting in line. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

This Marugame Seimen had a different atmosphere as they employed Southeast Asian foreign workers. ## Evaluation I ordered the limited Beef Belly Udon Regular for 630 yen. I actually wanted to order the Large for 740 yen, but it was sold out, so I settled for the Regular. There was more beef than I expected, and I was able to enjoy the taste of the meat. However, overall, the quantity was a bit lacking. If you just want to fill your stomach, you can go for the Kamaage Regular for 290 yen plus rice for Tendon for 140 yen, totaling 430 yen, so it was a bit disappointing that for an additional 200 yen, the quantity was not enough. Also, the chairs were slightly torn, which somehow compromised the cleanliness of the interior. The foreign employees were working hard and actually left a better impression on me than the Japanese staff, but the compromised cleanliness of the interior was disappointing. ## Conclusion This was my second visit to a Marugame Seimen in the Nakano area. It is conveniently located near Nakano-Sakaue Station, so I personally thought it would be the restaurant I would frequent the most in the Nakano area. I would like to visit again for dinner or lunch if the timing is right.

I was invited by a friend to try hot yoga and it turned out better than I expected, making me want to go back again. The studio is called HOTLUX and it is located within Tipness, a fitness expert. The studio offers a new style of fitness facility incorporating the natural power of Mt. Fuji lava baths. Despite my initial impression that Tipness might cater to an older age group, it was actually quite welcoming. However, given the current situation, I was a bit concerned about the number of people at the gym. The hot yoga studio had a maximum of 4 participants, including the instructor, maintaining a safe distance. The studio also took breaks for floor disinfection. The hot yoga experience was different from what I had tried before, as the studio used heated lava plates to warm the room, which felt more comfortable than traditional heaters. Although it was still intense, the sweat felt refreshing. After the session, I enjoyed a simple and affordable udon meal with chicken tempura, which was satisfying. The restaurant, Marugame Seimen, offered a good dining experience.

It's been about 10 years since I last visited Marugame. I chose it as a place where I wouldn't get wet because it was raining (lol). This is my first time at the Nakano Sakagami store. I had a warm bukkake udon with shrimp tempura, squid tempura, and fish cake tempura. I was thinking of trying the mixed tempura for the first time, but I remember that Marugame's tempura was full of onions, so I decided not to (lol).

On the 1st of every month, it's "Kama-age Udon Day" and Kama-age Udon is half price. The (large) size is usually 400 yen, so today it is 200 yen. In addition, I added Chikuwa Tempura for 120 yen, making the total 320 yen. I had Kama-age Udon at Marugame Seimen for the first time in a while, but the noodles were long. Isn't it a bit too long? Even when I tried to lift it with chopsticks and raise my arm as high as I could, I couldn't lift it all. The taste is just delicious. It's nice that you can freely take as much green onions and tempura crumbs as you want. I was satisfied with 320 yen!

I went to Marugame Tsukimi Festival and ordered one serving of my favorite "Kamatama" which came with an additional serving for free. I ordered the "Spicy Meat Kamatama (regular)" for 640 yen. The staff asked if I wanted an extra serving of Kamatama, to which I replied yes. After ordering, I paid a total of 640 yen after deducting 360 yen for the additional Kamatama. I then added green onions and tempura flakes to my bowl at the counter and sat down. I started with the Spicy Meat Kamatama, which had a perfect balance of spicy meat sauce and a mild onsen egg. It was just the right level of spiciness for me. I ended up with extra meat sauce, so I poured it over the extra Kamatama, creating a second serving. With the added green onions and tempura flakes, I finished both servings. In the end, I was able to enjoy two servings of Spicy Meat Kamatama for only 640 yen, making it a very good deal. If you have a big appetite, you can easily finish two servings.

I visited this place connected to Nakanosakaue Station. The BGM is guitar music. I ordered "kake udon" with cold broth. It was served quickly with plenty of green onions and tempura crumbs on top. There were many counter seats, and there were a lot of solo diners.

For lunch, I went to Marugame Seimen near my workplace. I tried their special dish for this week only (until February 25, 2019), which was udon topped with egg sauce, ao-nori seaweed, and bonito flakes. The aroma of the ao-nori seaweed was very inviting and increased my appetite. Lately, some stores have been offering weekly specials, which shows they are making an effort to be creative. This week's dish was better than last week's spicy cod roe topping, as the combination of udon broth, egg sauce, and ao-nori worked really well together and was delicious.

Today's highlight is the delicious oyster season. Oysters are in season and there are various dishes like oyster fry, oyster hot pot, oyster gratin, vinegar oysters, and fresh oysters. As a fan of oysters, I was intrigued by the seasonal limited menu item "Oyster Topped Udon" at Marugame Seimen. I usually visit for the weekly rice bowl day on Wednesdays, but due to a long meeting, I ended up visiting the same restaurant in the basement of the building. The dish features six plump oysters in a slightly sweet egg and oyster broth, which is quite exquisite. I've decided, let's have our department's year-end party at the oyster shack in Nakano.

I chose "World History" as the history subject for my university entrance exam, simply because I thought it would be easier. Back then, 40 years ago, there were no standardized tests like the Center Exam, and each university had its own set of subjects and questions for the entrance exam. So, the red textbooks that covered past exam questions were like a bible for us. However, my interest in Japanese history grew after becoming a working adult. Learning about the thoughts and actions of past figures is very enlightening for navigating through life. I am particularly drawn to the warlords of the Warring States period because in times of chaos, strategies and information are crucial, and making the right alliances can determine success or failure. In this sense, the Battle of Sekigahara serves as a good example. I am looking forward to watching the movie "Sekigahara" after studying the relationships between the warlords. After seeing a TV commercial for Marugame Seimen, I decided to invite my wife to try it out after watching a movie. We went to the Marugame Seimen Nakano Sakagami store, which was located just a two-minute walk from Nakano Sakagami Station. I ordered the Spicy Meat Tsuke Udon for 690 yen. The dish was beautifully presented with spicy meat on top of cold udon, garnished with green onions and shredded seaweed. The meat was incredibly flavorful with a spicy broth, and the udon was long and chewy, making it a bit challenging to eat. However, the delicious taste made up for the difficulty. The cold udon paired perfectly with the flavorful dipping sauce, soft boiled egg, and tasty beef topping. The generous amount of shredded seaweed added an extra depth of flavor. Overall, the dish was satisfying and delicious, and I look forward to trying seasonal items in the future.

Marugame Seimen - Tan Tan Mazekama Udon (Regular) The popular "Tan Tan Mazekama Udon" that was released in 2021 is back! And in 2022, it comes with a "one-bite rice"!? You can mix the generous amount of spicy tan tan meat miso, white leeks, powdered bonito, and onsen tamago (hot spring egg) in a hearty manner. The accents of black ma oil and chili oil are irresistible ♡ I topped it with complimentary green onions, fried tempura crumbs, shichimi spice, and sesame seeds♪ And let's not forget the one-bite rice. You can pour the ingredients over rice, mix it in a bowl, or top it with green onions, tempura crumbs, and sesame seeds. I enjoyed it all the way to the end♪ Don't forget to get a ladle at the register (for one-bite rice). Chikuwa tempura and burdock tempura were not available, which was disappointing. It's been a while since I visited Marugame Seimen, but the taste was consistently delicious♪ Thank you for the meal ^_^
