They have simple breads. - Japanese white bread: 415 yen - Country bread: 340 yen - Wednesday discount: 10% off, total 690 yen with bag fee I paid with PayPay. The mountain bread is quite chewy and sweet. The country bread has a crispy texture, like a mix of mountain bread and baguette. I prefer the mountain bread.

I had a quick breakfast by buying some bread in the morning because I had to go to work. I went to Seian at Daimaru Umeda. It's a bakery located in Daimaru Umeda B2. They have a variety of breads, so it was hard to choose. This time, I bought a ham and onion croissant. It had a nice buttery flavor and the cheese on top was also good. Inside, there were ham and onions, so it was more filling than it looked. I would like to try other breads next time. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious about this bakery known for its natural yeast bread for a while. They have multiple locations in upscale areas like Kitashinchi, Daimaru Umeda, and Nakanoshima Daibiru. I thought they would be expensive, but surprisingly, most of their bread is priced between 180 to 290 yen. The description on their country bread (regular soft French bread) says, "This is the bread that defines bread." It truly lives up to that description with just the right fluffiness, chewiness, and a perfect balance of saltiness. Another popular item is the "Kubele," a sweet brioche with a fluffy texture that crumbles easily, topped with a bit of biscuit dough and nuts. It's magical and addictive. I also enjoyed the "Black Cocoa Nut Bread," with a firm cocoa-colored dough filled with crunchy nuts. It's not chocolate-flavored, but has a rich cocoa aroma. Overall, the bakery maintains high quality and level of craftsmanship. They don't do much advertising, but you can trust that you won't be disappointed when you buy their products. I had a delicious experience.

Tabelog 3.57, Seian in Umeda, Daimaru Umeda store. I visited after work, but around 7:30 pm, there was almost nothing left to buy. I looked for something in the Daimaru basement, and ended up buying the remaining bread. - Five Grain Harvest Bread (205 yen) This bread is made with brown rice flour and contains Camembert cheese. This was a surprising find! The chewiness and aroma of the bread, the richness and sweetness of the Camembert cheese, and the addition of sweet red bean paste all come together to create an incredibly delicious combination! This bread was a lucky find. I think it's an excellent bread that can be enjoyed as a meal or as a snack.

After a long time, I went shopping at Daimaru and stopped by a bakery called "Seian" on the B2F floor. This time, I bought two types of fried bread, one with croissant dough filled with stretchy Camembert cheese cream. It had just the right amount of oil and the richness of the cheese made it delicious. Even in the summer when my appetite is low, I could keep eating it. The other one was a fried bread made from melon bread dough. I used to like their Andonuts, but couldn't find them this time, so I tried this donut instead. I've been feeling tired since yesterday, so I seemed to be craving the sweetness of this donut, and with each bite, it felt like my body was absorbing it more and more. Bakeries in department stores are convenient as you can do various shopping in one place, and they never disappoint.

This place is famous for its shokupan and cheese bread. Ambattre Franse is the third most popular item priced at ¥216. The most popular item is the natural yeast shokupan. Natural yeast bread shops are rare nationwide. A kind female staff member shared a delicious way to eat it. She recommends warming it up for 20 seconds! This will melt the butter just right and make it very delicious. Personally, I still prefer eating anpan with milk.

Located on the B2 floor of Daimaru Umeda store. Visited on a holiday afternoon. Walnut and apple bread 160 yen + tax: "A bread dough sprinkled with walnuts and wrapped in syrup-soaked apples." Oval shaped bread. You can see the apples through the window on top. The apples are crispy. The walnuts are crunchy. The sweetness of the apples is subtle. NEW Cream bread 190 yen: "Baked a smooth dough made with Yotsuba butter and egg yolks, and wrapped it generously with custard cream handmade at our own factory." Cylinder shaped. Soft. High-quality dough and cream. Seian's butter roll 80 yen: "You can taste the butter flavor directly and enjoy the chewy texture, it is a moist butter roll." It was very delicious. Upon checking their website, they use natural yeast to make their bread. They have stores in Shinsaibashi main store (with a workshop), Daimaru Umeda store, Nakanoshima store, and Kinki University store.

Due to the state of emergency declaration, department stores in Umeda have closed. It feels like a completely different town. Recently, when the department stores were still open, I compared the bread from here and the neighboring Paul Bocuse. I remembered how delicious the bread was at Seian's shop in Nakanoshima before, so this time I bought the edamame and cheese bread. Since it's a side dish type, I paired it with Cava. It's delicious on its own, but it was a tasty combination. It's a shame that I can't go buy it now. I wonder how long this will last?

Recently, I couldn't find any melon pan with a crispy crust, so I went on a quest for melon pan... (laughs) I bought melon pan from Seian for the first time in a while. The melon pan was quite large, but this time I bought a regular-sized one. The texture of the melon pan dough was good. Oh! It's hard, really hard. The firmness was just right. This is the kind of melon pan I like. The inside dough was also delicious, and I finished it all. Also, I like hard bread these days, so I chose a firm bread. The chestnut and cranberry bread had large chestnuts scattered throughout, giving it a rich sweetness. The sweet and sour red cranberries paired well with it. So delicious! Brioche dough shaped into a square. The cream has a tangy flavor with lots of vanilla. Dutch cheese bread for 259 yen. The cheese cream is delicious. It would have been better if it was reheated.

The shop's shelves are filled with various types of bread, such as five-color bean bread, cherry blossom anpan, mugwort bread, country bread, honey toast, pain au levain, 50-hour toast... among others. I chose the bread made from five grains, which has a chewy texture with brown rice flour kneaded into the dough. It is filled with plenty of camembert-style cheese and red beans. Next time, I plan to try walnut rye bread and yogurt rye bread, as well as craft cheese bread.

I found this homemade yeast bread shop at Daimaru Umeda Store, B2F. It is located at the corner with two other bakeries on either side. While the other shops are also nice, I was drawn to the calm and natural yeast atmosphere of this shop. I purchased 5 different types of bread. I don't know the prices of the bread other than the sandwich bread, but all were around 200 yen each. The 50-hour fermented bread for 1,080 yen is popular these days. I have tried several high-end sandwich breads before, but this one was the most delicious I have ever had. It has a good elasticity and layers like Danish pastry, with a hint of sweetness. It was really delicious even when toasted. Recently, the trend in high-end sandwich bread seems to be soft and fluffy all the way to the crust, but I prefer a firmer and crispy crust. I hesitated because 1,000 yen is quite expensive, but buying it was definitely the right choice. The croissant made with natural yeast was also deliciously rich. The red bean chocolate dutch pancake donut-shaped bread has a satisfying texture and is filled with red bean paste and chocolate. Either one alone would be fine! The bacon cheese epi cheese bread has a crispy epi shape and a lemon-flavored cream inside. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

Here at the basement 2 floor of Daimaru Umeda store, there are three bakeries lined up, and I bought a light meal from one of them today. I got a gratin and a sausage. The gratin is filled with plenty of ingredients like chicken in a pie crust. Next, the sausage, while not too big, tastes great with mustard. It's a good match for beer rather than coffee. The prices are reasonable for a department store basement. You can choose any bakery you like among the three. Enjoy your meal!

Every morning at Saint-Anne at Daimaru Umeda store - Amidst the continuous hits of new damands, there are repeat damands as well. This damand has a gentle sweetness and a soft texture with a satisfying chewiness. It is the kind of damand you want to enjoy slowly or when you are in a calm mood. It looks cute with its round shape. The store is located on the basement floor of Daimaru Umeda store. It is smaller in size compared to the bakeries on both sides, but it is always crowded whenever you go. Perhaps it's because of the natural yeast used. The taste does seem good for the body. - Damand 237 yen (tax included) Saint-Anne's croissant damand has no filling inside, but the almond cream on top is moist and tastes like a cookie. It seems to get more delicious every time I visit. I will definitely go back again.

I stopped by a bakery near Umeda Station in Osaka's Kita Ward, inside the Daimaru Umeda store. They specialize in bread made with natural yeast, taking great care in the process. I tried their popular Inaka Pan (half size) for 270 yen. This bread is made only with wheat flour, brown sugar, salt, and natural yeast, taking 10 hours to make. When eaten as is, it has a nice chewiness. When toasted, it becomes crispy on the outside and soft inside, with a subtle sweetness. I plan to try other breads next time!
