Located in a corner where restaurants line up near Higo Bridge, there is a specialty shop that focuses on sea bream. I had been curious about it for a long time, but I prioritized trying the ramen at "Dakishime Tai" first, and now I finally made it here. The restaurant has a spacious dining area on the second floor as well as the first floor, and this time I decided to dine at the counter on the second floor. I ordered the Matsuyama Sea Bream Set Meal (1,500 yen) which includes sea bream sashimi, sea bream rice, sea bream head soup, sea bream broth, side dishes (salad, chawanmushi), pickles, and miso soup. The set was quite substantial. The sea bream sashimi was fresh and delicious, and I recommend enjoying it with soy sauce before adding the remaining slices on top of the sea bream rice to create a delicious ochazuke. The sea bream rice is refillable, so I quickly finished it all. The sea bream broth was light and flavorful. The sea bream sashimi was incredibly fresh, with thick slices that showcased its freshness. The sea bream head soup was also satisfying, although it was relatively light in flavor. Overall, the meal was worth the 1,500 yen price tag. Thank you for the feast!

Just a short walk from Higo Bridge. Lots of regular salarymen during weekday lunchtime! I was completely satisfied! You can choose between 7, 10, or 12 slices of sea bream for the same price - I went with 12 slices. The sea bream in the chawanmushi and sashimi was fresh and delicious. If you love sea bream, this place is a must-try!

The deliciousness of stability. I've only been here for lunch, but the careful work put into it is wonderful. The red snapper is the main dish, and I end up eating too much white rice. Being able to choose the number of pieces is also a delight for customers. It's great for having a leisurely meal and for entertaining bosses or important guests. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a Tai Meshi specialty restaurant in Higo Bridge. This time, I had the Uwajima Tai Meshi lunch and upgraded to Tai Meshi with white rice for an additional 200 yen. You can choose between 7/10/12 slices of Tai sashimi, and I chose 12 slices, although it seems that only the thickness varies. Tai Meshi is refillable, so I had a regular serving for the first bowl and made a Tamago Kake Gohan (TKG) with egg and soy sauce for the second bowl. When considering other side dishes, the overall taste wasn't very luxurious, but I think it's a good deal to be able to eat Tai Meshi at this price.

I forgot the name of the lunch menu, but I had a set with various items. The miso soup was delicious, and I could choose up to 12 slices of sashimi without any additional charge. In addition to the sea bream rice bowl, the sea bream simmered dish that came in the middle was also excellent. The sweet seasoning was very tasty. The staff were all polite and efficient, and I enjoyed the meal very much!

I went for lunch. The fresh sea bream sashimi was delicious. The chawanmushi was also tasty. You can choose the number of sea bream sashimi slices, but the price is the same. Of course, I ordered the maximum of 12 slices (lol). You can change the white rice to sea bream rice for an additional 200 yen.

On 2023/08/01 (Tuesday) at 12:15, I had the chilled soup set meal for ¥1200. The summer limited menu sashimi had over 10 pieces, and if you eat it properly, you can easily eat three bowls of rice (I managed with two bowls). It's perfect for summer, refreshing and cooling, both physically and mentally.

I found a restaurant serving sea bream rice on the way from Yodoyabashi to Higobashi. They offer two styles: Matsuyama style where you pour dashi at the end, and Uwajima style where you eat it with egg over rice. I chose the Uwajima style this time. You can also choose the number of slices of sea bream sashimi, which is a great deal. Additionally, it comes with chawanmushi and side dishes, making it even more worth it. And it's delicious. I visited the "Toku Masu" store, a specialty shop for sea bream. It is located about a 3-minute walk from Osaka Metro Higobashi Station. This time, I had the "Matsuyama Sea Bream Rice". The set includes sea bream rice, sea bream sashimi, simmered sea bream head, steamed egg custard, side dish pickles, and miso soup. You can have seconds of the sea bream rice. You can choose between 7, 10, or 12 slices of sashimi at the same price. The sea bream rice has a refined seasoning with a rich broth and is delicious. The sashimi was also good. The simmered sea bream head had plenty of meat and just the right seasoning, making it delicious. The steamed egg custard also contained sea bream and had a flavorful broth, making it tasty. I asked the staff for sea bream broth, poured it over the sea bream rice topped with sashimi and condiments, and finished with sea bream tea pickles. Saturday lunchtime. Despite the cloudy weather, the temperature is 32°C with humidity close to 90%, making it unbearably hot and exhausting. I tried looking for an eel restaurant to boost my energy, but couldn't decide on one. So, I decided to go to my favorite place in Osaka instead. Even though it was only 5 minutes after opening, there were already 8 people waiting in line. After waiting for 35 minutes, I finally got inside. I ordered the "Matsuyama Tai Meshi for 1650 yen" and a "cold sake for 700 yen". There were three types of one-cup cold sake available, and I chose the Junmai sake, Tosa no Tsuru. It was cold and crisp with a pure rice flavor. The sake was incredibly delicious, a great choice. The sashimi of sea bream was undeniably tasty. But the highlight was the sea bream simmered in broth, which I think is the best in Japan. I would give it a perfect score just for that. The sea bream rice bowl was also delicious, with the flavor of the sea bream broth soaked into the rice. It was so delicious that I couldn't resist ordering another round of cold sake. But day drinking hits you hard. Lastly, I added some sea bream sashimi and sea bream simmered in broth to my sea bream rice bowl, pouring hot sea bream broth over it and adding a touch of wasabi. The satisfaction from this meal is beyond words. I enjoyed it immensely once again. Thank you for the meal.

Last week, I had a marinated bowl, so today I had Uwajima sea bream rice for ¥1200. It's a sea bream rice, but it's actually a sashimi set. And you can choose between 7, 9, or 12 pieces of sashimi for the same price - of course, I chose 12 pieces. The Uwajima style involves dipping the sashimi in egg and dashi soy sauce. Finally, pour the dashi soy sauce and egg over the rice for a delicious egg over rice dish. If you're really hungry, you can have 12 pieces of sashimi with 2 or 3 servings of rice, and finish with the egg over rice dish (I had 2 servings this time). The sea bream chawanmushi is also elegant and the hydrangeas are beautiful. Overall, there's nothing to complain about. It's a satisfying meal!

This was my second visit this time, on May 22, 2023, around 11:30 am. Upon arrival, there were 3 customers at the counter, and it was full about 10 minutes later. There seemed to be seating on the second floor as well, but I have never been upstairs, so I'm not sure. I chose the Matsuyama Tai Meshi. You can choose the number of tai fish slices from 8 to 12, all for the same price. Of course, I chose 12 slices. The main difference with Matsuyama Tai Meshi is that it comes with tai meshi (tai fish over rice) and tai arani (tai fish simmered in broth), and you can pour the broth yourself at your preferred timing to make tai chazuke (rice with tea poured over it). You can also have unlimited rice refills. The tai fish is delivered directly from Ehime, so it's fresh and delicious. The staff members are all amazing! Every single one of them! The owner also greeted us loudly, making the dining experience very pleasant. I would love to go back again.

Arrived around 12:00 on Saturday and was seated on the second floor, which was about 80% full. The interior of the restaurant had a clean and comfortable atmosphere with a woody design. I ordered the "Matsuyama Tai Meshi Lunch" priced at 1,500 yen. First, I learned the difference between Matsuyama Tai Meshi and Uwajima Tai Meshi. The Matsuyama Tai Meshi included tai sashimi (choose from 7, 10, or 12 slices), tai aradaki, tai dashi, two small side dishes, harusame salad, chawanmushi, miso soup (which was a bit light in flavor), pickles, and tai takikomi gohan (free refills). The tai takikomi gohan had a refined dashi flavor and was a favorite among those who enjoy mixed rice. The tai aradaki, served when ready, was thick and satisfying with a light taste. I only had one refill and was already full. Lastly, I enjoyed the tai sashimi on rice with hot dashi poured over it, similar to ochazuke. I had to work on the 5th and 6th of Golden Week, two consecutive days of overtime, being a salaryman is tough... Today, for the first time, I visited a restaurant I used to pass by on my way to work, called Tokumasu. Around 11 o'clock, if you see someone wandering around near Higo Bridge from Fukushima, it's likely they are looking for Tokumasu. I heard from my colleagues that it's a famous restaurant that has been featured on TV a few times. I've avoided going there before because I don't like waiting in line, but since it's Golden Week, I decided to give it a try. Although there wasn't a line outside the restaurant, it was quite crowded inside. I was seated at the counter next to the entrance, which felt cramped with a wall in front of me and the door on my right side. Every time someone entered or left, the opening and closing of the door was distracting. Some people were even peeking inside from outside to check how busy it was, making me feel uneasy. I wish they had a better seating arrangement like fast food restaurants such as McDonald's. The sea bream rice bowl was delicious. You can choose the number of slices of sashimi, but having more slices doesn't mean more quantity. The thinner the slices, the more you get, and vice versa, the quantity remains the same. The food itself was tasty, but they should reconsider their seating arrangement. It's a pity that they seem to prioritize cramming in as many customers as possible just because they are popular.

I ordered the Matsuyama Tai Meshi for lunch at a tai (sea bream) specialty store in Higo Bridge. The dish costs 1,500 yen and you can choose between 7, 10, or 12 slices of sashimi. I chose the 12 slices option. The tai meshi is served with the option to pour dashi over it halfway through to make tai chazuke. The best part was the tai no arani (simmered tai head), which was incredibly delicious. Even though I ordered the most expensive item on the menu, there are lunch options starting from 1,000 yen. The service was fantastic, and I would love to come back for dinner as well.

On a Saturday lunchtime, I took a walk heading north, strolling around. I found this restaurant located northwest from Yotsubashi Street. As I was looking at the menu outside, I was invited inside. It seems to be a specialty store for sea bream. I ordered the "Matsuyama Sea Bream Rice for 1500 yen". It is a dish where sea bream-flavored rice is cooked, known as Matsuyama style. You can choose between 7, 10, or 12 slices of sea bream sashimi, and of course, I went for the maximum. I watched from the counter as they carefully prepared the sea bream sashimi, slicing it meticulously. First, I tried the sea bream rice, and it was undeniably delicious. It lived up to my expectations. Next, I tried the sea bream sashimi. It had been a while since I last had it, but it was incredibly delicious. You could almost eat it with the bones. Then, the "simmered sea bream head" was served! It was brought to me piping hot, as I had watched them cook it right in front of me. The surprise was how delicious it was. The fatty belly part was melt-in-your-mouth, and the flesh was tender. And the skin was tasty too, I was truly impressed. I had never experienced such delicious fish dishes in Osaka before.
