The other day, I visited this chocolatier that I had been curious about for a while. It's called "Chocolatier Taka". It's about a 5-minute walk from Naka-Meguro Station towards Ikejiri, along the river and tucked away in a residential area towards Daikanyama. When I entered the shop, there was only one customer, so it wasn't too crowded. The shop had a variety of items like cakes, chocolates, and baked goods. Although it's not a big shop, there was quite a selection. I couldn't decide what to get, but since it's a chocolatier, I decided to get some chocolates and maybe a cake. I ended up choosing some items that caught my eye. Fromage Cru for 650 yen, Chocolate Pistachio for 800 yen, and a box of 3 Bonbon Chocolates for 1340 yen. I also got a paper bag for 30 yen. First, I tried the Fromage Cru. It's a type of cheesecake with orange syrup or candied orange on top, whipped cream, and white chocolate coating. Inside, there's a cheesecake with a citrus mousse in the center. The base was a slightly moist sponge. It was a sophisticated and refreshing cake that was easy to eat. Next, I tried the Chocolate Pistachio. It's a classic combination of pistachios and chocolate. Under the whipped cream on top is pistachio-flavored chocolate, coated with chocolate. Inside, there's chocolate mousse, pistachio mousse, and berries. The base seemed to be like ganache. The chocolate used was good, and it had a slightly bitter taste with a nice balance of sweetness from the berries. The Bonbon Chocolates came with a guide, and I got Passion Fruit Ganache, Strawberry Champagne (strawberry confiture and champagne ganache), and Matcha Ganache. Personally, I enjoyed the Strawberry Champagne the most. The staff, a male, was polite and friendly. He offered to hold items for me and mentioned they could also do deliveries. They accepted credit cards, which was convenient. Overall, it was a great experience. I recommend visiting this place in Naka-Meguro, especially in the upcoming season. Enjoy your meal!
