Near Kinokuniya bookstore, there is a bakery that is not very noticeable unless you pass by in a car. I tried the butter cream puff, which was delicious with its freshly baked choux pastry filled with butter and cream. As for the financiers, they were okay. The prices are relatively high, so it might be better if the bakery was located in a busier area like near the station or in a downtown area. Whether it's worth going out of your way to visit this bakery in a remote location is up for debate.

I happened to discover this place along Meguro Street. It seems to have opened in December 2022. I bought a butter cream puff. It was a delicious cream puff with a rich buttery taste and a gentle custard cream flavor combined. I thought I would like to eat it again.

I visited a cream puff specialty shop in Jiyugaoka during the early evening. I bought the Ginza Vanilla Cream Puff, Supreme Cream Puff, Financier, and Red Tea Petit Financier. The shop faces Meguro Street and is a bit far from any nearby train stations. It seems to target people living in the neighborhood. There are two types of cream puffs, with the Supreme Cream Puff priced at 540 yen and the Ginza Vanilla Cream Puff at 421 yen. I personally prefer the Supreme Cream Puff, but neither cream puff was exceptional enough for me to want to eat it again. The Financier was priced at 302 yen per piece and had a crispy outer texture, which I enjoyed more than the cream puffs. The limited-time Red Tea Petit Financier had a strong red tea flavor, but it seemed that you could only purchase it in 100g (about 8 pieces) portions. While the sweets were decently tasty, the slightly high prices and lack of strong appeal did not make me feel inclined to visit again. Personal overall rating: 2 - Low likelihood of revisiting.

Each puff cost around 500 yen, which is a bit pricey, but the taste was just average with the cream and pastry being nothing special.

On December 12, 2022, a cream puff specialty store opened in Jiyugaoka, with its main store located in Nagoya. While Jiyugaoka already has a variety of dessert specialty shops, this seems to be the first dedicated to cream puffs. Looking at the photos, the cream puffs appear to be filled to the brim with cream, making it exciting to imagine what they taste like and their texture.

The custard, rich with plenty of intense vanilla beans, is exquisite. The crispy choux pastry is irresistible. With no whipped cream, you can directly savor the deliciousness of the custard, making it a charming dish.

The packaging is a bit excessive, but maybe it's because it's a bit pricey. The cream puffs are delicious. Following the guide, when I reheated just the lid, it became crispy and the butter melted, adding a surprising buttery aroma. I didn't know you could eat it like this. Next time, I'll bring my own plate.
