President of Sheriroze Co., Ltd., human resources educator, and director of the Etiquette Beauty School, Toshihide Igaki here. I will continue with employee training in Osaka. Due to the return of people's flow that was halted by the pandemic, we have received more requests to normalize work. I am grateful for this. I am a foodie, so I always check out delicious restaurants on "Tabelog" before visiting any place. Since I am going to various places, I want to eat something that can only be found there! This is my joy. This time, in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, I ordered the famous omelette rice and "Ginsu" set at this long-established Western-style restaurant. I also added a mini salad. I was moved by the sight of veteran craftsmen making omelette rice tirelessly from the counter seats where I could see the kitchen. The omelette rice is made by rolling tomato sauce-flavored rice with a thin layer of egg. The sauce poured over it is an original tomato-based sauce with a tangy taste, which is delicious. The "Ginsu" is made of fried pork fillet, onions, and green peppers. It's like a skewered version of pork cutlet. Of course, it is freshly fried, crispy with a thin coating, and delicious. The pork has a thick yet tender texture. The onions and green peppers each release their own flavors, matching well with the pork. By eating delicious local food like this and replenishing my mind and body, I am ready for the employee training. I will do my best from tomorrow! Thank you for the meal.

I had some shopping in Shinsaibashi in the morning, and after that, I had lunch at this restaurant. It opens at 11:00 AM and today they required us to write down our names and number of people due to crowd control. I ordered the Omu-rice and Ebi Fry set (1160 yen) with a large portion (200 yen). I was full and satisfied.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I was recommended by my boss before a business trip, so I decided to visit for breakfast and lunch. When I arrived at 11:15, there were 6 people waiting outside, so I signed in at the registration desk next to the door and waited for a while. Thanks to the efficient staff, I was able to enter the restaurant in about 15 minutes. I sat at the counter on the first floor and ordered a set of three omurice and cold soup. It cost 1,530 yen. While watching the cooking process from the counter, I was served the cold soup shortly after. The cold soup was a corn potage available only in the summer, and it was refreshing and delicious. After about 5 minutes, the omurice arrived. It was a traditional dish with egg-wrapped ketchup rice. It came with three beef skewers and boiled cabbage. First, I tried the omurice. The ketchup sauce had a hint of acidity, and the ketchup rice inside was moist and gentle, overall very satisfying. The ketchup rice only had sautéed onions, no chicken or other ingredients. The beef skewers were thinly coated and fried, and they were delicious even without sauce. The boiled cabbage was a nice palate cleanser. In the kitchen, most orders were for omurice, and they were making it at a rapid pace. The gratin baking in the oven also looked incredibly delicious. By the way, you can pay with PayPay. As I was leaving, the line outside had grown even longer. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating omurice for the first time, so I came here. I arrived at 5:30 PM and was able to enter without waiting. I ordered the omurice with 5 kushikatsu. The omurice was moist and delicious. The kushikatsu already had sauce on it and was also delicious. If you're a man, you could probably eat a large portion of omurice. I would like to come back again when I feel like eating omurice. The only downside was that as soon as I finished eating, my plate was taken away. Even though it wasn't crowded. The staff kept staring at me, giving the impression to leave quickly. I wish they would let me relax for about 10 minutes after eating. It's a shame. Next time, I might need to set a time limit when I go.

I always eat omurice at this Western-style restaurant in Shinsaibashi, which was established in 1926. The omurice portion is quite large, so I always order the mini omurice and salad set. The ketchup rice is simple with no fillings, but the sauce is unique and very delicious. I also highly recommend the beef skewers, which I always order. During the summer, they have a seasonal cold soup that is also delicious. The restaurant is always crowded, but the turnover is fast so waiting is not too long. It's a famous restaurant in Osaka that you should definitely visit at least once.

After eating omurice yesterday for the first time in a while, I suddenly had a craving for it again today. I arrived at the restaurant at 5 pm when it opened, and there was already a line! I wondered if it would be worth it, but when I tried it, it reminded me of the taste from my childhood home. It wasn't amazingly delicious, but it had a nostalgic flavor that has been loved since the Showa era. It was good! The clear soup was also delicious!

This is my first visit to a famous restaurant in Shinsaibashi. It can get crowded during lunchtime, but the restaurant is spacious and has a relatively fast turnover, so it's easy to get a seat. I tried the omurice, which was like a traditional Western-style omurice with a demi-glace rather than ketchup, and the rice was rich and delicious. There are many omurice restaurants in Osaka, but I would like to come back to this one again.

On Sunday during lunchtime, Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street is crowded with tourists carrying suitcases. As soon as you enter the area towards the east, you will find a restaurant. The entrance is crowded with people writing their names to wait in line, but since there are three floors, the turnover is fast. I ordered the "Omelette Rice with 3 Pork Cutlet Skewers for 1130 yen". The pork cutlets are the usual bite-sized ones, and it's nice that they are made with beef. The omelette rice is the traditional type and delicious. I like these simple dishes. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the meal.

Omelette rice is the type with thin egg. The sauce is a balanced mix of demi-glace, ketchup, and another sauce (probably), with a slightly spicy taste. The shrimp fry and tartar sauce bring back nostalgic flavors. The beef cutlet is incredibly soft, almost doesn't require chewing! The sauce, which I thought would be the same as the omelette rice, has a slightly milder taste. The cold soup is pumpkin-flavored, smooth. I want to try the hamburger next time!

Near Osaka Shinsaibashi Station, there is a Western-style restaurant called "Meijiken". Established in the first year of the Showa era, it is a long-established restaurant. Today's special menu is Pork Cutlet (with rice) for 930 yen (originally 1130 yen). Using tender pork from Miyazaki, the deliciousness of the special sauce is also included, creating a classic Western-style cuisine experience. The Omelette Rice & Croquette set for 1160 yen is also very appealing.

It's been a while since my family and I visited Meijiken together. It brings back nostalgic memories. I had 5 skewers of katsu, the kids had chicken katsu, and dad had croquettes. The thin and crispy texture of the katsu is really nice, I easily finished 5 skewers but shared with everyone. We got tired from our visit to Shinsaibashi after a long time, but let's come back again sometime.

In the Meiji era, Western food culture was incorporated into Japan and continued to evolve into a unique "Western-style" cuisine. Established in 1925, "Meiji Ken" is renowned for its omurice. The restaurant has preserved the taste that originated during the early days of Western cuisine in Japan. The omurice at "Meiji Ken" stands out from other restaurants. While you can't see any ingredients inside the rice, you can enjoy a deep richness and flavor. The secret lies in the seasoning of the rice, which includes a special paste made of beef tendon, beef thigh meat, onions, fermented butter, red wine, salt, and pepper. When asked, the experienced chef revealed that the key to the flavor is this secret paste. The veteran chef's movements are precise and efficient as he cooks the egg in a well-seasoned iron pan with lard, creating a beautifully finished dish. The reputation of being a top omurice restaurant is well-deserved, as the unique charm and unforgettable taste of their dish leave a lasting impression.

I used it for lunch. I was curious because it is a famous restaurant for omurice. I ordered a set menu with tonkatsu. The omurice was a classic taste that could be described as nostalgic. The demi-glace sauce was also delicious.

Exploring Western cuisine with colleagues in the workplace. We went to a restaurant just a short walk from Shinsaibashi Station. The photo shows an omelette rice and three skewers set with cold soup, costing 1,130 yen plus 400 yen. This long-established restaurant, which has been in business for a hundred years, serves omelette rice made with lard, giving it a unique flavor compared to butter. The omelette rice, served with a slightly spicy sauce, is simply delicious. The skewers feature Osaka's specialty beef cutlets, well-seasoned and perfect for a little break between bites. The cold soup helped cool down the body and made us feel refreshed.

Almost 100th anniversary! The exquisite omurice from the long-established Western-style restaurant in Shinsaibashi. Meiji-ken in Shinsaibashi, founded in 1925, is a Western-style restaurant with a history of almost a century. This year is 2023, so it will be the 100th anniversary in 2 years. It's an incredibly historic place that has been around for a century. The building seems to have been renovated, but the exterior doesn't feel that old. On this day, I visited for lunch. The waitress led me to a table and I sat down. Among the many menu options, I chose the "Omurice & Pork Cutlet Set" for 1160 yen. The omurice was served, along with a huge pork cutlet. The omurice had a ketchup rice inside, which was fluffy, and the sauce had a gentle acidity that was just right. The pork cutlet was also tender and incredibly delicious. My companion ordered the omurice and silver skewer set. The tenderloin was soft and delicious. We were very satisfied and full. It was so delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited an old Western-style restaurant just before closing, so it wasn't too crowded - which was nice! As someone from Tokyo, I found the interactions with the Kansai dialect-speaking staff very heartwarming ☺️ Since I came all the way to Osaka, I ordered the omurice with tonkatsu (less rice) and asked for the egg to be runny - but it turned out to be thin and soft! It was a nice surprise. The ketchup rice was delicious and I was momentarily stunned (lol). The tonkatsu was also carefully made and tasty ❤️

The popular omurice restaurant, founded in 1925 near Dotonbori, surprisingly did not make it to the top 100 restaurants in the 2023 edition of Tabelog's rankings. It's amazing how competitive it is. This place is beloved in Osaka and will soon celebrate its 100th anniversary. It's almost like a tourist spot now, alongside Dotonbori. During lunchtime on a weekday, I waited a bit and got a seat at the counter. I ordered the Omurice with three beef skewers (1130 yen) as it came with a set of skewers, which seemed very Osaka-like. Watching the skilled chef working on the frying pan was entertaining. The omurice was simple, classic, and reminiscent of the past. It wasn't fancy with fluffy and creamy textures or various toppings, but it was just a comforting classic omurice that tasted really good. As for the skewers, I felt like I wanted more crispiness in the breading. But since I don't have much experience with skewers, I'll just take it as how they should be in their hometown. The service from the energetic waitress was great, and her attentiveness gave me a boost of energy. I really like these kinds of places in Osaka.

Established in the first year of the Showa era, Meijiken offers a cozy setting with a veteran chef cooking in an open kitchen. They have counter seats, regular tables, and even a second-floor seating area for larger groups. On this visit, I ordered the Omurice with Ebi Fry set along with a mini salad. The Omurice was perfectly cooked with fluffy eggs enveloping the rice, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The Ebi Fry was served with a generous amount of tartar sauce, which was delicious. The mini salad was a simple mix of shredded cabbage, cucumber, and paprika. Overall, the experience was enjoyable and I would definitely go back for the Omurice again.

The unique moist texture of the minced beef mixed with mashed onions seems to create this distinct taste. The perfectly cooked egg and flavorful sauce blend together in the Omurice. I really like this dish, it's delicious. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to texture, but the fact that this dish has been supported by a century-old history speaks volumes about its popularity. I chose the combination of Omurice and beef skewers, which felt very Osaka-like, and I think it's a great match because of the tenderness of the beef. The main pork chop dish also brings out the richness of the pork through its juicy cooking method. While I believe that the deliciousness of a pork steak isn't solely based on its tenderness, the dishes at Meijiken always exude a sense of kindness. Their customer service is also evident in their multi-language menus and thoughtful seating arrangements at the counter. Despite the long lines, they ensure personal space and adequate storage for belongings. I have posted a 60-second video on Instagram for reference. The restaurant is famous for its omurice, but I wasn't in the mood for that, so I ordered "Kushi-koro". It came with 5 crispy breaded skewers dipped in sauce and a giant cream croquette. The skewers were delicious, with the sauce soaking into the crispy coating. The croquette was a new experience for me, made with roughly crushed macaroni. It was incredibly tasty and satisfying, unlike anything I've had in Tokyo. I was very pleased with the meal. Thank you.

I tried a western-style restaurant near Shinsaibashi Daimaru because I passed by it during work. I ordered the set lunch for 900 yen, which included shrimp fry, cutlet, and delicious side dishes and soup. The atmosphere of the old-fashioned restaurant was nice, and I would like to try other dishes there as well.
