I visited the most affordable restaurant in the Numata-san series, "Tensei," and it was delicious. The restaurant is located in Tenjinbashi. There are several renowned restaurants in this area. It has a residential neighborhood feel. We visited for lunch but opted for the evening course, which was quite reasonable at just over 6000 yen. The entrance is small with about 11 seats at the counter. The staff, consisting of about three men, provided standard service. We started with freshly made batter. We had: - Tilefish chawanmushi - Freshwater eel hand-rolled sushi - Salad - Tempura: shrimp head, shrimp, green beans, fugu leaf roll, lotus root, mochi sandwich with karasumi, shirako with turnip miso, chervil, negi onion, broccoli, swordfish, choice between freshwater eel or duck - Tempura egg over rice - Tempura egg yolk - Truffle-flavored white fish meringue - Tempura crumbs - Sweet potato tempura with ice cream For this price, the performance was exceptional. The oil was well-drained, and the ingredients were decent. As expected from a restaurant in the Numata-san series, it was very delicious and satisfying. Next to the restaurant is another affiliated restaurant, Tensei Hanare, which also piques my interest. Tensei Sanyori is a step above this restaurant. If given the chance, I would like to try that one too. In terms of cost performance, this tempura course was excellent. To understand the goodness of Osaka tempura, starting from this restaurant might be a good idea. I highly recommend trying it out. By the way, the regular lunch course is 3,300 yen, which is also highly recommended. Thank you for the meal.

Thank you for viewing. I would be grateful if you could give me your "likes," "follows," and "save the store." The access is about a 6-minute walk from Tenjinbashi Rokuchome Station in a quiet area. The shop stands out with a conspicuous appearance of fixed lattice windows, which was easy to find. Inside the shop, there is an L-shaped counter with 11 seats and no private rooms. By the way, it was full on this day. It is popular indeed. The tempura has a thin coating and is cooked thoroughly. All of them are delicious tempura without any misses. I think you can enjoy reasonably priced tempura from the "Numata" series for lunch. The menu I had on this day is as follows: "Egg Tofu, Sea Urchin, Cucumber and Shiso Sauce, Hanaho Shiso," "Salted Kombu and Nishiki Sesame Lettuce Salad," "Horse Mackerel Wrapped in Perilla Leaf," "New Ginkgo from Kumamoto," "Round Okra from Kumamoto," "Ayu from Lake Biwa," "Red Eggplant from Kumamoto," "Sawara," "Corn" fried with meat on both sides, which is irresistible for corn lovers, "Anago" was delicious with a good amount of fat, "Satsuma Sweet Potato" was soft with a crispy outer layer and a sweet taste, "Sea Bream Tea Rice," "Salted Kombu, Mitsuba," "Pickled Cucumber." You can enjoy the taste change by pouring tea after eating the sea bream tea rice as it is. I had a reasonably priced tempura course for lunch. I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity. Thank you for the meal.

Tempura was served with a detailed explanation for each piece. Even though it was during the day, we were able to order the evening course. Starting with two dishes, we progressed through courses including golden eye snapper, cutlassfish, young ayu, and vegetables, totaling 11 dishes. Dessert was also included, and everything was served in about 90 minutes. The tempura was so delicious that it disappeared before we knew it.

A cost-effective tempura restaurant located on Tenjinbashi-suji heading towards Kitahama. It's like a casual version of Numata-san's shop!? Both the dishes and tempura are delicious and very reasonably priced. It's a user-friendly restaurant. The batter is thin and crispy. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

It's a small restaurant with only a counter. The timing of the dishes is great, the service is quiet and polite, and there is a comfortable distance. You can also order additional tempura after the course. It's a casual and friendly place where you can enjoy lunch or dinner without feeling formal. In addition to delicious food, they also offer a selection of drinks that pair well with each dish, including sake, wine, and champagne. It's a place where you can enjoy the seasons no matter how many times you visit.

I visited on a Saturday evening with a reservation. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm, and the chef was gentle, making me feel relaxed. The tempura was fried right in front of me, so I couldn't help but enjoy it with chopsticks and sake! The swordfish tempura was light and fluffy, and the duck tempura was unusual and delicious. It was fun to choose the sake cup when ordering sake.

The small and clean shop may divide preferences as the interior is visible from the window. The counter is spacious and they fry and serve the next dish at a good timing according to your eating pace. The ingredients and cooking were also good.

I have visited this favorite restaurant several times. You can enjoy delicious tempura at a reasonable price. I like that you can add additional ingredients to the course menu. The tempura goes well with Japanese sake, so I tend to overeat, but it's so good!笑

Tako (octopus) and summer vegetable salad, grilled eggplant with white miso paste, shrimp head, shrimp with white sauce, okra, red eggplant, horse mackerel and shiso leaf, conger eel, corn, anago (conger eel), sweet potato, sea bream with tea sauce, full and satisfied. The tempura was delicious with a thin crispy coating and juicy filling, the tempura at a tempura restaurant is truly different. The tempura of conger eel had a crispy skin and a melt-in-your-mouth flesh, it was really delicious. Eating conger eel made me feel the summer vibe, very satisfying. The sea bream with tea sauce had a generous amount of sesame sauce, delicious on its own but even better when eaten as ochazuke with added seaweed and trefoil, enhancing the flavor. Yummy.

Today, I went to a favorite tempura restaurant called Tenboshi, which is a sister store of Numata that gained popularity last year, to try their horse sashimi set menu with tempura. The omakase course was priced at a very reasonable 5,500 yen, making it accessible to everyone. Although the quality of ingredients and service may not be as high as Numata, Tenboshi fulfills its mission of providing delicious tempura at an affordable price, making it a welcoming tempura restaurant for all. The total cost for today's meal for two people was 19,657 yen. Menu: - Horse sashimi with spicy vinegar miso dressing - Nara's Miwa somen noodles with nagaimo - Horse sashimi assortment: thigh meat, mane, tongue, belly - Tempura: shrimp heads, shrimp, snap peas, red eggplant from Kumamoto, needlefish sushi, young corn, conger eel, squid and mentaiko wrapped in shiso leaf, long green chili peppers, hairtail, additional monkfish liver and duck meat, tempura rice bowl with tempura scraps, partner's rice bowl with raw egg and sweet potato tempura, homemade ice cream - Other drinks

I suddenly felt like eating tempura, so I called the restaurant and they said they had a seat available from 12 o'clock for me. It was my first visit to the restaurant. I started with celery and octopus with vinegar miso. I toasted with a glass of white wine. The restaurant had 10 seats, and you could see them frying from everywhere. I had tempura starting with shrimp heads, followed by shrimp, snap peas, and cutlassfish. Lastly, they served me sea bream with sesame soy sauce, white rice, and dashi for ochazuke. The sea bream with sesame sauce was incredibly delicious. They also had a variety of wines and sake. Lunch tempura is also great. Thank you for the meal.

Delicious and light tempura with an elegant touch at a reasonable price can be enjoyed at Tensei ❤️ This place truly makes it possible to have both affordable and tasty dishes!! The tempura course is so delicious and affordable, it's hard to come by elsewhere! - Tensei's Night Omakase Course: 5,500 yen ◇ Appetizer ◇ 11 pieces of tempura ◇ Salad ◇ Rice (choose from below) ・Tamago kake gohan ・Tempura shop's onigiri ・Koumi chazuke (+500 yen for Tencha) ・Seasonal tendon ◇ Dessert The tempura was so delicious that I couldn't help but order more. Especially the large anago tempura was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and it was so delicious. Each piece had a great texture and was so easy to eat, I could have had as many as I wanted! The last dish of tamago kake kakiage gohan with truffle meringue on top was amazing. From the appetizer to the end, everything was elegant and delicious ❤️. The mini course starts from 3,300 yen, so it's very affordable! They also serve lunch, so I'll definitely go back again ===========

I had lunch at "Tensei" in Tenjinbashi-suji 7-chome. I had been wanting to try this place for a while, but they only serve lunch from Thursday to Sunday, and going alone for dinner seemed a bit intimidating. Finally, I was able to visit. Nearby, there are Michelin 2-star restaurant "Aoki", as well as Michelin 1-star restaurants such as "Takama" for soba and "Sushi Shin". "Tensei" has also received the Michelin Bib Gourmand award in the past. I originally went to try their tempura bowl for lunch, but they were not serving it at the moment, so I opted for the 1,980 yen set meal instead of the 3,300 yen course. The tempura of shrimp, white fish, and Kuma-shima flathead mullet were served in that order. It was recommended to eat them with salt, and they tasted great with a squeeze of lemon. Eating tempura with salt really brings out the flavor of the ingredients. The tempura was fried in high-quality oil, leaving a refreshing aftertaste. Next, sea bream, red eggplant from Kumamoto, turnip from Aomori, duck, and shiitake mushrooms from Nagasaki were served in a good tempo. You could enjoy them with salt or tempura dipping sauce. The turnip tempura was especially unique and must require skill to fry due to its high water content. Also, the rice was surprisingly delicious. Each dish was made with fresh ingredients and expertly fried, resulting in a satisfying lunch experience.

Visited for lunch. Most people were having the course menu, but this time I ordered the set meal. Despite being called a set meal, each item is fried separately so everything is served piping hot. First up was the shrimp head. It was crispy, light, and tender. Even my wife, who usually doesn't like this part, was surprised at how delicious it was. Next was the shrimp meat. It was fluffy rather than firm, and paired well with rock salt. Every ingredient was fried simply to bring out the natural flavors, and everything was really delicious. I especially liked the soft and juicy eggplant, and the fragrant mushrooms. The cost performance was excellent, the service was great, and it's a fantastic restaurant with no complaints. I definitely want to come back.

The course meal, with a little extra, came to around 15,000 yen for two people. Compared to other similar restaurants where it would cost at least 10,000 yen per person, this place is quite affordable. Starting with shrimp, we added squid and other items along the way. The most impressive part was the tamago kake gohan (raw egg over rice) at the end. They fry the yolk and when you break it, it's very creamy. It was a new and amazing sensation. The conger eel tempura also comes with a delicious broth. This place is a must-visit and I definitely want to go back again.

I went to Tempura Tensei in Tenjinbashi-suji and had the 5500 yen chef's choice course. The corn soup with fried whiskers was the first dish, followed by tempura shrimp, okra, sand borer, lotus root, shiitake mushrooms, and a variety of corn called Gold Rush, as well as oysters, conger eel, and duck meat, among others. The crispy tempura was delicious. The bowl of horse mackerel and okra, as well as the sesame vinegar salad with eggplant and new ginger, were also flavorful. I also tried the camembert and prosciutto, as well as the sea urchin and shrimp tempura as additional orders. I was surprised by the sea urchin tempura, but it was exquisite! For the finale, I opted for the tempura rice bowl with an extra charge, while my friend chose the rice with raw egg. The tempura rice bowl was as expected, but the rice with raw egg was a creative dish, starting with fried egg yolk and finishing with whipped egg whites, tempura crumbs, creating a unique flavor. The dessert was coconut ice cream in a wafer, which I thought would be interesting if it was also fried. The total cost increased with additional orders and drinks, but the course itself was reasonably priced and left me completely satisfied. I would love to visit this restaurant again.

It was a lunch on a holiday. Chef's special lunch for 3000 yen: appetizer, tempura, sea bream rice bowl. The appetizer had firefly squid in steamed egg custard, but the taste was lacking. The salad with lettuce, crispy salted kelp, and colorful sesame was just delicious. The tempura had 9 varieties including shrimp heads, which were flavorful and the legs were crispy. The shrimp was freshly fried, giving off steam. The texture was normal and tasted good with salt. The red eggplant from Kumamoto was juicy and had a gentle flavor, with a texture that didn't feel like eggplant. The tempura of white fish wrapped in seaweed had a soft white fish inside, with a texture different from what was expected. The onion tempura was recommended to be eaten with plenty of grated daikon in tempura dipping sauce, but it was better with just salt to fully appreciate the onion's texture and flavor. The fugu wrapped in shiso leaf was good but the fugu flavor was not fully experienced. The bamboo shoot tempura with tempura dipping sauce was recommended to be eaten as is. The sauce was fragrant, but the parts without sauce were better with salt. The fugu milt tempura with a little sansho pepper in tempura dipping sauce felt lacking when eaten as is, so it was better with tempura dipping sauce than salt. The sweet potato chestnut gold was sweet but with a somewhat incomplete sweetness. The sea bream rice bowl with wasabi, sesame dressing, salted kelp, green onion, seaweed, cucumber was just delicious. It's a shame that the seating was narrow. The staff were friendly, with the main server wearing a Nuta's clothing.

First visit. I had the 3,000 yen lunch course. The appetizer, 9 pieces of tempura, and sea bream tea-soaked rice bowl. The salad appetizer was a Japanese salad with cabbage mixed with salted kelp, which was so delicious that I wanted to keep eating. The tempura was all made with high-quality ingredients and had a wonderful taste. The sea bream in the tea-soaked rice bowl was also very delicious, but I wished there was a bit more of it. Overall, it was a very satisfying restaurant. I will definitely visit again! On my way out, it was raining and I hadn't brought an umbrella, but the restaurant provided me with a disposable umbrella, which was a thoughtful gesture that impressed me!
