The bar is located on the 6th floor of a building, and it seemed to be celebrating its 26th anniversary as there were congratulatory flowers at the entrance. When entering a new bar for the first time, there is always a bit of nervousness and great expectations. This bar didn't immediately reveal the whole view of the place, but first you step into a corridor by the window. I sat at the counter on the left. Since I had already been drinking, I asked for a refreshing cocktail. I don't remember the name, but it suited my taste. From there, I had a conversation with the bartender, Nagatomo-san. As closing time approached, I ordered one last drink, a cocktail with the bar's name and No.2 attached. It was delicious. Towards the end, there were hardly any customers left, and I had a nice chat with Nagatomo-san across the counter. Among the interesting stories we shared, what stood out was the relationship between a master and an apprentice. I was surprised by how similar the relationship between a bartender and their apprentice was to my own professional relationship. I deeply agreed on how meeting a good mentor can greatly influence one's professional life. Lastly, we exchanged business cards, and Nagatomo-san recommended three bars in Yokohama. I had a truly wonderful night and I am deeply grateful!

I noticed there were quite a few Korean tourists and travelers around, quickly sipping their drinks before leaving. The menu was easy to navigate, and I decided to try the original No.7 cocktail as I was craving the sweetness of grape liqueur after a long day of traveling. Surprisingly, the No.7 was refreshing rather than sweet. I nibbled on some crispy snacks and a few dry fruits while requesting a sweeter cocktail. We arrived around 10:30 pm, but more and more people arrived after us. I wonder how many groups they had to turn away... Soon after, more customers arrived and the place quickly filled up. Inside the counter, there was a master in a white suit and one bartender. They seemed quite busy. We started with the classic two drinks at a bar: a Gibson and a Martini. Unfortunately, since we were not at the counter, we couldn't see the exact brands, but the master's elegant spoon handling and shaking were visible. The cocktails were sharp and dry, with a hint of sweetness that made them delicious. For the next drink, we ordered a single malt, the Highland Park Odin 20 years. It was a limited edition aged in bourbon barrels, and it had a smoky peat aroma and a spicy flavor unique to the Orkney Islands. Lastly, we had my favorite whiskey, the Lagavulin 16 years. It always delivers the best taste. The bar lived up to its reputation, although it was a bit disappointing that we weren't at the counter and the other bartender's performance was lacking. The place was quite crowded with both locals and foreigners, so I recommend making a reservation if you want to go for sure. The atmosphere inside the bar was cozy and the staff were friendly. I tried the Dekopon cocktail and the Amaou cocktail recommended by the staff, and they were delicious. What impressed me was that even though the place was full and some people had to leave without getting a seat, the staff always escorted them out to the door. The staff was really cool and the service, atmosphere, and personality of the staff contributed to the positive reputation of the bar. We each had a drink and some appetizers, which came to a total of 6,500 yen. It was a bit more expensive than I expected, but if you stick to the menu items, you can enjoy it without breaking the bank. I highly recommend visiting this bar at least once!

The Gimlet with ice, a signature of authentic bars, was consistently delicious! They are flexible and will make cocktails according to your request!
