After using it, my husband said he wanted to eat soba, so I searched and found this place. I wasn't sure if they were open, so I called to confirm and made a reservation for 10 minutes later. The restaurant has a charming exterior and interior, renovated from an old house. They have table seating and tatami seating. Even though it's not listed on the menu, they surprised us with a variety of side dishes. It's only available on weekdays, which is nice. Although it's a soba restaurant, I was surprised that there was no tempura on the menu, but maybe they serve a small portion of tempura like this. The assorted tempura included eggplant, cherry tomatoes, okra, simmered thick tofu, chicken meatballs (delicious), rolled omelette, sweet potatoes, cucumber salad, simmered dried daikon radish, and watermelon. Everything tasted great. The zaru soba (1000 yen) was praised by my soba-loving husband. The owner trained at a Kanto-style soba restaurant, so the dipping sauce is slightly spicy. It may be a bit too spicy for those who prefer sweeter sauce in Fukuoka. The soba broth is thick. The myoga soba (limited to September, 1500 yen) had fewer myoga than expected, but it came with plenty of grated yam, which was satisfying. The use of black pepper as a hidden flavor surprisingly worked well, adding a nice spicy kick. The texture of the yam added a unique touch to the dish, making it delicious. I have no knowledge of soba, but since my husband, who loves soba, says it's delicious, I trust his judgment.
