I finally went to a ramen shop I've been wanting to try for a while, on a drive. It was a Sunday afternoon, so there were some customers but I didn't have to wait in line. I even had an extra serving and ended up feeling very full. They also serve oden, so I want to try that next time!

I had been wanting to eat ramen that I had been thinking about for a while, and I found out that it was being revived for a limited time, so I made a reservation and went there right away. I sometimes go to places like Shinshin no Mori, but this time it was a bit difficult to navigate the narrow roads on the way there. Well, I waited on the long bench outside until the reservation time. When I entered the restaurant, a private room was prepared, and there was a comment saying that the meal should be finished within 30 minutes. Well, it's ramen, so it won't take 30 minutes anyway... I wonder if they were taking reservations in 30-minute intervals. I ordered the 750 yen ramen and my partner ordered the 1000 yen chashu ramen. The ramen was a high-quality Kurume ramen. There was also spicy pickled mustard greens on the table, which was really delicious! Of course, I also ordered the 600 yen takana (pickled mustard greens) to take home. The oolong tea was also refreshing and delicious. Ramen and oolong tea go really well together. I'm glad I came here!

Today's lunch was at a restaurant that I was very curious about on the reviewer's timeline! It's a long-established kaiseki restaurant that is offering tonkotsu ramen for a limited time (until the end of September, with reservations required about a week in advance). It seems like it was also featured on TV, and the owner mentioned that if it wasn't a fugu restaurant, he wanted to make ramen... I've never had the opportunity to visit such a high-end restaurant, so I really want to try it! Although my parents have been living nearby for almost 20 years, they've never been there either. So, I decided to take them with me on this impromptu visit! We arrived after climbing up a quiet path with a serene view of Mount Abura... The exterior already exuded a sophisticated and upscale ambiance, not the typical vibe for a ramen place... I took more photos than usual to capture this different atmosphere! We took off our shoes and were guided to a private room with a view of the garden... Feeling a bit uneasy, I checked the menu... Oh, ramen! This time, I ordered with a bit of extravagance, opting for extra chashu! - Chashu Ramen (1,000 yen) There were spicy mustard greens and pickled ginger on the table, a sign of authenticity... The ramen arrived in our private room within 5 minutes! The aroma was of rich tonkotsu broth and the trendy foam... First, I tried the soup... It had a slightly thick tonkotsu flavor, yet surprisingly mild and easy to drink! Delicious! It had a satisfying richness of tonkotsu without being overwhelming, and it didn't linger in the mouth, surprisingly gentle in taste... The noodles were thin and straight, cooked to perfection, and when slurped vigorously, the aroma was delightful and complemented the soup well! The chashu had a good ratio of fat and lean meat, tender with a well-balanced seasoning that allowed the meat's flavor to shine through... I considered getting an extra serving, but instead, I added this... - Rice (200 yen) This soup seemed like it would go well with rice too... especially with the mustard greens. As expected, the soup paired excellently with rice... it was so delicious! I indulged in the remaining chashu and mustard greens on top. The richness of tonkotsu, the texture of wood ear mushrooms, and rice made it an unstoppable combination! By the time I finished my rice, I had also finished the soup, of course! Wow, to think I could have such authentic ramen here... I hope it becomes a regular menu item, not just a limited-time offer! I wonder if they'll have it again next year... I'd love to come back! Well, next time, I'll come for the main event - fugu!

We visited this restaurant as it is only available until the end of September. We made a reservation a week in advance and were able to secure a booking at 13:30. The location is right next to Yusan Golf Course. The restaurant has a lovely traditional Japanese inn-like entrance that exudes a sense of tranquility. We tried the Char Siu Ramen for ¥1000 (tax included), which I initially thought was a bit pricey. However, we were seated in a private room with a view of the garden, and the taste was exceptional. The pork bone broth had a refined taste, and the crunchiness of the green onions added a nice touch. I also enjoyed adding some spicy pickled mustard greens halfway through to change up the flavor. The firmness of the noodles was not asked for, but it was cooked perfectly. Enjoying delicious pork bone ramen in a traditional setting while maintaining social distance was a unique experience that I highly recommend. Just a heads up, my cloth mask absorbed the pork bone fragrance on the way back, so be careful. I managed to get rid of the smell using a car air freshener.

I am from Nagasaki Prefecture, but currently living in Fukuoka Prefecture. Whenever I hear about delicious ramen shops that are no longer around, I feel envious because I can no longer try them. For example, Yacchan Ramen in Noma is already closed, and I never had the chance to try it. People say it was different and delicious compared to Yacchan in Yakuin or Dazaifu, but I can only feel envious. Daruma in Hakozaki is another legendary shop that people often talk about, but I only went to the one in Haruyoshi so I can't compare. One such legendary shop is Maru Hachi in Sarayama. The owner of Maru Hachi used to be a Japanese cuisine chef, but he started pursuing ramen and learned tonkotsu ramen in Kurume. Eventually, he had to close Maru Hachi due to being busier with his Japanese cuisine restaurant. Now, he is the head chef at Fugu Kappo, Yuyama Sanso. I read about this in an article by Mr. Ogawa from the Nishinippon Shimbun. I also visited the Maru Hachi Asakura branch run by his apprentice. It was a delicious old-fashioned Kurume ramen that made me want to have another bowl. Recently, I saw on social media that the ramen from Maru Hachi in Sarayama is being served for lunch at Yuyama Sanso until the end of September. I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. The atmosphere was very luxurious from the entrance, and I was already feeling like it was a great deal to enjoy ramen in such an environment. I ordered ramen and was served promptly. The broth had a rich foam on top, and it looked delicious. The toppings were simple - chashu, wood ear mushrooms, and green onions. The chashu was rolled pork belly. The broth was rich in tonkotsu flavor but was smooth and easy to drink. It was even smoother than the one I had at Maru Hachi Asakura branch. The noodles were average. The chashu was flavorful but did not overpower the ramen. It was tender and delicious. I finished the noodles and ordered an extra serving. I added the ramen sauce, ground sesame, and table pepper, which enhanced the flavor. I ended up finishing the broth as well. The ramen was priced at 750 yen, and the chashu ramen was 1,000 yen, which may seem a bit expensive, but considering the ambiance, unlimited oolong tea, and the delicious ramen, I thought it was actually a good deal. The ramen is available until the end of September.

In August 2020, I revisited a legendary ramen shop that had a limited-time revival and couldn't forget about it. The second visit was even better than the first, so I thought the third visit would be even more delicious. I made a reservation for this exclusive ramen shop, which is known for its luxurious atmosphere that doesn't match its exterior appearance. The fragrance of the ramen was unforgettable, even more so than Dolce & Gabbana. I ordered the "Chashu Ramen" for 1000 yen, and the visual presentation was unforgettable. The soup had a rich depth of flavor, even more so than last time. The noodles were ordinary, but maybe it's time to switch to softer noodles to match the soup's flavor. The chashu was delicious as always, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. I couldn't resist getting an extra serving of chashu and even ordered an extra noodle refill. I hope this limited-time revival continues, as I sincerely wish for it to be a permanent fixture.

Michelin Guide Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki 2019 Special Edition Michelin Guide Fukuoka, Saga 2014 Special Edition Two-star Michelin Guide "Yama Sanso," a two-star Michelin-rated gourmet restaurant, has started offering ramen amidst the coronavirus pandemic. They provide ramen in private rooms by reservation only. You can enjoy authentic ramen while overlooking the garden of a luxury restaurant. This new style of ramen service is planned to continue until the end of September, before the official launch. The ramen business hours are from noon to 3 pm. "Maru Hachi" Ramen Maru Hachi is a ramen shop founded by Mr. Watanabe of Yama Sanso in Hakata Ward in 1989. It gained many fans with its rich tonkotsu ramen, but managing both a high-class restaurant and a ramen shop turned out to be more challenging than expected. After about 10 years, they closed down. In 2003, they reopened in Minami Ward of the same city, but their gourmet fugu dishes, which were a hit at the restaurant, became too demanding to handle, leading to another closure three years later. Maru Hachi's ramen became a legendary taste. As of August 22, 2019 (Sat.), the dishes we tried were: Ramen ¥750 (tax included) Chashu Ramen ¥1,000 (tax included)

Hehe, I went to Aburayama Sansou. I thought I was going to die biking there haha. I ordered ramen for 750 yen, rice for 200 yen, and spicy pickled vegetables to go for 600 yen. I ate the pickled vegetables first because I was sweating so much on the way there, but it wasn't as spicy as I expected. The ramen was really delicious! The char siu was also tasty. It was a great meal as always. Thank you for the meal!

Now, this is probably the hottest place for tonkotsu ramen in Fukuoka. I finally made it to Oilyama Sanso, a place that has been constantly shown off by the MyRebi community with reviews that are more like boasts. As everyone said, when you wind up the narrow road and suddenly appear in the middle of nature, the mountain lodge is indeed a bit too luxurious for just eating ramen haha. I felt a bit out of place in my most "adult" outfit, thinking "I don't even have clothes like this to come to a place like this," but surprisingly, there were people coming in with ripped jeans and such (^◇^;) My partner and I went into the "Matsunoma" to eat ramen. I imitated the prince and ordered the Chashu Men, while my partner ordered the default ramen. Perhaps due to the fact that they operate on a complete reservation basis with a target time of 30 minutes per group, surprisingly, the ramen appeared in about 5 minutes. The rich tonkotsu soup looks incredibly creamy from the appearance. The aroma is just right, not too strong with the pork bone smell. When you take a sip of the soup, you can taste the rich umami that I love, yet surprisingly, it goes down refreshingly. It's in the category of exquisite tonkotsu soup packed with flavor! Delicious! We stuck with the default noodles, and the texture and smoothness were just right. And the Chashu was so tender with a good chew, truly exquisite. It was definitely a great decision to go with the Chashu Men, just like the prince recommended! We also ordered an extra serving of noodles and added some sesame. Yeah, it's alright with or without it haha. And the spicy mustard greens, oh boy, they're spicy! It's the kind of extremely spicy mustard greens typical of ramen shops, where you wonder, "Are they not meant to be put in the soup, or is my taste buds just crazy?" haha. The shop owner must be so good at making delicious ramen, so it's probably the former! However, I didn't want the soup's flavor to change at all, so I ate them separately. It was quite choking! Since it's this time of year and even though it's a private room, it might be best to refrain from coughing too much. In my opinion, it was somewhat similar to Koma-ya's ramen, but I think it would have been even more delicious if the soup was a bit hotter. Nevertheless, it was truly a top-notch tonkotsu ramen! If only they were open 24 hours next to my home, I wouldn't mind having all my meals here haha. Trying out this legendary ramen is definitely worth it! Thank you for the meal.

I finally went there! The long-awaited ramen at Aburayama Sanso! I found out about it from a review on Mynavi's website. After researching on social media, I discovered that you can eat ramen in a private room at a traditional Japanese inn! The taste of this ramen is said to be legendary and only available for a limited time! I had to go, so I made a reservation and went there. The review mentioned a beautiful and friendly female hostess, and that's exactly who welcomed us. The room we were led to was a lovely private space just like in the pictures. While waiting, we enjoyed some pickled vegetables. They were spicy and delicious! Quite spicy! We ordered and the ramen arrived fairly quickly. The chashu was tender and tasty, and the ramen itself was delicious. It wasn't greasy and was easy to eat. I think the taste would appeal to everyone. It was also incredibly delicious with the pickled vegetables added. By the way, I took home 2 packs of pickled vegetables! The taste is amazing, and it feels even more delicious in that luxurious setting. It seems like it's available until the end of September, so I will definitely go back!

Finally made it. Over 10 years ago, there was a Kyushu ramen shop in Aburayama that had a good reputation, but it closed down before I could visit. I heard that the chef who trained there opened a ramen shop in Odawara a few years ago, so I went to try it out. It turns out, the original shop has reopened for a limited time! I found out that the chef is now running a Michelin two-star fugu (blowfish) restaurant. What an incredibly talented chef. I made a reservation and visited for lunch. The soup is Kyushu-style with almost no odor, creamy. The noodles are thin like Kyushu-style, but the wheat aroma stands out, possibly because the soup is slightly lighter. It gives off a somewhat subdued impression. I see, the style is to customize the flavor with ingredients like spicy pickled greens, sesame, and sauce. Hmm, I feel like going back again. I might make another reservation just to confirm.

By the side of Mt. Abura, there was a large traditional Japanese inn. Upon entering the entrance, there was a mysterious atmosphere with a strange tonkotsu flavor bar. I was guided to a private room and decided to try the chashu ramen for the first or second time in my life. The ramen and rice were served promptly, with the rice placed on a silver crescent plate, which looked surreal to me. The ramen arrived and it was delicious, with a mild tonkotsu flavor. The rice didn't really appeal to me, but the ramen was excellent. Overall, it was a lunch with potential buzz, but I would rate it 5 stars for the quality of the ramen. Next time, I'll try just the ramen. Now, I am thinking of visiting the urology department for a check-up tomorrow.

In March 2020, I felt like eating at the limited-time restaurant "Butako" again, so I made a reservation over the phone. It's a reservation-only place, and on weekends, you need to book about a week in advance, while on weekdays, you might be able to get a spot the day before depending on timing. It seems like it's becoming more of a hidden gem after being featured in the local newspaper. This time, I ordered the "Char siu Ramen" (1000 yen) which is the signature dish. The pork bone fragrance upon entering the restaurant was a bit unexpected, but I enjoyed it. The pork bone soup was rich and flavorful, but had a light finish, maybe because of the private room setting. The char siu was delicious, and I think the char siu ramen is worth the price. The pickled mustard greens were quite spicy, so I recommend not adding them to the ramen. I couldn't resist getting an extra serving of noodles this time, and overall, I felt like the dish was even tastier than my previous visit.

Fukuoka City Jonan-ku Higashi Aburayama - Hakata Station & Tenjin are located about 30-40 minutes by car. This restaurant deals with farmed and wild tiger pufferfish and has been awarded two Michelin stars ☆☆. The first generation landlady's family is located in the Yanagibashi Union Market, so fresh whole tiger pufferfish are delivered every morning and swim vigorously in the tank inside the restaurant. The exterior is located in the natural surroundings of Aburayama! The site of the Green Wind Garden, created by world-renowned garden designer Kazuyuki Ishihara, covers 400 tsubo! You can enjoy the view of the garden that blends in with nature. The interior design is a pure Japanese style using cedar and cypress wood throughout! The first floor overlooks the beautiful garden from all spacious rooms! The first floor has a large banquet hall that can accommodate up to 80 people - cherry blossoms in full bloom in spring! Snowy scenery in winter! You can enjoy a leisurely meal with seasonal views throughout the year. There are also four rooms available for overnight stays! There is also a rock bath, so you can relax in a private room. Even if you only want to have a meal for the day, you can use it. Now, what I had was a completely reservation-only lunch "Tonkotsu Ramen"! Due to the impact of "Corona," they were closed for most of April and May, and even after the state of emergency was lifted, the customers did not return... As one of the breakthrough measures, they started offering "Tonkotsu Ramen" for lunch only from June! I was surprised why a restaurant that deals with "pufferfish cuisine" serves "Tonkotsu Ramen," but it turns out that the head chef has an impressive background. In 1989, he founded the ramen restaurant "Maru Hachi" in Hakata-ku, gaining many fans with its rich tonkotsu ramen... However, due to the collaboration with "Aburayama Sanso," it was extremely difficult and closed down after about 10 years! He reopened in Minami-ku in 2003, but the "pufferfish cuisine" here became a big hit, and three years later, he closed down again, making "Maru Hachi" ramen a legendary taste! The existing "Maru Hachi" ramen is said to be run by disciples at "Maru Hachi Asakura Store" in Chikuzen-cho, Fukuoka Prefecture, and "Maruyu Ramen" in Oita City. Now, for the carefully crafted bowl! First, let's start with the soup... Oh, delicious! The creamy soup, which is thoroughly cooked and perfectly emulsified, has no pork bone odor and is loved by people of all ages and genders. The customers who visit are all active senior citizens for some reason, and there were no "ramen enthusiasts" like otaku. They would be delighted to see the traditional flavors that have been carefully reproduced. If I were to evaluate this tonkotsu soup... the pork bone cooking is perfect! However, to make it ultimate delicious, the tonkotsu soup needs more aging... After cooking, letting it sit for a day will bring out the umami through chemical reactions! Furthermore, the "kaeshi soy sauce" and "salt" are not doing a great job as they should enhance this soup! By combining the traditional handmade method & additive-free light soy sauce and mineral-rich salt, the tonkotsu soup will be several ranks higher. The noodles are low-water thin noodles! The chashu is pork belly! Other ingredients include shiitake mushrooms and white leeks. If you are interested, I recommend making a reservation and visiting. Thank you for the meal. Enjoy Ramen Life☆

In March 2020, I contacted a well-established blowfish (fugu) restaurant in Fukuoka that I had visited many years ago. Despite making a reservation, I was unable to secure a seat, which was a bit nerve-wracking. The head chef here used to run "Kurume Ramen Maru Hachi" but had to close it due to the popularity of his other establishment, Oil Mountain Villa. One of his apprentices now runs the well-known ramen shop "Najima-tei," which is quite impressive. It's amazing to see legendary ramen shops making a comeback. The atmosphere at this restaurant was quite different from what I expected, with a luxurious Japanese-style building in the middle of the forest. I ordered the "Chashu Ramen" for 1000 yen, and it had a classic, old-fashioned appearance that I loved. The soup was rich but light, with the traditional blowfish taste. The thin noodles were cooked just right, and the roasted pork was delicious. The spicy pickled mustard greens on the table were also very tasty. This ramen shop combines traditional flavors with the high-class service of a fine dining establishment. If they had served this quality back in the day, they would have been even more popular. I couldn't resist ordering an extra serving of noodles for 200 yen, despite the high price. If you want to taste the original flavor of this ramen, make sure to visit before the end of September, as it is only available for a limited time. This experience really made me think about life.

The location is wonderful, the mansion is magnificent, and we ordered the fugu course. The dishes are beautifully colorful and have a luxurious feel typical of a high-class Japanese restaurant. Moreover, the portion of fugu and shirako is huge for one person. It's enough to make you feel like you're good on fugu for a while.

I heard rumors about the legendary ramen and decided to visit. After trying the ramen, I was satisfied. It was simply delicious. The mild soup paired well with the medium-thick noodles, creating an elegant flavor. It reminded me of Toyo Ken in Kokura, but personally, I found the soup flavor to be slightly inferior. I may have set my expectations too high for the legendary ramen, so I would rate the taste as 4 out of 5 stars.
