よっち@北海道
【First visit on July 5, 2022】I had a 3-night, 4-day business trip to Furano from July 4th to 7th. The atmosphere in Hokkaido on the first day, July 4th, and this day, July 5th, was unstable, with thunderstorms forecasted in Furano from early afternoon onwards, similar to the previous day. I managed to finish the essential work by late morning, so I decided to trust the weather forecast and returned to the hotel close to the site. I took a shower, ate a convenience store bento, and started doing desk work in my room. Around 2 pm, the rain cloud radar alert went off, followed shortly by a heavy rain and thunderstorm. The thunder affected the hotel's power supply, causing a brief power outage for about a minute. As a result, it was said that the amount of rain that falls in Furano in a month during July fell in an extremely short time, with various alarms going off. During that time, I was doing laundry at the hotel's coin laundry, and the drying cycle, set for 120 minutes, stopped due to the power outage. When the power was restored and I restarted it, it showed 20 minutes remaining. It felt like it was rushed because it only ran for a little over 60 minutes. Since I wanted to thoroughly wash my sweat-drenched work clothes, I inserted more money and restarted the wash. The rain stopped in the evening, and for dinner, I drove towards Furano Station and visited "Tomikawa Seimenjo" for the first time. I had the Miso Smoked Chashu Noodles (tax included 1,100 yen) and a small rice (tax included 100 yen). It was mentioned that the chashu was smoked using Ezo Yamazakura trees planted by Kunie Tanaka, but I was a bit skeptical as to why the trees, which are less than 50 years old, would become smoke chips or smoke wood (due to fallen trees, etc.). The chashu was indeed a smoked aroma Momochashu, but the pork meat had a slightly noticeable taste. The chewy homemade flat noodles were delicious, but the soup without chemical seasonings stood out more for its saltiness than its umami, which was disappointing. (During this 3-night, 4-day stay, I had a breakfast-only accommodation plan, and for dinner twice, due to the daytime heat and fatigue, I had a room drinking session with convenience store side dishes.) #Furano business trip #Business trip solitary gourmet #Furano gourmet #Furano ramen #Tomikawa Seimenjo #Miso Smoked Chashu Noodles #Kunie Tanaka #From the North Country
