[Overall Review] Located about a 5-minute walk from Midoribashi Park Station in Osaka, this restaurant specializes in duck and chicken dishes. The duck here is marinated in homemade sweet sake base, enhancing the already delicious flavor of the duck. The main dishes like grilled duck and hot pot are both outstanding, and the soba noodles for the finale are much tastier than your average soba shop. The spacious and modern interior is well-maintained, allowing you to relax and enjoy your meal.-----------------------------------------I got off at Midoribashi Park Station for the first time and couldn't see any restaurants along the Shinmidosuji street right away. Despite the chaotic traffic, Shinmidosuji is not very popular. Walking along the side street, I found Kodo. The impressive entrance, lit up stylishly with indirect lighting, exudes a luxurious atmosphere. The interior, including the waiting area, is quite spacious and luxurious. The furnishings are also very elaborate. I visited on a weekday evening at 7 pm. A private room with a seating fee happened to be available, so we were lucky to use it. Despite the upscale atmosphere, the staff is courteous and accommodating. I was convinced that this is a good restaurant at this point. The menu mainly consists of dishes using duck and sake-marinated chicken, as well as soba noodles. It's best to order a course here. The course includes three options each for grilled duck or sake-marinated chicken: grilled duck, duck hot pot, and both. Each option can be ordered for two people. Besides the main dishes, the flow of the meal is the same for all, so this time we shared three servings of grilled duck and two servings of duck hot pot. The selection of sake, centered around Japanese sake and wine, is quite extensive. A lineup that sake lovers will find irresistible. This time, someone knowledgeable about sake chose sparkling wine and then sake (Shinkame) for us to enjoy.・Appetizer: Miso Bagna Cauda with Vegetables A variety of vegetables such as radish, chicory, and ice plant (the salty one) are served with miso bagna cauda sauce. The sharp saltiness of the miso mellows out nicely, and the sauce alone is perfect for drinking sake. It goes well with the vegetables.・Three Side Dishes Steamed chicken, sake lees and pumpkin soup, and bamboo shoots and golden needle mushroom. The presentation and vivid colors are beautiful. The pumpkin soup with sake lees has a great taste with the sweetness of the pumpkin and the richness of the sake lees. This is really good. The steamed chicken uses miso for seasoning. The bamboo shoots are also well-marinated in dashi broth. This seasoning is quite to my liking. The restaurant's name includes "sake," and it seems like they actively use fermented foods for seasoning.・Boiled Spinach Spinach salad was originally planned, but on this day, it was boiled spinach. It is garnished with bonito flakes and dried bonito shavings. The spinach has no bitterness and is elegantly wrapped in the umami of the dashi broth. This spinach is unexpectedly high-quality.・Duck Meat Simmered Dish Slow-cooked duck meat with grilled tofu and rapeseed blossoms. The duck meat itself is delicious, but the broth elevates the taste to another level. The slightly bitter taste of the rapeseed blossoms, reminiscent of spring, is a good accent to the duck's flavor. This dish makes the sake go down smoothly.・Grilled Duck from Kishu This is the main dish. The duck meat for grilling includes loin and thigh cuts. Thinly sliced with just the right amount of fat, the meat is seared on a thick iron plate, releasing the pleasant aroma unique to duck. Oh, just this aroma alone fills you up. The duck meat is packed with umami in the lean parts and has a rich depth in the fatty parts. The flavor and aroma of the duck are impeccable. The meat is tender, so be careful not to overcook it. It's best enjoyed when lightly seared.・Duck Hot Pot from Kishu This dish includes the two types of duck meat used for grilling and also includes a duck meatball. The vegetables used are burdock, green onion, and mizuna, among others. The clear brown broth with the duck meat and meatball is divine.==========

At Kamoto Kamoshi Kodo, a popular restaurant located a 5-minute walk from Midorino Park Station, you can enjoy top-notch oyakodon, soba, and fermented dishes in a fantastic atmosphere. The dinner budget ranges from 6000 to 10000 yen. This restaurant is well-known for its lunch oyakodon, and I was eager to try their duck dishes after enjoying a delicious oyakodon at Awaji Chef Garden in September. This was my first visit to their physical store. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of their Toyonaka branch, they introduced a premium version of their oyakodon called Oyakodon Premium, which I was lucky enough to try as there were still some available. Served in a beautiful Imari ware bowl, the golden oyakodon is made with premium ingredients such as Kishu duck, rare male Omi duck thighs, breasts, and tenderloins, all cooked in a rich red egg and top-quality broth. The texture of the Omi duck is excellent, and when mixed with the rich egg and broth, it creates an incredibly delicious dish. The presentation in a wooden box adds to the premium experience. Kamoto Kamoshi Kodo offers a variety of dishes featuring Kishu duck, including duck roast and heart, all cooked in different ways. The Eight Treasures course is highly recommended, with dishes that pair well with Japanese sake. The tableware, inspired by the skyscrapers of New York, adds an exciting touch to the dining experience. I tried several light and sweet Japanese sakes, all of which paired perfectly with the Eight Treasures course. Customers who order sake also receive a special set of 4 types of koji and soy sauce to enjoy with their drinks. The autumn-appropriate duck and mushroom hot pot, served with plenty of Kishu duck thighs, roast, and meatballs, is a luxurious dish with a delicious sweet broth. The round thigh meat is particularly tender and delicious. Lastly, the super luxurious soba with Ise lobster head, set to be available from December, is a showstopper with its rich lobster broth and aromatic flavor. Every dish at Kamoto Kamoshi Kodo is truly delicious, and the attention to detail in the presentation and serving style makes for a high-quality dining experience. It's a wonderful restaurant where you can enjoy a truly exquisite time.

I wanted to eat some zaru soba and found this restaurant. It's a popular sister store of a place in Toyonaka known for its delicious oyakodon and duck dishes. But I really wanted to have soba. However, there are other interesting menu items that caught my attention, like a ramen-like dish with a unique presentation. There is a coin parking lot right across the street. I arrived a little after the opening time on a weekday and was able to get in without waiting. They asked for my name, which was a bit surprising. I wonder if some people actually like that. The restaurant was about 80% full when I entered. The prices are a bit on the higher side, and they seem to have a creative and entertaining menu. They also have seasonal recommendations. I decided to go for the "Heartbeat Gold - Golden Nanba Chicken" for ¥1580. It was served relatively quickly without much wait. The soba noodles tend to get soggy quickly, so they advised me to eat it promptly. They provided yuzu pepper, black pepper, and sansho pepper for seasoning. I really liked the black pepper! The broth was gentle and comforting. I tried each seasoning separately and enjoyed them all. Personally, I preferred the black pepper and sansho combination over the yuzu pepper due to its saltiness. I would love to buy some black pepper for myself. This is not ramen; it's warm soba. Warm soba tends to get soggy. It's a place with a cozy atmosphere for enjoying your meal. Next time, I'll try the oyakodon. Thank you for the meal!

The quality of the staff and the food was excellent☆ I ordered a set of oyakodon and seiro soba, and everything was delicious! The duck seiro was also very tasty, and I definitely want to go back. I brought my 1-year-old child, and they had high chairs and aprons, which was great. It was also convenient that they accepted card payments.

The dishes were filled with attention to detail. The oyakodon was too good, but a bit lacking for my taste - I prefer it sweeter. The smoked soba salad was delicious, and even though the shrimp fry was expensive, it was tasty! The duck with grated daikon was also delicious. I want to try the fried chicken next time. I will definitely come back.

The waiting line outside the restaurant had 7-8 people. Upon entering, customers are required to write their name on a waiting board. It was revealed that there was a second waiting line while signing on the waiting board. We waited for 15-20 minutes before moving to the second waiting line, which also had 7-8 people. However, those who arrived after 1 pm were always at the end of the line, and new customers arrived while waiting for a table inside, so it seems best to arrive around 2 pm. Inside the restaurant, there was a long table (seating 18 people) with partitions of 30-40 cm height between each group for COVID-19 safety measures. The special parent and child rice bowl we ordered for takeout was very good. It seemed like there were a lot of staff members in the restaurant. Due to the long wait, we exceeded the 1-hour free parking at Oasis and Nitori. We will try coming around 2 pm next time.

I visited the restaurant for lunch before. The oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) was incredibly delicious, so I had high expectations for the evening menu. The dinner course mainly focused on duck and fermented dishes, with the option to add a la carte items. I ordered the chef's recommended course (7,150 yen) that day, and also added a rare cutlet. The courses included: Summer vegetables and fermented soy yogurt salad, Winter melon and duck meatball dashi soup, Seasonal tempura, Roast duck with sansho pepper jelly, Soba in a wooden bucket, Oyakodon, and Corn rice in a clay pot with truffle butter. I thoroughly enjoyed the duck dishes. Everything was delicious, especially the oyakodon, the duck appetizer, and the corn rice. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The "Kodou Hachishin" is a platter of 8 kinds of delicacies including rare duck meat and sashimi, all of which are delicious. The corn rice is also exquisite, with the aroma and texture of corn being enjoyable. Other side dishes were also delicious. Beer is served in a glass or bottle as there are no beer mugs. On the other hand, the selection of sake is extensive. It is served at room temperature rather than chilled. I went to eat duck hot pot ✨ It seems to be a restaurant affiliated with Heart Hakusan. I also ate the parent and child bowl I was looking for, and it was a carb festival with corn rice ✖︎ truffle. I even took the duck hot pot home. I could eat it for a lifetime. Around 2:00 pm on a weekday, there was no wait and the restaurant was about half empty. I ordered the special top-quality oyakodon with heart (rice portion less - 110) and a mini seiro soba (today's soba is from Hokkaido). I asked for less rice because I also ordered soba, but even then, it was enough to make me full. For women, I recommend getting the smaller portion. The meat was tender and the egg was rich! The soba, side dish, and miso soup were all delicious. I finished by drinking the soba broth with dashi. For 2,000 yen, the portion and taste were great value for money. The staff were all polite. There were many solo diners, so it's easy to dine alone here!

Lunch on 8/6/2023. I went to Kamotojuku near Midorigi Park. It's a restaurant I've been wanting to visit despite being close by. I had high expectations after seeing the photos on Tabelog. Even though it was past 1:30 PM, there were still people waiting, but we were seated after a short wait. I had the special oyakodon and a mini seiro, while my wife had the natural shrimp tempura donburi and a mini seiro. The oyakodon was delicious, one of the best I've had. My wife enjoyed the shrimp tempura as well. I'd like to try their soba next time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and the staff were friendly. I would definitely like to visit again. It was a great dining experience. #Osaka #Suita City #Soba #Kamotojuku

I went to a restaurant with a business partner and had delicious soba and oyakodon. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm and comfortable. The menu mainly focused on duck dishes. They offered a variety of ways to enjoy fresh duck, from appetizers to original small dishes. The sashimi and smoked duck were particularly fresh and tasty. I felt satisfied after finishing with soba and oyakodon. The restaurant also had a great selection of sake, showing their dedication to quality. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This is a Japanese restaurant located near Midoribashi Park Station in North Osaka. The main branch is a slightly upscale soba restaurant called Kodou, located near Toyonaka Station. To get there, exit Midoribashi Park Station and head north. It's about a 5-minute walk away. Since it's a street-level store, you shouldn't have any trouble finding it. The interior is spacious, with private and semi-private rooms available for small gatherings. Appetizers were beautifully presented, including a cheese dish with bread shaped like a duck and a corn dish. The Kodou Hachin dish (3800 yen) featured a variety of chicken, duck, and fermented foods. Each item was explained, but it was hard to remember them all. We ordered a small sake to go with the food, and you can choose your own sake cup, which adds a bit of fun. The alcohol went down smoothly. The duck loin and bagna cauda dish (1660 yen) looked just like the menu photo and the colorful vegetables were all delicious. We also tried the yuzu pepper tempura with duck breast (1080 yen) and the rare duck cutlet (1960 yen). With beer and sake for three people, the total bill came to 18,464 yen. Although the portion sizes seemed small, we surprisingly ended up feeling full. Overall, the cost performance might not be the best, but it wasn't as expensive as expected, at around 6000 yen per person. One thing that stood out was that all the staff were young men, which was unusual. The restaurant is not far from the station and easily accessible with a single subway ride from Umeda, making it a hidden gem. It's a great choice for those who love sake, and locals should definitely check it out.

On the way back, Kotorijelly felt hungry and decided to go to a place called "Kamo to Koji Kodou" for the first time in a while. The nearest station is Midorigi Koen Station in Toyonaka, where the branch of Kodo is located. After writing their name on the waiting board, they were seated when called. When visiting Kodo, the "Goku Special Oyakodon and Mini Soba Set" for 1,500 yen plus 550 yen is a must-try. The dish features a generous amount of eggs with a rich orange color, made with Oita's Akatama eggs. It includes Kyoto duck and chicken meatballs, as well as fermented Tajima chicken. The texture difference between the meats can be enjoyed. The cold Seiro soba served alongside was delicious, but they wished they had ordered a larger portion. They also reminisced about the delicious duck hot pot they had six years ago. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience at Kamo to Koji Kodou in Suita City, Osaka.

I have visited this place several times, and each time I had to wait in line before entering the shop, even on weekdays or weekends (maybe because I went early). However, on a rainy weekday, and for a late lunch, there was no line at all on this day. Even if there is no line, you can give your name to the staff when entering the shop, and they will call out your name like "Mr./Ms. ○○, welcome." I don't mind this personally, but in these times, some people may feel uncomfortable with their name being known, I wonder? One dish that I always order here is the "Grilled Duck Hearts with Sansho Pepper Sauce," which is absolutely delicious! It goes well with drinks. There are many seasonal soba dishes to choose from, so I always have trouble deciding. I heard that the seasonal rice dish is "Corn Rice," so this time, I decided to try the "Duck Soba" with a side of "Corn Rice" instead of the famous "Oyakodon." The sweet corn in the rice was delicious! The "Black Duck Nanba" was also very tasty.

I visit this place many times during both day and night. The soba is delicious, but I also recommend the lunch option of oyakodon. The back private rooms are very calming and you can enjoy your meal slowly in a nice atmosphere. For preschool children, they offer free soba or rice with toppings, and juice, which is a wonderful service. It's often crowded during both lunch and dinner, so making a reservation is recommended!

Located a 5-minute walk from Midorino Koen Station on the Hankyu Railway, this popular restaurant does not have a parking lot. As you walk down the hill from the station, you'll see a crowd of people in front of the shop. The restaurant specializes in duck dishes at night, but during lunchtime, they offer affordable options like oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) and soba noodles. Despite its small exterior, the interior is spacious and has a luxurious atmosphere. We were seated at a table and received attentive service. Children can enjoy complimentary soba noodles. We ordered the Special Oyakodon with liver for 1600 yen (limited to 10 servings per day), a large portion for an additional 110 yen, and a mini soba noodle set for 550 yen. The fried eggplant and myoga soba for 1580 yen, with duck breast on rice for 550 yen. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. The soba noodles had a mild aroma but were average in taste. The oyakodon was delicious, with fresh and flavorful duck liver. The fried eggplant and myoga soba and the duck breast on rice were also enjoyed by my companion. The staff brought us soba broth without us having to ask. We would definitely like to visit this restaurant again if given the chance.

The deluxe parent-child donburi with mini dipping noodles and a runny egg with a rich yolk. It also includes tsukune. The flavor is on the strong side. The interior of the restaurant is stylish and quite spacious. The kids' menu is free, and additional orders are possible. This time, I ordered mixed rice and fried chicken. Juice is also included. I visited before 12 pm on Sunday, and there was a wait for about 4-5 groups, but since I pre-ordered, the turnover was quick. The serving was also fast. I would like to try other dishes as well.

Godaohachin - Two servings, the right three dishes in front of you were made with local chicken and the rest with duck. I had the descriptions of each dish explained to me, but I forgot them. There is a theory called "Magical Number 7±2" which suggests that the limit of short-term memory is about 7 chunks. Remembering 8 menu items can be quite difficult for many people, so it might be helpful to use tags like a yakiniku restaurant or print out a paper with each item grouped together like an Italian antipasto platter. Well, I do remember that everything was quite delicious. The appetizer consisted of mashed potatoes topped with a duck-shaped rusk and shirasu zucchini tomato sauce, presented nicely. The shirasu zucchini had an Italian-like seasoning. The duck rare cutlet had a crispy coating and a sashimi-like interior. I wished there was a bit more for the price. The duck's umami flavor seeped into the oden broth. The oyakodon had a refined seasoning and was very much to my liking. Overall, I recommend this place for those looking for a calm atmosphere around Midorikoen Park with reasonable prices. The fact that they close at 9:30 pm with last order at 9:00 pm is a bit early for this type of restaurant, so it would be nice if they could stay open a little later.

When I went back home during Golden Week, my parents took me to a restaurant they love, called Kodo-san. That day, we had the duck yakiniku course plus some a la carte dishes. The appetizers, chicken rusk and mashed potatoes, were so cute and delicious. For the main course, we had two types of duck meat - duck thigh and duck loin. The meat was rich in flavor and incredibly tasty! The vegetables cooked in the dripping fat while grilling were also amazingly delicious. My father doesn't like koji, so when we asked for ponzu sauce, they brought it right away. Very kind service. In addition to the soba noodles for dessert, we also ordered the Oke Oyako Don. The glossy egg yolk was beautiful, and the taste was superb! You can drink the sauce from this oyako don. The staff's service was always very polite! It was great to spend quality time with my family.

I have visited Kodo in Toyonaka before, but this is my first visit here. I arrived an hour before opening and parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot, then lined up in front of the empty store. After a while, the staff came out and explained the opening time and lineup position. I learned from my previous experience in Toyonaka where I missed out on the limited quantity parent-child bowl, so this time I secured the pole position without any difficulty and was able to order the desired item. In Toyonaka, I also had soba in addition to the parent-child bowl, but here I will have a limited quantity special dish called "premium duck liver parent-child bowl". It is a parent-child bowl with duck liver and heart, limited to 10 servings per day, served with a side dish, miso soup, and pickles. It also comes with nori and sansho pepper as condiments. The parent-child bowl contains duck heart and liver, chicken thigh meat, tsukune, and mitsuba, each with a different texture and umami flavor. It was delicious. The sansho pepper had a subtle spiciness and was more of a condiment to enjoy the aroma rather than the heat. The soft scrambled eggs and additional egg yolk were made with rich-tasting eggs. The side dish was a seasonal dish of nanohana and shimeji mushrooms. The miso soup had rolled wheat gluten and green onions with a mild miso flavor. The pickles included pickled greens and daikon, both refreshing in taste. The "grilled duck heart with sansho pepper sauce" is another limited quantity item with plenty of valuable duck heart. It had a spicy kick from the sansho pepper and a rich sauce flavor, making it a dish that pairs well with alcohol. When I entered, there weren't many customers, but as I was eating the parent-child bowl, the seats quickly filled up. By the time I left, the restaurant was full and the waiting area was crowded, with people waiting outside as well. Overall, I think it's best to line up before opening if you want to make sure you get to eat what you came for at this restaurant.
