On Saturday afternoon, I waited for 90 minutes. There are only 5 seats, so it's hard to get a seat when customers are lingering over drinks. I had some sake and enjoyed my meal before leaving. It's not really appropriate to linger in such a place, but I can understand not wanting to leave because it's a lovely restaurant. This time, I had 13 pieces including Engawa, local Bluefin tuna, Surumeika, Hokkigai, Salmon, Kani, Hotate, Amaebi, Shimaebi, Ikura, Negi, and added Uni, Tako head, and Geso. I was very satisfied. I also got to have the free miso soup that was missing last time. The miso soup was delicious with plenty of shrimp stock. I probably won't be able to visit Hakodate for a while, so I wonder when I can come again. I will definitely visit next time.

Located a 15-minute walk from Hakodate Station, this sushi restaurant is situated inside the free market. The restaurant has only 5 counter seats. I was prepared to wait in line, but when I arrived on a Thursday at 2pm, the restaurant was full with no other customers waiting. I wrote my name down and waited outside, where a female staff member kindly directed me to a bench to wait. After about 15 minutes, a seat opened up and my name was called to enter the restaurant. They offer a set of about 10 pieces of sushi (5 varieties) or you can choose individual pieces. I ordered the "Take" sushi set. The sushi pieces were large and delicious, including tuna, salmon, marinated mackerel, squid, scallop, and egg. The price was very reasonable at 1200 yen for 9 pieces.

I took a taxi from Mibu City and went to this restaurant twice, which took about 20 minutes. I heard that they don't allow Ichigensan, but I'm not sure if that's true. The owner and the lady in charge are really nice, and the atmosphere of the restaurant gives off a vibe of being loved for a long time. The cost performance is great, and the sashimi and sushi are plentiful and delicious! You can also bring your own drinks, which is amazing. Of course, they also have drinks at the restaurant. I wanted to go every week, but I'm not sure if I'll have the chance to go while I'm still alive...

If it's just sushi of this quality, there are plenty in Ginza. Probably also in Hakodate and Sapporo. However, a sushi restaurant that offers this cost performance, I have never met before and I feel like I won't meet in the future. That's how good the value for money is. The downside is that there are only 5 counter seats, so if you're unlucky, you may have to wait for 2 hours, and you can't really relax and enjoy your drink.

First time visiting this restaurant. Among all the places I've been to, I would say it's currently my number one in Hakodate, no, in all of Hokkaido. First of all, the cost performance is amazing. Even though there were only two of us and we ate a little, we were able to enjoy all our favorite dishes for only 4000 yen. The master was also a nice person, and the food was just incredibly delicious.

Even though they were about to close, they let us in! The chef was very friendly and had a down-to-earth vibe, which I really liked. We ordered the premium sushi assortment and added some other items that caught our eye. We were full and satisfied after enjoying the delicious sushi. Considering the taste and quality, the price of 7,800 yen per person for lunch in Osaka seemed reasonable to me, but our bill came out to be around that amount for two people. I will definitely come back when I visit Hakodate again.

7/19 At the Free Market Sushi Ga, the second time I ordered this time, all the ingredients were local and extremely fresh! The rice was also good. The miso soup was free, with snow crab for ¥280, dried squid for ¥190, flounder for ¥190, and flatfish for ¥190. The draft beer was ¥550. #Hakodate #HakodateGourmet #HakodateFreeMarket #SushiGa

Hakodate was my first stop, but I didn't stay and instead moved to Hirosaki, which made for a tricky schedule. Since I only had lunch, I couldn't decide between "Abe Shoten's squid rice" or the main branch of "Lucky Pierrot," so I chose "Sushi Masu" in Hakodate Morning Market. It's a sushi restaurant in the market with only 5 seats, so I had to hurry to get there. Luckily, there was one seat left. Hooray for weekdays. <MVP> Tokishirazu was super relaxing. It's definitely worth the price, even though it may sound like a cliche expression. It's clearly on a different level. <Runner-up> Fresh shirasu (whitebait) roll <Others were all delicious> Dried squid, firefly squid, snow crab, gunkan (battleship sushi), flounder, whiting, salmon roe, crab soup (free). The above 10 pieces + roll + soup cost only 2,600 yen. The chef seemed quiet but engaged in conversation at times, making it a comfortable atmosphere. By the way, bringing your own fish costs 80 yen per piece. There was good quality fatty tuna being sold for around 1,500 yen at the market, so if you bring it here, you can have all-you-can-eat fatty tuna, but it doesn't seem profitable and might be awkward to ask for. Overall, I was very satisfied. I will definitely come back! Currently rated at 3.67 out of 5. No complaints at all.

Hakodate after a year was too sunny ☀️ I skipped lunch and headed straight here since I was on the move. It was past 2 pm on a weekday and all 5 seats at the counter were full! I underestimated the limited seating... I signed in, took a stroll around the market, and came back. I decided to splurge and ordered the following: Premium nigiri sushi (10 pieces) for 2,900 yen. They were quickly and skillfully placed in front of me. The selection included local flounder, Hakodate bluefin tuna toro, seasoned firefly squid, abalone, snow crab, striped shrimp, scallop, local bluefin tuna lean meat, seasoned salmon roe, and local sea urchin. I forgot to take a picture of the striped shrimp, but it was firm and rich. The seasoning on the salmon roe was elegant and irresistible. The local ingredients were all of high quality. The sea urchin was exceptional. I wish I had ordered more. I couldn't resist the sight of the scallops in the refrigerated case and added those to my order, along with octopus. The octopus head was surprisingly delicious. There was also a terrifying option on the menu called the Chairman's nigiri (market price), but I was completely satisfied with what I had. Thank you for the meal~

I hurried to the restaurant from the airport because it was said to be crowded according to reviews. However, it was actually not crowded at all. Lucky! I wrote my name down and waited at a table and chair in the back until they called me. I waited for about 20 minutes before being seated. I ordered the premium sushi, which had big, fresh, and sweet toppings. The rice was small and delicious. It was cheap and tasty. I also ordered additional items like sea urchin, clam, salmon, seared salmon, egg, squid, flying fish roe, ark shell, crab, and squid legs. The sea urchin was amazing and the crab was delicious. They didn't have draft beer, so I went with a classic canned beer, which was easy to drink and tasty. The sake, Junmai Ginjo Goryo, was also delicious. The chef was friendly and it was a great experience. I will definitely visit again when I'm in Hakodate. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday morning, prepared to wait a bit as they opened at 9:30 am. However, I underestimated the popularity of the place as there were already 7 groups ahead of me. The system was to leave your name and phone number and they would contact you when a seat became available, which was convenient. Since there were only 5 seats in the restaurant, I decided to go back to my hotel and pass the time at the sauna. By the time they called me, it was lunchtime, which worked out well. I wanted to try all the local specialties, but since it was my first time, I opted for the top-quality selection. The atmosphere and prices reminded me of the sushi restaurants in Tsukiji (or Toyosu), or Yamato Sushi. I only had disappointing memories of sushi in Hakodate, so I was glad to have found a good sushi place. I'm looking forward to visiting on a weekday next time to enjoy the local specialties of my choice.

Located on the same street as the main road with a 5-seat counter for standing, this place offers a casual atmosphere. The dried squid with ginger is a bit tough but has decent freshness and flavor. The flounder sashimi is soft and delicate. The "Masunosuke" salmon sashimi is made from natural king salmon, with a tender and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The octopus head is simmered and seasoned, offering a unique texture that combines the chewiness of squid with the tenderness of octopus. The mountain wasabi roll is a popular dish in Hokkaido, providing a refreshing spiciness that complements rice well. The soy-marinated lean tuna has a firm texture and rich flavor. The fatty tuna belly is finely marbled and tender, with a smooth mouthfeel. The kindness of the staff and the quality of the dishes are evident even in the last moments before closing time.

The flight from Haneda to Hakodate departed slightly later than scheduled, causing some tension as the plane took off. However, once the aircraft leveled out, I felt relieved. In early June, a travel plan was made with a friend to visit Hakodate. It was a rainy morning in Tokyo on the day of departure, but the rain had stopped by the time we arrived at Hakodate Airport. After dropping off our luggage at the hotel, we headed to a sushi restaurant inside the Hakodate Morning Market for our first meal. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with only four counter seats available. We were able to order by phone and enjoy our sushi and drinks without having to wait in line. The quality of the sushi was excellent, and the chef was friendly and engaging. The market also had a space where customers could purchase seafood and have it cooked on the spot. Overall, it was a great dining experience in a less touristy area compared to the Hakodate Morning Market.

I visited Hakodate for a revenge visit since I couldn't get in last time. The restaurant opens at 9:30 am, but you need to write your name on the waiting list in front of the store in advance, so I went there around 8 am. I was second in line. Yes! I can get in on the first round! There are only 5 seats in total, 4 regular seats and 1 makeshift chair, so if the first customer is a group of 4, then I'm out (if dining alone, it's okay). That's what happened last time. The sushi was all fresh, delicious, and surprisingly cheap. Some items like seasonal specialties or sea urchin were market price, so I ordered without knowing the price, but the bill was lower than expected. In Tokyo, it would cost 1.5 times more. If you want to go, I recommend waking up early to write your name on the list before the opening time.

Hakodate Sushi is located inside Hakodate Jiyu Ichiba, just a minute walk from Hakodate City Tram Shinkawa-cho. I arrived at 10:00 am on a weekday and there were 2 groups ahead of me waiting. With only 5 counter seats, the wait can be quite long. I waited for about 20 minutes with 2 groups ahead of me. Being inside the market, I was able to look around while waiting, which was convenient. Items I tried: - Yariika: Sliced beautifully with ginger on the side, easy to eat and delicious. - Masunosuke: Very delicious, the fat was sweet and melted in the mouth. - Fresh Nishin: Had a nice unique flavor, I enjoyed it. - Akami (lean tuna) - Toro (fatty tuna) - Kani (crab): Crab meat with crab miso, great value. - Botan Ebi (spot prawn): Sweet and delicious. - Shime Saba (marinated mackerel) - Local Shako (mantis shrimp) - Draft beer (Kirin Ichiban Shibori) x2: Sushi rice was a bit soft, but overall the quality of the ingredients was good. The prices are affordable and the cost performance is great. It's a popular place with only 5 counter seats and no reservations. You need to write your name and phone number on a paper in front of the shop. They will call you when it's your turn, so waiting while exploring the market is not too bad.

On the second day of the Hakodate expedition, I finally visited the highly popular restaurant "Sushiga" inside the Hakodate Jiyu Ichiba market that I had been wanting to go to for a long time. I chanted the magic words "igaigaiga" and my main aim was, of course, the freshly caught "Yariika" (spear squid). I started with the crispy texture of the "Yariika," followed by "Kohada," "Benizake," locally caught natural "Honmaguro" red meat, "Mazoi," "Shimesaba," "Shimaebi," and a comparison of the flavors of "Ami Ebi." The "Tobi Ikko" battleship roll, delicious "Tako no Atama," the excellent sweetness of the "Hokkigai," homemade "Kazunoko," "Zuwai Gani" with crab miso, and again "Yariika" and "Yariika no Mimi" each with 2 pieces. Finally, I fully satisfied my "igaigaiga" mood with the simmered "Yariika" legs.

Cheap, delicious, and excellent customer service! It was a pleasant dining experience. This was my first visit. I ordered the mixed sushi platter (2,000 yen) with white fish (yellowtail), medium fatty tuna, spear squid, surf clam, striped shrimp, snow crab, salmon, scallop, salmon roe, and green onion served in that order. The sushi rice was well seasoned. It was so delicious that I ordered additional tuna red meat and the tasty medium fatty tuna for the mixed sushi platter. My partner and I each had two glasses of draft beer, and the total bill came to just over 7,000 yen. Great value for money! The chef and the waitress were both lovely. It's a great restaurant that I would love to visit again and again. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ✨

Hakodate Sushi Ga is a sushi restaurant located in Hakodate Asaichi Market. It opens at 9:30 am and can only seat about 5 people. The sushi starts at 80 yen per piece, and it is very fresh and delicious. The quality of the sushi here is excellent! I went on a Monday morning around 10 o'clock and waited for about 2 hours with 3 groups. We ordered nigiri sushi and some other items that caught our attention. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The miso soup, which is served until it runs out, was also very tasty. It had a lot of shrimp heads in it, giving it a rich flavor.

I always go for lunch, so I usually have to wait in line and it's not very relaxing. This time, I happened to go around 2 o'clock. I was seated right away and there was no line, so I felt at ease. The 2000 yen sushi set is enough for a luxurious meal with delicious sushi. It's nice to be able to order additional special sushi of the day. It's a wonderful restaurant where you can easily enjoy such delicious sushi.

Counter seating only, as the title suggests, this sushi restaurant is located inside the market. I was very satisfied with both the taste and cost performance. Since it is located inside the market, when you order a type of sushi that is not in the display case, the owner immediately runs to the market to buy the ingredients, which then become your sushi. The owner is also very friendly, and this is a place I always want to visit when I come to Hakodate. The restaurant is more suited for those who want to quickly enjoy delicious sushi rather than leisurely relaxing.
