Keihan Demachiyanagi Exit 9 (with escalator) is about a 5-minute walk. Within a 3-minute walk from the Aoihashi bus stop. I have never experienced not being able to sit at 3 o'clock, but even on weekdays, it can get quite crowded with moms, couples, and solo diners taking a break. Upon entering, the staff will show you to your seat. You will be given a menu, water, and a wet towel to start. The style is to wait for a good moment to place your order after considering the menu. The water is served in cups, and personally, I find it to be delicious water. The interior of the restaurant gradually becomes more refined. The Japanese-style two-person tables (which can easily be converted into four-person tables) and chairs, as well as the wallpaper, all have a new construction charm, creating a sense of escape from reality. All the staff members are polite and attentive, so you can feel at ease. Payment is by cash or PayPay, so be mindful of that. The Matcha Parfait (¥1500) looks lovely. While it may not have the flashy appearance of Shizuka Ichifu-en or Mont Blanc, the careful craftsmanship is evident in its visual presentation. The soft serve ice cream on the top has a rich flavor of milk. It tastes strongly of milk but doesn't leave a lingering aftertaste, allowing the other flavors to shine through. Next comes the ice cream. The matcha, kinako, and other three flavors each stand out and can be enjoyed individually. The red beans have a firm texture with a well-cooked core, and the taste of azuki beans comes through clearly. The soba boro serves as a nice accent, and scooping the ice cream with a katayatsuhashi is also a good choice. Of course, the agar jelly and matcha jelly are not just side dishes but are well-made with a firm texture and good flavor. The warabi mochi is not just an extra but a standalone item included in the parfait. Overall, I felt that the parfait was carefully and skillfully made, with each flavor standing out in each bite. It's definitely worth the price. As for the recommended plan, a visit to Kamogawa Delta, stepping stones, Masugata Shotengai, Gyomen Mochi, and Manjukataya for lunch is a must. Personally, I would also recommend having breakfast at MAKI and visiting Shimogamo Shrine in the morning for a highly satisfying experience. Taking a proper rest here is also a key point.
