2023.08 [Revisited] Afternoon tea at Sereo adjacent to JR Hachioji Station! Visited on a weekday afternoon. The seasonal limited edition Zespri kiwi parfait comes in two varieties: green kiwi and gold kiwi! This time, I ordered the Gold Kiwi Parfait for 1,450 yen. The kiwi has a firm texture with a good balance of acidity and sweetness. The granola topping is crispy and has just the right amount of sweetness. The cream cheese gelato also pairs well without feeling out of place. The lemon milk whip is refreshing and doesn't overpower the kiwi, which is nice. The hibiscus jelly at the bottom also has a nice texture. It would be nice if there were a bit more kiwi to make its presence more noticeable. While it didn't leave me in awe, I think it's a good choice for the summer.

I went out with my friends to have afternoon tea with tea and desserts! It was fun to choose from three different desserts! One of my friends seemed to be a regular here and her favorite was the apple pie. She said it was really good and I should have chosen it! The seasonal scone with lemon flavor was delicious! Each person was served a pot of tea, and the tea leaves were removed once the tea was ready to drink. This way, the tea doesn't get too strong over time. We enjoyed our tea slowly and had a great time chatting. Highly recommended!

I had squid and broccoli pasta with matcha and strawberry cake. The pasta sauce was rich and perfect for dipping bread. The cake had a good balance of matcha and strawberry, and was very delicious. The staff were all friendly, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was quiet and pleasant. I had a great time there.

Around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, I casually visited the restaurant. The place was moderately crowded with lunch customers, but there were still empty seats available, so we were able to enter without waiting. I always thought that afternoon tea places were usually busy and required waiting, but maybe it's because of the coronavirus... However, after looking at the menu, I understood why. It seems that the true essence of afternoon tea is only available after 2:00 p.m. Before 2:00 p.m., they don't offer a cake set, so you have to order a single cake (around 800 yen) plus a single drink (840 yen for tea), totaling around 1640 yen. After 2:00 p.m., you can order the afternoon tea set, which includes half-size portions of 3 types of cakes (during the current promotion, maybe 4 types?) and tea for 1730 yen. It's a much better deal! Many women would prefer multiple small cakes over one large cake, so the afternoon tea set is definitely something that would make them happy! Unfortunately, we arrived at 1:00 p.m. this time, so we had to order a cake and tea separately and share them. After discussing with my companion, we each ordered our own tea and decided to share one cake. Our order total was 2470 yen for two people (including tax). The Earl Grey and lemon cheesecake was decent, and the tea was satisfying as it came in a pot, allowing us to enjoy about 2.5 cups. The standout point was the attitude of the staff. When I asked if it was possible to have the cake cut in half, they agreed without any hesitation and even decorated the plates with cream and mint leaves just like they would for a full cake. That was impressive. I don't know if it was the individual skill of the staff or part of the restaurant's training, but the level of service was exceptional and left a lasting impression. By the time we left, a line had formed outside, so it seems that this place truly shines after 2:00 p.m.

Their high tea menu starting from 5:00 PM offers a great deal where you can add soup, salad, or half dessert and a drink for about 300 yen. Additionally, you can upgrade your half dessert to a full size for an extra 320 yen.

Afternoon tea at Sele in Hachioji. The bright and casual café-style interior. Ordered the limited edition "Shrimp and Scallop Tomato Curry Plate" for the year-end and New Year / 1760 yen (tax included). Comes with a drink. ・Salad ・Orange and beet marinade ・Broccoli and lentil couscous salad Honestly, the seasoning was subtle. The texture was not very pleasant either. ・Shrimp and Scallop Tomato Curry The tomato curry, finished with 5 kinds of spices, had a rich and gentle taste, and was delicious. The shrimp also had a firm texture. However, the curry splattered around the plate should have been wiped clean before serving to customers for a sense of cleanliness. ・Strawberry and apple caramel soy milk pudding This had a homely taste, neither good nor bad. The taste seemed slightly inferior because the container looked cheap. ・Blended tea A simple yet deep blend of Assam and Darjeeling with a pleasant aroma. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I tried the limited-time menu until December 27th! ◎Pastrami Beef and Red Cabbage Grilled Sandwich Plate ¥1,650 -----Menu Contents----- Pastrami beef, cheese bechamel, spinach, and marinated red cabbage sandwiched in whole wheat bread and grilled until crispy. The horseradish sauce adds a nice touch. The main dish on the plate is a crispy whole wheat toast with a smooth pastrami beef grilled sandwich. The rich bechamel with cheese is easy to eat, almost like a croque monsieur. The crunchy texture of the marinated red cabbage stands out! The cream soup served on the side also has a nice flavor with the umami of white mushrooms. ◎Chai (HOT) I cannot comment on how it pairs with the sandwich, but the hot chai I had together was delicious. Served in a terracotta-colored cafe au lait bowl, it gives off an Asian exotic vibe even from the touch. They also bring a small container of table spices so you can add extra aroma to your liking (probably cinnamon inside). Next to the register, they had seasonal products like apple stollen. There is also a tea accessories shop right next door, making it convenient for tea lovers. Thank you for the meal today!

I happened to pass by the front of the shop and was drawn in by the campaign they were running and the friendly vibe of the lady at the entrance. Even though the shop had no windows, the interior didn't feel cramped. I ordered the afternoon tea set, which included two apple pies, a shortcake, lemon cream, and pineapple crepe. The apple pie, a classic favorite, was delicious. However, the shortcake was a bit disappointing, possibly due to the cream melting from the warmth. The crepe with lemon cream and pineapple was refreshing and tasty. The only high point in terms of service was the excellent customer service provided by the lady at the entrance and our table server. If all restaurants had staff like her, dining out would always be a joy. The prices were on the higher side, typical of a city establishment, even though this was in Hachioji.

I finished my last job of the year and decided to stop by for an early lunch. Since Basel in Keio Hachioji starts serving lunch at 11 am, I will visit them next year. I went to the Tea Room at Afternoon Tea in the Hachioji station building. It has been about 3 months since my last visit, and this was my 17th time here. Since it was right after opening, there were no other customers. I ordered the limited-time "Seafood Curry New Year Plate" available until January 6th. For the drink, I chose decaf Earl Grey (straight). I had a light breakfast of clam chowder and Afternoon Tea's Lemon Bread, banana, and Merry Chocolate Strawberry Mille-feuille on this day, so when the food was brought to me, I wondered if it would be enough. I was grateful that I was able to finish my work from the morning before and that I could welcome the new year. Although I had caused inconvenience at work due to poor health this year, I ate while expressing my gratitude. I hope that I can continue to eat deliciously and stay healthy next year as well. 2020.01 [Revisited] On a weekday afternoon, I felt like having scones again after a long time, so I visited this cafe! I ordered a set of plain and limited-time strawberry scones with a drink for just under 1,500 yen. The scones were warm, not too sweet, and simple. They were just right when paired with jam and whipped cream. The texture of the scones was more on the crumbly side than soft. The strawberry scone was quite delicious! The tartness of the strawberries and the sweetness of the sugar topping were a good combination. The cafe latte came in a large bowl! It was a decent but not outstanding bitter coffee. Overall, I felt slightly lacking in satisfaction. I might reconsider my rating a bit.

After finishing my first job of the new year, I went to have an early lunch. Basel-san's lunch, which has been my recent favorite, starts at 11 o'clock, so I decided to visit another day and went to the Afternoon Tea Room in the Seleo building at Hachioji Station. Since it had just opened, there was only one other customer. I ordered the limited-time "Seafood Curry New Year Plate" available until January 6th. The set drink was the seasonal "Strawberry Darjeeling Second Flush Blend" (although I felt the strawberry scent was a bit strong, I usually prefer the decaf Earl Grey). About 15 minutes after ordering, the food arrived. I had eaten two desserts and a chocolate croissant about 3 hours earlier, so I wasn't very hungry, but I couldn't resist the scallops that I love so much. I was pleasantly surprised to see gold powder on the curry, which made me happy. The herb salt potatoes were seasoned just right and very delicious. I also enjoyed the dressing on the lettuce (probably balsamic). I love the Fricassee Deli Plate starting from January 7th, so I will visit again. It was a reward for myself after working hard for 25 hours.

Located on the 3rd floor of the Seleo building at the north exit of JR Hachioji Station, there is a shop selling Afternoon Tea goods, with a tea room next to it. It's a great place for tea lovers because there aren't many places where you can enjoy delicious tea late at night. I ordered the limited-time Double Apple Tea for 759 yen, which has a comforting taste with a blend of apple aroma, tartness, and the fragrance of tea.

The limited edition chestnut cake scone for September was a perfect match for me. The afternoon tea room offers seasonal plates and cakes every month, and I often visit because they are not only cute but also generous in portion. This month's theme is chestnut! Sweet potatoes, chestnuts, apples...I love all the autumn flavors. It's a paradise for dessert lovers! I arrived around 1 pm on a weekday and was able to enter without waiting in line. It was busy with women having lunch, but the atmosphere was welcoming even for solo diners. They also allow baby strollers and provide a nice ambiance. I ordered the chestnut and cassis scone shortcake for 1390 yen. The scone had ice cream and chunky chestnut paste inside, with a tangy cassis sauce on the side. The scone was crispy, and as the ice cream melted, it soaked into the scone, making it even more delicious! I hope this becomes a regular item every year. I was very satisfied with this dish! I want to go back again this month to try the chestnut parfait, which is available until November. I wonder if they will introduce a new cake for October? Exciting! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I had a meal in Hachioji. Even though I just had tapioca drink and tiramisu in the Pompompurin Cafe in Yokohama for lunch. I had afternoon tea at Afternoon Tea in Sereo Hachioji at JR Hachioji Station. It was served exactly at 2 o'clock. I had hot chai tea because I wanted to drink a lot of milk. You can choose from 9 types of cakes. The apple pie was delicious. They also have a decent selection of meal menus like pasta and curry, and they are currently having a collaboration campaign with Calpis, offering delicious drinks and cute goods.

I visited the cafe for the first time in a while as they are currently holding an afternoon tea collaboration with the Vermeer exhibition. I decided not to go for the set cakes as they contained a lot of alcohol which I couldn't finish. I thought about getting half portions of sweets and coffee, but I couldn't resist the strawberry shortcake and sweet potato pudding. So, I decided to go for those two!

The service was bad, so I only ordered a drink.
